I stumbled across this the first road trip in my car due to the eyesite being disabled due to me blocking it with my toll pass placement. Thanks for the reminder on how to use cruise control without eyesite.
@@tonywomersley1256 I don't drive that way. Anybody that needs the Eyesight system has obviously not taken a basic driver's ed class. They obviously shouldn't be on the road if they need Eyesight to let them know what they're doing wrong.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I thought there was no way to switch this to regular CC on my 2016 Outback!! Hate the adaptive CC as it starts slowing you down so far back from the car in front of you!
Although this is a great explanation and video, (and I/we thank you) this does not disable the eyesight, this is turning off adaptive cruise. to turn off eyesight, turn on car, press and hold the eyesight indicator switch for 5 seconds, the system enters standby mode. this will disable the system and all visual and audible signals. ua-cam.com/video/VvI41HhMltQ/v-deo.html

I just want to get rid of the eyesight system. Not necessary.
I'd say you bought into the wrong car type. The eyesight system is there for safe driving, not to close, too fast, too late driving

Maybe the distance is a safer distance to allow for controlled/safer braking ?
@@SuhaibAndrabi you're right - We haven't got the time to leave distances nowadays
Great straight forward video. Thanks!
Thank you!
Love this video , learnt something new but my eyesight still off
Thank you soooo much.
Is that the only thing I need to disconnect for a car wash? 2021 Outback
Yes. Thats all you should need to do.
This is how to disable Adaptive Cruise Control, not how to disable eyesight
Can the safety systems be permanently disabled?
No. The safety system is automatically reactivated when you turn the vehicle back on
