I’m from ND and my family took a guys trip over to Detroit lakes to bass fish some surrounding lakes. We fished cotton lake for 2 1/2 days and caught 93 bass it was unbelievable! Most of the fish were actually on wacky rigs, swim jigs, and quite a few on frogs fishing some pencil weeds and pads! Bass fishing is always a good change from walleye!
Minnesota is by far the best state

My first time fishing this one small lake I had wacky set up. First time using my new baitcastor. I kept nesting but the fishing was slow so everytime I nested I would get a small bass while trying to unnest and I caught the most fish that day like 3 all on nests

Some day if you have a chance to head near anandale/maple lake area, there is a super weedy lake called Mink. Its just full of 16-20 inch 3-4 pound large mouths. Seriously, just big pig bass. Just give it a try on an off day. No joke.

This is what it's all about.
I always feel guilty in the spring because they are so easy to catch from the after spawn period. It's like you almost get board because they bite so easy. There's no effort to finding a good bite.
I’m having a hard time finding any fish over 4 pounds
I got a few over 4 during prespawn.
I know most lakes in metro are post spawn where I live by.
Does anyone have a water temp of a smaller to medium size lake north of Mille lacs? Brained or aitkin area?
