Lampworking / Flameworking - Just for Fun - WigWag Wood Grain - 104 Glass Demo
Hi everyone! 🥰👋🏽 I love to pull all sorts of decorative cane and the WigWag Cane is still fairly new to me. So I thought it would be fun to make another one using the Reichenbach Multi Color rod. Do not be intimidated by this cane…it is much easier to make than it looks! And even though It didn’t turn out exactly how I expected, I absolutely love the design! 😂 It reminded me of cut wood!
Thanks so much for joining me!! ✨
Cheers to you all - Robin 🌈🌹✨✨✨

Hi everyone! 🤗🌹 Recently I was looking for a specific tool with a curved edge to it, so that I can press it into the glass. Love it! At first I thought you had just placed some stringer on the base bead randomly and then used your razor blade tool to make some indents. I’d love to see one where you don’t encase with clear just to see if the colour you used would react with the ivory. - Shelley

    Hi Robin, I love this effect! A glass I use which gives great colours is reichenbach ‘magic’. You do have to super-heat it to get the purples (so hot it goes clear) or another which gives more orange colours is iris orange stringers……. Just a thought x

    I love the way the pattern forms when you wrap the cane around a bead. Just as an aside, down here we call that pattern a zigzag rather than a wigwag.

      Hi Jirup! 🌹✨ Thanks so much! This pattern really surprised me…it looks so different from using it as stripes. lol…we call it a zig zag too but I think because it is more ‘wavy’ it’s known as a wigwag here! 😅 Hope you’re having a lovely beginning of your week! 👋🏽 Cheers- Robin 🌈🌹✨✨✨

    Robin, have you ever done "benderback" style wig wags? Instead of twisting, you come out of the flame and bend the Caine in one direction then reheat as you bend back the other way. You get a really tight result.

    Thank you so much for this video. I was asked yesterday to do a cremation bead for a beloved dog. Im a dog owner and I can relate to wanting to have a bead but never done it before. What was it that you cleaned the air with? And also Im thinking of not give a price and instead let the pet owner pay what it want and can afford...is that strange? I only do it on request. Thank you for the fantastic beads ❤

      @scottwoodresearch 11 днів тому

      Hi Kristina! ✨🌹 Sorry to get back to you so late… I’m so glad that this demo has been helpful! I have also had individuals pay what they can in these situations. A normal price for me is around $50 but I know not everyone can afford that… and I think it is

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch 11 днів тому

      I think it is ok to just ask your client to pay what they can…even if it is $10. As long as you are ok with it. Before I got started, I used a smudge stick to purify and clear the air (and myself) of any negative thoughts or energies. The one I used has sweet grass and white sage mixed together. It is not necessary but I find it calming and peaceful when working with such precious ingredients. ✨✨ Thanks so much for reaching out and sharing! I hope you are having a lovely weekend! Dear video uploader, I would like to ask a question to you: - Can I use the presonus audiobox itwo for line in record, while I recoring my movie on my iphone? With other words: the iphone recording the movie (the picture) while the presonus recording the sounds (line in). Thank you in advance, Thomas

    • @scottwoodresearch

      Hello Thomas.That is a great question. In my head I said yes. But I didn’t want to assume. So I tried it. The answer is indeed yes. I went from an old iPhone playing music to the AudioBox, then from that to the iPhone that I was recording video. And Yep, it works . You will need, however, a 3.5 mm (male) to 1/4 inch (male) stereo splitter cable. Again, great question. I hope this helps. Cheers! Patrick

    I would love to see blown ling pulled glass beads. I bought a tutorial, tried to follow the steps but at the end my beads are cracking and I just can't get them right .. thank you! Just an idea of you'd like

      And by ling I mean long

      @scottwoodresearch 21 день тому

      Hello Mirela! ✨🌹 Honestly…I have never made long blown beads! 😂 I have seen them….wondering if they are made with tubing or by building up a hollow bead on a mandrel? I would love to try but will definitely need practice first!🤗🌹🌹 I’ll see what I can do….Thanks for asking!! Cheers- Robin 🌈👋🏽

      I am trying to visualize what you mean by blown long pulled glass beads. Can you elaborate?

    • @mirelapopovici9077
      @mirelapopovici9077 21 день тому

      @@scottwoodresearch yes, at the end of the mandrel, but on a steel tube like a stainless steel straw, like a coil pot and close the top. Melt, blow, with a glass rod, connect it at the end, warm and pull slowly, then disconnect, remove some excess glass w tweezers, super heat that end, blow a hole, polish the end, warm the tungsten twizzers, pick it up, heat the steel to disconnect, finish the end. I have a tutorial and tried all the steps but mine crack as if I can't keep it warm enough.

      @mirelapopovici9077 ok! Wow! 😅 Thanks for the quick run down…I see how it would get cold and crack easily! Sounds fascinating and I will give it a try this weekend. Hopefully if it comes out well I will share! ✨🌹 Big Hugs to you- Robin ✨🌹🌈

    Hi Robin, l love your videos. Have been watching for a few years now. Would it be possible in the future to have one just on blowing shards? I always get a blowout. Need to know things like how much glass to use...is the glass at the end of the pipe solid or hollow....how can I find the weak or thin areas before blowing...thanks. Kris
