Not always true... some of these throws took a good bit of energy and power to do. It's definitely overlooked in MMA tho, if you can land a big slam on someone you're almost garunteed a W because its so shocking like he says in the beginning.
@@Tikimohn guys like Khabib and Islam always default to judo/sambo throws when they face a good anti-wrestler. A takedown is always going to be hard if your opponent resists. A trip is very easy and low energy to do and it either works or it doesn't. 0 grind

It is much harder though to force a judo throw than to force a double leg takedown. Judo throws are most often a counter technique while double legs and wrestling is more straight offensive

I actually have seen some techniques from combat sambo that I haven't seen even in MMA yet, but have no doubt we will see in the future. Getting a kneebar off a caught body kick would send the MMA world crazy. Combat sambo sees it many times a year. There's no other martial art that combines grappling and striking into one.

How is it disgusting? All fighters agree to enter the cage. They aren't forced and are just some crazy hooligans from Europe who love to fight each other. I honestly dont see whats the issue, everyone knows the risks.

I've done judo my whole life and I can't figure out why more judo throws aren't used in the clinch. You see it in Sambo practitioners, but it doesn't seem to be something most people even think about. Maybe it's just not taught, and judo throws can be complicated to teach someone who isn't used to moving like that. It also took me a bit to adapt my judo to wrestling when I started wrestling, but once I did it was deadly. Idk, I just think there's a lot of opportunity for judo to be used more in mma.
People have gotten really good at defending these techniques modern day. Not sure its as easy to pull off and probably takes a lot of energy to keep trying.
@@PhenomResurrections08 What? I don't know about you but I find hip throws, trips, and other "Judo style" techniques less cardio intensive than shooting for a single or double. I think it's just generally a less explosive series of movements and you don't have to rapidly change levels to do them.

I sincerely doubt they'd stop if it was a winning formula 100 percent of the time. There has to be too much risk in relying that style in today's mma, im just saying.
Truth is because 90% of the best gyms in the world are based in the US with fighters who have a fantastic background in Collegiate wrestling. If you are not coming from the US or Russia, your country probably does not have a combat sports programme offered to kids in school that involves wrestling. China has a sanda-based programme that is showing some promise but the grappling is made-up by sending their athletes to Team Alpha Male in the US. It's a massive shame, more countries should be providing these opportunities to their youths but alot of these countries fear their people learning how to fight 🤷🏼♀️

Judo is 100% not to be underestimated in self defence. If a judoka gets a hold of you and you're on concrete, it's lights out or worse.
Judo throws generally work well in mma but you have to adjust your hips and arm leverage slightly
