I have never touched any dj equipment before and I was lucky to get my hands on a nexus 2 set while at work. After an hour fooling around I was mixing and I’m sure it wasn’t bad. The sync feature is amazing and so easy to use. Can’t wait for next week because I will get another shot. I love it!
I'm still a technics vinyl purist, I began deejaying in the late 80s and it was hard work learning turntables, still learning by the way. Will always love vinyl its a great passion to me but these pioneer cdj2000s are amazing technology! As soon as I can afford it I'm getting a pair.
most people dont understand that most DJ's now of days produce half of the music in there sets. and mostly they are performance DJ's...they will play the music that they have made and the tracks people like and just mix them. you dont have to scratch or do insane fader cuts or anything to classified as a good DJ. because at the end of the day people will still view you as someone who plays music. plus producing and DJ'ing gets tiring sometimes
it definately gets tiring. and i'm just some guy... to be flying a plane every 2 days or moving from location to location in any other way that much must be absolutely exhausting.
A) people complaining about the sync button need to get a life ... i've never used a sync button in my life, but the ability to take 4 decks and keep them in time dynamically as you adjust the tempo is amazing and I'll definitely be using the feature B) Pioneer, is the lack of HID support coupled with large screens, beat grids, etc an attempt to get us off serato and into recordbox?
yes it is, but there are people, who do deejaying since 5 or more years, who can beatmatch. for them it's more comfortable because they dont need to check if the beats are in sync. so they can care more about effects and other stuff. if you're a newbie. I dont think that you will buy the cdj2000 (except you're rich :P)
So you don't like Traffic Light, but you do like the Camelot Wheel, a system for avoiding learning the tiny bit of theory required to know what keys work together (so seeing Em is enough to etc)...
The Master Tempo quality of thease pair of cdjs is amazing! You can hear clearly every element of each track. I've got my ddj wego 1 but it hasn't got the same good quality of madter tempo. I thought that the problem includes my low processor performance of my pc, so i bought a laptop with a better cpu performance in order to gain that best quality of master tempo, but the problem wasn't there...
Dude, I never use something if I don't know the theory. Camelot Wheel comes from Circle of Fifths, but only with different symbols on there. Of course, you can learn and memorize from Fifths which keys work well. After playing for one and a half year I do have all the keys in my memory. Don't say it's a system for avoiding learning about keys. And don't judge from what you think, find out how it really is. FYI I am also producing my own tracks so I have to have some knowledge about music :)
I am really excited about the wireless capabilities. I hope they perfect this. I know a lot of variables can go wrong with wireless but I am willing to be a beta tester for it. Wireless mean multiple dj's can play simultaneously with out the confusion of cables or wires. Just turn on my computer or wireless device and connect. I like using my computer more because my music organized and optimized my particular use. And rekord box needs to be revised because it ruins my organization.
i need video mixing capability, the sound part is great but so many venues are expecting a "video" experience now, and so they should! currently using computer sortware but the sound mix pays the price!
Pioneer please make a option for the jog wheels to move in time with the beats. Since it's circle form it would be very natural and easy way to beat lock. So at 12 o'clock it's start of the bar, at 3 o'clock it's 1/4, at 6 o'clock it's 2/4 and so on.
So refreshing to hear bad ass djs owning and claiming thta beat synch button.... Honestly the focus should be on nifty tricks not beat matching. The tech is there...using it.
Sync is great for doing things which are otherwise impossible. Mixing 4 or more decks that were originally separate BPMs is now possible in a way it never was before and adjusting the tempos together is now possible.
there a some good and some bad features but just because theres a sync button doesn't mean that there is no need for a dj the art of DJing is knowing witch track to drop in when to drop it in and what songs will keep the croud pumping
For mixing two tracks together Sync, Traffic Light & Bar Counter are useless. Syncing & feeling bars of your tracks SHOULD be DJ's primary skills, and instead of Traffic Light tagging keys of your tracks using Camelot Wheel (Em -> 09A, Am -> 08A etc.) is enough. Other features definitely cool to have. I only wonder what about RB and it's key-reading reliability. There is no software that will read keys better than human ear. RB feature suggestion - handy piano synth to test scanned keys ;)
Pioneer, adding features that we've already enjoyed for years...all for $2000 each. How amazing! If I was a dj making 6 figures a year, i'd probably get them...ok no I wouldn't but still...
Master SYNC demands the other unit to also operate with Master SYNC, so unfortunately this feature is not compatible between the old CDJ2000 and the new Nexus model.
What if i told you, I was able to do pretty much all of this with traktor + a controller for a price less than a single CDJ with not much of prepation work 3 years ago.
Just wanna mention that ,,,,even that Key mixing traffic light function had in Virtual Dj....all others features people know they had since a long time....but Pioneer Rulz..!
Oh my I just read the comments. Some of you guys are so rude. The sync function is cool you can do timing tricks as you mix slip roll, multi tap delay, trans and gate works great with it. Your looking at it all wrong yes you can press it and it will snap it in time but you can already do that with traktor, vdj n you can download them from some torrent site for free. These players are for peps that love to be creative the techs there so why not have it?
15" it gives a bigger resolution for dj software so everything isn't squished together or does not work completely (e.g having a 13" with 4 traktor decks it will crash the software or get buggy) so 15" is properly better.
When the jog wheel ring is red. It means that the Chanel fader for that cdj is up when it's blue the dj deciced in rekordbox. To make it blue Ps f*ck perfect english :p
Standard redbook CD Audio gives a 44.1khz sample rate with 65,536 (16bit) steps. Even with only 65536@44.1khz Redbook gives about a 28db dynamic range advantage over vinyl and a massive 40-50db advantage in stereo separation. It doesn't distort and doesn't degrade the audio with every use (High's get trashed on wax) ... I won't mention WOW and Flutter because in theory you could have a perfect player, other to mention that wow and flutter is native to vinyl. Now it gets fun... 28db range advantage and 40-50db channel separation advantage are already HUGELY better than vinyl.... but that was for the old redbook standards. Now we have 32bit@192khz DACs, making the dynamic range so huge that it can capture audio even outside of a bats register, and the smoothness has gone from 65 thousand (which trashes vinyl) to 16.4 million steps. On audio quality, vinyl falls on its ass. Where vinyl sounds better, is usually on old tracks mastered for vinyl... they'll sound whack on digital unless you remaster them. So, if its not audio quality, what is it ? Turntablism? You can scratch digital, hell, you can even use vinyl to scratch digital using DVS - so don't even try that 'it don't feel the same' crap. Hell, I know it ain't weight and size, cus before you couldn't carry your entire collection to the club - you had to preselect, and even then they were heavy as hell. Now you can put the a whole damn 3-decade collection in your shirt pocket. And there's scratches, wear, dust, warping... The ONLY reason for saying that vinyl is better than digital is pure romanticism. Wax will go the same way as the VHS videocasette and for EXACTLY the same reasons. Please feel free to change my mind though, I'd love to hear a reasoned case for why Vinyl is better than digital.
i've watched so many videos with csj's but wtf does it mean when the lightes at the jogwheel are red and what does it mean when they are blue can anybody tell me pls
Hi Aaron, there are various tutorial videos on our channel. If there is something specific you would like to know you can contact technical support through our forum and support site pioneer dot com slash support. Thank you.
You're actually right! I tried beatmatching today and while I was poking the jogwheel I could actually feel my nuts expanding!
so thats why he is called eats everything ... top dj/producer
I have never touched any dj equipment before and I was lucky to get my hands on a nexus 2 set while at work. After an hour fooling around I was mixing and I’m sure it wasn’t bad. The sync feature is amazing and so easy to use. Can’t wait for next week because I will get another shot. I love it!
It's very nice to see Armin in this video

I'm still a technics vinyl purist, I began deejaying in the late 80s and it was hard work learning turntables, still learning by the way. Will always love vinyl its a great passion to me but these pioneer cdj2000s are amazing technology! As soon as I can afford it I'm getting a pair.
i have many vynils and love them, but i would never go back to them, love my nexuses!
i agre "laiback says his favorite is sync " lol
It's just there to help, of course you should always rely on your human judgement above everything else.
Introducing sync button- now everyone can be a DJ, even Paris Hilton! :p
I wish to see female colleagues and musicians being interviewed as well. Please be a part of the game change as well, Pioneer.
most people dont understand that most DJ's now of days produce half of the music in there sets. and mostly they are performance DJ's...they will play the music that they have made and the tracks people like and just mix them. you dont have to scratch or do insane fader cuts or anything to classified as a good DJ. because at the end of the day people will still view you as someone who plays music. plus producing and DJ'ing gets tiring sometimes
it definately gets tiring. and i'm just some guy... to be flying a plane every 2 days or moving from location to location in any other way that much must be absolutely exhausting.
Finish your sentence.
Antweezy who are u replying to? 2019 and still some people don’t get the reply function. Probably very young kids or someone a tiny bit slow.
To be honest, I thought these things were not that much, but after watching this, I'm stunned i must say
A) people complaining about the sync button need to get a life ... i've never used a sync button in my life, but the ability to take 4 decks and keep them in time dynamically as you adjust the tempo is amazing and I'll definitely be using the feature
B) Pioneer, is the lack of HID support coupled with large screens, beat grids, etc an attempt to get us off serato and into recordbox?
We're filming them right now, it's coming!
One word, Serato DJ!
one world AMAZING
woaw pioneer you introduced a sync function your only 5 years behind with it good job!!
These are truly unbelievable, just wish I could afford them!
yes it is, but there are people, who do deejaying since 5 or more years, who can beatmatch. for them it's more comfortable because they dont need to check if the beats are in sync. so they can care more about effects and other stuff. if you're a newbie. I dont think that you will buy the cdj2000 (except you're rich :P)
They're amazing
the sync button allows you more time to introduce more samples, effects, etc. to your mix to bring it to the next level
Looks like it's time to save up
So you don't like Traffic Light, but you do like the Camelot Wheel, a system for avoiding learning the tiny bit of theory required to know what keys work together (so seeing Em is enough to etc)...

Andrew Gjordeni Official sometimes it can be smart to do some research before spending 750 bucks.
Amazing, the only thing they could try and fix now is the price!
guys remember: 2012 still iconic
Laid Back Luke's favorite is the sync? WTF?
+The Rowland's What's wrong with using sync? At the end of the day does the mix sound good? Yes.
+TheOfficialAirGaming using sync isnt REAL djing....
***** How is it not?
eny one can press play and a sync button wheress the skills in thatt?? u a DJ btw?
***** Well they need to mix, Yes I have a ddj-rx I play on
It´s just money LBL is a Pioneer dj. what did you expect? I don´t really know if he really likes it, but I´m sure that he must say it!
The next step is downloading entire mixes into your iphone, plugging that in and hitting play. Eliminating all that fuss about having to DJ. /sarcasm
bitspacemusic Isn't that what they do anyway at Ultra / Tomorrowland? ;)
Dude, I never use something if I don't know the theory. Camelot Wheel comes from Circle of Fifths, but only with different symbols on there. i didn't dislike it, its a good video with a lot of information, so theres no reason to push the dislike?
I´m agree with all those functions, without one! SYNC BUTTON? Beatmatching MUST be basic for a DJ!
Huge turntable/ serato guy... however this looks incredible
Welldone Pioneer....You have Understand what Djs want...!!!!
I am really excited about the wireless capabilities. I hope they perfect this. I know a lot of variables can go wrong with wireless but I am willing to be a beta tester for it. It makes me sad that I'll never be able to afford this
Just keep saving up
they look fab pioneer! really good features
this is a nice function 7:00
This player changed everything to be a DJ!!
i need video mixing capability, the sound part is great but so many venues are expecting a "video" experience now, and so they should! currently using computer sortware but the sound mix pays the price!

those David Guetta jokes always have me laughing :D
The features in rekordbox 4.20 still work for the CDJ 2000. The key function at least.
So refreshing to hear bad ass djs owning and claiming thta beat synch button.... Honestly the focus should be on nifty tricks not beat matching. The tech is there...using it.
Carl Cox promoting the cdj with a turntable arm on his shoulder. :))
Sync is great for doing things which are otherwise impossible. Mixing 4 or more decks that were originally separate BPMs is now possible in a way it never was before and adjusting the tempos together is now possible.

Quick question for the Pioneer crew. What are the stands you have those Pioneer monitors sitting on?
So good!
5:23 cool feature
the track playing in the background at the start of the video is sona vabos black music blues

Oh my I just read the comments. Some of you guys are so rude. The sync function is cool you can do timing tricks as you mix slip roll, multi tap delay, trans and gate works great with it. can you guys make a walkthrough of the pioneer DDJ-SX please?
Laidback Luke got paid 😂🤣😂🤣
The exciting heydays of beatmatching could be over. I love this player though...
if i only get one cdj 2000 nexus, will it still be able to master sync with my other cdj 2000?
i don't understand why a dj would wanna use sync button?
Eat everything really has eaten everything hasn't he
does any body know what the track is @ 7.29 played by eats everything
Santa... I want 2!!!
yay, some tutorials on the BIG BOYS
everything is nice, accept the price. but yeah if you want quality u have to pay
Dear santa. For xmas I want a Pair of this please
i think once i start djing a computer program will probably be my best option i had no idea a dj went through all this shit just to play some songs.
Vinyl will always rule.
Mark Fikri And your reasoning is.... ?
GaryChap cos its vinyl

Hi Aaron, there are various tutorial videos on our channel. If there is something specific you would like to know you can contact technical support through our forum and support site pioneer dot com slash support. Thank you.
I've seen a guy with the Traktor logo tattoo on his arm, maybe should've asked him if he got his S4 free :p
