John Donovan is what true Patriotism looks like. The left and right should live in absolute terror and fear of a CIA agent going rogue and taking out the trash. Only in fiction will we sadly see someone take their oath to the Constitution seriously. And "making things right no matter how long it" takes.
Why do Ameicans even like JFK? He wasn't president long, but like Biden you don't need to be president long to do a lot of damage. But managed to install a dictator in vietnam and start the war in Vietnam. Not only that his family was corrupt.
Hopefully you enjoyed Stones Unturned as I did. During my first play, for whatever reason, I believed Donovon was going to betray Lincoln. This a wicked game especially when you make a certain choice and the ending BLOWS YOUR MIND. One of the greatest moments of in all of the games I've played.
This was the most out of left field moment in any game for me. No one can say they saw it coming or even how the hell it could have connected to anything. I always like to think that (if you had Lincoln choose to leave New Bordeaux) that he is outside in his muscle car waiting for Donovan... and they are gonna start hunting down those involved with JFK's assasination.
*Donovan walks out of the building towards a parked muscle car, he then gets into the passenger seat instead of the driver's seat, as there was Lincoln already sitting there* Lincoln: So, you're done? Donovan: Yeah, you should've seen his face he's shocked like a school girl Lincoln: Where do we start next? *Lincoln starts the car's engine, while Donovan lights a cigarette* Donovan: Let's get some ice cream first, I'm starving Lincoln: Ice cream? You serious? What next gonna take me out on a date? Donovan: Ha ha fuck you, let's get outta here I'm starving alright *as the car droves away All Along The Watchtower performed by Jimi Hendrix plays again then the screen fades to black, roll credits*
I can't say I saw him shooting the senator in the face, but I did see something unexpected coming. At the beginning he acknowledges that any information provided during this hearing can be used against him, and then he goes on to confess multiple crimes that would put him in jail for decades if not the rest of his life. Donovan isn't exactly the turn-himelf-in type, so if you're paying close attention you know he's about to pull some wild sh** to get out of this situation

I find him badass in the same way I find Rorschach badass: I enjoy seeing him do what he does in fiction, but if someone like him turned up near me, I’d be scared out of my mind.
the idea of a small handful of conspirators being responsible is actually quite plausible, as opposed to a grand conspiracy involving a huge shadow gov.
Keep in mind this is AFTER he's told these senators and representatives the entirety of what Lincoln did during the Summer of '69. He really did want people to see not only what he did but what was said.
This is one of the sickest things in the story of video games, how this story very slowly was unwrapping throughout the whole game and we get an insane conclusion like this...
I remember playing the game and I thinking to myself why the hell would he rat out Lincoln like that, and this Easter egg popped in I was oh ok that makes all the sense in the world now.
It's so disgusting that this game was let down by it's repetitive gameplay and lazy game structure that its story is completely dismissed by most people. Lincoln Clay and his story have to be one of the best written ones in a game, if only the game would have been shorter and more focused on what it wanted to achieve then Mafia 3 would have been regarded as a masterpiece. It's sad that we will probably never see any continuation to this cliffhanger or what happened to Lincoln.
Mafia 3 is a great game. The “repetitiveness” is seriously exaggerated. It’s repetitive yes but it’s still fun to play and it makes sense. Every racket you take over hurts Sal Marcano. Also the game structure wasn’t lazy.
@@joshuawillis602 it's not exaggerated, the final hours of the game feel like a chore to do, i know because i played all the way from start to finish, dlc included.
@@joshuawillis602 Delusional at best. I love this game, but that does not mean i should ignore its flaws, especially the obvious ones. Neither should you. I have played many games that have many repetitive sections and gameplay, Mafia 3 is one of the worst ones when it comes to it. "Every racket are not the same and have unique qualities to it", most of them are do set amount of things and do it until you reach amount of money loss for Marcano, then do one underboss who basically is just a random dude, then do the same thing to get to the other underboss. That is the incredibly repetitive part of the game, the missions after doing these things ARE unique but that is because they are important characters in the story that you have to kill, Marcano´s family and friends, hence why they have actually interesting sections. The problem with this is that these unique Marcano missions are only a very very very small percentage of the game, most of the game is the repetitive missions
@@diegoestrada56 i disagree. I’m not saying it’s flawless because it is not. I’m just saying some flaws are blown out of proportion. For example you say the racket underbosses are just random people but that’s not true each and every racket boss have their own background that you can read in the kill list when you pause. The rackets are repetitive yes but each one has unique qualities to them. The overall goal is the same yes but the racket themselves vary in each districts with different ways to hurt the racket.
This story about what Donavan did seemed like it was added on to make you feel more of the story but i just don't see it I could see Donovan threatening the vc and scaring them into talking but i truly feel this was just added to the story by the writers Donavan had a good heart when he was in Nam, what he did was purely for the citizens and military I feel strongly connected to this game but i just don't agree this is what wouldve happened

He might return in the 70s or 80s mafia 4
@@kareemraider2844 - If not, he probably has an "apprentice"... That oughta spice shit up! ☠️
I had a friend named John Donovan and he fucking loves Mafia 3.
This was brilliant. I loved Donovan in this game. He was a brilliant madman.
I want Donovan in his own game for Christ's sake. Easily one of my favorite deuteragonists out there.
You know how the Senator was guilty?
He never denied it, just tried to scare John he'd get caught if he shot him.
There is no way that someone can watch through this entire cutscene and not think that Donovan is a fucking badass
I always just thought the CIA killed jfk to sway the public opinion of going to war. And used Oswald as a scapegoat.
Let's have a game about *Donovan,* for fuck's sake. 🔥
This game would've been boring without Donovan, this dude is cool.
The ENTIRE game was worth playing just for this scene. It caught me by surprise and man will it stay with me for a long time.
John Donavon was secretly a kingsman
Donovan's a badass
If we could only had a standalone game with Donovan. Freaking badass !
It's NOT an Easter egg if it is shown to you. You have to search for them just as you due during the Easter egg hunt.
I know just bunch of bullshit click bait all you have to do is beat the game to see this.
It's not a traditional video game Easter eggs I will agree but it's during the credits and in movies that's a Easter egg so yes it still is
2:34 “over and over and over again!”
Donovan is my spirit animal.
John Donovan , Defining badass since the 60s
If only a senate hearing was that quick and easy
Keep in mind this is AFTER he's told these senators and representatives the entirety of what Lincoln did during the Summer of '69. He really did want people to see not only what he did but what was said.
Imagine a spinoff where we play as Donovan for his vendetta that looks to be starting here.
God. Besides Vito or the brutal finishers, Donovan was by far one of the best fucking characters in the entire game
“SIT DOWN AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
was the third best part of this entire interview
Mafia 3 was an amazing game that didn't get the credit it deserved. The story alone is phenomenal.
In real life New Orleans in 1967, Jim Garrison (Lawyer, who became a Judge) started an private investigation of the JFK assassination.
This is one of the sickest things in the story of video games, how this story very slowly was unwrapping throughout the whole game and we get an insane conclusion like this...
I love this whole cutscene. His dlc was awesome too.
I remember playing the game and I thinking to myself why the hell would he rat out Lincoln like that, and this Easter egg popped in I was oh ok that makes all the sense in the world now.
Donovan and Mafia 3 took the franchise to whole new heights.
@@diegoestrada56 I beat the whole game and it is exaggerated. Every racket aren’t the same and have unique qualities to it.
This story about what Donavan did seemed like it was added on to make you feel more of the story but i just don't see it
I could see Donovan threatening the vc and scaring them into talking but i truly feel this was just added to the story by the writers
Donavan had a good heart when he was in Nam, what he did was purely for the citizens and military
I feel strongly connected to this game but i just don't agree this is what wouldve happened
"Someone’s breaking in“
There has been one Mafia game for every console generation. Cant wait until the 4th one comes out
"Let me me tell you where i was. A muddy hut in Vietnam, slowly dismembering an old women" said in the most casual tone is why Donovan was my favorite character in the game lmao
I pray to God if we ever get a mafia 4, he's the protagonist
Best thing about this game was Donovan tbh
3:06 lol Donovan even joking around with other senators. He must be Mafia 3 : CIA DLC and also a consigliere for another mob gang in Mafia 4
