OK, I tried this. I must tell you I liked it. I did add a little bit of chicken stock to the soup to make it easier to pour over the chicken. I had an open to package of bacon bits in my refrigerator, so I used this instead of cooking some bacon. I did pour a very small amount of my chicken stock over the chicken and tater tots--just a small amount. I think it made a difference, and it wasn't dry at all. My husband really liked it. He called it "Tots ala mode. "
I love your channel! Lots of great inspiration! Tried this dish a few ways: with TT on bottom also on top to get crispy (my personal fav) or with cream mushroom, or adding sour cream or even adding steam cauliflower.
I would have mixed the chicken, soup and ranch seasoning together and then put the tots on top of it with a drizzle of butter. Let it bake most of the way to let the tots crisp, then sprinkle on the cheese and back in the oven until the cheese melts.
I don’t even understand why this has chicken in it. The tater tot, bacon, 🥓 and cheese topped with chives is reminiscent of potato skins. I want it now.
