    The best explanation I've heard yet. Thanks for making it easy to understand.

    Thanks for this Erica-- you explained a couple things I didn't pick up on my Subaru yet-- I didn't know I had to turn on lane keep assist, or how the adaptive c.control worked. Just got a Subaru for the 1st time & really like it-- even the Base Trim has lots of extras- Hope you have a safe & prosperous 2020!

    On my 2018 Crosstrek, on the lower left side of the dashboard, the indicator for lane departure off is lit, how do I turn it on?

    Funny how people will do anything but read the manual or spend some time sitting in the car learning how it works.
    We found most Eyesight features generally useless and distracting in normal driving. Adapative cruise is main useful feature. If you have trouble keeping in your lane or working out when to stop perhaps its time for taxis.

      Are you always this negative? Yikes.
      Most Eyesight features are great. Tells you when the car ahead of you has moved if you're distracted.

    Erica, Thanks for this explanation of Eyesight. Question, please. Near the end of your video you mention a small window at the top section above the hazard lights button, where it indicates the current speed and set speed. Can that be changed to a digital read-out for mph? Thanks, Ed

    Thanks. Good video. One question? If I press the pre-collision braking button, I do not see anything that tells me that it is off - either on the dash or on the button. How do I know if it is positively off or on? Where can I see that? If I want to go through a car wash, I need to see that it is off, right? And when I'm on the road, I want to be sure it is on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    • @ericalindburg7922

      Jon Jon, that button needs to be held down for at least three seconds. Then you will see a small yellow light on the dash showing that it is off. And you are exactly correct, if you want to go through a car wash where the car is not in park you need to disable the eyesight first. Make sure the light is turned off when you get back on the road. I hope this helps.

    I just bought a 2018 Crosstrek Limited.
    Is it true that the cameras record in event of an accident?

    • @ericalindburg7922
      @ericalindburg7922  6 років тому

      I am sorry for the delay, I just saw this. NO the cameras do not have any recording ability. If you are interested in installing a dash cam make sure to reference your owners manual that shows you where on the dash you can install it. I hope this helps and again sorry for the delay!

    if you set that speed at 100 mph-does the car take off like a rocket if there are no cars in front of you?

    Test drove an Outback twice. Finally decided it wasn't the car for me and my daily 100 mile commute. Would be nice if Subaru and the other manufacturers would quit putting so much money (i.e. cost) into the bells and whistles (such as Eyesight) and put it into more practical aspects of the car....such as a comfortable seat, a radio and antenna that will pick up FM stations, a passenger seat that can be moved up/down (hello Subaru, looking at you) and a full size spare tire.

  • @anotherdave5107

    I see that with all the whistles and bells they still can't tell you your coolant temp.

    • @CherryNYC

      @@maneeramsoomai3755 actally did not figure it out; but I took my car back to Subaru Service and they said it happens when snow or rain interfere with the camera lens and when the interference clears up, the eyesight technology will work again

    Is eyesight automatically enabled?

    • @ericalindburg7922
      @ericalindburg7922  6 років тому +1

      Yes, in Subaru's that are equipped with Eyesight, the Pre-Collision Braking and Pre-Collision Throttle Management are automatically enabled. The Adaptive Cruise Control and optional Lane Keep Assist are the two features that do need to be engaged when you want to use them. Hope this helps!

    • @aljackson7828
      @aljackson7828 6 років тому

      Thanks, I bought a 2017 Impreza Limited on Halloween so still getting use to the features. I was under the impression you had to have the cruise control set in order for it to work.

    • @ericalindburg7922
      @ericalindburg7922  6 років тому

      Yes you do need to have the cruise control set to have it work. Just like any cruise control it needs to be turned on and set to the correct cruise speed. After engaged it will automatically work as the adaptive cruise to match the vehicle in front of you.
