Randy is a Country Legend. Unfortunately, a massive stroke stole his voice but, he pushes on and appears to support all Artists when his health allows him to. Respect.
Its sad seeing him go through that cause my dad had a similar stroke and i can tell it's hard on him knowing he cant do to much anymore so I know Randy's going through alot
he had that stroke years back , his speech and singing hasn't been the same but he has been trying had him singing this song with others and he says the amen at the end, make you tear up.
I have always loved this song since it first came out in 1987.When it came out, it was part of the Neo Country music movement that started in the 1980s that featured such artists as The Judds,K.D. Lang,Alan Jackson , Garth Brooks,Brooks and Dunn and many more. It has such a nice melody and beautiful lyrics.Randy Travis has a wonderful voice that is perfectly suited for Country music but I also loved his cover version recording of Brook Benton''s "It's Just a Matter of Time".If you haven't heard it you should check it out.He recorded it as part of a Rock n' Roll and R&B 10 song collection album entitled "Rock,Rhythm & Blues" and was included in his album entitled "No Holdin' Back". Like the woman he sings about in this song, I will always love it "forever and forever ".
My grandmother was in LOVE with Randy Travis lol. I lived with her when this video came out in the 80s, and every time this came on CMT she'd shout "y'all shut up!! Randy's on!!" Thanks for posting this. Great memory of grandma lol
Beautiful reaction to my favorite song Always been a fan of Randy Travis and this song not only is a favorite but reminds me of my aunt who passed away from Breast Cancer and she lost her hair at 49.
one of the best lines ever...."as long as old men....sit and talk about the weather......as long as old women....sit and talk about old men." Pure greatness.
This song always makes me cry. It was one my husband loved. When it came on radio no matter if he was driving or anything he would grab my hand kiss it and sing along with Randy to me. I lost my husband he was only 48 to massive stroke in 2017. Wish he was here to sing to me I miss that one true love.
You are absolutely right that when you are raised and see marriage as forever then that is something you desire. One thing my parents did was they didn’t sugar coat it, they told us marriage is a choice and love is a choice, because you choose who you date and therefor choose who you fall in love with. You can’t fall in love if you don’t choose to have them in your life. And they taught me marriage is hard and it is a sacrifice not rainbows and butterflies but through sacrifice for the other it has rewards as well. I always had strong ideas when I was dating and many times that’s why I dated people for such short periods of time because when I saw a future that wasn’t what I wanted I didn’t stick around I ended it. I took a lot of crap for that from friends who’d be in relationships for 2,3,5 years but they knew they didn’t want to marry that person and for me that was a waste of their time and the other persons time. My dad always said “you date to find the person you want to marry” and that stuck hard and I wish more people would realize that not only for themselves but also for the people they are dating. It not right to take someone’s time when you know you don’t see a future and then you risk getting pregnant and having that person in your life because you were too comfortable to end it even though you already knew. When I met my husband I told him up front as soon as I knew I saw him in my future that I wasn’t gonna date for years if he didn’t know in 2 years and hadn’t proposed in 2 years time that I would walk away. 9 months in he proposed and 9 months later we were married. And ladies just know this, when a man know he knows and he’s not gonna strong you along so if you feel like you’re being strung you probably are and all you have to do is cut that string because you deserve a man who knows.
Yall really should listen to Conway Twitty "I'd Love to Lay You Down" . Then you will definitely want to seek the rabbit hole n discover some of the most heart n soul touching songs. Trust me on that. 🤠😎🤘
Randy lives by me. And he's a really great guy. And doing much better. Although I'm not sure he'll ever be back to where he was. He's made tremendous progress. Listen to him and Josh Turner King of the Road. BTW -I get the b.dismorphia. I have it too. It's not easy to live with. I should have an Academy Award for the acting I've done. But, we gotta just keep trying. Hugs to you. I understand. Always here to support! !
I LOVE Randy Travis. Stroke or not, I would happily pay full price just to hear him hum along to the music. Im not even joking. Such an amazing talent.
When it comes to pure country voices, not many better than Randy Travis. Gotta listen & react to “Three Wooden Crosses” by Randy. Tells a great story, which we all know makes for the best music. Combines country & gospel.
That's cool yall are reacting to country. Diversity is awesome. Here's a few suggestions Keith whitley "when you say nothing at all" George strait " I cross my heart" Vince gill " whenever you come around" All 3 of these men have fabulous voices And all the experts say Vince gill has the absolute most pure voice ever. And guaranteed jails heart will melt to all 3 of these songs
one of the cleanest, purest country voice of all time. i really hope you guys did or will do a deep dive into his portfolio (especially 3 wooden crosses) please!!!
The timbre of his rich baritone voice is unparalleled. My favorite Randy Travis songs are Reasons I Cheat; Promises; Take Another Swing At Me; This is Me; Look Heart, No Hands; Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man; That’s Where I Draw the Line; I Told You So; The Box; He Walked On Water; Three Wooden Crosses; Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart; It’s Just a Matter of Time; On the Other Hand; and of course Forever and Ever Amen.
This was the song my husband and I danced to as our first dance at our wedding 33 years ago, it holds a special place. For Randy Travis, also try 3 wooden crosses, He walked on Water or Deeper than the Holler.
Randy Travis is an absolute treasure. He suffered a stroke several years ago. Though he survived it, it robbed us of the phenomenal vocalist he was. "3 Wooden Crosses" "I Thought He Walked On Water" "Look Heart, No Hands" Definitely worth looking into more of his work. Beautiful songs brought to life by an amzing voice!
Half, you're perfect in this woman's eyes brother. Any self conscious thought you have about yourself, is everything Jai loves you for. Keep your head up my man! Got yourself a keeper no doubt.
I don't think I've seen anyone reacting to randy travis before. i liked it. so glad you picked this song and enjoyed it so much. this song came from a very good time in country music... back in the days of George Strait, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, The Judds, etc. You tell him Jai.
My mom and I listened to Randy Travis when I was real little this song gives me flashbacks to dancing in Honky tonks while this song was playing growing up in Texas I have an appreciation for great country music by great artists
My favorite part of this song is the line "I ain't in love with your hair. If it all fell out, I'd love you anyway". He put it in after he met a a girl with cancer (causing her hair to fall out). Straight class. Love your reactions!
My brother and his high school sweetheart got married to this song. They are happily married 20 yrs now with 6 beautiful children. He still strums his guitar and sings it to her when we are all around the bonfire on the weekends. His kids all sing along ❤️
this song was what made me even give country music a chance. very first song i ever listened too. he made me like country. he was the first person i listened to after leaving California and moving to Nashville he has so many good songs. check out i told you so
This is mine and my hubbys song we danced to this on our wedding day 20 years ago. and he makes his own funny words to it to make it ours. Love the reaction. He is and will always be a legend! Three wooden crosses is a great one as well if y'all keep going down the randy Travis road!
So important to have mom and dad!!! How wise. You can overcome not having it but having mom and dad makes everything easier. That’s the real priveledge
This songs perfect, to me it just embodies the truth and power in marriage. The first and most important institution created by God, amen 🙏 . I think after a few generations of broken homes this song represents, something we wish we had growing up or something we wish could come back.
Another good one from Randy Travis is Three Wooden Crosses. It's sad to see him young and healthy in this video knowing the terrible stroke he's suffered that's taken that beautiful voice away after he gave his life to God. Prayers to Randy Travis and all of his friends in the business who've stepped up for him.
This was dedicated to me when my Husband proposed in 1990, then played at our Reception in 1991, Our first Dance as Husband and Wife , we had 25 years together when he passed away...
So glad yall checked this one out. This is the country I grew up on and Randy Travis was my favorite male artist when I was little, his voice is beautiful! Also so nice listening to some pure, sweet music, wish our world could get back to this way of life and love!
My parents still dance to this song after over 30 years of marriage and it’s so sweet. Randy Travis is one of the great classic country singers. Glad y’all found this one.
/// where do I start???? First, it occurred to me how country music (normally thought of as the opposite of R&B), can have soul. Randy Travis has such a voice. Very smooth, very clean, clear, and reaches to the spirit. As for the message we all need this in our entertainment. There's so much garbage out not celebrating marriage. It reminds us, not everything "old" is bad. I think they knew something that modern society forgot, or wasn't taught.
Always love to hear this song, it's just beautiful and sweet. We all " if you're living in this world " have insecurities., but God made me and he thinks I'm wonderful regardless of how people judge me. I loved how Half ended this program !!!! Beautiful.
I'm living this song y'all. My wife and I both feel this way for each other. We're more in love today than we were 10 years ago. I have my health issues and have given her an out and all I got for my consideration for her was an all out ass chewing. True love is forever, and ever, forever and ever....AMEN! PEACE!!!!!
You picked another winner. Randy came with his band to play for our Easter Sunrise Service in Albuquerque about 20 years ago, it was great. After several Gospel tunes, they also played many of their popular music too.
You two are so real and i love that about you. It's obvious when you're having an amazingly fun day. Just like you can't hide when it's not been the best. Either way, you're real and that makes you feel like true friends. You're both beautiful ppl. JAI, you're looking particularly lovely! Your smile and laughter always lifts my spirits. 🙂 my husband is out of town for the week at a work conference so I'm feeling kinda blah. A little H&J sharing some Randy Travis always helps though🙃
