As a cancer survivor, I've always loved the part about her hair falling out. A beautiful version of "in sickness and in health".
Hope you're doing well these days!
I remember that Randy actually visited a little girl (maybe aged 8-10), who Randy found out listened to this song over and over because her hair fell out. Sat and cried as I saw him show her all kinds of love.
As a cancer survivor, like you are, those words hold a lot of meaning. Congrats on being a survivor. 😊😊😊
This is probably one of the greatest country songs of all time in my opinion
Agreed
This song is still relevant today. Me and my beautiful wife have been married for over 42 years and still going strong. Forever and ever amen. 😘👧💘🙏
Congratulations my friend ❤
So so sweet ♥️
Aww. So sweet. Congratulations for finding your one true love. ❤
my parents have been married 32 years and got married the same year I was born.
Hopefully a better human than randy
Randy Travis has a voice that is smooth and warm like the best vintage of whiskey. It soothes you from the inside out.
I love when they do the country songs. ♥
Me too. They have incredible insight and they definitely know what they like.
Same
They're the only ones I watch... the Country ones
Same, I only watch the country ones 🤣
Agreed.
Great Country Baritone: Josh Turner - Long Black Train. Amazing.
Josh Turner does sound pretty dam good. The wrote some good songs that are perfect for his voice
His cover of You Don't Mess Around With Jim is also pretty great. Think they'd get a kick out of it.
He’s good in person as well
Although I like Josh Turner, Long Black Train doesn't do it for me. I think I prefer Your Man or Would You Go With Me or Firecracker.
YES!YES! YES!
I'd be interested in your reaction to Dwight Yoakam. A Thousand Miles From Nowhere, Fast As You, Honky Tonk Man, Guitars ,Cadillacs, Hillbilly Music....everything he does is great.
I'm sad for the years I didn't know about Dwight Yoakam. He's amazing.
Helllz yesss
yes! Please Please Baby is great 😁
Bonnie Dunlap ohhhh my Gawd! I was immediately drawn to see to African American men reviewing different styles of music. So glad I did. It’s so refreshing to see racial barriers being torn down like dirty old cobwebs! Keep going guys, I’m a new fan! One tiny request please? Try Toby Keith’s
I sang Dixie gets me every time
"He walked on water" by Randy Travis is one of my favorites by him
This song is so under rated !
You guys break the bs of dividing us. Thank you
Cynthia Baker Agreed
@Cynthia Baker Agreed!!!!!!
Cynthia Baker perfectly said!
Did you know he has been recovering from a stroke about 5 yrs ago. I truly love his singing.
lucinda monger And sadly it seems his voice is not going to come back. Heart breaking.
@@deemariedubois4916 It is what it is. At least he seems happy.
That stroke was from alcohol abuse.
I saw a video of Kane Brown singing in a studio and randy walked in and it was so sad bc you can tell hes not the same
I know. He has given the world so much through his music.
Devil went down to Georgia..... Charlie Daniels Band! I know you guys appreciate the stories that country music tell, this is the song for you. Plus, the man plays the fiddle like nobody on the planet can.
And legend of wooly swamp for shits and giggles
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but Randy had a stroke a while ago, and can't sing anymore. Reacting to this amazing man is rather poignant, and appreciated. I'm glad you fellas appreciate this song. Thanks, guys.
Three Wooden Crosses needs to be the next Randy Travis song!!
🙂
Highly recommended.
@@billolsen4360 if you want to cry
3 wooden crosses is a great song by him also. A great story told in a few minutes :)
My favorite Randy travis song!
One of the best written lyrics and performances out there. That is an amazing song.
dumplingshakes22 yes please what a song.
Dwight Yoakam "A thousand miles from nowhere"
The Mavericks "All you ever do is bring me down"
I was reading somewhere about older couple. The wife had Alzheimer's and was in a nursing home and the husband came to visit her everyday. One of the staff at the nursing home and asked him why he came to visit her when she didn't know who he was, his reply was because I know who she is. And that kind of relates to this song no matter what he's going to love her.
It means a lot to see you guys react to a song my Grandfather loved. RIP Paw Paw Jack I miss you
RobS ZZZ
RIp Jack❤️
Awwa! You sweet soul! RIP to your pawpaw, mine, and everyone else's as well. You're really a sweet person. 💚⚜️🙏⚜️💚
@SLAMO your comment just made me think of that country song called strawberry wine by that lady in the 90's who knows? Someone does, I just can't remember.
I sang this song at my grandparent's 50th anniversary. It'll always be special to me. My grandma has dementia now. She knows all of her kid's names but she always mixes them up. She doesn't even know who I am most of the time. But the one thing she never forgets, and I mean never, is the love of her life- my grandpa Wayne. True love lasts forever.
Damn this made cry bro. Bless them.
epic
My Dad passed in July of '22. He was 91 and had dementia. Like your grandma, my dad never forgot who my Mom was. They were married 71 years when he passed.
Nobody, I mean NOBODY can match Randy Travis' voice. Love him❣ IMHO.
I Did a dance class with my lab, Rusty. This was a song we both set up a routine to dance to! Rusty passed away over 10 yrs ago, but I will always remember OUR DANCE!!
You gotta review Randy Travis: Digging up bones!
I agree!!!
Hell yeah!
Yes
Yes, very clever song and an absolute country classic.
That's the one that made him a star.
My favorite of his is "he walked on water."
Oh God, that's an amazing one I forgot all about. Great suggestion, man.
Mine as well
My favorite Randy Travis song also! Love your reactions!
Amazing song!
So resonates with me....
I saw Randy Travis in concert at a small venue years ago and his voice was incredible. Richer and better than on his albums. Sad that he isn't able to sing anymore.
"DIGGIN UP BONES" That's Randy's best
Try Travis Tritt "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)" or "Country Club", or Clint Black " Killing Time", or Doug Stone " I'd Be Better Off (In a Pine Box). It's early 90s country. Great songs, writing and good voice. Great drinking songs. There are a few slick lines in those too. Just wanna expose y'all to different songs since you do such a great job exposing your viewers to different music.
Omg yes to all!
Love Doug Stone pine box. I think they need to go off rails with David Frazzill "Hire me a whino"
"Here's a quarter call someone who cares" was an awkward serenade. NO mistaking it.
Best it's ever sounded!
Edit: if it wasn't obvious, my serenade was performed by a cover band.
There are so many great songs from Clint Black. He should be mentioned alongside some of the other greats like George Strait. He has a great voice.
SLICK CHEESY is my new favorite saying. And also I feel attacked 😂
If you're gonna do Randy Travis, you gotta do On The Other Hand!
Love that one too.
Four walls
there's a golden band
AGREE! That song is great on word play. True Country.
Deeper than the holler is my favorite
How about some Dwight Yoakam?! Unique voice and crazy good actor as well 👌
Gotta do some dwight yoakam!!!
Yes !! Little sister is one of not fav songs
Guitars n Cadillac's🤘🤘
"Guitars and Cadillacs...Hillbilly music."
He is a great actor too. He did a fantastic job as the Warden at the local Prison in that wild/funny/smart country movie called Logan Luck. I bought that DVD after watching it the first time. Great cast, great story and a whole lot of West Virginia if that means something to ya. 🧡🍂🍂
QUEEN OF MY DOUBLE WIDE TRAILER
Sammy Kershaw
My favorite country song EVER!
Yaaaaaas do this please!
The tone of his voice, the purity of he sentiment, the clever lyrics, the rolling rhythm, soft harmonies, slide guitar notes. Perfect. Nothing cheesy or slick about it.
In 2005 a guy I had been dating a couple months put this CD on my keyboard at work (we worked in the same building). Two months later he proposed. Two months after that we got married. This song has a special place in my heart. He was diagnosed with skin cancer 2 years later and died 18 months after diagnosis. It was less than 4 years from the day he "dedicated" this song to me. Every time I hear it, the cheesy aspect and dated sound aren't there...it might as well be the best composition ever. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Also, I'm with the people saying review Three Wooden Crosses... you'll get a little choked up.
On the Other Hand and Diggin' Up Bones. Two must haves. I believe in you.
Randy Travis is an all time talent.. sad he had the stroke but his music is timeless
Please do The Devil went down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels!! You will love it!
Absolutely!!!! I liked that song when I was little but liked it more after watching Urban Cowboy a million times!!!! That song was actually a rap song before hip hop even emerged....country rap at it's finest behind a mean fiddle break down
Agree!
Oh yeah!
Would love to see you review Vince Gill. One of the best voices in the world.
I have seen Randy Travis 2 times in concert. He is awesome. Since he had a stroke it has been a long hard road for him.
Josh Turner's 'Your Man' is probably the most masculine song in the last 15 years. A panty dropper if there ever was one.
brian keele that wasn’t my chair after all 😂
Chris Stapleton is a credited writer on that song
I would love to see you guys react to Randy Travis's songs "Look heart no hands." & "Deeper than the Holler"
Deeper than the holler is my favorite Randy Travis song. Such a talented man ❤
Deeper than the holler..my fav also. Top 10 song IMO
Deeper Than The Holler is fantastic!
Look heart no hands is amazing
Whisper of my name is my all time favorite
You want a tear-jerking classic country song with a story?
"Teddy Bear" by Red Sovine. I've seen grizzled old truckers bawling by the end of the song...
Classic rock Lover Yes, that one is awesome!! It made my dad tear up and I’ve never seen that man cry!
Yes!!
That is a great song!
Thank you for suggesting this one!
Daddy’s girl Red sovine
Three Wooden Crosses is an excellent song by Randy Travis.
The music video to this is actually it being played at a wedding lol
Ashley Burton Half the album revenue was probably from wedding DJ's buying the cassette
Randy Travis... "Digging Up Bones", "Deeper Than the Holler", and "On the Other Hand" are great songs. Give them a listen, even if you don't react to it. Love your channel. Your song dissection and open-minded views , no matter the music genre, are top notch. Y'all are just genuinely good people and are by far the best in the biz.
Please!
Randy Travis
"He Walked on Water"
Makes me cry.
Sonja Dover every single time
No cap, this song do be making me cry from time to time
Oh this takes me back! I was a rocker chick, and would never have given Country the time of day...but all that changed in college when I went to a Dwight Yokum concert in the 80’s! I fell hard for the neo classic country artists, and Randy Travis was one of them! From there I became a fan of all the country greats as well, I’ve never looked back!
Dang that's too bad, maybe someday you'll go back to GOOD music and start rocking again 😉
Such a great song and such an amazing voice...one of my all time favorites!!!!
Absolutely!
Y'all have the best reactions to all kinds of music. I like how you stop and analyze the song and don't just let it play and when you may not enjoy it and can't wait for it to end. You two keep killin it and we will keep watchin. Thanks!
Mercy Me's .. I can Only imagine (christian rock)
Recently made a movie about it
yancey lott yes
Dwight Yoakam - Fast As You
or A Thousand Miles From Nowhere 👌
Aint That Lonely Yet is my favorite Dwight Yoakum song.
The Heart That You Own is one of the best songs ever. Even Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc is just so much fun.
Ain't that lonely yet. Or things change!!!!! SO LOVE DWIGHT
He had a pretty big stroke a few years back and things just aren't the same for him anymore. Sad
Very sad
You guys need to do a Turnpike Troubadours reaction. The Funeral or Good Lord Lorrie, one of the most talented country bands of all time
Good baritone=Josh Turner. Maybe do “Long Black Train” by Josh Turner.
Long black train is such a wonderful song!!
Absolutely
@@ashleymaverick7950 I suggested that very thing on their review of Coward of the County.
Nobody wants to hear josh turner
@@Bobberdownnn what's wrong with Josh turner???
I would really like to see you review Believe by Brooks and Dunn. Great song and it tells a great story
LMAO more Randy please 🔥
The deep description in “deeper than the holler” is incredible. That’s my favorite Randy Travis song because of how much of a picture it creates in your head
Diggin up bones is also great
You are so right about exposure to music at work. When I was in high school I did NOT listen to country. I worked in Target. This song played on a continuous loop for months. This is the first time in 30 years I have voluntarily listened to this song. And I now love country and have been listening for 25 years. I love Randy Travis.
A legendary voice that is locked in memory only. He no longer sings due the stroke he had 3 or 4 years ago. I would love to him sing once again what a great man. God bless him and his family for more great days ahead of him.
Fatal Four Way Podcast Jesse Lopez yeah he does. He made a comeback.
I’m not a country fan at all and I sense that you guys aren’t either but I like how you appreciate different genres and look at them from your perspectives. Thx, like your show.
3 wooden crosses is probably my favorite by Randy
Randy Travis doesn't sound standard by anyone's standards. He singlehandedly brought Country into our generation. He saved the music.
Love your video and hope you've heard Tony Jackson. He reminds me of Randy Travis. That guitar picking is the best.
That was a Love Song for the ages. The Honor of what a Man should be. Great analysis!
If you like slick cheese, listen to George Strait’s “The Chair.” “The Fireman” would be a fun one as well.
Two of my favorites of his! ❤️ Also "Amarillo By Morning"
I was going to say the same thing about King George's "The Chair"
They’d really get a kick out of The Fireman
@@daddyhavoc3931 yes they would!! Love that one!
The Chair is a masterpiece!
For a great baritone voice you should check out Josh Turner's "Your Man"
👍👍👍It was written by none other than Chris Stapleton. Josh's version is great and Chris also has a video on UA-cam of him singing it.
Or why don't we just dance....by Josh
My favorite by Josh
Thinking the same thing. Josh Turner but I was thinking Would you go with me.
I think u are pretty
I really enjoy Listening to my favorite country classic wit you guys.
You can lead a horse to water..
This song is iconic classic country. Happy you reviewed it, and happy I still love it after all these years.
Yes! Do Three Wooden Crosses, He Walked on Water,
AND Deeper than the Holler
i LOVE he walked on water
@@maggiec3339 Me too, RT has an amazing catalog. He Walked on Water is a masterpiece.
I second this. Can't listen to He walked on water without getting soggy around the eyes.
As good as this is, my two all time faves are I Told You So and Three Wooden Crosses. But Randy is just overall awesome.
Both of those still make me cry
Seconding Three Wooden Crosses. One of the things country does better than just about every other genre is tell stories.
3 wooden cross is no joke. You guys have to do that one!
I told you so is awesome.
@@JIsaacMardis On The Other Hand is another great old school Randy Travis ballad.
I just started following y’all yesterday. I am so HAPPY to see this video. Growing up, this was one of my favorite songs. It brings so many memories and a great nostalgia to me. I haven’t even watched the video yet, but I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did growing up!
Love Randy Travis, My friends dad played guitar for him in the 80's thought that was pretty awesome. Randy had a stroke few years ago and he's having trouble even singing now..
Randy Travis- Three Wooden Crosses....man yall two would love it
Legendary artist.. Legendary song.. Always good stuff from Lost in Vegas 🍺🍺
Love this song :) So glad y'all are are checking it out.
Storms of Life was so good, from beginning to end. Even after having a massive stroke...he is still performing. This is from the late 80’s - Country. His faith has always been strong in his music.
This song is about his manager, who was in her 40s, he was in his 20s. She also helped him kick drugs. They got married later.
I saw pics of them years later and I wondered why his wife looked so much older than him. I hope Randy is doing good these days.
Laurette LaLiberte Then she spent all the millions of dollars he had saved, left Randy broke and they got divorced🤨So not quite forever and ever amen.
@@John-ux8zj I didn't know it ended like that. :(
@@LovesGreatness I think he is. He sang at my cousin's funeral a few years ago (Ralph Stanley), but I don't know him personally. I know he became born again at some point, but everybody from that area does. except me. lol.
@@laurettelaliberte8864 I remember seeing a youtube vid a year or so ago showing Kane Brown singing Forever and ever and then getting to meet Randy Travis.
If you like this one. React to “Three Wooden Crosses” its a great song by randy Travis but it tells a story with twists and turns.
After listening to several songs you guys depicted, I subscribed. The two of you come across genuine and I love you for that. Keep up the good work and be true to yourselves. Always say what you feel and stay honest with what you see a song means to you.
Glad to hear your positive comments. I knew this wouldn't be up your alley musically. But you recognized it as a great song.
Next Randy Travis Reaction: "Digging Up Bones" or "3 Wooden Crosses".
You guys would love On the other hand and I told you so, and Three wooden crosses. Those are also by Randy Travis but they are more up your alley
I'm German, never heard C/W music in Germany. My American husband introduced me to C/W and I instantly fell in love and been hooked ever since. I didn't speak English when I came here, but that didn't matter. The way the sing C/W touched me deeply. The first artist I listen to was George Jones. He is my favorite. Second in line is George Strait and Allan Jackson. The first time my husband heard For Ever AND EVER AMEN by Randy Travis, every time that song came on, my husband stopped everything, locked at me and sang the song directly at me. My husband died 13 years ago, but every time I hear that song, I feel my husbands eyes on me. If I'm driving in to town and that song comes on on the radio, I have to pull over and I break out in sobs. I'm still very much in love with him and I never locked at another man and never will. My love for him will last forever and ever. Can't wait to see him again in the afterlife with that song on his lips for me. He will put his loving arms around me and hold me tight dancing with me. I love you my darling. RIP. I knew him for 10 years, would never go out with him. He had a real bad reputation. All the women called him a slut puppy. He left town and I didn't see him for several month. Then one day he walked into the place where I worked. Our eyes met, electricity crackled between us. From that moment on he became my knight in shining armor. We been together ever since with a very strong love for each other. We where married for 33 years, then God took him away from me. He died of cancer. I was very mad at God for a long time. In 2013 I ended up in the hospital, was giving the chance of surviving the surgery by 45%. The day of my surgery, I woke up in the middle of the night. My husband was standing by the window in his favorite red T-Shirt. I asked him if he came for me. He shuck his head, mouthed no, not yet. I was ready to go with him, but I survived. He came back 3 times with the same message for me. NO, not yet. The nurses said I was hallucinating. I knew I was not. He was there giving me courage to fight for my life. I did survive against all odds. I miss him today as much as I did the night he gave up his life. God has more in store for me. He is not done with me yet. There is more for me to do.
He walked on water.....Randy Travis. Song will make ya cry
"slick cheesy"..... Have yall done "The Chair" by George Straight?
Smoothest pickup line ever.
Or the Bellamy Brothers- If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me?
The Chair is just a masterpiece. Absolutely love that song and just about everything else from George Strait.
Marv White Conway did slick cheesy
@El Lobo yeah autocorrect can duck off.
Hit like before the video even started... that's how much I have faith in y'all. You picked a great song. As usual.
Yes, OG country. Love Randy Travis. Great choices guys.
He was a dishwasher who was known for his singing. A talent scout overheard him one day and the rest is history. Awesome story.
Love Randy. If you ever do another Randy Travis song, you should really consider Three Wooden Crosses.
I love this reaction. Not a country fan but know this song well. LOVED George's reaction to that one line. I agree with him. It was a slick/cheesy line. Love your work guys! #freethinkers
Randy Travis is one of my all-time favorite country singers. You guys got me sitting here tapping my foot on the floor. LOL
One of my faves. So simple, but so witty. I do love that line.
This is mine and my husbands song he sings this to me.
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Ive spammed them so much lol surely persistence pays off
What i appreciate about you guys is that even if you're not really digging the song that much, you still show respect to the artist, the people who do like it,and you find things about it that you do appreciate instead of maybe making fun of it or dismissing it. That's why I'm a subscriber. 🙌👍
Y'all!! Once again you have...only scratched the surface!! Keep going!!
I will most certainly cry if you you guys do He Walked on Water by Randy Travis. He is definitely in my top 3 country artists ❤
Great choice guys! Good intro to Randy Travis. You have to do Three Wooden Crosses though, one of the best stories ever sang.
If you want to hear the ultimate "slick cheesy" (love that new description lol) country song you need to try George Strait "The Chair"
Thank you guys for doing g this. Yes it was my wedding song, to the husband with whom si spent 28 years till he died suddenly 7 years ago. Walked around the supermarket listening with tears streaming down my face. Was never that much of a country girl, but he was. I remember hearing this for the first time with him, driving around Northern Arizona on one of our msny adventures. He lived every word of this song with me, not every man can live up to it. Still crying.
This is my favorite country song! Super impressed guys! 😍
Do Josh Turner Long black train
never thought i would hear Randy described as "Slick Cheesy" LMAO
I think my most favorite song by him. Life lesson. Love forever amen. 💕
