My 03 has been flawless. 20yrs, 80k miles and has had zero problems, still running the OE clutch even. I’ve never once considered trading it, not even for a new FJR. It’s even more appealing now. It’s the FJR in it’s most raw form, no ABS, rider modes blah blah.
does it have cruise control at least? I can live without the modes but I want cruise,,,and heated grips of course. I dont care about a powered windshield or electronically adjustable preload. ABS if it well engineered is always welcome too
I had the '03 FJR also had 65k miles but that heavy annoying clunk going into 1st gear always bothered me so for other reasons to I sold it...I have an '11 Concours 14 now and love that to but the gears are closer together and I'm always shifting more but with the FJR I could Cruise more in the same gear before shifting which I miss... I did love that Fjr😊
When will the new models be delivered to Singapore? My dealer keeps saying no stock and arriving in mid Aug, end Sept and now mid Oct 2023. Some accurate information will be helpful.
I have a 2010 model and I have a lot of issues with it. Firstly the lip on the windscreen is the wrong way round, should be facing towards the front to deflect the wind force upwards, not at the back of the screen as mine is. I found the riding position to upright and made brackets to fit flat bars. The handle bar grips should be curved more to suit the palm of ones hand so I had to change this also. I have spider veins of rust on the fuel tank. The design on the top of the seat collects dust so I had to get the seat reupholstered. The frame cracked from using a top box so I had to strengthen that. The bike is a hot bike to ride in hot weather as the heat from the engine transfers through the seat. The ABS failed ,quoted over $2000 to fix hence it is now bypassed. I had trouble with the earth spyders and had to virtually strip the bike down to get to the earth spyders behind the headlights. 40 thousand k's and the front forks need rebushing. In fact I thought the newer models had upside down forks. So with all this electronic garbage on the new model how reliable will that be. I have probably missed some issues I have had, yes, nice bike to ride but not without problems and fortunately I could fix them myself
How wide is the FJR1300 with luggage? I cant find that anywhere! All I find is the 29" spec which I assume is without luggage I believe my little 900 is 35 with panniers so I am guessing the 1300 is well over 40?
How is the comfort on this bike? I am coming from a Honda Rebel 500 and want to know if this bike is worth that money. Most of my riding is going to be in the city and the weekend/occasional long trip. max is 400 miles or so round trip even on long days. I have no plans or time to travel longer than that. Is this bike comfortable on such long rides?
Hi, thank you for your comment. The 2023 Yamaha FJR 1300 is a great sport touring bike that offers superb power and torque, electronic suspension, adjustable windscreen, integrated hard luggage and more . It is designed to offer smooth, quiet and comfortable riding for long distances. However, it is also a heavy and powerful bike that may not be ideal for city riding or beginners. If you are coming from a Honda Rebel 500, you may find the FJR 1300 too big or intimidating to handle. You may want to consider other options that are more suitable for your riding style and needs. For example, the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT is a new sport tourer that is lighter, more agile and more affordable than the FJR 1300. It also has a lot of features such as LED lighting, TFT display, cruise control, traction control and more. I hope this helps you make an informed decision. Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback. I appreciate your support and interest in my videos.👍
@@motostylish thanks so much for the response. I did go ahead and get the fjr 2 days back and have put 300 miles so far. I like the bike so far and only thing I noticed so far is I am getting some shoulder pain/stiffness after 1 hour of riding. Not sure if it is expected initially till I get used to it.
I seriusly doubt anyone is getting 250 miles on one tank of gas! 6.6 gallons riding conservatively MIGHT max you out 230 miles but the last 5o will be on empty sweating bullets not knowing how much is left sloshing around the fuel pump pick up Be a lot more honest to say 180ish miles per tank
That's not too far off I used to get 40 to 45 on the freeway and at 6.6 gal they can get 250 cruising easy but yes at 250 you would be sweating a little

@@dougiequick1The older ones didn't have cruise control. If I remember correctly that started in 2013 on FJR's.
Ride safe my friend.

@@seatime674 There is a way to flash the ECU on your concours and I think they can change that as well. Ride safe my friend.
@@EEEBA1 Wait a minute what?? How can an Ecu flash change gear ratios to be wider?
