My favorite mod so far on my Jeep is putting a battery in it because mine is one from a salvage auction and it didn’t run, but one I put a battery in it it ran
Hell yeah, good snag! Glad you got it running! Thanks for watching!
Is there any advice on buying your Jeep on salvage auction? Or aguide.. Would be interesting!!
@@Montanaoffroad1is there any guide on buying your Jeep on Salvage auction?
My grandma got one from a friend's son after his mom and dad died because it didn't work, manual and all it needed was a battery and she gave it to me :) she also got alot of other things like a huge tractor and gator 6x6
If you have a soft top jeep I highly recommend a set of best top two piece soft doors. They barely fit between your backseat and your tailgate when not in use. This allows you to have your jeep completely open yet you have everything you need to close it up if you get caught in a rainstorm or if it starts to get chilly.
I could have benefited from having those multiple times! I’ll look into them, thanks! And thank you for watching!
By far, the best cheap upgrade to a TJ, and likely all Jeep, "Universals," are hood vent louvers. I really do not like the look of them and used to wrinkle my nose at people with them on their Jeep. But, one day a large branch fell on my hood of my jeep, leaving disgusting dents. The price of a new hood was even more disgusting than the dents. With a lot of reluctance, I decided to order aluminum vent louvers. I was not even going to make them functional. The purpose was to cover the dents and small holes left on the hood. But I forced myself to install them correctly and cut the vent holes, sealed the edges, and installed louvers. It looked better than huge dents and holes. But I did not like the look. However, I found that I could work on my vehicle instantly. Before, I had to open the hood for about an hour before it got cool enough to tolerate. Now, the engine compartment is instantly cooler than it was after waiting the hour to work on it. Everything is instantly touchable except the exhaust manifold. Hoses last way longer. Any oil residue does not bake onto the surfaces in the engine compartment, oil even does not turn as black when it is time to change it! The Jeep temperature indicator shows cooler all the time. I really can not believe the difference. Now, I appreciate the louvers. What I thought was just something cosmetic in poor taste, is actually extrmely functional, even important. Now, I appreciate the beauty of the louvers because they add so much benefits! I would have done it years ago if I knew just how good they are at cooling the engine compartment. I am glad that large branch landed on the hood of my beloved TJ years ago!
Thank you for taking the time to let me know! I think that just made the list of future mods! Thanks for watching!
Now paint the top of the hard top white. Keeps you nice and cool and the AC works far less. I get an additional 1 mpg too
I’m a little late to the video but I love what you’ve done to your jeep. I really like “the look”. I’ve got a CJ7 that I’m updating and getting back into shape. I may be shopping for a TJ like yours in the very near future. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos. Good stuff! Keep it up!
Great items here! Just a note about removing the bar padding - Chrysler wasn't always consistent about painting the roll bars (since they were going to be covered) so if you are going to remove the padding be careful with the foam material until you know for certain you actually have something more than primer waiting on you! It's also a good idea to not destroy the material anyway because if you ever do want them back for whatever reason they are not always easy to get replacements for - particularly if you have one of of the LJ Unlimited models.
That’s funny that you say that because I gave the exact warning during the video that I made taking them off. I appreciate you taking the time to post this! Thanks for watching!
I've done a 4 inch susp lift 32 inch tires and pocket fenders ....love your channel
Glad I watched your video , like the tub rail covers. Now I have a place I can lock the Smitybilt cargo net into and don't have to use the slot where the soft top side windows go in.
I've done everything on this list except I still have my roll bar sleeves on. My favorite mod though is a frame less soft top that can flip back over the front seats like the jks. Also, a simple mode that makes it look a lot better is removing the front bumper plastic pieces and replacing with flat ones. 👍
That’s awesome! I want a soft top for the summer so bad! Thanks for watching!
Great video. Well done. I'm looking forward to checking out more of your vids. Take care!
Appreciate that! More to come soon! Thanks for watching!
I enjoy watching your videos Adam. Like your TJ. Mine is a 2006 Midnight Blue Pearl. I treasure my TJ El Sultan. Bought with 5 miles brand new in 2006 only have 70000 and it’s a delightful experience to drive. Good job Adam
I appreciate the kind words Roland! Thanks for watching!!
3 or 4 of those are already part of the plan for my '05. Great vids.
Thanks man and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the ideas.. really enjoyed the video
Thanks Justin. More coming in the warmer months so be sure to subscribe!
So sweet. I just picked up 98 tj first thing I did was paint the letters on tires red tinted the tail lights and repainted most of the plastics I still have more to do! It takes time but it's satisfying seeing all your work come together. You got a nice rig my man thanks for the vid/advice.
Appreciate your kind words man! There’s something about building your own vehicle just how you want it and there’s nothing better to do that with then a Jeep! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful TJ mate. Nice work!
Appreciate that!
Dash cam rearview camera for both recording my trail rides and my vehicles safety, but most importantly, I can see behind me with my 45-inch spare tire behind my jeep
Very sweet Jeep. Nice video great job
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
Great video! Thank you
A lot more the come, thanks for watching!
Amazing Video!!
Thanks Juan!! And thank you for watching! More content coming soon!
Great looking jeep. I have a green 2004 and will be using some of your ideas.
Thank you Dan and thanks for watching!
great video!!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
I was just given a 2000 TJ and it is still fully OEM stock. It's in excellent condition but does look old and tired. I need to do some refresh on it and this video gave me some great ideas. In fact, I want to do all 10 of these. Thank you so much. Great video!
Bo that is awesome! Welcome to the Jeep family! I hope the build goes great but just a warning, it gets addicting 😂. I have more content coming very soon so feel free to subscribe for more! Thanks for watching!
@@Montanaoffroad1 I just found your channel today and subscribed. Perfect content for me. And yes, I know what you are saying. I'm already hooked. Hook line and sinker. Full throttle from here. Keep it coming.
Welcome aboard, appreciate you support! Enjoy your new addiction!
Really nice set up looks the way I like a Jeep to look... :)
Appreciate that!! 😁Thanks for watching!
Excellent Video
Thank you Don, and thanks for watching!
I took the sidesteps off mine and it looked great. I put them back on 2 weeks later after nearly falling out several times and forgetting they were gone !
😂 probably best keep them on in your case! More content coming soon! Thanks for watching!
I just bought an 03 tj. It doesn't have side steps, didn't even know they had them till this vid.
I've learned without them and certainly won't put them back on.
Oh man, I've planned out dozens of mods for my TJ, lol.
Bullet radio antenna, a few decals, the armor bits that you mentioned, a locking gas tank lid, locking hood latches, a waterproof radio with Bluetooth, a bunch of storage mods, flat fender flares to give the illusion of more lift, led tail lights, reinforced tailgate hinges/tire carrier, floor mats for the front and cargo area, CJ style mirrors that go on the A-frame instead of the doors...
I don't know if I'll put them all on the same Jeep, but I have a long list, lol.
Sounds like a solid list! Thanks for watching!
I’ll trade you for your stock setup for my the aftermarket keyed lid fuel door
Looks good!
Thank you and thanks for watching!

QQ for you. What is the keyhole by the shifter? With a grommet cap below it? What is that part for? About to buy a '98 TJ 4.0 with less than 101K miles. Not all have this key hole but yours does. Do you what for?
You can use a heat gun to bring back the new look to your plastic fenders
Very True, after a while I hear that ruins the fender because it pulls all of the oils to the surface and then dries them out. I think I’ll probably just repaint mine soon! Thanks for watching!
Thanks Adam!
You bet! More content coming soon!
The nitro ridge grapplers are great! I use them primarily on the road but when I do go off roading they haven’t let me down
Totally agree! Great tire! Thanks for watching!
New stereo is a fav mod to my 02 TJ❤️
Love rocking to some tunes! Thanks for watching!
I was lucky enough to find a set of Golden Eagle ravine wheels for muh 05. Got new 33' tires after my lift but stuck with 15' wheels just cause the beautiful Golden Eagle wheels.
Yeah don’t get rid of those wheels man! That’s awesome! Thanks for watching!
My very first mod on my 03 tj that I've only had for about a month was to pull out the back seat, which I see you've done but didn't mention.
Did the same on my used 08 jk and also on a 2015 jk that I bought brand new.
Great Jeep - I have owned a 2005 Rubiharra (LJ) for a few months and love it. BTW- I am over in the Bitterroot Valley!
Wow, that’s awesome, those are super rare! Congrats on the find! Thanks for watching!
@@Montanaoffroad1 Thanks - I meant to say "own" not "owned". Looking forward to some great exploring w/ the Jeep this summer.
Do not listen to him about removing padding. It's great if you run softtop but the hardtop has a leap in the middle that leans against the roll when installed. The rattling will give you the most epic road rage, so you'd better put back the insert padding on the top beam
Hi Val, thanks for your feedback. I have personally had mine off for 6 months without any vibration at all but in the event that does occur in the future I will be sure to make a video to update my thoughts on removing the covers. Thanks for watching!
I love Jeep people and ur Jeep bro.
✌💙💛💚
Thanks Miranda! And thanks for watching!
I bought my first Jeep this year I didn't know anything about it it's a JK 2014 Sahara but I really like the tjs that's a good looking jeep you got there. First thing I did was put tires on stock tires not great big tires then I have the death wobble I fixed that and now I got a louver I'm going to put on Jeeps are really fun. Oh yeah I just subscribed
Hey man, I appreciate the kind words! I’m glad you get that death wobble fixed, that can be scary! Jeep’s are awesome! Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub 💪
Nice Jeep!
Thanks! And thanks for watching!
just got the rough country seat covers on amazon warehouse for 155 bucks, they are pretty nice and fit great
Nice find! Thanks for watching!
very nice mods! for the tire size i have to add though, that for smaller engines this reduces their performance (i have a 97 TJ 2.5L with 31"tires) on the road
That is a very good point. Without a regear a 2.5L is going to have a hard time getting 33’s rolling down the road! Thanks for watching!
My 97 also has the 2.5 4cyl
Yeah you certainly want to keep that in mind when choosing a tire size. I wish I would have included that in the video but thanks for watching!
just bought some neoprene smitty build tan seat covers to match my 99 tj
Awesome those a good cover and should look nice! Thanks for watching!
Great content!!! What front bumper is that?
Thanks man, here’s a link!

I have an 04 Columbia Edition it's super clean 37k on it 29k when I bought it. I'm putting a 3.5" Rock Krawler lift in it bilstein shocks and have been torn between 33's and 35's until now and also worried that 3.5 wouldn't be enough till now,I think ur jeep looks perfect, I think it's a perfect balance. My appointment isn't till may 10th it's been paid for now for a few weeks and haven't stopped worrying about the lift height. I'm also gonna order some of the seat covers finally after owning it for 2 years..this thing is gonna go through a complete transformation from bone stock to looking like yours I can't wait.
Heck yeah! That’s great to here. You Jeep is going to look great with the lift and bigger tires! Glad I could help you to make your decision on size.
@Montanaoffroad1 I just ordered the seat covers of ebay..wish u could post pictures in your replys on utube I'd post a pic when it's done..thanks for getting back it doesn't happen often. I'm gonna do the lense covers and gas cover as well
Feel free to shoot me a picture through email when you are all finished. Would love to see it! Montanaoffroad1@gmail.com
I have rc covers as well, love them. Also, my fav mod is free... Mud :)
Fair enough 😂 thanks for watching!
Thanks, a lot of great ideas. Can you please share your source for the chrome grill?
I actually don’t remember what brand it was! I’m sorry man but they have a lot of options online. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Nice. A good alternative to the petro-chemical plastic treatment is lemon juice and olive oil. Clean with rubbing alcohol. Works great and makes it nice and shiny. Because painting doesn’t last and taking off the fender flares, etc. is a pain
Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to try that. Thanks for watching!
Where did you pick up the clear marking lenses? TJ looks Great 98 Tj Restored and lifted 4" suspension lift.
Hey Rick! I picked them up from Amazon. I love the look as well. Here’s a link - www.amazon.com/Off-Road-Parking-Side-Marker-Light/dp/B00XUX2Y94/ref=asc_df_B00XUX2Y94/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=385267800891&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4706304446352036782&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1020899&hvtargid=pla-828140604150&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=84216869728&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=385267800891&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4706304446352036782&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1020899&hvtargid=pla-828140604150

My favorite mod was moving the mirror off the windshield
I like the 20” light bar on the hood. I have a jack right now though.
What was the results of using the seafoam. I’m not sure you mentioned it. Thanks
They vehicle ran smoother but that did not seem to translate much for mileage. I would still recommend however. Thanks for watching!
How and why did you choose your bumpers? Did you consider weight?
Good video. Get a harbor freight heat gun for your plastic it works great an lasts a long time
Appreciate that, thanks for watching!
Got mine runnin... best mod is the first mod.
Seco.d mod is frame... theses things are Swiss cheese in some states.
Definitely are! Montana is great for rust fortunately. Congrats on getting yours running and thanks for watching! New content coming soon!
Your Jeep is very nice. You forgot to mention the chrome covers of your mirrors. I can't find the same completely chromed mirrors anywhere.
Thank you! You’re right I did forget, I looked around for them online for you and couldn’t find them either. Must be discontinued! Sorry about that, thanks for watching!
About a year ago my husband was given a 2004 and he never got to do anything with it. He passed away in March. The Jeep is now my baby and I’m researching what to do and where to start
I’m sorry to hear that but I’m glad you have something to keep him close to your heart ❤️
Stud 🥰
can you refresh the faded plastic with a propane torch?
Yes you can but over time it ruins your plastics and if you do it wrong it creates streaks. I wouldn’t recommend it. Thanks for watching!
What is the brand of armor that you put on the rocker panels?
Rugged Ridge! Thanks for watching!
Can you share what the width of your wheel is? I know you said the tire is 12.5. Sorry if this has been answered before.
What is the offset of your wheels? Those look really good
It’s actually not the offset. I have some 1.25” hubcentric wheel spacers that give it that look. I can’t remember the brand but help give my current setup a better look while allowing my 33’s not to rub at full turn. Thanks for watching!
I like your car
I saw that you removed your rear seats in one of your posts. I'm trying to take mine out, but they're stuck. Can you assist? I'm planning to mod the old stock seats with new vinyl ones. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi Juan, Pb blaster on the bolts. If I remember right there is are nuts on the other side of the bolts you need to remove from under the vehicle. Good luck my friend!
Love my faded plastic, and all that hate it, lol
😂
Love the chrome grille…. Do you happen to have a link for it?
Thanks Jack! Unfortunately not many companies sell them anymore and they usually run about 500-600 bucks. I did find a link to one on eBay that appears to be the same one I got for $360 but it is used. www.ebay.com/itm/284767636194?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1OCvzKbeFTeW9CCIvGNWdUQ87&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=284767636194&targetid=1644837434843&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=1020899&poi=&campaignid=16743749222&mkgroupid=138744546207&rlsatarget=pla-1644837434843&abcId=9300842&merchantid=138375205&gbraid=0AAAAAD_QDh_32CYIjON26BXHDNQj64dFU&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm5yi1MLv9wIV8wjnCh12MA_MEAQYBiABEgJWyfD_BwE

Link in the description, thanks for watching!
Where did you get the body armor right under the doors?

Here you are 🙂
Lift, tire size, wheels + gears. The biggest thing people miss.
Yes those are a must for sure! Thanks for watching!
the best mod i can do to mine is sell it and get a civic
No angry eyes please
Not on this Jeep!
First thing to do is get rid of the chrome bruh.
To each there own 🙂
Step one get a sugar momma
Never hurts! 😅 thanks for watching.
10 things for look. Doesn't anyone increase the capability of their Jeep anymore? What happened to lockers, sliders, skid plates, bead locks, and re-gearing?
Because I’d much rather watch a 15 minute video about you rambling on about running lights. 🙄 Save the negativity for another channel.
@@Montanaoffroad1 It was a simple question. Sorry, I had no idea you were so fragile.
