Just discovered your channel Thomas and it looks like you enjoy these small Chinese model engines like I do. I have several of them, and my latest is the M96. This engine is so much nicer than the others that I have. They call the M96 engine a 6 cycle "oddball", which it is not. They are referring to the "Oddball 6 cycle engine designed and built by Phil Duclos years ago that appeared as a construction article in "The Home Shop Machinist" magazine, here in the USA. This little model is a 4-cycle engine and is a little beauty just the same and a great runner! Pick one up if you haven't already, you'll love it! Ironically it is - technically - under the house roof...but the garage, yeah. I can't fit it in the kitchen because the cats are there keeping a close eye on the baby chickens that Penny brought home ("the tweeters and the meowers")

You won't find parts outside of the supplier team at enginediy website Retrol or MUSA themselves who work thru Retrol/Enginediy. As for bits that may fail, really only the piston ring or ignition or sparkplug. Cleaning should fix the sparkplug. Take the old ring to any local rubber ring specialist to replace that (It's not rubber, should last years). Any model IC ignition should work. These are far-future considerations, though. Hello Thomas, I like your videos very much and also your comments. Didn’t miss one. My videos are all quiet. I have one of the M17 without a govonor. With the same carb as the M17 hit and miss. Very simple engine, speed control only with rich or lean fuel/air mix. Yours look so much better and runs like a charme. It could run a little bit slower after my opinion, if you take a smaller spring or expand yours very carefully and test it out. I did it with my first engine/M90 and it does 28 hits per minute. Please have a look at my video about the simple 3D printed manuell speed control. Your mods are awesome and the tigerbalm tin can is clever and funny. I asked Jin if it is possible to offer me the parts to convert my engine into the hit and miss version. Gear, holder, rod, slider,weights…Hopefully the crankshaft is the same. Waiting for an answer till now. Unfortunately I can’t find your engine for about 150$. Microcosm, Stirlingkit is about 350-390$. No more offered in Jin‘s ebay-shop. I will see. Maybe the original engine is very popular there. You can buy two of this 10-15 hp Diesel engines for the price of one M15 model engine. (By the way- your whippet style engine is awesome!!) But I was lucky and I think the first one who got this engine from Jins ebay shop for a very, very reasonable price. (50%) Lucky me. Unfortunately the valve lifters are fully worn out after many hours of runtime and the engine stopped working. I made knew ones. Engine is running again. But only on low rpm. I could not measure the length of the lifter’s because they are so worn out. Maybe a Millimeter to short or to long. I won’t give up and try it again. Very difficult to adjust the micro valves at this engine. I am a little bit lazy for now. I have some new engines here to make new videos. M14, 21, 25, 26, H73 and R27. R27 is not running- carb problems. Will change the carb and see. Really nice to have contact with a man 18846 Km away who has the same hobby. Bis bald, mein Freund. Sorry for my bad English. Manfred.

Hey Anton! Welcome! Here in Kiwiland we make do, famously. Anyway I don't know if we have an electronics shop here in little old Christchurch, with much in the way of parts. If you google "microswitch for sale" and choose "shopping" you'll find a massive range which could all be made to work; aliexpress too, look at the size specs. Mine, I just get a bunch of free old pc cd drives (ask a recycling place or your local computer technician, home pc technician best) and open them all up looking for microswitches. A dremel tool is best for cutting them off with a little extra circuit board mount you can drill through. I sealed the solder connection with hot glue but it looks awful, you could do a neater job:)
