Such subtle cool stuff is why it's worth listening to VoicePlay, Geoff, and others on repeat. I notice different things all the time.
Ok...just found Geoff. I'm sitting in a campsite in a National Forest and I'm literally the only person here. Sitting next to a bubbling stream. I love this song so I play it on my JBL speaker loud as it will go. I kid you not, a flock of crows fly over and land all around me in the trees while this song is playing!!! I had never heard of this guy, but I am classic rock fan. My 13 yr. old grandson was over this past weekend and was playing Geoff's videos and singing along with a bass voice. He blew me away. I had no idea that he could sing like that. He just started band this year and is playing keyboard and trumpet and excelling on both. I asked if anyone knows that he can sing like that and he said only 3 or 4 people know. I hope he shares it with his band teacher. He is very shy, and I am encouraging him to share it with others. What a gift. Geoff, thanks for sharing your gift on youtube. Apparently, my grandson watched your tutorials and was telling about how to sing the low notes. What a lovely falsetto Geoff has, absolutely divine. It seems no matter the register he sings divine. There are many other singers with a wide range but not that many that sound melodic across the range.

Among all your covers, this song is my favourite and my first time listening to you songs, perhaps I haven’t heard of Black bird in the past, but suddenly I feel a sense of freedom that resonates with me and your voice makes it into my heart.
Geoff, I came this video while quarantining in my home office for COVID-19. I’ve been binge watching UA-cam videos to keep myself occupied. I might not be able to smell or taste right now, but I can still hear. Anyway, I was looking for covers of Blackbird when I came upon your version. I think I now have a new favorite. It’s just magical. It also led me to discover VoicePlay. Before a few days ago, I had never seen anything by VoicePlay and now I’ve been binge watching every video. I think I woke up this morning with the base line to the Grinch in my head. I’m starting to think that maybe music is the best medicine. I know that what I’ve heard has made me forget about how lousy I feel, at least for a while. I just wanted to say thanks.
I played this for my mom, and her first comment was “I forgot how low he can sing.” Then you hit dem high notes and I thought she was going to fall over. And then you hit that feel-it-in-your-bones last note! Your range kills me dead, Geoff. Just amazing! Keep ‘em coming!
Watching this in 2023. You sir are an immense talent!!! Your range absolutely blew me away. I was just astounded at how effortlessly you maneuver through that range! Wonderful cover and I hope the world gets to hear much more from you!!! New sub!
That was really surprising. Bright, unusual chord choices. There was more than one moment when one of your choices pulled me out of the song for a sec and demanded to be appreciated. This is going to get a lot of re-listens before I feel like I've heard it properly.
I completely agree with you on that! The harmonic clashes are also really well complimented by the the way the keyboard sounds like a piano with the damper pedal down. The overall arrangement has a really soft, warm sound even with all the clashes and chromatics, like being wrapped in a blanket (of course, that has a lot to do with the quality of the voice singing the parts, the sympathetic resonance from some of those low notes is amazing).
Geoff, I sang professionally, a modest career at best but I loved it. I mainly was a dancer for many years. I love your songs and arrangements with all your "brothers". Your range is incredible and so rare. I saw your video about your lovely wife. May the Gods bless you two with a long and loving marriage and please continue to sing. When my budget allows I want to buy a CD of your music. It's great!
This has just sent CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE - as this was the Farewell I wanted to give my dad, Willie Frank Malone, Jr. when he passed away back on June 24th, 2010 at the age of 58 but couldn't muster up the strength to do so. Now when I listen to this song; I will reflect on only the great times we had as Father & Daughter. I MISS YOU, DAD!!! 🌹💔🌹
This might seem like a foolish and out of place thing to say but Geoff always looks so kind when he blinks. Maybe it’s just me,, but i get this feeling from him every time i look at him that is just so soothing and calming. His face and eyes are just so welcoming and inviting,, like i could just walk up to him at any time and pour my heart out to him and he would just sit there,, not saying a word,, and just listen,, only comforting me when he thinks i need it. That’s just the kind of person that Geoff seems like to me :)
Thanks to you I've remembered a lot of songs from back in the day. I've yet to hear anything from Geoff or VoicePlay that I didn't like let alone listen to over and again just to pick up on many things and sounds that you're all famous for. Keep up the good work.
Geoff, your voice is the hug I turn to when I am too overwhelmed for actual contact. Thank you. A voice like yours is such a blessing, thank you so much for sharing it with us!!
I've just discovered your healing voice. Divine. First I had shivers, then I cried. So powerful and yet gently soothing. I feel-hear it in my bones and vertebra. Thank you for mastering such precious gift and sharing it❤
This has always been my favorite Beatles song. I've had a really bad couple of days and hearing you sing this made me cry. Thanks for choose this one. ❤
I've listened to you all day, showed several of your videos to a friend this evening, and am spending my last waking moments with you now before retiring for the night.
Geoff and Tim are the singers that actually inspired me to push to make my lower register better and just the other day I hit f#1 and I feel so proud thank you Geoff for the great music I went down to A1
O. Em. Gee. where have you been all my life? it's a human purr. please oh please please please do more covers like this - of course there are Disney (et al.) songs that showcase extreme bass, but it's obvious you can arrange for yourself, & i suspect whatever you love to sing is what's going to work best in the longer run. I've always been a close harmony junkie, but the close harmony in your particular range might actually be helping my depression. thank you for this incredible gift.
I started listening to this on Spotify and thought I wanted to see the whole band. I am beyond amazed, shocked, and every other synonym to see it is just him! That is so amazing and I have goosebumps!
I know how it feels to lose a grandparent - I lost my favorite (and only surviving) grandfather on March 4th, 1999 - just 3 days after I turned 18, my favorite grandmother in April 2002 - almost 2 months after I turned 21, & my other grandmother in February 2014 - when I was about to turn 33. It was the Farewell I never got a chance to give them. So, I know & I understand the pain you were feeling - because I was feeling it as well. 💔
Its hard to give you a thumbs up after reading that, seems the wrong sentiment to me so I'd rather comment with condolences. It's been some time now since your post. I sincerely hope time is helping. You know this song would be quite the send off. If and when it's my turn to greet eternity, if this is the song i step into the abyss with well, it'd be a great way to greet forever.
I'm way past my prime Geoff. Too close to 70 now. But I've sung my way starting in Barbershop, then as a touring Motown and R and B singer. Geoff, Wow . You have a gift son. A Gods gift. All my best. I really enjoyed listening.
I'm a retired professional writer, producer, and lead singer (Gospel), and you have an incredible range. It's almost unbelievable. I was never great at harmonies, but I would have loved to have your one voice dubbed into the background of my songs. I'm a first tenor.
Sang this at the last choir concert of my sophomore year and the last song I ever got to perform in front of my choir teacher who was like a second mom to many of her students. Hearing this is making me emotional because this was absolutely beautiful and reminds me of how much emotion all of us in women's choir were feeling in the last few moments before the song ended. This was absolutely beautiful.
I truly don't think there is anything Geoff can't do with his voice. You are such an inspiration to me to expand my range as much as possible. Can't wait to see more from my favorite bassist.
No words ample to describe your range. Each video I watch impresses more than the last. God has given you a gift Geoff. Thank you for sharing it with me. Blessings from Kansas~
MR. CASTELLUCCI, You have an unbelievable vocal range(4-41/2 octaves). OUTSTANDING. BRAVO! While surfing YouT'ube 20 months ago, I discovered Voice play...best discovery that I've ever made.

Watching this in 2023. You sir are an immense talent!!! Your range absolutely blew me away. I was just astounded at how effortlessly you maneuver through that range! Wonderful cover and I hope the world gets to hear much more from you!!! New sub!
Finally...someone good who is promoting the bass singer. I love it.
The arrangement .the harmonies..and that voice just hypnotic.. and a beautiful looking guy to boot.
3:29 Can't have a good E1 without the hand movement!!😂😂
Geoff’s signature gesture
It’s a requirement at this point
Geoff's wife is italian, explained 😅
It’s just impossible 🤣
😁😁
It's great!
Mr. Castellucci., You have an unbelievable vocal range 4-4 12 octaves! BRAVO! You can do NO WRONG!
-Geoff, can you sing bass ?
-yes.
-can you sing medium ?
-yes.
-can you...
-yes.
Interviewer: "So which do you sing, Tenor, Baritone, or Bass?"
Geoff: "Yes"
Mr. Castellucci's voice touches my soul. ❤
One of my favorite songs, and wow! Your range and rich, velvety voice is a joy. Glad the algorithm brought me here…my family is also Castellucci ❤
Thanks to you I've remembered a lot of songs from back in the day. I've yet to hear anything from Geoff or VoicePlay that I didn't like let alone listen to over and again just to pick up on many things and sounds that you're all famous for. Keep up the good work.
I normally don't like covers outside the jazz world, but this... This was beautiful.
Geoff, your voice is the hug I turn to when I am too overwhelmed for actual contact. Thank you. A voice like yours is such a blessing, thank you so much for sharing it with us!!
It is already on Spotify!! Amazing cover!!!!! VERY FAT E1 AT THE END!
I'm crying, it's so beautiful 😭❤
Really? OMG ITS MIIINEEE😳😍🥳
Me too. I managed eventually to grow other wings and fly away, but this song will still make me cry.
wearing headphones when listening to this was the best decision I've made all year.
Without headphones, this song loses its quality.
And I mean QUALITY.
I've listened to you all day, showed several of your videos to a friend this evening, and am spending my last waking moments with you now before retiring for the night.
Everyone: Hey Geoff, what’s your vocal range?
Geoff: *yeos*
*yeos*

@@Smoke--- Hahahhahah I love that, thank you 😂😂makes it even better
Still one of my favorites. Can't believe it's been 3 years. ❤
Geoff and Tim are the singers that actually inspired me to push to make my lower register better and just the other day I hit f#1 and I feel so proud thank you Geoff for the great music
I went down to A1
O. Em. Gee.
where have you been all my life?
it's a human purr.
please oh please please please do more covers like this - of course there are Disney (et al.) songs that showcase extreme bass, but it's obvious you can arrange for yourself, & i suspect whatever you love to sing is what's going to work best in the longer run. I've always been a close harmony junkie, but the close harmony in your particular range might actually be helping my depression. thank you for this incredible gift.
p.s. i just noticed this is arranged in a very hymn-like way ... concluding with an Amen. sweet.
My jaw dropped and I almost cried.... completely speechless. Just.... wow.
I started listening to this on Spotify and thought I wanted to see the whole band. I am beyond amazed, shocked, and every other synonym to see it is just him! That is so amazing and I have goosebumps!
This sounds like a lullaby. I love it. How peaceful.
His vocal range is not human!!!! Only other explanation is that he’s an angel.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk
Wow. He could hipnotise someone singing like that
My grandfather just died tonight, and this song felt like the goodbye I couldn’t say to him. I’m so very sad.
Anyone else watched this 100+ times??? Almost daily I find myself back here watching it again and again...
Yes I have
Ok. I never thought I would prefer a cover to the original. Wow!!!! My mind is blown.
I'm way past my prime Geoff. Too close to 70 now. But I've sung my way starting in Barbershop, then as a touring Motown and R and B singer. Geoff, Wow . You have a gift son. A Gods gift. All my best. I really enjoyed listening.
Your vocal range is unbelievable! I'm listening to a miracle!!!
Восторг, восторг, восторг!!! Давно ничего подобного не слышала! ВАУ!!! Он забрал моё сердце!!! 💓💓💓
I have no idea what you just said, but I agree
@@cert2b "I'm Excited, excited, excited!!! Haven't heard anything like this in a long time! WOW! He took my heart!!!
She wua a a aha Susie a abs sus f true ways e wua a rtheueve!
He will capture your heart and you won’t want him to let it go! Such a smooth sound no matter the range but the bass notes pierce your soul.
This song has always been 1 of my favorite Beatles songs and this cover is amazing!
I just love putting in my ear buds, closing my eyes, and listening to you.
I LITERALLY FORGOT TO BREATHE.
I'm now crying because of the sheer beauty of this arrangement.
Geoff and his various octaves! 🙂
Yes, please do Sound of Silence and House of the Rising Sun.
My heart and soul are singing along with the vibration of this gorgeous voice!
Can't wait to see more from my favorite bassist.
perfection
No words ample to describe your range. Each video I watch impresses more than the last. God has given you a gift Geoff. Thank you for sharing it with me. Blessings from Kansas~
MR. CASTELLUCCI, You have an unbelievable vocal range(4-41/2 octaves). OUTSTANDING. BRAVO! While surfing YouT'ube 20 months ago, I discovered Voice play...best discovery that I've ever made.
Have just found this absolutely fabulous singer @GeoffCastelluci today, oh my gosh, the range gives me chills! Beautiful, magnificent!
Whenever I've sang this for my girlfriend, she always has said it sounded incredible, but holy hell, this blows me clean out of the water
This is insane. I cannot find words for such talent and skill. I’m a massive Beatles fan and this must be the best cover ever… I’m in awe!
It has now become my ritual to snuggle into bed and put on one of the 3: Blackbird, Sound of Silence or Wicked Game... 😊
Not because I would fall asleep during, NO WAY! But puts my soul at ease and stops my mind from jumping around so I can go to sleep after 😴
BLows-my-Mind. What a range and controls them all.
I've just soft-landed from a very high mountain. This is mind-altering. Very rare.
