A stadium of people silent to one man and his guitar... says something really.
same thoughts
Their idiots
Music connects. Music speaks to all. Spoken by the masters. Aka THE BEATLES....Blessed to be alive at the dawning of the greatest collection of music speaks.
I saw him at Yankee Stadium around the same time and the peanut vendor thought it was a good time to try to sell peanuts. My normally calm husband yelled at him Shut up! Its Fucking Blackbird!! Lol
Acdc
My god his voice is gorgeous. A lifetime of sharing musical genius with the world in every nuance of his voice.
If your reading this be grateful you lived in a time of this great man and what he and his three mates gave to popular music live love and leave a legacy (THE BEATLES) they done it
Just astounding, you were only waiting !!! just perfect 💕
One Man and a Guitar mesmerized in a 10s of thousands. Paul’s voice, his acoustic guitar, and absolute silence for the performance. They wanted to hear every note! This is a very special man.
Considering that he (and the "lads") have been famous for more than 50 years... it's just not that surprising. I heard "I want to hold your hand" about 1963, and life has never been the same. My sister is of the Elvis generation, I'm the Beatles. They changed so very much. I think more than Bob Dylan, but I won't argue that point.
Bang on point never bores me it just gets better with age the man the Beatles class is something your born with and that band and the man are a class act
meh. Beatles suck.
@@pnolans you're right. Music was good, then Beatles came along and music started to suck.
These people love music.
When he is gone I will be devastated, it is so great to have him and Ringo still around to listen to and hear their reflections. The Beatles essentially started the year I was born and I fortunately had some years of enjoying them as a group before they broke up, a day I will never forget. But their music lives forever
Funny Brian, I was listening to McCartney earlier this evening and thought the same thing. Been listening to them since their inception in the early/mid sixties. Their music has been with my wife and I since then as I was introduced to her the day the Beatles had their first US TV Special on the Ed Sullivan show in Feb 1964.
@@marykuettner752 Thank you Karen for your correction.
@@marykuettner752 I think most people know what I meant and I will be honest with you I actually did not know the true meaning. So thank you. Is that better
@@marykuettner752 I usually do but I admitted in this case that I actually did not know what the exact meaning of that word was. I am educated, but that is a word I never used in my entire life. I only knew of it’s existence from Roosevelts speech after the attack on Pearl Harbor. I always believed it meant history not an evil act.
@@briansalisbury4764 I don't usually bother correcting people but after all your praise I knew you didn't think the Beatles were evil and it would be better to change it to what you did mean.
THANK GOD FOR THIS MAN WHO BRING HAVENLY MUSIC TO EART
Thank you, all the peeps of my type existing and cherishing the classic song
Mankind was greatly blessed by the music of the Beatles!
I saw Paul in 2009 in Cardiff, Wales - Amazing ! ✨👍🏴
One of the best musicians that ever lived
Paul McCartney black bird classic song from the sixties good song fifty years old still sounds good now
this man is a LIVING LEGEND🤣🤣🤣
In front of thousands, the man can entertain you with just his voice and his guitar.
Note the place goes silent when he starts...
nobody does it better than sir Paul
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life

It was The Beatles response song, about the black female students, who were refused to be let in to their school. Paul was reunited with them. As Ringo says Peace and Love xo
Just a beautiful song!❤
Excellant
What a beautiful song. Lyrics are so sweet. ❤️ 🌹
Song I heard - “heard” it for the first time while in the emptiness part of my life- Listen to the words. This was another part of God’s plan to bring me to Jesus Christ. He calls through us even through secular songs
9/2024....Crazy,....this was posted in 2010. Pauls's performance was in 2009. In total this was back 15 years ago. Man, do I love Paul McCartney.
What a beautiful song. Love u 💙
love the song and really enjoyed Paul's story about how it came to be.
the way his standing... He's never changed.
@@randomuser964 shut up asshole
It’s Magic 😻
He's a national treasure
After 1966 he did 😂 taller, ear lobes, chin, facial structure, vocal pattern… pretty much everything 😂 even his DNA 😂 MEMOIRS OF BILLY SHEARS. Read it.
I remember my childhood.😢 there's this familiar feeling of listening this again 🥰🥰
Just makes me happy every time i hear
A genius at work
this should have 1 million thumbs up, cmon!
That Blackbird has freed millions of people over the years. A simple song that is eloquent and timeless - it is a classical piece of our time.
I love this song ty
Great Song Paul the best 😊
The absolutely insane thing about this video is the only other "complicated song" I ever learned on guitar and can still play it is Bach's Bouree in E Minor which is what Paul way playing on intro. The Universe picked Blackbird as the next song to learn having no idea Paul got the idea from Bach. I see music in an entirely new light now as I get how he made the transition. He is brilliant.
Wow thank you that was wonderful. ❤
It's amazing that four people with those talents could just meet up so randomly. Torvill and Dean and the Beatles show us what Macca means, whether he knows it or not, when he says God speaks to us through music and art. Such talent, such chance meetings in what amounts to the middle of nowhere.
I was at this show with my sister, had a heck of a good time. Funnily enough he talks about both he and George having a party piece by Bach to show they knew how to play the guitar, i often use Blackbird as a piece to show that i too can play the guitar.
.. thanks for sharing your anecdote about being there (in a weird way, because I bothered to watch/listen to the video & read your comment, feel I was there too, somehow) .. & about how you play Blackbird as 'a party piece', to show others you can play..it all comes full circle. Thanks again...
53 year old man and this song makes me cry ever time I hear it. ❤️
My favourite Beetles / McCartney song. At 51 now, this remains my favourite for over 40 years. Who knew that the words and meaning were about racial liberation 💕
*Beatles
absolutely
The Beatles were simply my life…they brought me my fiancé David. It’s the love of them that forged our union…..❤️
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather treating you?
This is a good thing
To me, Beatles came from heaven & people went crazy all over the world.
Their music showed they were great composers & the Band gave us so many songs....that cannot be compared to any other band ever since.
Years later, Paul McCartney made more songs..'til these days making presentations all over the world.
God Bless the Beatles..!
Paul has sung this song maybe 6,700 times. I think he has finally got it.
Of course, we all know that he wrote this in response to the Civil Rights Voting Act in the USA. Brilliant! Listen to Jon Bastete's version, , as well
Always loved this song. Even as an instrumental
Happy 80th 🎂🎉🥳 birthday to you Sir James Paul McCartney CH MBE. Thank you for making this world a better place with your 👋 great musical genius. God Bless you even more today on this your 80th birthday. 🙏😊
Most talented of our time.
Волшебная мелодия и восхитительно исполненная песня! СПАСИБО, PAUL, за сказку!
oh, to have been there!.. hear McCartney sing it live.. the vibrations of the notes, the resonance of the words, the feelings of the people..B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L
❤😊🇨🇦
I was in grade school and didn't really grasp it until it was over. But I still have the memories, the anti war movement led by John and the streets of New York were shut down from all of the people, and finally it was stopped in the spring of 1975.
@@gargould7186 WoW! Amazing to have those memories ...
Absolutely brilliant my hero and part of the best band ever
Hard to believe Paul is 70 in two weeks time. Keep going Paul!
79?! Wow

amazing man, adore him unconditionally, talented to the moon and back :)
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather treating you?
0:32 We used to have like a little party piece to show people that we were not quite as thick as we looked 😂
Come on he was from the 40s😂
Tears me up listening to this legend and their incomparable music. Reminds me so much of my late parents. They can tell me stories about beatles for days.
Simplemente la perfección en Música, para disfrutarla,...
First I knew that beautiful song from the movie 'I am Sam'. That combination is perfectly heart touching...
Brilliant performance...the way he speaks to the thousands of fans, like he is sitting in his livingroom...👍🏼👏🏻💯
Love everything about this song, everything. And it's taken me 50 years to say the same thing about Paul. "GET BACK" documentary by Peter Jackson really changed my mind. I never appreciated that Paul was the genius, and humble at that.. John and George and Ringo played their parts, for sure, but Paul...I am so glad he and Ringo are still with us. Oh and please search for JON BATISTE playing and singing this, bringing Paul's vision of BLACKBIRD to life in the 21st century!
Thank you Sir Paul McCartney ⚘
Such delicacy. Transcendent.
Ok, first post ever. I listen to everything. Rap, Rock. Electrontic. Classical. Country. Whatever. Some songs though are just magic.. Seriously, it's almost like he's casting a spell when he plays the notes.. It's nearly impossible to not feel something when you hear it. His hair floats on a gentle breeze and a placid fog rolls into the stage during it. It's perfect.. Too perfect! LOVE it!
As an 60 something years young and I have great memories of the greatest singers and song writers of my life. Including the greats who came before them. So happy I grew up with all of them. 1959.
So thankful I had an sister who was 6 years older and fighting for peace ✌️.
Musical genius, Sir Paul.
Turning 70 in a few days! Hope I’m doing as fine as Paul is at 70! Woohoo! ❤️🥰
I am just overwhelmed with the talent for composition and guitar playing of this guy...
Beautiful
man.. I cried with this exceptional piece...
Just love this song
Absolutely brilliant
Oh, Paul.......I'm FLYING WITH YOU NOW!!!! Thank You!!
WOW
I teach guitar and so many students ask to learn this. I love to play it here and there too. Shuts up a noisy audience instantly. If I bumped into this legend I'd say thank you. Learning to play this improved my own playing.
Love this song! Been playing it for more than 45 years!

he sings so much better than many modern artists now.

One of my all-time favorite Macca songs. Love it!
SO SMART.... If I had a hero... he might be it...
Paul is a legend: D, he is an artist that despite the years is able to satisfy the musical needs of people of all ages, and I think this is the most important thing, satisfy public opinion: D (Paul è la leggenda :D ,egli è un artista che nonostante gli anni riesce a soddisfare le esigenza musicali di persone di tutte l'età , e io credo questa sia la cosa più importante ,soddisfare l'opinione pubblica :D )
what a voice !
AMAZING
What is it with this man? All his life playing just standing there like he is standing in my living room( I wish) lol...playing this song maybe for the zillionst time live in front of massive filled stadium..and always something magical happens. He hasn't changed a bit, still that boyish charm while he tells a story about him and George as teenagers, wich could have happened just the other night...except 55 or 60 years earlier!! So relaxed and supercool!!!
I recently saw an interview with Sir Paul. He said this song was written to a black young woman. In England a “bird” means girl or young woman. The song takes on new meaning knowing this.
There so many beautiful, black, young women in the world. 🫶🏿🫶🏾
Goosebumps. Everytime.
Precioso recital! Gracias por estar siempre! Acompañandonos a todos desde el corazon!
fantastic performance by paul
未だこの人を超える音楽家は現れていませんね。
John writes about peace
George writes damm catchy music
Ringo writes about his friends
Paul writes about classical music
The song isnt about classical music lol
So smooth
Fantastic piece, and the old man is still up to level.
What a beautiful person!
Sir Paul should become a saint.
Master of Master
Such a good story

One of the greatest..ever
Like an arrow through my heart! 💔
Thanks for posting this video, God bless you.
I love the way classical music was incorporated into their music. Neil Diamond also based his songs on classical music classicalclassical music classical
Paul is a legend!
@CodyDean has it right, here’s a little background: different physical areas of your brain control speech, hands, and melody, and another connects them together, but the connection part (where ‘you’ dwell) can only manage so much of the other stuff at once. So you need to practice each part separately until you have it down, or at least close. I like to work on putting the guitar part with the melody (without the words) before I try to put it all together, and of course I’ve been singing the voice part - words and melody - together, so when I’m ready, it kinda flows together.
None of these happens easily or smoothly, but I find proceeding in this order easiest for me. If I’m trying to create a song, I have to work it through phrase by phrase. I’ve never been successful in writing more than a few phrases before the wellspring runs dry. You have probably figured this all out by the time I write this, but maybe someone will find it useful.
My favorite McCartney song.
There needs to be a "LOVE" button! /heart explodes
Why can't music in our generation be like this?
If you're talking about lyrics, there are many songs with meaningful stories to be told, but I don't believe we'll have another band that'll top Beatles. Wish I grew up around the 60s/70s, so many phenomenal musicians that I would rather support than these sell out rappers/pop artists.
Industry
People that still keep music like this alive are out there, too bad you'd have to search hard to find it...
@@Assasain31 Only problem is if you grew up then like I did "born in 1951" you would be an old man now
Problem is there's too many obstacles like social media and globalism that tends to diminish and blends people's dreams and thoughts together. There's also the whole adrenochrome aspect. Some people are drinking baby blood to stay on top of things and keep the world under their control whilst others have no idea.
I love the part where the audience all realizes at once what song hes talking about and start cheering
