- This event packs a lot of 80s and 90s cars and some epic retro outfits to make for a very enjoyable day. Loud music meant I couldn't do the show entirely as a walkaround but I hope you enjoy it regardless. Event organised by @hagertyclassiccarsuk3102
HubNut merchandise can be bought at HubNut.org - thank you. And yes, I'm growing the beard back ASAP...
#retro #classiccars #80s90s
Great roundup. Thanks.
Definitely a serious part of what makes your content so enjoyable Ian is your mental encyclopaedic knowledge and appreciation for just about everything. It’s awesome stuff, keep it going sir 👍👍
Agreed!
Absaloutly brilliant video Ian miss hubnut ❤👍 what another fantastic collection of classics brilliant
Of course I knew Katie won overall as I had seen it on Twitter but the delight on her face was special - well done to all
Again your Wiki brain astounds me. Good to see you and Carly.
Loving Katie modelling her stripes.
See you in a future 📹
What an awsome show, such a variety of cars. As a 70s child ive always loved 70s and 80s cars, but how good are the 90s cars too... great video and soundtrack. Love hubnut.
Totally rad, surfer dude! 😋👍✌️
That was NICE!!! My favourite this time: the Peugeot 309. A dream car because absolutely rare… Thanks for showing this show! 👋🥰👋
Thank you for squeezing the Corollas in at the end, Makes a chnage from Fords and MX5s and MG TF which can seen at any show any weekend
You really looked really rad in the video! 😆
Another amazing event! Embracing not just the cars, but the culture too!
A brilliant video, great array of vehicles, really good now well done 👌👌👌
Life goals... attending Radwood in the UK.
The 80's & 90's are "peak car". Many still had individual and clean designs. Great video as always!
Oh wow - such a never ending smörgåsbord of goodies! And extra big plus for that 80s sounding synthpop tune - been a top consumer of that stuff since way back when. I just can't get enough of it, you might say ;)
What a place!
Thought you'd like it. 😉
So many gorgeous motors. Loved the 323F and the mark 1 Espirit.
Music was excellent 🙂
And the cars 🤭
Some great lad cars
Strong head gear game Mr HubNut! Rivalling GBC with excellent schwung. Thank you both for a great show report 😊👍
And bring back bordeaux red. Cheers.
Love that L plate Laguna… I feel Renault started to go wrong after this point… same for Peugeot too, after the 106, 306, 406, things went downhill… so many good memories of road tripping in a French hatchback in my youth, and the cars were an important part of it, they were a joy to drive.
Watching this video reminded me of a lot of cars that I would have loved to own in the 80s if I had the money. a trip down memory lane, Lovley. Pity he panned passed the BMW CSL.
Nice 🥰
Loved the shirt
My mum had a burnt orange vauxhall tigra, gotta admit i loved it, remember we went camping as kids to North Yorkshire in it and forgot the tent poles lol so seats down and slept in the car, great view up at the stars
Wow what a nice Silver Datsun/Nissan Cherry..
It really is. ua-cam.com/video/SfcVZCQLPY0/v-deo.htmlsi=D-CuD6b9jU-Ks8Ef
Ignoring the Supra to talk about the Laguna, that’s exactly why I love your channel Ian. That looked like a brilliant car show.
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about witnessing a lot of cars I drove back then being in a retro event such as this, but I do love seeing them again, just as I remember them. Memories of watching all the needles flick as I fired up a Rover SD1 to visit a customer, that sort of thing, hooning around in the 1988 Escort RS Turbo I inherited as a company car in 1992, unforgettable. Cheers Ian!
Had to smile , all these are new kids on the block compared to my old girl , she’s a good 40 years older than all here :)
A Metro grabs the attention before an Alfa and a Camaro. It could only be Hubnut
Interesting side window design on the Subaru SVX at 14:18. Liking that very much. One of the coolest things about cars from the 80s and 90s was their colourful interiors.
Fabulous to see you on Saturday and have a brief chat on camera. thanks for your time Ian, it was a great days wasn't it!
That MK 1 Astra though ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Turns out it's a Kadett but point stands!
It was a great show I’m definitely going again next year
Great show. I was taken aback to see an Allegro Estate in the Hot Wheels coverage, I never knew it was a Hot Wheels legend. My 1978 one was not a legend 🤣
This one is on a Beetle floorpan...
Some lovely cars and good video 🚘🚙🚗⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Looks fun, wonderful collection from those times:) Loving the return of the Keith Floyd/Begerac meets Reggae.
I was planing to shave as its been nearly 2 weeks and it takes ages with me. But now I'm watching your car meet videos. 😊
How did I miss this on the calendar 😢.my starlet would've fitted in nicely. Maybe next year
Pop up headlights and wipers too, the highlights
I read some mixed comments about the event, but your video is at least top notch again! Well done, lovely music and editing 👌🏼😀
Passed you and Miss Hubnut in Betty today, I couldn't flash the lights as I was in someone elses car, hope you are enjoying the return of summer? Great video all the fab cars I remember from days gone by.
Cheers. We were glad of the air con today!
Gutted I never got tickets this time round! Looks like an absolutely fantastic event!
Some lovely cars there mate.
Very very Rad show!!!
Hope the theme will remain in years to come!!
I'm going to have to bloody retrofit some headlight wipers 🙈
Fab video Ian! ❤️ Lovely chatting to you & Carly, half wondered if you were going to end the video on us all getting kicked out after every else had gone 🤣❤
ULEZ trying to get these cars off the road, these shows are two fingers to it and keep those flags flying for the old cars, keep them on the road and enjoy them.
Wow! A Wartburg 1.3!!!
I envy you, you have so many cool events in the UK.
All of these events I always end up only getting in AFTER you've finished filming haha
Unfortunately this time round was not for poor planning, my Renault 5 broke down on the way there! :(
Poor thing had the thermostat get stuck closed and overheated so badly it ran away - on a petrol engine!
Luckily I was convoying up with my boyfriend in the blue Triumph Acclaim, and we went together the rest of the way to the show so at least we didn't miss it in the end.
Oh no! Did see the Acclaim drive in. Looks a beauty.
Double thumbs up 👍🏻 👍🏻On an 80's theme, I'd love to see you film an episode on the original Honda CRX
It looks like you had another cracking day out. I love the 80's sound track from the synth heavy though to some dub. The bit with the classic Mini and 2CV was a nice touch as was the MG and MX5. Many thanks for sharing.
Fantastic selection of cars on display. The Freelander you showed looks like the same colour as mine, Cobar Blue. This is the only other one I've seen in that colour. I think mines is a few months earlier as it is on an R plate.
Look like a great day out
another great video has always Ian and miss hubnut and hublets and hubmutt 👍
Thanks!
Thank you!
The cars off my youth 😮😂
The SVX is a dream car of mine. Love the moving seatbelts and the wedge shape 😍
Hallo fam, the seatbelts on UK SVXs don't move in the same way the perimeter belts did on USDM cars, they just have a manually operated, fold out extender which helps the driver and passenger grab the belt without having to twist round uncomfortably!
@@jonburgess4179 Didn’t know that, I assumed most of the ones in the UK were US imports.
@@Sid3300 Europe received SVXs to home market spec, and even if it (and the UK) didn't, it would make more sense to import them in from Japan as both countries have RHD cars. There are about 50 SVX/Alcyones on UK roads at the moment with some more on off-road notices (on record, but not being used on the roads).
Good stuff 👍
Plenty to see there 😊
Hey I only saw two off my favourite cars in this whole video is the Vauxhall Nova and the Volkswagen Golf Mk2 GTI.
Great video Ian and Carly, some awesome 80 and 90's cars on display, I do wish Haggerty would do a show up near to Scotland like this, it would be a awesome day out.
Metro... a well aged fine whine. The rear lights on the Scirocco bring back memories. Craving a Panda Pop and some Pez.
Ooooooh so cool! Loved the synth intro!
Way too many cars to get (overly) excited about in this video, but i think the highlights for me were the two AX Sport. A mate of mine had a white one back in the 90s. What a truly fun little car, with a half way decent soundtrack provided by the twin carbs. Such a shame that we've lost the simple but hilarious cars from back then. They won't ever be replaced by the appliances we're supposed to be buying, and not quite know where to charge, now a days.
Great show. I'm trying to work out what 90's car would best go with your look....Suzuki Vitara soft top, wide arch kit, slammed. 😁
Oh yes! Saw a Frontera today with colourful side graphics. Also ideal.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Great video Ian , I like the way you have done it with the music , I’m gutted I didn’t even know it was on , I’m in walking distance from there
Great video love it. You should have taken your invacar as there where loads around in the 80's
Crap at towing though. 😉
@@HubNut Oh well me too Ian.
Oh good I'm glad that Tempra's still about, saw it once not far from where I used to live in a undisclosed location somewhere in the midlands some years ago
Yooo I was behind the punto at 7:05 in the video in my Honda crz
Ha i was in the punto...great day
That Camargue at 13:53!
Seeing all the hot hatches brings back so many memories. Like racing a pair of Suzuki Swift GTI 's up the M1 to Alton Towers. I was in my sister's company car, Citroen AX GT, surprisingly capable and faster than the chassis ! Now, you can hit similar speeds in a modern car and you might as well be on the High Street for all the excitement you get from them. Lovely to see a celebration of the mundane as well as the exotica. Loved the Rover SD1, gorgeous car but mine died of the dreaded tinworm, like so many cars of the 80s and 90s.
Great video, nice editing.
Love that Mrs. UPnDOWN story
You had me with the green FIAT camper van in the intro lol
Liked the Proton. I had an F reg 1.5 saloon probably one the earliest ones imported. My parents had a P Rey 1.5 saloon.
Lovely cars.
Darn I wish they had one of those in my country
In the 'states, Radwood is loaded up with the cars that us Gen X'ers grew up with. You would expect to see third generation Camaros and Firebirds (GM F-bodies), Foxbody Mustangs, Saturns, Geo Metros (Suzuki Swift) with 90's pastel color accents on them, and due to the west coast flare, you'll see lots of Volkswagens and Japanese pickup trucks, usually with low rider wheels and pastel color accents. Maybe the occasional surviving Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. No Civics, as all of those were ruined following the movie Fast and Furious 😂
I did say hi, really nice to say hello. 😊 keep up the good work guys. Oddly I parked just behind Bella in the blue R35 gtr
Love the hat lol.
Very nice collection of cars there; you need to get a pair of Ray-Bans for this era! I'd say my favorite was the Honda Accord Aerodeck, the body style I wished we'd gotten in the States, instead of the boring ol' hatchback model; would've traded my '84 Accord in a heartbeat, if the A'deck was available in 1986!
My car featured in hubnut video ✅
Word !
Very surprised to not see a BX clicking it's way around the paddock
There were two XMs (one on a beavertail having been bought that day!) but I didn't manage to get a camera near them. Definitely an event that needs BXs though.
So much want, I could never choose. Those Toyotas and Nissans have simply disappeared from US roads. I want my MK2 GTI back so much
Really nice show and should have taken my celica vert, not in the mind space and enjoying my MK4 CRV to much
ooh, did I need that. for me, that was pure Gran Turismo. surprised you didn't tag the Barchetta. and I think the S13 was a Jacks because of the ABS wheel covers, but I could be wrong. a Tigra was a tuning fave of mine.
👌👌👍👍🙏🙏🇨🇮🇨🇮
Ian without a doubt the raddest thing there was your Mullet😂😂😂
to be fair to the lotus esprite owner he wasn't going to the meet he thought it was the car park for a carvery ! he was jonesing for potatoe crockets
That red Astra early in the video wasn’t an Astra, it was an Opel Kadett SR
Ah thanks. Hard to tell with no badges.
16:39 then he took the engine out of one and put it in a Hillman imp also it nice to see a saxo facelift vtr that hasn't been modified
cannot cope with light bearded ian
I don't like it myself. Working on growing a new beard.
You often forget how cars from the 1970s 1980s and 1990s were so well deigned they such good looking cars the ugly stick wasn't used on these cars and they are still running and to think they are 30 40 and some are 50 years old just the fact they were built do well although they are cared and kept going by there custodians and worked on in ten years time they will be much older
“I’m going to finish on another UA-camr’s car”…that ain’t right man, I hope you cleaned up after yourself.
The cars that were still on every street corner yesterday.
Definitely needs more Citroen A-types there, and more Betamax stuff too, cos can't get more 80s than the rainbow shoulder strap of a Betamovie camcorder... :P
I love how you try to call out and name every car, it is something I do always unconsciously😅. But I still need your help for some older and British vehicles
I could do with a hairy Citroen man. Not for 20 years, mind. Just long enough to teach me what I need to know! 😂 I never make it to Radwood, thinks it's a fair distance from me. Love that Katie won. 🤗🏆
There are quite a few hairy Citroen men about. Never say never!
AY UP MR HUBNUT
Hey wait, the 90's was just recently wasn't it? Oh hang on, yeah, errm, I'm old!!!!
When seeing a show like this posted on UA-cam I look for the inclusion of the Mk1 Honda CRX twin cam , I have a 1986 version but I never see them, are there any left that are on the road. Mine is used regularly. 🙂
So very rare. I last saw one at Retro Japanese in 2018 I think, or possibly a Japan Classic Sunday meet in The Netherlands. I'd love to drive one if I could find one!
Friend of mine still has one, with a nice custom airbrush she did herself. Not in best mechanical condition anymore, and some rust of course 😢
