Another excellent video Joe! persistence is the Mother of Success! I don't have a Gold Bug Pro but I do have a Gold Bug 2 that I absolutely love. One commentator asked about the Gold Bug 1 and how it compares with the Gold Bug Pro. Can't really comment on that. But I do know that My Gold Bug 2 finds a lot of gold reliably and I would never part with the machine. The GB2 frequency is 71KHz and this is the highest freq machine out there specifically created by Fisher Research Laboratories to find small gold. But don't limit yourself... for larger gold it will zip on that too without any problems. The GB2 has features that are advantageous to the gold detectorist that the GB1 does not have. Hope this helps someone out there. There's enough gold out there for everyone!
In this video you mention lowering the gain to make the threshold run smooth. In your videos showing how you set up the Gold Bug 2 you have the sensitivity set to max. Can you explain the reason in different settings? I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks for the video. I have the same machine and would love to see a few more demo's and see what the settings on the machine are. I kind of get frustrated with the numbers changing like they were with you and have thought that the machine was basically going beserk so I obviously dont quite know what it means when the goes from say 49 to 64 to50 and so on. I thought it was just due to mineralized ground making it all that much harder to find a target.
That and the speed of your waving the coil,slow down scan sweep and numbers should be stable enough for you.coil is sensitive to the environment.just saying

The GB2 is a dedicated gold machine and is superior to the GBPro when it comes to detecting tiny nuggets. But the Pro is not too far behind and is definitely a better all-around detector. It is able to hunt parks and beaches in addition to the gold fields.
I was wondering that area looks like a sandstone sedimentary bedrock with clay clasts( since you break them up using fingers) Nice vid and quite a revelation to me that a nugget could be found in such a sediment.

What would you suggest for beginner like me, GB2 or GB Pro. I stay within few km around gold mine area. Wish to start new hobby using GB.
