I feel the need to kiss you on the cheek for allowing at least one nugget of Vic + Bob's illustrious back catalogue to be seen by a wider international audience.
The amount of surreal detail in the first ten minutes alone would have been enough to fuel a series of Green Wing or Teachers. From the dozy crows to the "Ginger Baker" graffiti, the mouthwash drinking and Carl and Chris shaking each other.... this series is my favourite of theirs and deserves to be applauded
Don't forget the guy that plays Mark. Mark something or other. I can't remember his name. I'll google it tomorrow, if I'm not too busy. Anyway. Now it's time for episode two.... Starring MARK BLOODY BENTON!!!
I can understand why he'd say that. It's one thing to write and produce sketches filled with fantastical surrealism and silliness, but another to create and maintain the same sense of joyous abandon over a six episode story arc. They nailed it.
14:40 - the great Tim Healy: "As you know, my trade is polishes, sealants, varnishes, associated products, you know, applications, remedial works, even troubleshooting. But yesterday the DSS made me attend an interview for the job of a drummer with a Caribbean rock/funk band; as I understand it, a bit like Osibisa."
Omg I'm ashamed to say that I don't think iv seen this ! But how "kin buzzing am i ? First time I bet u jealous 😂😂. Thank-you so much for posting this .
Cannot believe that I have not seen this before. But it is 2020, the year that the world changed and not necessarily for the better. Reeves and Mortimer to the rescue.
I'm desperate to find psychoville on streaming - very annoying that it can't be found! I think about the Halloween special episode often. @@ladytetrahedron
I am listening/reading "And Away" by Robert Mortimer, and he goes into detail about his lack of acting prowess and his fears.I did see 'Catterick' years ago and all I ever thought was it's Bob and Vic doing what they do. I never thought about the anxiety real acting induces. They always seem to be having a laugh and arsing around. This show is one he likes. So it must be good! It's hard to get their stuff now in the US, but I feel like I grew up with them.
That fruit machine scene though... ...Vic's glasses! The sideswipe on the buttons! My best unexpected Brit comedy lucky UA-cam find in a long time! And it looks as though the whole season is posted up! Excellent! 👌 😮🎉😂😊😅
Please let all of this be on UA-cam! Too scared to look in case I’m disappointed. It’s weird- down here in Australia, Reeves and Mortimer aren’t well known but if they had airplay on TV they’d be massive. Bloody brilliant.
18:50 WTF?? This series is perhaps some of the darkest and most surreal of Vic and Bob's material. Anybody who's watched Bang Bang It's Reeves & Mortimer may realise that the Palmer brothers and Detective Fowler were taken from an earlier sketch called "The Club", but are not necessarily part of this continuity. Hand.
To see two comedians who I admire so much make a comedy program set around the towns that are just up the road from me is pretty amazing. Seeing Bob get off a train at Northallerton is surreal. I've used that station so many times. We do have a big army base in Catterick but besides that nothing really happens here. It's hardly the centre of civilisation. As soon as I saw Vic inexplicably leave an orange on the window ledge outside his house before walking onto the pavement I knew I was going to love watching this.
Yet another fantastic dark comedy starring Reece Shearsmith that starts with a train scene, haha. 😂
I feel the need to kiss you on the cheek for allowing at least one nugget of Vic + Bob's illustrious back catalogue to be seen by a wider international audience.
(':
I love the idea of them having an international audience it’s somthing I’ve never thought about hah where are you from?
I don’t know much about their general international audience but a girl from Turkey is watching this in May 2022
You just shouldn't let it lie
The amount of surreal detail in the first ten minutes alone would have been enough to fuel a series of Green Wing or Teachers. From the dozy crows to the "Ginger Baker" graffiti, the mouthwash drinking and Carl and Chris shaking each other.... this series is my favourite of theirs and deserves to be applauded
What about the tangerine he left on the windowsill, I just noticed. Hahaha
AH KNERR!
Siberian Khatru (the pub sign) was a classical prog rock track by Yes.
6:11 "Didnt you see the balloons on the gate posts?" "I thought you were raisin ye gate posts"
... gate posts
Vic and Bob and Matt Lucas and Tim Healy AND Reece Shearsmith? Yes please, this show was bloody brilliant.
Charlie Higson as well.
AND DORA BRYAN!!!
And Morwenna Banks.
Don't forget the guy that plays Mark. Mark something or other.
I can't remember his name. I'll google it tomorrow, if I'm not too busy.
Anyway. Now it's time for episode two....
Starring MARK BLOODY BENTON!!!
Will Self
Bob Mortimer is on record on saying that he thought this was the best work they ever produced .. superb!
It is. And of you haven't seen it, find The Weekenders (All4)
I can understand why he'd say that. It's one thing to write and produce sketches filled with fantastical surrealism and silliness, but another to create and maintain the same sense of joyous abandon over a six episode story arc. They nailed it.
Its a masterpiece
Absolute genuis from start to finish. What a shame some people just don't get it!
Yeah, but Bob is also recognised as one of the UK's top liars.
‘Consider this your final warning. Now pull me off’, will always get a laugh out of me.
Keep coming back to watch this every year or so. Great stuff.
Same here and I love noticing tiny little things each time
"She was havin sly love with a midnight creeper ! " - class
Oooohh fuckin’ ell
I tried to use this when sharing work gossip with my family but spoiled it by laughing before I could finish.
"Quink acknowledges no boundaries, Tess. It's a bastard." Terse. Understated. Poetic.
“She was having sly love with a midnight creeper…” 😂😂😂
Fuckin' Hell ! :) :)
19:40 this bit cracks me up, Bobs child like glee stare as a man gives a list off of what's in his basket.
Vic in a wig
and Bob just being Bob
will always make me laugh
"Yeh. I thought you were just raising the gateposts. Gateposts."
Hand.
Omg I'm ashamed to say that I don't think iv seen this ! But how "kin buzzing am i ? First time I bet u jealous 😂😂. Thank-you so much for posting this .
That Chris Rea sure knows how to write a song. He writes it over and over.
Fool if you think it’s over!
"Pat, did you just say hand then?" I love this show more every time I watch it & the beardy brother is one of my favourite characters ever!
I nooooooh
Saw this recommended all over the place and wondered where I could watch it... Dead Parrot comes through yet again. Bless this channel
Criminally underrated
hi
So glad that I've refound this gem.
So typically Vc & Bob.
Never seen this before, must havemissed it at the time. Looking forward to watching it. Love all the above artists in it.
Cannot believe that I have not seen this before. But it is 2020, the year that the world changed and not necessarily for the better. Reeves and Mortimer to the rescue.
Just found this in 2023...better late than never, I guess!
This is ace. Love Catterick..
Ha! Nobody does crazy off the wall comedy like vic n Bob.
“She was having sly love with a secret creeper” 🤣🤣🤣
Chris's weewee patch on his jeans at the beginning! Hilarious.
This is a classic series
This episode is brilliant! I do hope it holds up as I plan to follow through (over several days) to the end.
If you follow through over several days you should seek medical help.
Bob wasn't kidding...Vic really did just replicate Peter Sutcliffe's look! :-D
Apparently he made Sutcliffe a brew at one time.
It's basically Twin Peaks meets On The Buses
It's nothing like either of those shows.
Yes it is@@prawngravy18 , it's like Twin Peaks meets On The Buses
No it's quick it's a bastard to move
No, it's like both of them.
Keep up.
Most underrated series of the time, great to see the casts of vic and bob, little Britain and legue of gentlemen all in one show together!
When Vic kicks that kid... Hahahahaaaa!
givingbirthiseasy ah knooor
My fav dark comedy is Psychoville but this is up there - I forgot how good this is!
Both are fantastic, I'm trying to find a way to rewatch Psychoville at the moment (got the dvds somewhere, but no idea where 😂).
I'm desperate to find psychoville on streaming - very annoying that it can't be found! I think about the Halloween special episode often. @@ladytetrahedron
nothing makes me laugh as much as these two
When I think of Matt Lucas, two things come to mind. 1) Kinky Boots and 2) "Lesbians! Lesbians! Happy & free with each other!"
Wow, hell of a cast
Thank you never heard of this before but it’s absolutely brilliant
Finally, a show based in Northallerton!
But much of this filmed in the shitty lil village of Merstham where i grew up in leafy Surrey
Superb, Vic & Bob's most bizarre. I've got the DVD but could watch this endlessly. So many brilliant bits ☺️
Neighbourhood Witch a know
AH KNERR
Oh my! Kinky John is a law enforcement officer!
It's indelible
I'm not asking you to eat it!
What a cast ! Hand.
Thanks for the upload. Hand.
I seen this when it first came out and have been obsessed ever since. Can't understand why it wasn't a massive hit. I blame big brother 2
I think I’ve just accidentally fed your dog😂😂
Sh*t!
Mark Benton is a Great slightly underrated Comedian ! - he makes me smile!!
Wicker shit 😂😂
Incredible in "Early Doors" with Craig Cash
That fruit machine scene though...
...Vic's glasses! The sideswipe on the buttons!
My best unexpected Brit comedy lucky UA-cam find in a long time! And it looks as though the whole season is posted up! Excellent! 👌 😮🎉😂😊😅
I like your new stance ...😂😂😂😂
"Crabstick's?" ... Yeeeeesssss!!!!
Absolute madness.
Unnervingly weird but very very good.
Many thanks for uploading this, you wonderful person.
02:12
GENIUS! Who the heck would think of something like this ? 😆😆😆
Boss. Whole series.
Thanks for uploading this!
I've not seen this before, but it's pretty good :)
Four pints and make it snappy. That's a crocodile joke.
Please let all of this be on UA-cam! Too scared to look in case I’m disappointed. It’s weird- down here in Australia, Reeves and Mortimer aren’t well known but if they had airplay on TV they’d be massive. Bloody brilliant.
I'm sure you've looked by now, but yes, the while glorious series is!!!!
Quality, enjoy the North Eastern humour.
I'm from the UK, there so funny. You need to see the outtakes on this series. So funny. 😂😂😂
Ah no way, Catterick! I used to love this show, so odd but fucking hilarious.
One of the few times in my life that a video is drunker than I am.
She was having sly love with a midnight creeper.
I forgot how brilliant this is. Thank you for posting this for all to see. I think I was born near North Allerton.
Love Reece Shearsmith in this
Great series - even funnier with the youtube subtitles on!
Brilliant brilliant brilliant! :-)
League of Gentlemen x Little Britain x Vic & Bob
x Fast Show
Yeah, only Little Britain is trash comedy for thick kids and their thick parents
18:50 WTF??

Anybody who's watched Bang Bang It's Reeves & Mortimer may realise that the Palmer brothers and Detective Fowler were taken from an earlier sketch called "The Club", but are not necessarily part of this continuity. Hand.
I'm having serious reservations about this.
Crabsticks?
Carl palmer was the drummer in Emerson Lake & Palmer 😊
Pickfords have change the livery on their removal vans
Did you just say hand?
I remember watching this year's ago,,thanks for uploading
Claire are you 28 (plus or minus 3 years)?
this series is so underrated mustve watched it a dozen times

AH KNERR!
I wish they had found room for a Graham Lister cameo.
The look on the dogs 🐕 face when he looks back at it 👀😂
This was and is, sheer class....
The ink: "It's indelible."
"I'm not asking you to eat it!"
Doesn't lock the door and leaves an apple on the window ledge I love how random Vic and Bob are man,
Smashing comedy show. Tim Healy is great in this. Hand.
Forgot how good this show was.
Thank you sooo much for uploadin' this. ✌🏼️🌛🎄🐿🕊
I just found this and it’s amazing! Great cast
Really enjoyed this hope they do something similar one day
Oohhhh. Treat! Didn't even know this existed till I just read Bob's autobiography

The "Ginger Baker, graffiti artist".... How subtle.
I love Vics voice in this he reminds me of my family up Sunderland 😅
I love this show
First time I saw this back in the day the Osibisa reference nearly killed me :D
Thanks for sharing
SHE WAS HAVING SLY LOVE WITH A MIDNIGHT CREEPER
Ginger baker 😂
is that him? i've never been sure!
Whoa, this is almost what would've happened if Helge Schneider and Christoph Schlingensief had been British!
Utter genius!!
What a cast. 👌
Is that Swiss Tony behind the bar?
Yes
You know working behind the bar is very much like making love to a beautiful woman.
This is freaking bizarre. Why do I not remember this show? When did this air?
18:58 "Pickfords have changed their livery on their removal vans."
Kinky John as police is genius
WHAT in the flying Fuck. Love these guys.
Holy fucking shit the amount of good actors in this is insane 😍🙌🏻🙌🏻
Peter Sutcliffe. Ah Know!!
