Yeah Scott, me too, never saw this until I got to hammering on this pair. I could streamline this process some but this tong works well for what I need. Thanks.
@@gstongs yeah man I'm definitely interested my Damascus billets are pretty heavy though if you're able to make that tong out of some really heavy duty stock then yes absolutely go ahead and bill me, even if it's extra for heavy stock I'm perfectly good with that. I just got my forging press and I'm doing more Damascus and bigger billets now
I wouldn't say really low temp. but probably lower than a lot of blacksmiths. But I think the main thing is my forge runs very neutral. That really helps a lot. Thanks Erik.
Hi Mike, the backstop has always been there. The angle I usually film at probably makes it hard to see. Plus, with that much older version, I oftentimes take the backstop off. Thanks.
Great set of tongs. 👍
I also like the idea of the backstop on your guillatine!
Yeah, the two guillotines I frequently use both have backstops. Thanks Steve.
They’re not only functional but they’re super pretty! Great work, as usual, Glen😊👍🏻
Glad you like these tongs. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Classy looking tongs!
I ooze class... Haha 😬
Another very nice jaw design. Nicely done Glen.
Thanks very much.
Never seen that top hat forming method, your skills never cease to amaze me. Beautiful work Glen.
Yeah Scott, me too, never saw this until I got to hammering on this pair. I could streamline this process some but this tong works well for what I need. Thanks.
Very nice and I'm sure it will function as planned! Great job Glen!
The tongs work well. I just need to streamline my fullering of the jaws; make a new tool... Thanks so much Robert.
Man that machined swage block gets a ton of use!
I guess you could call all of my machined, anvil like objects swage blocks since they also have swage depressions. Thanks for watching.
nice project !!
I like it, something different than usual !! 👌
I got to try something different every now and again. Thanks.
Mate, they are beautiful. Really classy stuff.
As I told someone else, I ooze class! 😬But seriously, thanks for watching James.
Those look awesome , quite specialised and a cool process.
Thanks for sharing
For what I want, these tongs work well. Thanks as usual.

I really like this set Glenn I would like a pair of these for holding my Damascus Billet pegs which are 1&1/4 round bar
Hi Dennis, If you're really in need, let me know and I'll do my best. Thanks.

beautifull pair !
Haha! I got some pair...and not much else... Thanks.
I’m always amazed at how little your tong material scales when it’s at forging temp. Do you forge at really low temperatures?
I wouldn't say really low temp. but probably lower than a lot of blacksmiths. But I think the main thing is my forge runs very neutral. That really helps a lot. Thanks Erik.
How clever.
I'll continue with the occasional tong video. Thanks Robert.
Hey Glen, why don't I remember seeing you use the stop attached to the guillotine, is that a recent addition ?
Hi Mike, the backstop has always been there. The angle I usually film at probably makes it hard to see. Plus, with that much older version, I oftentimes take the backstop off. Thanks.
Hey have you ever had a chance to spray hot metal with inox? it leaves a really nice coating!
No, never used Inox and in fact, never saw it. But I've read it's really good. I'll be on the lookout. Thanks.
I need a set!!!
I really like this tong for heat treating my punches. Thanks for all Billy.
@@gstongs ad a pair to my order. And let me know what I’d owe. You are the man!
Awesome
Neeto !!
Thanks.
What size bar are you using for your tong
Well done. How much?
I normally charge $50 per tong and this includes the standard postal airmail from me which is a decent portion of this amount. Thanks for watching.
@@gstongs how do I order?
Email me if you would like to purchase any tongs or other tools I sell. Thanks. Glen
