i’ve realized since vlogmas and just how quickly i click on your videos when i see you’ve uploaded that you really are my comfort creator. you’re SO relatable because your entire life isn’t youtube and you still work a normal job and struggle with that balance and i just feel so seen. thank you for being you and for making us corporate reading girlies feel seen🥹🫶🏽
12:14 - I love seeing snowmen pop up as soon as it starts to snow. "ah yes, snow. let's make a little man out of it" has to be one of my fav silly traditions
This might sound stupid but I love when you throw a curveball at us and come home with a completely random book from the library that I've never heard of LOL I read mostly popular books (recently re-watched your crescent city vlogs!) so no shade on books that get a lot of hype, but sometimes I'm like.... migrating birds????? YES whitney why the hell not I am hand-hearting all the way xx
you deserve all this happiness it was so nice to see you this happy. the description of migration reminded me a little bit of ‚our wives under the sea‘ because it’s absolutely devastating but beautiful with a lot of info about the sea.
The snow is so gorgeous!!! It'd be so calming, pretty and cosy too. We get snow in Australia but we'd have to drive to a mountain to see it, so seeing you just get to go outside and enjoy the snow was really nice! :')
as a Canadian who gets snow every winter seeing you go out to play in it was so pure! i was just thinking recently about how i used to love it as a kid and want to try and recapture that ❄️ also hope you enjoy Emily Wilde, it’s a perfect cold weather cozy read!!
I actually ran to my library to pickup the new Jandy Nelson after watching Bonnie haul it during vlogmas! It was so nice to read Jandy’s writing again after so long ❤️
I was also off work for a couple weeks and it was hard to get back into it. And I went from part-time before to full-time now, so it gave me major dread to go back. 😅 Loving the full-time pay that’s coming my way, tho. 😂
Never heard of migrations but it sounds super interesting! Also I hope you love Emily Wilde!! I’ve read the first book twice and admittedly the first time I read it I didn’t love it. But I decided to give the second one a chance and I LOVED IT. So much so that I went back and reread the first one and I suddenly saw it in a whole new light.
I love how much you enjoy the snow❄️ where I live it comes around every year so I’m always just like ugh it’s cold but I need to not take that girly for granted!!
I live in Canada and get snow every year. I still try to find beauty and celebrate the first snow of the year. I hate driving and shoveling though 😂 but definitely can find beauty in another season, another year alive, seeing another season come and go 🥰
I love how excited you are about the snow (she says while living in -6 weather). ❤❤❤ Also, nothing to do with anything, but those orangey tones have always looked SO SO lovely on you!! I always admired your orange eye shadow application. 😊
I loved the vlog, We got a winter storm here too where I live. We got 2-3 inches of snow. I read Icebreaker and loved it as well. Can't wait to see the next vlog
Icebreaker cracks me up. Don’t get me wrong, ATE IT UP, but (1) it’s definitely too long, and (2) the idea of a college IN CALIFORNIA named for MAPLE LEAVES with an elite HOCKEY program is truly bonkers, and when I found out that the author is British, a whole lot of things made so much more sense. 😂 Also, why has TX had more snow lately than Anchorage, Alaska. 😩
Listening to you talk about Migration, another book with the same vibes came to mind that you might enjoy: "Drive your plow over the bones of the dead". I highly recommend it! Love the snow ❤
I have recently started reading Peyton Place and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this book. Keeping in mind it was written in the 50's so the language is not always great. But it was considered a "shocking" book when it was released. There is a lot of conversation that, sadly, we still have today. I'm going to pick up Migrations soon!
Migrations is a great eco fiction read! The author’s second book once there were wolves is also amazing! If you are interested in a really good eco fiction book that is character driven I highly recommend Greenwood by Michael Christie. It’s sooo good!
I am reading The New Jim Crow now. It is really good. Be prepared to get really angry while reading this. I used to work in a prison library and this was constantly checked out.
I feel like you would really love the book Creatures by Chrissy Van Meter if you liked Migrations! It’s less about climate change but it seems like it’s like the summer version of it. It’s set on an island off the coast of California and it’s about a girl’s relationship with her father who stayed on the island and her mother who left, and also her own love story that started on the island. It has little digressions about marine life and island ecology that are very beautifully written, but the book is so short and digestible, I think it took me like three days.
I am definitely not the target audience for Icebreaker as a lesbian but I actually really liked it. There was a very sweet love story in between the most insane hetero sex scenes lol

truly it's actually so cute of humans!
I love when it snows in Texas. It’s so rare that it feels a little magical.

Maybe its because i recently watched it for the first time, but you walking around in the snow all bundled up was giving me little women 2019 vibes

The new Jim Crow is life-changing. Can’t recommend enough

Just took my Zoloft at the same time as you!
I also have chance for cancer. My uterus lining is like so thick its pre-cancerous thick
I am definitely not the target audience for Icebreaker as a lesbian but I actually really liked it. There was a very sweet love story in between the most insane hetero sex scenes lol
I suggest you read the other IceBreaker (by A.L. Graziadei), gay love, and amazing for mental health rep.
Also, Migrations is in my list of top favorite books of all time. 😭😭😭😭
Gordo knows he’s King, right?
