Hi Brent , my cuestion for you is , How to set up my Canon xa11 to record on both sd cards , I tried but not good results for now , can you explain me how to do it , if so thanks so much !
Hi Angel. When you record, you can use Dual Recording to record to both cards simultaneously or you can use Relay Recording so that if the first card becomes full, recording will continue on the other card. Either can be activated by pressing [FUNC.] > [MENU] > [Recording Settings Tab] > [Dual/Relay Recording] > [Desired Setting]. If you are unable to use Dual Recording, check the frame rate you have set. Dual Recording is not available when shooting at a frame rate of 59.94p. We hope this information helps!
@@CanonUSA , Do you recommend to use frame rate of 29.97 for events like weddings , sweet fifteen, social events, etc. I ask that question because that's the only way I can record on both memory cards at the same time on (Canon XA11 )
Canon USA it's disappointing that you can't have dual recording that the 59.94 P frame rate. That's the one disappointing feature you have not made a change on. Is it due to the processor? I own xa10 and xa20 and like the higher frame rate

I bought the XA11. The camera is splitting my shots into multiple clips. It has happened the first three times I used the camera. It happens every 16 minutes. This is a problem when shooting a press conference or campaign event. It happens every time. Is this a matter of changing a setting or is there problem? Please advise what to do ASAP.
Hi there! For scenes with a long recording time, the video files will be split approximately every 4 GB. Playback will still remain continuous in-camera. Also, you can use the Data Import Utility to join files split this way into a single file and save it on a computer. We hope this information helps!
It’s very upsetting to learn this important detail now. There’s a noticeable tick in the audio at the split point. And you have to do all modifications/edits/corrections multiple times.
Владимир Видилин Владимир Видилин Thank you for the suggestion. I checked the manual and that setting is lower quality. I will have to weigh the pros and cons. I frequently use five Panasonic camcorders set at 1080 60p for multicam shoots. I have recorded many single uninterrupted files that are more than 60 minutes... Now that I have used XA11 in different settings I like it more despite this issue. It’s a good camera for ENG run-and-gun.
You may want to review your recording settings. Note that Dual Recording is not available when the recording mode uses a frame rate of 59.94P. Hi Howard. There is an accessory shoe on the top of the handle unit, so you should have no problem mounting it just as you would to a Digital SLR camera. We hope this helps!
Hi Roger. When comparing the XA15 to the XF105, you'll find the XF105 is the more advanced of the two. Both are professional quality camcorders with many similarities, such as dual memory card slots, Full-HD recording, Slow & Fast Motion recording, as well as many other features. The biggest difference between them is the codec used (XF Codec vs AVCHD). We hope this helps!
Hi Dalwinder! In order to use the viewfinder, you must close the LCD panel (you cannot use the LCD and the viewfinder at the same time). Hi, Abduvohidjon! This video was made for viewers in the United States where video monitors typically run at approximately 30 and 60 fps in accordance with NTSC video standards. If you have a camera that was intended for sale in a place that uses PAL video standards, your available frame rates will differ from what's shown here. Hope this helps!
I don't think you understand. What is different between the G21/XA11/XA15 release, and the G40/XA30/XA35 models. On paper they seem, as far as I can tell, identical. Unless I am missing something, all I can tell is that the new cameras do not include a remote, and video out cables.
Hello again, Bill. The XA11/XA15 and XA30/XA35 are basically the same, with the higher number having the HD/SD-SDI terminal. The accompanying HF G-Series model has most of the same features, but does not have certain pro-level features like the top handle, which has built-in XLR inputs and various controls that appeal to those using it for professional production.
I understand the difference between the cameras in regard to no top handle, XLR handle and HDMI only, or Handle and HD/SDI out versions... I get that. I'm asking what is the difference between the 2015 models, and the 2017 models. I'm talking about internals; Censor, Lens, Processor, Frame Rates, Resolution... I can not find a feature upgrade or technical difference on your website, or anywhere else, between the 2015 XA series, and the 2017 XA series cameras. I can not be more plain about this. What is the difference, other than these 2017 models are called something different, and do not include the Remote, Composite Cable, HDMI cable, USB Cable accessories?

Hi there. Please make sure the Advanced Image Stabilization function is enabled by opening the [FUNC.] > [Image Stabilizer] menu, then select either [Dynamic] or [Standard]. Dynamic compensates to a higher degree, which is good when shooting while walking and at wider angles. Standard compensates to a lower degree, which is good while stationary and when you are looking for more natural looking scenes. We hope this helps!

Hi John: The answer would be yes and no. The XA15 can be used for live streaming, as it can output Clean HDMI from the HDMI port. In terms of connecting it, or any camera to the HDMI on your computer, you will need some type of video capture card or device. The HDMI port on most all computers is an OUT port, meaning you can send video out of your computer but that port cannot accept an INPUT source, like from your camcorder. The Canon Livestream website, at the following link, describes the process under the Clean HDMI solution: www.canon.us/livestream Note this will involve the purchase of accessories, like a capture card, that Canon does not sell. Hope this helps.

Hi Canon, what is the sensor size of XA 11 (in inches) ? Also, does it have NTSC/PAL selecting options in the camera ? Please reply.

Hi Canon, I checked in the specification of the camera. It is mentioned as Television system : NTSC. So if I am buying it in India (PAL system country), is there a PAL model available. I mainly work with practical light sources. So I am worried about the flicker issues NTSC system can cause in PAL countries. Please help. Customer care number is not giving proper reply.
Hi. Please advise. Can the XA15 focus on myself for solo piece to camera work please? This camera falls within my budget range, and want to use it over my canon 60D dslr. Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thank you. Alistair
Hi there! When autofocus is active, you can have the camcorder actively track your face while hand-holding it and recording. You can even flip the LCD to face you, making it easier to compose the frame while recording. We hope this helps!
Can I use the XA11 for live video streaming. If so, I assume I just attach the camera to my laptop using the HDMI connection (correct)?
Hi, Roy! The XA11 does not offer a clean HDMI output. For more information on streaming from Canon camcorders, including a list of supported models, check out canon.us/cleanhdmi

How do you get the blured backgroud effect when you focus on person?
Hello:
You can blur the background behind your subject, by recording with a large aperture setting. The easiest way to do this is to use the Special Scene Recording Programs on the camera and to select the [Portrait] mode. This is described on page 65 of the camera manual. Here is a shortcut: Canon.us/5n2bp.
We hope you find this useful.

Can I use XA11 for live streaming on Facebook and UA-cam?
HI Adediran:
Yes, you can stream with an XA11. This camcorder outputs the video and audio signal through the HDMI terminal on the camera. You will still need a third-party capture device to transfer the signal from the camera to your computer.
We hope this helps.
I just ordered the XA11 and was wondering if Telephoto and Wide Angles lens existe for this model her in Québec Canada 🇨🇦?!?
Hi there. The XA11 can be used with either the TL-H58 Tele-Converter or the WA-H58 Wide Attachment. While we only have availability information for the US, our friends at Canon Canada can help with this. You can reach out to them from their website at www.canon.ca We hope this helps!

CanonUSA , thanks so much for your answers !
@@CanonUSA , Do you recommend to use frame rate of 29.97 for events like weddings , sweet fifteen, social events, etc. I ask that question because that's the only way I can record on both memory cards at the same time on (Canon XA11 )
Hello again. A frame rate of 29.97 should work great in those situations.
Canon USA it's disappointing that you can't have dual recording that the 59.94 P frame rate. That's the one disappointing feature you have not made a change on. Is it due to the processor? I own xa10 and xa20 and like the higher frame rate
I also have Xa11, but the problem is, it's record grainy videos while we shoot in indoor for online classes, despite I provide adequate amount of light💡, I tried several hits n trail methods n done every kind of setting to adjust it but the problem remain same. Please do sort out my problem 🙏

@@CaesarDarias You should use AVCHD recording wrapper. It's selectable in the menus. I'm not happy about this in my cameras too.
Anyone tried dual recording on XA11? We cannot enable this feature ( since that option is always grey out) on the setup screen. Any tips?
You may want to review your recording settings. Note that Dual Recording is not available when the recording mode uses a frame rate of 59.94P. Thanks for your quick response and the info. Our frame rate is always set to 24, so that should not be the root cause of our problem.
@@CanonUSA Great news, problem solved... Finally learned that the option of dual recording can be selected only when the camcorder is set in Auto/Manual modes but not available if it is in Cinema mode. 😅
Howard. can you fit a rode video mic pro+ to the handle ? please.

Which one is bettter, or what are the differences between the XA15 and the XF-100?
How i use view finder in canonxa11 camcorder
Hi Dalwinder!
In order to use the viewfinder, you must close the LCD panel (you cannot use the LCD and the viewfinder at the same time). Next pull out the viewfinder as shown on page 20 of your manual. Next turn on the camera with the power switch on the camera. Finally adjust the viewfinder using the dioptric adjustment lever located on the bottom of the viewfinder. Here is a link to the manual for more details: Canon.us/5n2bp.
We hope this get you up and running.
What's the difference between this and the XA30?

Why my camera is 25 fsp, 50 fsp
You have 23 fsp, 29 fsp, 59 fsp
Hi, Abduvohidjon! This video was made for viewers in the United States where video monitors typically run at approximately 30 and 60 fps in accordance with NTSC video standards. If you have a camera that was intended for sale in a place that uses PAL video standards, your available frame rates will differ from what's shown here.
Hope this helps!
@@CanonUSA Thanks and good luck to the Canon team ...
What is the difference between these and the XA30/35? I can't figure it out.
Hi Bill. The difference is the XA35 has an HD/SD-SDI terminal. Hope this helps.
Hi. Our team of experts will be happy to go over the details of the individual camcorders with you so you have an accurate comparison of each one. so, can I change the camera lenses?
Hi Luis. The lenses on the XA15 and XA11 are fixed, so they cannot be changed out for others. We hope this answers your question.
hi. how do I stabilize the images on XA!!?

Can I use the XA15 for live video streaming. If so, I assume I just attach the camera to my laptop using the HDMI connection (correct)?
Hi John:
The answer would be yes and no.
