Great tutorial. For little galaxies silver shavings are used. I use a regular metal file and a silver dime held in vice grips. Roll the glass into the shavings and encase.
Hi Robert! ✨ I love your idea, sounds beautiful! I have some silver somewhere 😂 I will have to search for it though! Thanks so much for your input! Glad you enjoyed this one! Cheers- Robin ✨💫🌹💫✨
Your videos are wonderful! You explain and show every step clearly. I also love that you speed parts up so we don’t have to sit through an hour long video, or worse, fast forward and miss some key steps! Keep up the wonderful work. You are awesome!!
Hello Marie! Thank you so much for such a sweet comment! I truly appreciate it! 🥰 I am so glad you are enjoying these demos! I wanted to make them easy to follow for everyone. There are so many videos out there that do not give a good close-up view or easy to follow directions…I am hoping to change that! 😅 Thanks again, Marie!! Cheers - Robin 👋🏽✨🌹✨🌹✨💫
Wow one of my favorites beads …. I like your technique makes it a little easier to make . Thank you Robin .. your tutorials always motivate me . Love the necklace and ring 👌Greets from Belgium 🔥🔥🔥🌹🌹
Hello Brigitte! 👋🏽 ohhh Belgium! Where abouts ? I’m so glad I can be a motivator! I just wish I could motivate myself sometimes 😂😂 I’m glad you liked this technique…it seems to work every time. 👍🏽 I can see it with so many canes, colors and combinations! Beautiful! I have had that necklace and pendant forever! The little doll is all wooden carved with moving parts 🥰. Big Hugs and thanks again! Robin 🌹✨💫🖤
I hope we motivate each other 😂😂😂 you have to know that a lot of people are excited when you put on a new tutorial I can tell you I do 🤗🤗 I live in the beautiful city Gent … I’m so thankful that you share your knowledge I know it’s a lot of work . Take good care and hello to Patrick . Big hugs 😍🌹🔥
Hi Gloria! The link to the High Silver Colloidal Cane is at the end of this demo. Or you can go to the 101 playlist and look for 101.54. Thanks so much for your comment!! Cheers- Robin 🥰🌹✨👋🏽
Hello Barbara! 😁🌹 Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment and am glad to hear that you’re enjoying the demos! ✨🌹🌹🌹 Hoping to get to 101.99! 😂👍🏽 Cheers- Robin 🌹💫✨🌹
Once again I love your video it really helps me develop my techniques. Adding a clear glass bead is easier than melting glass to make your ring and heating the whole thing up and distorting it. thanks again
Hi Sandy! Using a pre made bead helps! Also, I will use a thicker mandrel if I need a bigger bead hole. Glad to hear that these demos help your overall technique!! 😅🥰 Thanks so much for sharing!! Cheers- Robin 🌹👋🏽✨💫✨💫
@@scottwoodresearch thank you for these hints I will use them and appreciate your talents and knowing your always learning helps me know it takes time to gain expertise and experience. Have a terrific week!
That’s why I love glass so much….it’s a never ending learning experience! I feel like there is always something new to discover with this material. There is so much we can all learn from each other too! Big Hugs- 🤗✨🌹💫👋🏽
Thank you so much Brigitte!! Your contributions have helped me to purchase some oxygen and a bit of color! 😭🌹 I can’t tell you how much Both Patrick and I appreciate you! Thank you so much for you comments, support, and love! 🥰🌹✨ Cheers- Robin 😅✨🌹✨✨✨
Absolutely beautiful. That's what I wanted to with the cremains but the directions I saw had you building up the black background till you had a flat back on the pendant. It was just massive by the time I got the black on and then enough clear to push it out. I'll have to give your method a go.
Hi Linda! Well…that’s some strange directions!🧐. I am so glad this demo helped to clear things up for you. This technique works pretty much every time!! 😃 Thanks so much for your comment! Hope your doing well! Cheers- Robin 🌹✨💫👋🏽🌹🌹
Hi Robin, congratulations it looks great 👍 ! And thanks for the great explanations as usual! One question: when you make a colloidal cane with the Skiron do you use silver foil in it like in your video “high silver colloidal cane”, or not? How do you put the Skiron in the center? And if you use another glass, how can you get the blue hues? Many thanks, Robin! 🥰🙏
Hi Sonia! Thanks for your questions. I make it the exact same way that I make the in the colloidal cane demo…. This time I used the Skiron and put the silver foil right on it, then cover in clear, fold several times and then pull. Other colors work as well… any of the silver based colors, transparent Ruby and most of the double helix. I have not experimented with a lot of colors though…. A transparent is a must so you can see through it. That blue hue does not always show up… I think that it might have shown up so well because I reduced it before adding the black…but I’m not 100% sure 😅 experimenting is time consuming, but important! I hope this helps! Cheers- Robin 🥰💫🌹✨🌹✨🌹👋🏽
Hello Maggie! 👋🏽 I’m so glad you like this one….it’s a favorite! 😃 The tremors in my hands are always there….some days are better than others! I am glad it doesn’t show so much in the videos, it can be very frustrating! Please let me know if you found the Everything Flameworking playlist….it’s all there!!💕 Hope you’re doing well! Cheers- Robin ✨🌹✨🌹✨
Hello Amelia! ✨😃 The only colors in this pendant are the Skiron from Double Helix mixed with silver foil to make the High Silver cane and a Black background. That’s all!…Because the double helix color is a color with a lot of silver in it already…It will produce this beautiful blue hue on top of black. I was pretty amazed at the final results! 🌹✨ Glad you enjoyed!! Thanks so much for your comment! Cheers - Robin 👋🏽✨🌹💫
This is so cool Robin! I've actually made a couple of attempts at making a vortex pendant earlier this week, not galaxy though, my second attempt turned out pretty good but cracked when I was finishing the bail 😑, I almost always cracked my pendants when I try to make bails. I usually do what you did here and attach to a bead but that time it cracked so I had to freehand it. Now I gotta get some silver foil and try this! Anyway very cool!
Hi Buttercup! Sometimes I will make more than one bed just in case one of them cracks. I have also learned that if you are patient you can heal the crack immediately! As long as the bead does not fall apart you can heal it in the flame…. I do that first if I see a crack. Hope that helps. Thanks so much for your comment! Cheers- Robin 🤗🖤🦇🌹🌹🌹
Thanks for the advice. It had cracked all the way down to the mandrel, I was worried it would stick if the bead release had came loose where it had cracked. For future reference do you think it could be healed if cracked all the way through?
Hi Buttercup! Yes, I’d do think it would heal. However, there are times when it doesn’t look good or traps an air bubble. 😅 Plus, I have also kept working after a tiny bit of bead release popped off and I was able to get it off the mandrel when cooled. Cheers- Robin 👋🏽🌹✨
