Brutally honest Review I love It... Unfortunately to people Who are Watching this video, This video Is the perfect summary And failure of The New Jersey Trenton Route. I too am Not shocked As I requested Dovetail To not rush out At least Wait a month or 2 On the forums Especially That we're getting a new train Sim World To keep us busy. Really is a shame Because it literally had the potential To being the best North American Route Only if they gave it the needed time Like They did On Brighton mainline,Dresden And southeastern high-speed SMH
To be clear, the reason the footage shown is glitchy and freezing briefly is because of the game, don't worry it's not your device you're watching this on
Yeah, i agree with you, we deserve better, been thinking about the NS sd70acu for Horseshoe curve as well as the CP AC4400CWM (i believe) for a new canadian route or even with CN
Again, I will NOT touch this route with a barge pole. Knowing is they stoop this low, they could just put a trainset in their office toilet block and release it as a DLC (of course I am being facetious), but at the end of the day, it is all aboard the DTG gravy train.
Gotta say, TSW has a big problem with broken signals. I wanted to finish the Nahverkehr Dresden journey of 13 chapters, BUT I couldn't even finish chapter 2 because 2 services have problems with red signals. In the 3rd service of the chapter some random train is stopping in the middle of a junction and causing red lights (it wouldn't move) and i decided to try the 4th service and another bug happened with a red light staying red and blocking the whole block when there was nothing there, please Dovetail, stop ruining your game as it's soo good the concept, graphics (are sometimes good) but the simulation but you are just breaking it!
Just a comment on what you mentioned about the bells: the ALP-46's were built with steel-bells but were upgraded to E-bells later on, so I assume dovetail just chose the modern day variant.
As someone from Philly, some of the blame has to go to septa because originally back in the days of TSW2, they apparently gave a verbal agreement to dovetail for the rights, but flipped their mind right before the deal
@@jwrailve3615they shouldve done London Kings Cross to Doncaster, or better yet, York. With branches to Linclon from Newark Northgate and allow people to use class 387 and 707 to London Kings Cross via Stevenage and some local stops. The 717s have an option to be added to the northern city branch line but ill be happy if that was also included
Even if the line wont go north of doncaster in the new proposal I made, at least if they added the branch to Linclon then ill be a bit less dissapointed because then u can ultilize the dual mode changes at Newark Northgate
Another one by Dovetail's Failure. From a person who lives in Massachusetts, It's absolutely HORRENDOUS that DTG doesn't respect the source material. And that begs the question. Why the HELL American routes in the Train Sim World franchise treated very poorly? I'm mean, seriously, why? They treat the Europeans and British routes much better, but us Americans had to suffer the worst routes DTG had made for us. From linear routes, incorrect PIS systems that look like a British or European design, bad land view and textures, incorrect sounds from trains, and missing overhead wires. They really ruined the Canadian route "Oakville Subdivision" With the GP38, and GP9 with Terrible, HORRENDOUS sounds they made. The horns from the locomotive sounds like any other Cartoon train horn that would sound, GP38 has an E-Bell but the sound was so bad, they put a Mechanical Bell instead, rather make a sound of an E-Bell. Now watching the NEC New York-Trenton Route review remake, I was excited when they do some improvements like fixing AI Services, The AI Pantographs issues, and others stuff, but when it was released, I was devastated. They fix the issue I listed down, but the route looks even more worse than the OG version when it released back in February 21st, 2023. I hope DTG learns from the customers including all of you, (This is a quote from me) "that one day, multi-million and multi-billion dollar companies think they get away from everything, however they have to experience the consequences from the customers when they make bad DLC'S, Games, other merchandise, Increase prices, Etc., Customers would leave a bad review of the merchandise the company make. By the way, are you considering on getting the Maintalbahn (of which I am probably getting)? Edit: forgot to say but HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT STUTTERING!
That stuttering wasn't me messing with the footage in the editing process, that's how it was in the game. As for the Maintalbahn, I want to pick it up and make a review on it, because it should be a welcome change from the usual electrified German routes.

Not to defend them here, but I’m 99% sure all of the ALP46s have been updated with E bells. I live next to an electrified station and haven’t heard a physical bell on any of the ones I’ve seen.
You can find selective door opening on Bremen Oldenburg. So I would expect this behavior on any route created later than Bremen. You're right to demand this feature on routes like Harlem line or Trenton, where it's needed the most.
I gave up re-purchasing what really should have been free updates, or at least cheap patches when TSW4 came out. I have TSW/TSW2/TSW3 and will only buy when on sale. Basically, they can stick TSW4 where the sun don't shine. On a brighter note - TSW5 should be out soon.

I rember the first time running a service this route from Penn-Station to Trenton, I thought that the water looked horrendous compared to newer routes. Even before the timetable change I excpierienced lots and lots of lag in Penn Station. I have 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 1660 shouldn't that be plenty?! I also ran into the Acela problem on a NJT run ate the same part of the track, I lost my patience after a minute and quit, but I've never seen this problem on a German/UK route (as you said). I don't really have a problem with so many german routes considering I'm German but I DO have a problem with the german routes that ARE being made as they almost never are highly requested routes (with a few exceptions) we haven't even gotten Berlin for f*cks sake. I am a sucker for the Berlin S-Bahn - and not seeing such a highly requested route being made is infuriating - and yes DTG would have to make new train control systems as Berlin deosn't use the PZB - but if I were them that's the least you can do - add a highly requested route.
Considering that there's a couple of London routes in the game, it's bizarre that neither Berlin nor Washington DC have been featured yet. As for the upcoming Maintalbahn, I'm okay with that route choice because it's a non-electrified rural line.
@@DC4260Productions DTG probably threw the S-Bahn Berlin in the 'too-hard' bucket because oh no, they would have to do work to add it and get new licences from S-Bahn Berlin (it's technicially it's own thing, just owned by DB) and the VBB (Verkehrsbund Berlin-Brandenburg). If they do come around to adding the S-Bahn Berlin I would be really pissed if the effed up the sounds - and I can reference as I live in Berlin. I KONW how the sound
@@DC4260Productionswell for dc, dtg don't have a marc license. Only having amtrak traffic would make it a very quiet route. Marc adds in about 58 services to the section. The route from dc to Baltimore is also extremely bland. The scenery doesn't change at all and it's very straight
What's odd is that the stuttering issues don't seem to happen on the current Gen consoles, yet it is a mess on PC. I don't recommend this route either way. DTG have said they will fix the issues, but frankly, it isn't acceptable that the route released with so many problems to begin with and the new timetable brought more issues for pc and console players as well. DTG clearly don't properly test their content, which is a shame because this route could've been so good, but now I believe it is without debate, the worst route in tsw. American content always gets the short end of the stick.
In short if it is American it will be shit, as a console player i'm stuck with it as my only option to play with trains and what not, even dreaming that they make a couple routs i have in mind or some locomotives as well, but what really saddens me is to know that if they do them it's going to be treated so poorly that it's going to be a huge let down, like always
Unless they release Japanese routes (Cause i'm into those trains the most) I don't plan on ever playing TSW again I'll just stick to Simrail which is way better, I gave up on TSW way back in 2020 with the original release because once they released TSW2 knowing Dovetail I just knew it was gonna become a trend of shit and I was right. I can't wait to see the day when Simrail takes over i'm tired of Dovetail's lack of caring it's been 4 or 5 years later and it's still the same issues and annoyances as it was in 2020.
There is a Japanese route coming to TSW at some point (Aizu-Wakamatsu to Tadami), but I don't blame you if - even then - you still don't want to return to TSW. If anything, I continue reviewing this game to warn people of Dovetail's nonsense.
@@DC4260Productions I have never had any train sim and I'm thinking of buying the TSW4 special edition. It's very cheap right now, at 68 reais (13 dollars). Considering that it is not an update to me, but a new game (Since I don't have previous versions), and that it is this cheap and comes with 8 routes I think. Is it worth it?
Looks like Dovetail are still acting like This, I Uploaded a Creators Club Scenario called "Metrolink Takes Over Boston and 5 Minutes Later, They removed my Scenario Off the Creators Club due to "Copyright" alto I didn't copy Anyway, I e-mailed Dovetail, Tode them What happened and asked them Can they give me more information or unban the Scenario, What did they do?? They blocked the Email, What a Complete Joke this Is,
I recently bought it, thinking that ''Hey, New York to New Jersey could be fun''', cause the only American passenger route I had was the Antelope Valley, and I wasn't really into American railways, so I thought an electric one would be fun to have. After I've done my first service I realized how shit this route is. You neither go to NJ, nor you get to see almost anything of New York and most of the route is literally just straight track. I wish I found your review before I bought it, literally money down the drain :/
I'm glad I woke up the first week TSW3 came out on GamePass. Originally I was excited for the evolution of the game. The I saw the scenery pop ins, the horrible nuclear lighting, and the horrid disgusting stuttering along all the new routes. Free on GamePass and still I uninstalled. I do feel cheated by the clowns at DTG for having strung me along on promised fixes and enhancements to TSW2. On the other hand, their deceit has opened my eyes to the true nature of their company and has saved me hundreds of dollars in DLC purchases. So I'm done buying into their BS, but I can enjoy the laughs here with your videos. Keep up the good work. Your customer advocacy should be commended.
@@DC4260Productions Meaning you put the word out there to customers and potential customers about what they may be getting themselves into by buying X product (in this case TSW or in a broader sense DTG and its associated failings). You're basically providing a voice loud and clear from a customer perspective that is shared by many. Unfortunately I don't think DTG really cares that much and probably don't watch your videos. Their business model seems to include a community in the most pathetic sense. Like they provide a tech support ticket system, a tech support forum, and route suggestion forums yet all seem largely ignored unless an actual game breaking bug is found (i.e. the current state of TSW4 on Xbox). Anyhow, keep fighting the good fight. Your videos are informative and entertaining.
Can you also make some videos about the addons which are worth getting? I've been watching the channel for a few weeks now, and it seems that all of the videos are negative. The addons can't be all shit, or can they?
They said it would be made available for TSW3, but in vague terms. Soon after the release of TSW4, TSW3 was to get this and other fixes. However same old song and dance from DTG. What does soon mean? No idea. Same was said about TSW2 fixes and they never came because TSW3 was such a horrible mess that needed fixing. As we see with TSW4's launch they shit the bed yet again. So realistically, don't ever expect TSW3 fixes to come ever. If they ever do, just a pleasant surprise.
Tbh they even rushed the Birmingham cross city line they even got signs wrong on the passenger platform and they missed out kings Norton they're completely rushing their products just to get revenue
Ahh... Just checked my Steam account for TSW... Last Played July 2nd 2019... I can't say I am surprised that absolutely NOTHING has changed over 5 years in regards to the money grab for shit product. Exact reason they lost my support long ago...
This DLC is a showcase for how crap Downsized Game Textures are as a developer. $1dollar per mile for this sham is nothing short of a disgrace. Wonder if Focus Entertainment saw this stinker before purchasing the biggest dumpster fire of 2023.
I seriously wonder how much of a leash Focus has for DTG shenanigans. They bailed out a dying pig. They'd have been better off buying the TSW franchise and giving it over to a proper developer. Let's hope for a better future for this franchise. But as it stands, under DTG, this is a game worth avoiding at all costs.
Loaded up this route to give the 'free' version of TSW5 a go as its been sitting in my collection unplayed. Wow. It's terrible. Easily the worst route I've played, and I have most of them. Stutters badly on PS5, looks bland, and on the first trip as part of the 'journey' after the training, I think I passed a total of five AI trains total.
DTG of course dont care much of US content..i still give Joe credit for the new tinetable and i def didnt think he would add the real AI timetable of LIRR like that...also how on earth is Newark Penn Station STILL dont have a crosspath for platforms. And then at NYP, STILL no passengers on platforms(based on videos and reviews)...And they dropped the ball not even adding a small section of NJCL at least to South Amboy and at least Newark Broad Street, smfh. But the Dresden route gets multiple branches...I forgot what time period this dlc was set in??
You can't have everything. Dra only has 2 (cowsig, meissen). Meissen only got added post launch and one branch was cut completely. It's not perfect either
@@potatoman451I'm not asking for "everything" and still the Dresden had the added branch a month or 2 months after launch..This Trenton dlc was released many months ago, they could've added jus that small(not whole) part of the NJCL..Even the Boston-Providence dlc has two branches.
The Dresden route also has the 23km fast line, which is nice. I think of that as a branch. Also there's the rather short but appreciated Röderau branch.
this is why i fully quit buying dlc for those games its always over priced and what do you get in complete routes two trains if your lucky and so much reusing and we get forget DTG selling stuff "separately" and slaping on a outrages price am honestly dun whit DTG and them always putting there dirty fingers in my wallet like seriously why cant they just do it RIGHT and listen to the community
Wait for a sale. For instance right now you can get both NEC (NY and Boston) and the Accela for under $39 USD for all three. That's about $13 each. The Acela on the Corridor is one of the very few lines that people actually like to ride on. Meanwhile other passenger trains are usually almost empty, all over America. Except for Acela on the Corridor, almost nobody from lower class to the wealthy wants to ride on a passenger train. Only the very poor. America's motorways are far more extensive. Small county roads are wider than UK major motorways. As for long freight drags, these are American icons that people here know about and love. And want to emulate by simulation. Services on large commuter lines are few in number in real life, because who would want to actually go by rail and sit beside strangers instead of friends and family? Remember, America is not civilized. Our policemen wear pistols because they absolutely have to do that. Public transportation and apartment living among strangers is risky and almost never desirable. Look at model railroading in America. Everybody wants freight cars and industries and shunting. Few want to model passenger trains.
My class 700 is still broken so i don’t have any hope for tsw anymore. I don’t even have the excitement to buy 4. The passenger behavior and stuttering really is starting to annoy me
Oh my the optimisation is some of the worst yet! Every couple of seconds in your video it's move, pause, move, pause. TSW3&4 routes are atrocious to play. Are DTG fanboys really this blind? I could never play KSW, SEHSE, or CP as they made me nauseous after 10 minutes. TSW2 remains the height of this franchise despite it also having severe flaws.
For me, I've played much worse games performance wise. When I run on my potato laptop, performance is poor by default. When I use my external gpu, tsw is quite smooth to me on most routes. Everyone has a different experience
idk why, but the fact the NYC skyline isn't visable drives me nuts.
Same here iam glad it is visible in TSW1 NEC route when going over the hellgate bridge , that was probably my favourite part about it.

The Roblox version is better than this lol 😂 💀
Again UK PIS screens?
There's a Roblox game on the NEC from NY to Philly and it's better than this route 💀💀💀
And it's free
Wow, not roblox kicking DTG behinds

@@DanielSilva-gc4xz 13$??? If you can find it that cheap definetly buy it
Is the stuttering part of the actual game or just my phone
It was actually in the game.
It’s the game
Looks like Dovetail are still acting like This, I Uploaded a Creators Club Scenario called "Metrolink Takes Over Boston and 5 Minutes Later, They removed my Scenario Off the Creators Club due to "Copyright" alto I didn't copy Anyway, I e-mailed Dovetail, Tode them What happened and asked them Can they give me more information or unban the Scenario, What did they do?? They blocked the Email, What a Complete Joke this Is,
That's just wrong
I recently bought it, thinking that ''Hey, New York to New Jersey could be fun''', cause the only American passenger route I had was the Antelope Valley, and I wasn't really into American railways, so I thought an electric one would be fun to have. After I've done my first service I realized how shit this route is. You neither go to NJ, nor you get to see almost anything of New York and most of the route is literally just straight track. I wish I found your review before I bought it, literally money down the drain :/
What do you mean you don't go to New Jersey? Basically all of the route is in New Jersey.
What do you mean by 'customer advocacy'? I don't think I've ever heard that term before.
Geez No wonder why NEC New York to Trenton is worse then NEC New York of TSW1
definitely not 😭, i’ll admit nyt is bad but it’s far more fun than the original
Just get Simrail at this point. Way more fun and more realistic.
Can you also make some videos about the addons which are worth getting? I've been watching the channel for a few weeks now, and it seems that all of the videos are negative. The addons can't be all shit, or can they?
Yes, there are still some add-ons that I like, both in TSW and TS classic.
He does like niddertalbahn and dra to name a few
Thanks For The Video You Saved Me $40.00. On Playstation 5
How do you access this update if you own tsw3 but not tsw4
You don't yet
They said it would be made available for TSW3, but in vague terms. Soon after the release of TSW4, TSW3 was to get this and other fixes. However same old song and dance from DTG. What does soon mean? No idea. Same was said about TSW2 fixes and they never came because TSW3 was such a horrible mess that needed fixing. As we see with TSW4's launch they shit the bed yet again. So realistically, don't ever expect TSW3 fixes to come ever. If they ever do, just a pleasant surprise.
I can’t fine this dlc for the Xbox on train sim world 4 :(
Awful just awful. Stuttering and they killed the passengers!
Exact reason they lost my support long ago...
fully agree with you on this one
Yup im definitely buying sehs rather than nec
@@acratone8300 this is the only way these dlcs are worth it getting. Waiting for the 60-90% sales.
My class 700 is still broken so i don’t have any hope for tsw anymore. I don’t even have the excitement to buy 4. The passenger behavior and stuttering really is starting to annoy me
What's broken abt it
Oooh lemme guess, AI driven 700s not using their lights? (this is an issue I’ve only seen happen for PS5 players)
Well said 👏🏻
I agree with you. I like american route but they messed it up.
