@@LookOutside... It’s actually very easy. Tip: ensure tent is lined up straight for wind deflection. Racks come with a special tool to tighten brackets onto the roof rack. After you slide brackets into guides, It took two of us about five minutes and spent most of that time making sure tent lined up. It’s very simple. The only thing I don’t like is that there is no lock mechanism for the clamps and the roof rack. So if you leave your car outside for long periods in an unsafe place someone can steal the tent if they have the right tool.
@@Naessey thanks! I have this exact tent ordered and a Sherpa equipment rack. I’m not sure if I will need to buy different brackets or be able to use what comes with the tent. Very excited tho!!
@@LookOutside... You are welcome. I have had mine for about two years now and slept in at probably 200 nights. Apart from a tear on the canvas which was my fault, it’s been very reliable. My only advice would be to get a thicker mattress. They have just released a new model which has a couple of upgrades, but it’s still essentially the same tent.
Awesome episode. Enjoyed this one. Thanks for sharing. Think these units are fantastic and look great on any vehicle. Nice looking ranger there mate 🤟🤟
Hi thanks for the demo video. How does the iKamper hold up to the Kalahari dust? Ed Barth mounted his iKamper on his trailer, does the inside stay clean? Are there Durban distributors? I want to mount a RTT on my conqueror trailer.
Hello! The IKamper is very airtight, no dust goes in. Inside stays very clean. The importer is based in Durban, you can even order directly online www.IKamper.co.za Or recommend safari co 4x4 in Pietermaritzburg Installations can be arranged from there.
Hi, where did you get the mounting brackets for the tent - it only comes standard with the mounting stuff for roof bars but I also want to mount it to my roof rack … did those bars that slide in come with the tent?
Hi Stephen, thanks very much for watching. The X-Cover Mini isn't in production as yet, we expect the release to be around Sep/Oct at this point. If you just keep an eye on the iKamper website and Instagram as it will be announced there first.
One of the best videos I’ve seen for setting up and closing down this model. Thanks.
Thanks very much Carl 🙌🏻
i wish they would have actually shown the instalation of the mounting brackets instead of showing the brackets and hiding the install. maybe its easy

Our pleasure!
Get mine in one week, taking a trip the very next day, about 3600 miles in total. Cant wait to experience this in person.
Thanks for the comment Steve, how is the trip going and how are you finding the iKamper?
Hi There are you the national distributor? If so, what are your work contacts?

Yes I am, my contact email address is jason@ikamper.co.za

Best tent around. How tall are you to give us an idea of length when open?
Thanks Robin, I'm 186cm tall and when open the mini is 210cm
Looks like a fantastic product. How do you find the mattress on the IKamper?
Thanks for watching! No problem at all with the mattress but I do like a firm mattress so I’m very happy with it.

Front Runner so a few types of mounting brackets for their roof racks. Check their website out www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/za/
This looks neat man, I would like get a hold of the x-cover mini. Pls let me know if it’s possible.

Hey, Thanks for feedback, I will surely keep an eye out on the platforms...
When you packed it away were your sleeping items eg pillows, sleeping blanket in there? Or do you pack them in the car? Thanks :)
Good question Zarn, the pillows do need to come out but I do manage to leave the sleeping bags in it 👌🏻
Does the mini have enough space for pillows and linen. Second how can one reach you?
Thank you for watching, you can reach me by email jasondavies@me.com
You can leave some linen in but not pillows unfortunately.
@@EpicAfrica thank you
Is it comfortable also for 3. 2 adult and 1 child.
Thanks for the question, I would say as long as the the child is under 3 years you should be ok
how can i get that tent? how much? I am in Botswana
Thanks for watching, you can order online at IKamper.co.za and they will deliver to you in Botswana 👍🏻
