- SCP 080 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as Dark Form.
It is unknown if SCP-080 has a physical mass or "body", as all attempts to interact with it physically have failed and have been met with adverse effects.
Researchers and personnel have described seeing SCP080 as various shadows and humanoid effigies, with the only common attribute being two smoking "eyes". SCP-080 induces uncontrollable drowsiness upon anyone entering its chamber. After approximately 30 minutes, any person observing it will be forced into REM sleep and may suffer irreversible psychological damage.

@@IamDryEuropa Back in 2010 when they just came up with the ethics committee the foundation researchers and 05 council are 90% of the time more cruel and evil than the murderous and insanity inducing scps themselves.

From my observations? SCP-080, Is a predator of Shadow-Like Mass. Like a slime monster and anyone who views it only see a large figure with only spotting two eyes. Also SCP-080 main source of food is feeding off humans fear by inserting person anxiety and fear to something causing people a mental stress.

I love how accessible the animation style makes this kind of content. I love it and it's so interesting but I'm very skittish and easily haunted for days by urban legends and this sort of thing so I have to avoid it even if I'm curious. But this animation makes it a lot more comfortable, even if I do get scared sometimes lol.

It would be way more effective if the D-class were Briefed in a situation where they aren’t meant to die. They already know that they are in danger so they can understand the situation and give better results. That’s the best part about more recent scp foundation articles. D-class are still treated badly, but they are treated like employees more often than before. They are given what they need to complete their mission with as little chance of failure as possible (with cost cutting features of course)
That can have the opposite result to. Information especially when dealing with something you don't have proper explanations for, can bias the results pretty significantly.

@@benjaminkrouskop6046 well the issue in my opinion is that they weren’t testing for how it killed. They were trying to find out what it looked like. So maybe they could have let them know “hey don’t let yourself go to sleep or you absolutely will die.” They also could have let them out as frankly even outside of the ethics element the waste of resources is abysmal

On the north wall, an observation room is to be connected, overlooking the main room through a window with thick black-out curtains that release only when the door to the observation room is closed. No attempts should be made to remove SCP-080 from this enclosure at any time. No more than one (1) 7 W incandescent light bulb is to be illuminated in the main room at any time. Great. Sleep inducing monster are SCPs. I like this one to be honest.
My fear of the „dark“ is very situational. Usually I can sit in a dark, quiet room however sometimes I feel paranoia, as if something is watching me, which only in that situation would I use a night light or hallway light.
I wonder what would happen if we got someone under the effects of the sleep killers and have them have surgery that removes the fear response like a lobotomy and then have them try to interact with the entity. Seeing as the sleep killers call makes you unable to physically be able to enter rem sleep and the removal of fear would make approaching it much easier and might prevent the heart attack response as you can have a heart attack from too much stress from fear then we could get some results. Of course this would be fairly unethical but I mean no where as bad as what the foundation already is doing.

I used to be so scared of the dark. Growing up I have this memory of my Barbie’s walking around and moving while they thought I was sleeping… is was weird. Idk if it was a dream or what but it scared me so bad I started telling them I loved all of them before I went to bed so they wouldn’t hurt me when I went to sleep lol.
I also have this memory of waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I had fallen asleep on the couch with my dad. I had to use the bathroom so bad. To get to the bathroom I had to go thru the kitchen but it was so dark. I stood in the doorway and I could just tell something was off. I tried to wake my dad up for so long I started to cry. I finally got the courage to just go. Half was they the kitchen out of the dark I seen something running towards me. I backed up so fast and it looked like a black dog. But it was bulky and looked weird. I ran back to my dad and went back to sleep. Looking at the doorway the whole time before I passed out…?.

I find so intriguing that in the majority of cases the SCP itself isn't doing anything directly harmful to the Subjects, but then they either die of Fear, Suicide, or they don't die but have horrible nightmares.
That story of the agent having the water nightmare reminds me of one I had once. Deep water already scares me, but in this dream there was a giant megalodon-type monster trying to take over the world by flooding it. Then it cut to me underwater, and I was being eaten by the thing over and over again, until I woke up

I think maybe I've encountered 080. I used to see this shadow figure, and usually when I did I would have these surreal dreams that felt so lifelike and they left me unsettled whenever I would wake up. I haven't had those in years though, and I also haven't seen that entity since then either

The ideea is that they will use any tension left in the psyche to create the most tense scenario during childhood(they attack the inner child part) in order to engulf around the astral body and then consume the vital energy and residual tension energy(both of this energies are mashe dup together around a person field of its body), usually they are regarded as neutral, but they can really eat out demons or people very stressed creating horrible panic attacks.
They mostly reside in limbo to gather when they are receiving gifts of dreams, hopes and drawings and at the borders between various lines of realities when a sleeper emanates their frequency to call.
They tend to ameliorate but they can be very lethal too.

Funny how you can go from sluggish running in dreams, and unable to flick on a light by a switch,
to being a lucid dreamer as you get out of your teenage years.
Now flight, telekinesis, and even phasing through walls can be called upon in my dreams.
