I just ordered these for my TJ. We'll see how they do. I wanted something close to the body of the jeep and didn't want to drill or weld. These looked perfect. They will be replacing the basic "Rugged Ridge" nerf bar steps that are currently on the jeep. Great video.

id have the entire body taken down , stripped and redone it would be worth it same with the motor + new wiring harness etc.

Dry time is based on DWPT and RH, this is important because dry to touch IS NOT dry, meaning ...the paint still needs to off-gas. Putting another coat can trap gasses, causing the paint to pop right off.

No way is it the outside parts. It's definitely the motor and fuel system. No way that the terrible gas mileage is caused by the tires or accessories. It's a dodge. I have a 2014 jk lifted with 35s.

Forgot about gearing changes needed when going to taller tires.🤔

Haha so although i didnt learn anything new . You did literally the same exact upgrades i made when i got my jeep . So good looks letting others know . The only difference i did was the black bullet antenna . Everything else i did exactly what you did . Good stuff buddy

Every single TJ guy knows the check engine light is always a faulty O2 sensor they're easily done to unplug unscrew and put a new one in 25 bucks at your local O'Reilly's!!! If your TJ doesn't make a tick or a sound it's not a TJ stay safe out!!! 😂

i'm considering a manual transmission for my 2000, that way i can tow it behind my ram power wagon to distant hunting locations.

i bought one, a 2000 with 100k miles before the lift and build. it now has 105k and its one thing after another failing, door handles, latches, windshield washers, etc. hopefully soon i can enjoy a weekend off from working on it?

Dude, I can't stop laughing with the check engine light mechanics call. I am so used to seeing the check engine light on my 02 TJ for Evap issues. When it turns off, it concerns me very much. Lol

If you have oversized tires, you need to get a different tire carrier and those come with factory 3rd brake light mounting points with some brake light minor modification

Never trust anyone who puts chrome on a Jeep. Stubby antennas have limited range. I had trouble picking up radio stations within 40 miles. Probably won't work well in the woods

I took auto mechanics in high school, but that was a few decades ago, so I'm more than a little rusty. As rusty as that knowledge is, I strongly suspect attempting to run any engine for five to ten seconds without a timing belt would be somewhat detrimental. 🙂

Anyone ever hear of the KISS belief? Keep I Simple Stupid? Chrysler like a lot of other companies has over engineered the Wrangler and people are like "WHY?". Nice vid. I am looking at a 2001 L6 Sahara in real good shape for the year and not that much rust, I got there and had not been started for a day or 2 and sounded solid at start up. I will not trust the 3.8 or 3.6 because all the extra BS they put into the engines.

7:32 A permanently installed winch probably does not make sense for most owners who also use their jeep as a daily driver. I have not bothered installing one. I carry a bring along puller winch with two kinetic ropes for recovery. Yes, less comfortable. But not a constant drain on fuel economy and easy to replace instead of having to deal with repairs. Also, it's more reliable as it is completely independent from the car and its ability to power it. Also a lot cheaper. The one first mod I would have brought up immediately: install skid plates. THAT is by far the most useful mod for a Jeep out of the gate. Other than that, great video.

Thats my dream truck. I always saw one on the way to school back in the early 90s and I thought it was cool as hell.

Do you know if you can treat a brand new jeep with that right off the bat and then still go forward and sprays fluid master on it for overkill on protection?

As for 31 inch tires it's not about the size but about the tread pattern I run a 265/75r16 on both my jeeps that will go thru most stuff that will get bigger tires stuck they are crosswinds by Ling Long they have directional V pattern tread.

I have an 03 tj 4.0. I put the Shell Rotella for gas trucks in on the last oil change and I've been getting better than 20 mpg. I think they quit making it, does anyone know why?
