React to BRAMHASTRA its a indian superhero fantasy romance kinda film you will like it Action and vfx is great along with BGM. its not a perfect movie but its a visual experience ✌️
It makes sense that Fei always looks fabulous. Because of her powers, she's constantly seeing how she looks. The rest of us, it's only when we're looking in a mirror.
Elliot was open to playing Vanya but Gerard and writers thought Victor would be a cool plot.
The common practice is to use the current name. So Elliot and Victor.
But also cut yourself some slack for occasionally getting it wrong. I've been out for 3 years and still get some friend's pronouns or names wrong. Just don't be a dick and deadname/mispronoun people on purpose and you'll be fine most of the time. Can't speak for all of us but a lot of us don't actually give a shit as long as other folks are respectful.
@@Bajeeebus This! And also, don't overcorrect yourself. If you get a name or pronoun wrong, just correct yourself (i dont even expect people to apologise most the time) and move on.
It is kind of amazing how Elliot Page transitioning mapped so well with Viktor's arc of self-discovery. as far as I recall it was decided after Elliot's coming out, so it's likely that it wasn't the plan all along.
on the note of referring to a trans character as their deadname when discussing them pre-transition, I can't speak for all my fellow trans folk but I usually default to always referring to them as their current name even when talking about a past moment. that being said, I'm really happy that you guys are appreciating that aspect of the story this much! It goes to show that representing different experiences in storytelling isn't just in service of the group represented, but it allows people not in the group who don't usually get the chance to engage with those experiences a chance to think about things they usually don't have to think about.
Eric's enjoyment with this show is so wholesome. My favorite reactor
How I see it, the umbrella academy is a family but can’t work together, but the sparrow academy can work together but definitely isn’t a family. I feel like this was a choice from Hargreaves to raise them like a group instead of a family due to avoid the umbrella academy’s “failure”
"is that ur legal advice?"
"i'm not a lawyer"
"...not a doctor. fremulon"
perfect xD
In terms of knowing the correct name to use for Viktor, it's like what Eric said at 31:17, Viktor has always been Viktor, that's who he really is, so I feel (and I'm saying this as a cisgendered queer person so just offering from the perspective of having trans and nonbinary loved ones) that the best practice is to use the person's current name and pronouns, even when talking about things that happened before they transitioned. Viktor was always Viktor, Elliot was always Elliot. As always, I appreciate that you guys take the time to have these discussions and educate yourselves where you can and should 💕
Perfect response. This is exactly what everyone should do.
Sincerely a non binary queer :)
The only problem I had with this season is what they did with Allison, they made her really horrible, I know she "lost" her daughter but still
She was always pretty horrible tbh this season just showcased how horrible she is
She was always at the edge to the dark side so to say. She brainwashed her daughter and husband. She had fun in torturing the café owner. And so on.
I mean she pretty much always used her powers when she didn't get it her way.
So it makes sense that she takes it too far now because her powers can't help her here. She has pretty much always been an incredibly selfish person, who uses other people.
I’m curious as to how that breeds conflict next season; I’m assuming they will be fighting Hargreaves, but I wonder if he will treat Allison as the ‘legitimate’ daughter etc
She's in her Wanda Maximoff era
The grandfather paradox it's pretty easy to understand. Harlan killed off the Umbrella Academy by using Viktor's powers, but the thing is if Viktor never went back in time and never gave Harlan powers. How did he kill Viktor, and the paradox begins.
"Yes he did my friend... He went up the wooOoo" 🤣 perfectly put Eric.
16:58 As a transmasc person, this little scene made me SOB. Idk why this made me so much more emotional than him coming out last episode. Maybe because having someone I care about be actively HAPPY for me after coming out was something I never got. There is something different about a loved one accepting you being trans and a loved one wanting to create a positive, memorable moment to let you know that they love you for being out as yourself for the first time in your whole life. Does that make sense?
Also how they wrote Luther’s compliments are extremely gender affirming for Victor! It wasn’t just “I like your haircut” it’s using clipper sizes that barbers use, insinuating that the frame of his face looks different in a less feminine way! Little tiny things that Victor would think about and appreciate so much!
I love the open conversation regarding Viktor and how to refer to him, it's really possitive to have these kinds of discussions! In my opinion refering to him as Viktor all the time even when referencing things from past seasons is best but it may take some time to get used to so don't worry if you make some mistakes
No one cares if you deadname an imaginary character lmao
Right? I'm enby and i get misgendered on like a daily basis, so it's refreshing to see people being open with this
I see a lot of youtubers be confused about Harlan’s habits like listening to the tapes, and I realise how unfamiliar most people are with severely autistic people. The tapes are his safe space, his form of positive stimulation, his way of coping with the rest of the world. Sure, he is also traumatised with superpowers since childhood (as most characters in this show are), but using white noise to calm down is a very common thing among people on the spectrum :)
Yeah I’d just stick to calling him Viktor even when referring past stuff, especially because when the cast was recapping seasons 1 and 2 they referred to him as Viktor
as for the question of the deadname yes, once you learn the preffered name of the person its the correct to only say that name from now on in any context of their life, even if ur talking about their past, as Viktor said
"it's viktor, It's me, it's who i've always been"
the only time i use the name vanya is to reffer to the original version in the comics, since that version did not transition
so its
vanya (original TUA comic)
viktor (TUA show)
I would guess that it's correct to use Viktor no matter the situation. The only time I'd use Vanya is if I was talking to somebody who was watching the first or second season and had not yet made it to where the name change happens within the show, just to avoid spoilers.
This is so messy at home since we’ve got half who are caught up and half who have either only seen up to various parts of the first season. I say Vanya to not spoil anything since it would give away that there’s future plot for the character so they would know Allison doesn’t shoot. At one point I said, “Vee-Anya” talking about a season 1 thing. My brain is a mess. I want them to just catch up. 😂
Wow, it's crazy that the first 2 episodes were filmed before covid.
Didn't this season just drop a couple month ago tho?
@@fullnelson4986 Before they got covid I mean, which still feels like a while ago now.
Edit: Before they started Ben 10 and Batman I think.
@@fullnelson4986 he meant that the crew started filming the reactions before they went on vacation and got covid awhile back

hey! just wanted to say (as a member of the lgbtq+ community) I cannot put into words how much it means to me that I get to enjoy a reaction channel that accepts and wants to learn about our culture. Representation is more prevalent nowadays but most of the time it's empty characters that provide filler-hence why UA is so beloved.
To answer your question about dead names, I don't find your use of Vanya's name while describing past events to be disrespectful at all. Talking about a character's past is an unavoidable part in discussing a show and you seem to be very respectful about it. That said, accidents do happen but learning and growing to accept other people's identity and pronouns is something you learn overtime.
Love your guys' content:) keep it up!
When referring to Viktor and his roles in the prior seasons, you could always just say ‘Viktor in season one’ - they share the same body, it’s just different names! If someone who isn’t trans changed their name, you’d usually just refer to that person as their current name with the period you’re referencing, best example I can think of is (sadly) Ye - formally known as Kanye
15:54 klaus's face 🥺🥹
Also, the brellies siblings are wholesome except for allison. I get why she did what she did but she's still the worst for this season lol
I love you guys so much. Awesome job with some very nuanced discussions. 💓
My ONLY problem with this season was Allison. I loved everything else tbh. I know a lot of people didn’t like this season for some reason but I loved it way more than season 2. It’s just off the rails fun for the most part.
Yeah this one was my favourite in terms of plot. The twists towards the end were insane. But unfortunately Allison sticks out like a sore thumb.
I agree with Allison (because she went too far). And the fact that they mixed 2 plots together, so neither was as strong as it could have been.
I'm not sure about this and have a question for comment folks. I understand using an IRL person's current name to refer to past events, that's all gravy and makes perfect sense. However, I am confused how this translates to a story context.
For example: if a person hasn't seen the third season, is it still wrong to refer to the character as Vanya instead of Viktor? Since Viktor's journey of self-discovery is part of the plot, is it more appropriate to use the correct name at the risk of slight spoilers, or to use his name at that point in the story at the risk of offense?
if you're talking to someone who hasn't seen the third season I'd refer to him as Vanya to avoid spoilers :) but in other cases I'd use Viktor since that's his name and "who he's always been" to quote the character
can't wait for next week
20:52 I just sprayed my drink everywhere🤣🤣🤣
It _can_ differ from person to person, but a lot of times people should be referred to by their current name/gender, even when talking about the past.
So since Vikor is a character that can't opinionate on his preference, the best way is to just always say "Viktor/he"
Allison has lost her mind
I would recommend you these indian comedy masterpieces funny as hell

I really don't understand why the robot became a religious fanatic. Why, of all things, was she programmed to do that?
She wasn't. She was sapient and sentient.
I feel like Viktor's powers are the most confusing for me, they state in s1 that they involve sound waves but both he and Harlan have been seen to control the weather and I don't get how those are related
Sound and soundwaves. So if their powers swirling or changing the pressure in the air could change the 'weather'
Despite Victor just being a character, I think you should still follow the social rules you would use for real life. For example, if your friend has a nickname, you use that nickname when referring to a competition they competed in (a competition in which they would have used their legal name). When referring to Elliot's past work, we list it as part of his work history. For the character Victor, just say which season you're referring to (as you would for any other character). He might just be a character, but dead naming a character might make people think that's how you do it in real life. I know people who thought it was okay to treat a trans person as a dual identity, where one person lived in the past and the other lived from the point of transition. This gives the opportunity for new people to dead name the trans person on purpose and gives power to an identity that the trans person might have endured to be accepted, stay safe, or make others happy. It might be an identity that they're desperately trying to escape now that they can be fully honest about who they are. The willingness to talk about their past will vary, obviously, from each trans person, but the respectful thing to do is use their current name for both current and past events.
I’m very curious to see how you’ll feel about Allison as the season progresses. I really hated what they did with her character. She went from being one of my faves to my least favorite.
Vanya is Viktors dead name. You should say Viktor in Season 1.
no
You guys should watch the sinner
My dead name is *****, prefer name is Petra. I like refer my name as Petra in past, present and future self. Do the same with Victor.
I think they will do what they want like you have done. 🙂
they do whatever they want
Guys Harlan’s odd behaviors are likely due to him being neurodivergent. I’m a person who’s on the Autism spectrum, and I’ve seen similar personality traits in others like me.
Marcus got eaten cuz he touched the actual paradox
RIP kevin conroy🕊🙏🏾
not trans but I have trans friends and afaik, you should probably always refer to Viktor as Viktor, even when referring to events involving him in the past. I know it's difficult and it's totally fine to make mistakes in the beginning as you're getting used to it. I would love for someone who is trans to correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Oh god kill me please
No
I don't think the world will end when using a trans person's dead name or pronouns
@@gravybate2283 no one is saying the world will end, it’s just polite to refer to people how they want, it’s that simple

I had too much of Allison this season, every episode with her talking was too much
Hey watch out 'Bahubali' another masterpiece of the director of 'RRR'. It's the second highest Indian movie and the best war movie ever.
Ok where calvin 😢
I’m happy 4 is dead, but surprised that Jayme is dead. It should’ve been 3 instead of Jayme.
To let you know, I paused your reaction and interrupted my 19 year old transgender son's Minecraft time , 😆, to ponder your question about reference. In his opinion, avoid the reference to the dead name when possible because may have had a different identifier but that was other people's perceptions, not truly who Victor was. Just thought you would appreciate the opinion.
Can someone please answer my question are they brothers?
Who? The Hargreeves? None of them are related by blood, they were just raised together like siblings. So in that sense, yes, they are.
@@Sueiza no lol Eric And Aron

Alison was always the only character I disliked, so the fact that she is dumb in this season as well makes no difference for me
Hey guys just a note: when you are referring to Elliot Page’s character in past seasons, please still call him Viktor. When someone comes out it is harmful and incorrect to call them their deadname even when discussing something they did/said before coming out. Thank you!!!

Allison is the worst.
yup.
That’s not even possible the show was released in 2022. I think they mean before they had COVID.

saying 'that's not even possible' then immediately getting what they clearly mean doesn't make your point stand up very well ^^
@@Wolfer1OOO oh it meant to be a reaction to some line of Els. I don’t know what happend. Maybe they removed there comment.
When you close you eyes you can still hear Ellen page.
Just call the character Vanya when he was Vanya. Period
Good for Elliott becoming himself in life and the show BUUUUTTT season one and two I'll still always say Vanya because that's who the character was...wtf change who you were that helped you grow and become who you truly wanted to be?? If there was no vanya (Ellen) then there'd be no Viktor (Elliott) just saying
It's disrespectful to the person tho. If the character was a real person, viktor would feel offended. And Elliott is a real person and its not approppriate to call him his "deadname" even if reffering to the past. He is still the same person, when he was 10 years old he was still Elliot, even tho no one knew. Saying his deadname is not the "omage" to his past you think it is.
@@2006matheusgg I don't agree but that's my opinion
@@amandagray8287 trans person here… simply put, don’t do that. AR
@@amandagray8287 if you are not trans, your opinions on trans people are irrelevant. Elliot is Elliot. Victor is Victor.
This is coming from a cis person. If i can do it, so can you
@@2006matheusgg Hey, I've been trying to find an answer to this: if a person just started watching UA (season 1), should you still refer to the character as Viktor? With people it's easy, Elliot is Elliot. But his life and existence isn't a story plot. Should you treat a character in different parts of a plot the same as you do the life of an actual person?
Attempt to say "Victor" all the time! My logic: Just because a dead name is documented in video form doesn't mean its fine to say compared to their name now; its fiction but if you can learn to respect a fake person you can more easily respect a real person; you can say "Victor in season one/ two" "Victor before he came out" and it will be clear in conversation! hope this helps 🏳⚧
