Thanks for finding my video and pressing play!
We’re nearing the end of my little sojourn in southeastern Europe. In this video I travel between Zagreb and Split on a wholly domestic flight within Croatia.
Zagreb Airport, which we’ve seen a few times before on my channel, is a lovely new building and everything a small international airport should be. It’s airy and spacious and there’s lots of glass allowing for good runway views.
Our flight today also passes over somewhere else I must visit in the near future: Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Balkans have always interested me, as when I was growing up the wars there were the first wars I remember being televised (yes I’m too young to remember Gulf War I!). It’s great to visit the area and find how progressive all the nations are now. Croatia is particularly lovely.
As you know I have an irrational hatred of Q400 aircraft and forgot that the first row has a badly placed window...so I don’t recommend sitting in 2D! My arm was a little sore from holding the camera there...
If you want to find out more about my future plans and join in conversations I have about travel, follow me on Twitter: @pauls_trips. I’ve started using it properly now and it would be great to see some of you there too.
Make sure you have your notifications set! 🛎

It’s Sunday...here’s your video!
Enjoy this short trip down to the Dalmatian coast with Croatia Airlines. I’m leaving for my round the world trip in just 9 days’ time...! Are you as excited as I am? My itinerary is here: ba97.com/report.asp?handle=paul4040
Paul's Trip Reports Nice! Bon voyage on your upcoming round the word trip!
Your itinerary is insane! Have a good trip and hope you make all those connections. In general, what’s average amount of time you spend at a destination?
Hi paul, I am using Flightradar24 as well. I will first select my outbound flight under departure, followed by "aircraft info". It will then show me the history of the plane. From that page, I will be able to see the plane path by selecting flight route just before my outgoing flight.. :)
That looks like an awesome trip! Happy travels :)
I am looking forward to it.
The Q400 is a great aircraft. The vast majority of my flights are on Flybe's Dash 8's and I really enjoy them.
If it’s a choice between QFLink’s Dash 8 or
REX Saab340B’s, Out here in 🇦🇺 ~ it’s always,
going to be the Dash 8 for me...
There seems to be a fatal flaw with the design of the dash 8 landing gear though. They're always collapsing on touchdown. If you think about it, the landing gear on the dash 8 fold backwards into the engine, and other airliners the main gear folds outwards sideways. Problem is that on landing the most force is then applied in the direction that the gear folds in, and therefore on a harder landing a dash 8 has a higher chance of landing gear collapse than other airliners. Seems like a bit of poor and obvious design which the engineers missed and I can't help but notice all the dash 8 gear collapses in the news... give me an ATR or a Saab any day
Saab 340's are fun little aircraft. I had a very lively flight on one from Houston IAH to Killeen TX during a massive thunderstorm. It was just like being on a rollercoaster.
I've only travelled on an ATR once and that was a really tatty, old and tired dog of an aircraft flying for Aer Lingus Regional (Stobart Air). If I had to choose a turboprop aircraft over all others, it would be a Dornier 328 as they seem to have much better comfort and performance than the Q400.
I agree the Saabs are great! Haven't been on a Dornier, but I'm sure newer ATRs are more pleasant
I loved my flight on a REX Saab 340B from Melbourne to Mildura and back, even if it was only a month or so after another REX Saab lost a prop lol.
Always New and fresh trips! That's What i LIKE!!! 👍👍👍
Congrats on 40k Paul, been here since 9k, keep up the good reports 👍🏻❤️
Thanks for your kind comments about the staff on your flight.
I love your trips reports Paul. Thank you to share
Just wanted to say well done, on passing 40K subscribers. Your Vlogs have really taken off :-)
Congratulations on 40k subs! Just discovered your channel, really good.
The small cake is a small krafna and is normally served with coffee or tea . I’m Australian but I have Croatian family members and I love those cakes !
Congrats Paul crossed 40k subscription mark. Luv ur trip report, India.. keep marching ahead..
Nice report. I particularly appreciated the little Flightradar tutorial
I was in Split on a cruise stop....beautiful place if you get a chance to get down to the seaside.....thanks for posting.
Great report man! Keep up the great work! Liked!
Yayyy a trip report. Great video btw 👍👍👍😁
Great review. I liked it, I look forward to seeing you in your next video. ;)
Great video Paul. Went on a cruise once and last stop was Dubrovnik. Sailing along Dalmation coast was beutifull.
Good job .. Nice report .. Thumb up 👍
Massive congratulations on reaching 40k subscribers Paul! 👏😀
Ayy My fav UA-camr didn't think I'd see you here
great trip report as usual Paul
nice you zoomed in on divulje barracks just before landing in split
Shame you didn't get to go into Split, a lovely city. Islands around there are great too!
And Dubrovnik
Great video! I liked the fact that when taking off and landing being closer to the ground makes it look like the plane is going much faster, at least on video!
The plane sounds really quiet while in flight, am I right?
I actually flew with this plane multiple times, it's pretty quiet in flight but when taking off and landing it sounds and feels like a laser jet.
Hi Paul. As you move around airports, do you listening to aircraft band radio; talk in the tower? If so, what would be a good radio to consider? If not, maybe another viewer has some good suggestions. Thank you!
I like your trip reports Paul! I'd like info on how fast and high you fly in your videos too.
Cant believe you've done all the 'major' Int airports in Croatia apart from Dubrovnik. Just as well im off there tomorrow/ Monday morning. Great video again mate. Wonder if you can answer how security is in Croatia. I've heard it's principally security at the gate ( something I personally hate) and it can be somewhat disorganised. How did you find it on your flights there? Im flying BC with BA both in and out but from looking online people say it's just a general scrum because of the gate security rather than a central search area as you cross land-airside.
Good trip report Paul !!
Awesome thumbnail. Great trip report!
6:36 that is our Airforce hangar 😃
Great video Paul 👍
Hope you stay safe on your world trip paul
I’m leaving for Gran Canaria in 6 days time so I’m sorry but I’m even more excited about that at the moment Paul 😃😃😃
Another great video, Paul. I'm surprised you can't check straight through from Split to London given that you are with the same airline. Is it the way the airport in Split is configured?
Correct - there’s no transit area in Split airport.
Do the non stop flight from London to Perth and also can you survive the 17 hours flight thanks Paul 😀
Nintendo Fanboy plays roblox and more then do the Auckland to Doha which is 18 hrs ;D
Eunos yeah tell Paul that as well
@ shutup - that's actually listed as a War Crime, under the Geneva Convention. "Cruel And Unusual Treatment"
How do you get fron in tana national zone cause I'm conceding there
Can someone send me the link for Ldsp-Egll... Or is it not out yet?
Another Fantastic trip Paul's Trip Report's Can't Wait for the Iberia A350 trip report! Your so close to 40'000 subs!
Hey Paul, been having this problem for ages where I can’t turn upload notifications on? Do you know why this is? Thanks
Unsub from the channel, close your browser totally, go back, resub and remember to click the little bell next to the subscribe button. This fixes it in 95% of cases.
Paul, I'm very curious about how you figure out your itineraries.
Where is this week trip report??
How was experience overall? We will be flying Croatia Airlines in a few weeks. ZAG - DBV AND SPT TO ZAG.
Good flight. Is it a small runway.
The sweet thing is most likely rum ball. It is made from cookies or biscuit with rum or rum aroma. It comes from north Croatia and is one of wedding cakes actually
You should try Stansted/Liverpool/Luton/Brussels to Nîmes. Nice little airport (Ryanair though)
Well done Tripreport, Paul! I like the inserted comments and you showing the apps that you use or comments about the trip. It is better than kyron at the bottom of the screen. Also, keep the beard, it looks good on you
Tracking inbound flights is even easier on the FlightAware app because there's a button for it on the chosen flight page. Invaluable during multi stop hops across the States, until you check it on arrival to find the inbound aircraft hasn't even left yet. Grr
do the Florida Brightline train-full trip Miami-WestPalm beach
I would love some trips with Sas, Finnair or BA in economy comfort/plus long-haul😊.
Hi Paul , I love your videos I was wondering if you could take Tui airline
Paul could you do a TUI airways trip report from Manchester
Nice demo of Flight Radar 24.
Nice video :D
where did split to london trip report on croation airlines go to?
It will be up, along with 7 other unedited reports, after my world tour series.
4:30 sveta nedelja... That is place from where i texting this comment now... I live there
Why is there no video on the London flight?
9:08 i think it is a plum dumpling.... but i am not sure
Anyone able to find the song name? The first one.
I can't help but think that the start of the new intro sounds like the start of Tubular Bells...
Nice little video
Did you speed up parts of the landing taxing or was your pilot a speed freak
looks like the captain was in a hurry lol
He sped it up it would seem :)
No, I haven’t sped any of the footage up.
How come you don’t have the new FR24? I have the gold edition that is everything and anything you could want. It’s £35 a year but well worth it. But changing from the older app to the newer app took a long time to get used to, but once you get used to it, it’s much better!
please do a Luxair trip report would be very happy if you do one
How's your bumquake Paul? Heard you weren't doing too well! Rest up
Aelaha HAHA
I loved Croatian airlines, was in the Army, did some time over there, Split and Opajitia were great r&r spots :-)
Great video, looking forward to your upcoming reports :-)

How long to you think it would take to travel to all the EU capitals in one go? 3 days?
Considerably longer I think. You've got 28 countries to get through, you won't always be able to use flight connections at them all & need to factor in night flight bans at most of them taking out a large section of the 'day'. It would be bloody epic to do though!
I think I'll stick to 3 days, because as you have done train vids, I think they can be allowed. I'll so far to say, there's a couple of pints in for you if you can do it.
It would take at least ten days by my reckoning. Planes generally do not run overnight in Europe for example. By air I can cover three cities in a day if I am lucky.
Best I could find was this 15 capital loop which would take 144 hours / 6 days so it's flat out impossible to do in three days. If you then add in the fact that as you expanded that loop( to include all 28) connections would become more complex and the likelihood of missing a flight would increase I think ever @pauls trip reports estimate of 10 days is looking optimistic to say the least. www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/news/how-to-visit-15-european-capitals-for-less-than-p300/
Would you ever consider uploading travel blogs, even on a separate channel or are your flights schedules so jam packed you wouldn't have time? You have a great presenting style..
I wouldn’t have time to manage any more content, and the travel vlog genre is completely saturated with very similar content!
I was impressed by the inflight meal service on a short haul flight.
9:17 the cake in Croatian is call breskvica, peach cake.
Thank you!
Paul's Trip Reports NP enjoy your flight to London and I hope you enjoyed staying in my birth city
I wouldn't say that this is breskvica. I think that this is "kuglica od suhih smokvi", cookie made of dried figs, which are quite common ingredient in Croatian cookies.
Compare with these photos:
www.google.hr/search?biw=1517&bih=707&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=6uwCW72lGovdwALjwpbQAw&q=kuglice+od+suhih+smokvi&oq=kuglice+od+suhih+smokvi&gs_l=img.3...24206.31551.0.31748.29.25.4.0.0.0.201.2762.1j21j1.23.0....0...1c.1.64.img..2.14.1391...0j35i39k1j0i67k1j0i30k1j0i5i30k1j0i24k1.0.PJ-joUoPthg#imgrc=_
I think you are wrong!
This little cake is made from fig which is dalmatian traditional fruit.
And breskvica is similar but in colour like peach!
However, I hope you enjoy your desert! 😊
why not checked through airside?
The scruffy beard works for you, Paul!
has there been a video since last sunday 21/05/18
I don't think so
Hello PAUL.......as always...very good trip report.........it would be nice to make an domestic canadian report....YVR to YUL...for example,???........regards.
Pa ako su strani državljani dolazili službenim letovima i nije bilo problema valjda su uvjeti zadovoljavajući
The Sweet treat was a Fritule
Nice video,i hope you enjoyed your trip in my country,im from Croatia 😊
Still sporting the Russell Crowe beard look , suits you Paul. Enjoy your adventures across this flat Earth.
fly from leeds bradford
I like your trip reports, but just can't get my head around flying business class for a 36minute flight.
Nobody buys O+D tickets for this, everyone on this flight would have been connecting.
PLEASE DO GWR FIRST CLASS ON THE CLASS 800 OR THE CLASS 802!
You can find this video already on my channel. I took the first public train.
Paul's Trip Reports ~ Leaky Air~Con in first class (one half of the set only) & all lol
The small ball is a donut hole:)
Bro KissMyAss it is. We have those here in Canada.
Ok
#teamallsauces
i am fro croatien
Pilot didn't waste any time getting onto the runway for departure.
Does such airplaine have toilet?
Whats your job Paul? Are you some sort of IT consultant?
If I was a lottery winner I wouldn’t be monetising my UA-cam videos!
Not really - the ticket was around £900 return with upgrades using Avios, it pays to be savvy :-)
upgrade your app. the pay one is way better
See if you can listen to 1 hour of constant horn blasting
I prefer ATR 72 than Dash Q400.
Joe Ross I would love to fly this bird, the problem is there are none flown on the North American Continent. And American Eagle took away the one opportunity that I had
The only airline flying them here in Oz is:~
Virgin Aust. 🇦🇺 (Regional Airlines)
{formerly SkyWest Airlines} ...
If it’s a choice between QFLink’s Dash 8 or
REX Saab340B’s, it’s always going to be the Dash 8 for me...
Paul, you've gone quiet. It's not that I Demand Entertainment. Pfftno! I do get a bit worried for your wellbeing, as they say in Kensington. Take your time, and let us know if there's anything you need, okay?
what is love
👍🇭🇷
how is that business class?
You have nobody sitting next to you. This is not uncommon in Europe, since the cabin is quite often is flexible to meet with the demand. I've been on flights from LCY to ZRH on Swiss with business (on the old Jumbolino) where the business has been between 3 and 6 rows.
www.waytofly.com/business-class/specials/croatian/
Probably the hottest person I have ever seen
They steal at Zagreb airport. They stole my personal stuff never again
Sorry Paul, this is not a good effort. The video was mostly shots of the scenario outside the window. Got to know nothing of the airlines.
