- Diving into the 4L60E transmission in my ex Highway Patrol VX SS Commodore to troubleshoot some issues. Replacing solenoids and switches. Will it make any difference?

My VX SS has no 2nd gear at the moment and I'm pretty sure I have the same problem, I got the 4L60E serviced with a new trans filter & solenoid replaced etc in 2013 then also replaced waterpump power steering starter & alternator etc and put the SS in storage from 2016 to 2021,and now it has no second again 🤔
Also the SS has just over 300thousand Ks (I put 160thou in 17 yrs of ownership) and not 1 problem other than the 2nd gear but Im getting the LS1 and transmission rebuilt this year

Where’d you get that pump set up from to remove the trans fluid? I could do with something like that…
eBay. Was cheap too. $40 maybe.
What happens when the solenoids needs replacing or why are you doing this
Didn't have 1st gear and was very sluggish. After this vid I completely stripped and rebuilt this transmission. The valve body was heavily clogged up and some valves seized. 3/4 clutches worn. The rest was pretty decent.
