The first woman crying over the journal makes it very clear how she ended up in her MLM. She didn’t get sold on the money opportunity she definitely got sold on the community because she was obviously lacking that in her life to cause her to feel so valued and seen because she got a journal from the company. It’s very sad.
It was really disturbing to watch. I’m positive this was sent to…everyone. Decades ago I was responsible for sending out a letter for every constituent of a Congresswoman’s district, and they had a machine that had her signature plugged in and used an actual pen to sign, so it looked like she signed every letter. That was in 1998. Imagine how quickly that could be done with technology today. But if it elicits this kind of reaction, and inspires this kind of loyalty from people, I can see why these companies do it.
I was going to make a similar comment. Like, come on! That was a mass mailing to either everyone, or new reps, or those who hit a certain goal, etc. Big eye roll!
The woman crying over the journal and card made me so sad. She is probably lacking support and encouragement in her life to be reacting that way, which is an easy in for an MLM.
I had to rewind back to the beginning of the clip because i thought she had lost a loved one or had some tragedy? and that was what the card was about (and initially though, well that's quite nice?). but JEEEESH. girl needs her social media privileges revoked for a week
It’s so, so sad to me that she thinks her company’s CEO is “in her corner no matter what.” Absolutely not. That relationship would end immediately if she left.
@@Daaaanielle I dunno; I am still friends with several of my former supervisors (male & female). I absolutely feel that I could call on them to help me if I needed it. Come to think of it, I did ask for help after my husband died & I realized I needed to sell my house. A former supervisor and her husband helped me paint some of my walls to get the house ready to go on the market, she helped me move to my new, smaller house, she & another former supervisor came to my retirement party, etc.
Yes, it's so sad because people need legit encouragement and relationships but MLMs prey on it by doing the bare minimum by sending cheap-butt "acknowledgement" trinkets and generic messages that are supposed the best thing since sliced bread.
@@Travelling_with_my_dog You know what? Fair enough. I take it back. I remain friends with lots of people from my old jobs and they've even help me find new ones. But it's not a "Have my back no matter what kinda thing". That seems weird, even while in a company. I've seen a lot of people get sacked for being shitty employees, and there came a point where the boss had their back, but they had little remorse letting them go too.
The first story: that card was, almost certainly, part of a mass mailing to independent contractors that her CEO probably didn't even look at. I've done dozens of mailings under the name of my department or organization's executive director. It's pretty standard that, most of the time, the person who "signs" it (in the case of this lady, the CEO) has absolutely nothing to do with mailing, card, or gift. I cannot believe someone would have such an over-the-top reaction. I can't tell if she's lonely or super brainwashed and feels like she just got a card from the Dear Leader. Either way, I hope she finds better support at some point.
Absolutely!! Like nobody actually believes Biden himself wrote and signed all the covid relief letters that were sent out. No big guy actually signs or writes this stuff lol
‘A master class in deceit’. You are far and away the most articulate and well-spoken star in the anti-MLM firmament. You’re a natural teacher. When this MLM thing goes away, your students will be grateful
When she started to cry about receiving an envelope, I was thinking there was a huge check in there. BTW-I work for a financial consumer protection agency and the classic scam technique is making the ins and outs of their "opportunity" so convoluted and complicated, that you feel stupid for asking for explanations. If you don't understand it, STAY AWAY FROM IT! Which is why I stay away from crypto and NFTs.
FOR REAL! My dad keeps encouraging me (an artist) to start 'minting' NFTs, but I don't know a damn thing about crypto so I don't want to TOUCH it for fear of getting scammed
Crypto is really not that complicated. I’ve been investing in it for about a year now-winning some, losing some-and in the end it’s just like any other commodity, really. NFTs, though…lol. The best explanation I can come up with is they’re like digital trading cards, but every one is unique. I don’t get into them because I don’t think they’re that cool or useful an idea; why do I want a piece of digital art that loses its value if I display it? But in the other hand, NFTs don’t *have* to be that, either; if you’ve ever bought a special weapon or weapon skin, or outfit, or shoes or something for your forum avatar or video game character, those are all also NFTs. Lol I don’t know if that helps or makes it worse. If I wasn’t on my phone I’d try to go into more detail, but I hate typing on my phone and this is an older comment/thread anyway. But I do hope it helps and will answer any questions I cant.
crypto and nfts are both terrible for the environment so even if you do understand, don't do it when i say terrible i mean HORRIFIC, they're so bad, and so many nft things have been stealing art from real artists and profiting off it, while the original artist gets nothing
The requirement to buy product is INSANE. How do they not see this??? B/c they love to use Starbucks as an example, my husband worked in Starbucks corp for years and every single employee from barista to executive gets a free pound of coffee a week. Free. And once ever never were they required to buy even one latte. You know why? B/c Starbucks has customers that are not their reps!!
I didn’t realize that some MLM’s require that reps buy stuff personally to retain their rank. I thought that they were simply buying to meet a quota for total sales. That would be bad enough. This is even worse.
The first young lady's reaction was so distressing to me. I was a paralegal. Our bosses didn't just pay us well and provide good benefits; they gave us gifts, cards, surprised us with paid days off, with baseball tickets, gave us *very* generous multi-holiday bonuses, and none of us cried about it. We said "thank you," and we appreciated it, but we also worked for it! To be so emotional over something which is routine for many people with the dreaded 9 to 5 job, speaks to some serious gaslighting about the nature of the working world and employer/employee relations. If you have good, marketable skills, you have a good chance of picking for whom you work and what employment culture works for you.
When i was in Young Living, we always wanted people to sign up with our equivalent of the “home essentials kit” because it consists of products that people go through quicker. daily cleaners, laundry detergent, soap, etc. are used are more often than a random bundle of essential oils, and the reps know that
I'm wondering, do you think it could also have anything to do with the customer's trust? at least from my perspective, if someone was recommending me a bundle & I noticed it just happened to be the most expensive one offered, I would immediately see that as the sales rep deceiving me and just trying to get as much money as possible
@@ouhhoh I’m sorry I just now saw your reply. The Home Essentials Kit was cheaper than the oils kit when I was a distributor, but they ended up paying more in the long run because they would run out of those products more quickly than the oils and needed to reorder. So at first, it seems like a cheaper and more practical option, but its really a manipulation tactic to get you to reorder again sooner.
@@ouhhohYou’ve hit on the other factor… comparative pricing. It’s similar to what restaurants do on their menus and wine lists… they will have a wine priced at an outrageous top price, in order to make the ones immediately below it seem better value. These ones are the ones they can buy cheaply, so make the most profit.
Oh yikes. The cringe from the first clip turned to sadness, there is so much deception that she is under. The vulnerability and loneliness that the company is preying on is truly heartbreaking.
Okay I'm only on the first clip so far, but I have two thoughts: 1. Getting something like that in the mail from the CEO of any company I've ever worked for would have caused me a mega eyeroll moment. It's so hollow, "here's a shitty little notebook," it's like a pat on the head. It reminds me of the time I got a letter from a company I used to work for because I had been working for them for five years. No raise, token, giftcard or anything like that, literally just a letter thanking me for working there for FIVE YEARS. And this is in a job with a super high turnover rate. My husband called it a "crisp pat on the back." 2. She says, "I'm not just a number!" Whew, I got news for you, girl...
LOL, my dad got the training & went to work as a Nursing Assistant after he retired from his job as an insurance guy. His Nursing supervisor GAVE HIM A CANDY BAR as a reward for something one day (he was 70 at that point), and he felt VERY patronized (although it made a good story)
I work a corporate job (I know, I said the C word, the MLM police are banging on my door as we speak 😂), and I get stuff in the mail all the time. Recently, I got a nice beanie, a couple of pens, and - wait for it - a journal, but my reaction wasn’t sobbing on the Internet. My reaction was “oh HELL yeah” and then that was it. I wear the beanie, I use the pens, I write in the journal. The world moves on.
My employer pays 50% of my health insurance, 7% towards my retirement, 3 weeks vacation, 12 weeks 100% paid maternity leave, and as much free freshly ground coffee as I want every day, but…yeah….be excited about a notebook.
The Doterra rep is actually one of the most successful in the company. Last year, she joined the “founders club” and it would be so interesting for you to do a video about that! And how it plays into the structure of an MLM. Basically, the first 200 reps to reach a certain milestone get inducted as “founders” and profit share 2% of company profits forever. Bigggg incentive to keep the top reps in your company instead of being poached to somewhere else!
I know this isn't a LuLaRoe video but I must tell you, just yesterday, I went to a Goodwill Store near the NC /SC state line. When I walked in, I was shocked to see two FULL racks of Lularoe garments, brand new complete with tags still on each and every piece. It was so painfully obvious that someone had just thrown in the towel. I wonder how much that poor person must have lost before she gave up and donated her inventory to Goodwill. Wow......🤯🤯
Yeap I always see them at our Goodwill as well! They even have a $2 rack for them which makes it even funnier because even Goodwill wants to get rid of them fast 😂
I have seen this at thrift stores too!! It makes me happy to at least see that someone is ridding themselves of their LuLaRoe business to hopefully stop losing money 🤞🏼
I know someone who buys them at Goodwill so she can have cheap comfy clothes to clean her house in that she doesn’t mind trashing if she ruins. Win for her 😂.
Having worked at a thrift store, I can say that LLR is almost impossible to sell, and usually gets sent on to be recycled or (sigh) shipped overseas to pollute someone else's environment. Nobody wants it; it doesn't even make good rags, because A) it falls apart, and B) it leaks dye. It's literally worthless.
@@maryeckel9682 Yes exactly right. My friend who doesn't know anything about MLMs or LLR wanted to buy some because they were brand new with the tags still on. I wouldn't let her....and another lady was telling her mom the same thing. Don't bother buying them..not worth it, even at Goodwill prices!
MLMs often send out mass gifts and cards to the members to make them feel special. She's likely one of several hundred that received that journal, it's so silly and kind of sad that she feels really special because of this, and like she was singled out to receive this special gift. I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet this is the case.
i've definitely cried when i've gotten a surprise gift in the mail before (it was a small, cheap stuffed animal, a bunny, that a complete stranger sent to me from my amazon wishlist) but a big part of that story is 1-i'm disabled and don;t really have friends so i'm really isolated 2-i had just gotten home from being verbally assaulted in a parking lot until i cried out of fear and because i was so upset at being called awful names just because of a parking spot - i had been putting groceries into the passenger side of my car (trunk had some furniture or something) and this guy got so mad at me for using the parking spot next to me, despite there being empty spots all over (many of them were closer to the store!) so i had just filed a police report and i was so, so upset, and i couldn't tell my family because they were abusive to me, and i didn't have friends really, and my partner was at work an hour away.... i don't think it's THAT unusual to cry at what you think is an act of kindness if you've felt lonely and maybe unappreciated i've cried over much less, i cried because my partners grandma made a grilled cheese for me once because she forgot i was vegetarian and everything else she made had meat it took like two minutes of her time and she did it because she felt bad for forgetting but it meant so much to me because my family had me making my own food since i was 15, and i wasn't allowed to eat dinner with them more than once a week (and i still had to make my own food) it might not have JUST been about the mlm and i think it's kind of silly to assume it's the only possibility i know it's an mlm that sent it to her and everything but that doesn't mean her reaction was only because of the mlm, and it doesnt mean she's unhinged or something, she's probably just lonely and felt really good about feeling seen and appreciated it's so sad
before anyone says anything i do know it's a manipulation tactic and was probably sent to everyone of her rank or whatever what i'm saying is that it's messed up to comment on her mental health and that reaction being because of the mlm/company exclusively it's like the straw that breaks the camels back, if she's not seen by family and friends and she's feeling isolated, something like that (no matter who sent it) could cause the same reaction - she genuinely thinks someone higher up in the company thought about her and wanted to let her know shes appreciated it's not really what happened, but that's what it seems like she thinks it could really make her feel seen and appreciated, and even if its manipulation, she apparently doesn't realize that and was genuinely touched by that and it's weird to make comments about her mental health when the only things you know are that she's part of an mlm and the leader of the company (or whoever) sent out random gifts to the people working there you don't know what she's going through outside of that, if she's having a hard time and like obviously i'm super against mlms but i just think it's gross the way people are talking about her she is a victim in this interaction, she is being manipulated and it's working and people are making fun of her for crying and feeling appreciated, which could be something she's never felt before (yes even though it's manipulation doesn't mean her feelings aren't real)
Please don’t take this as an insult because it 100% not meant to be. I can honestly say I read through the post of people above this post about that 1st girl crying about the journal and I did not get people were judging or making fun of her. I picked up that people were feeling sad for her that she felt so lonely and unappreciated in her life, that she thought her Mlm preying on her to make them money was a sign of kindness. So all that to say, I’m sorry that you have had a difficult time with your family and bad run in’s with jerks, but I think maybe some of your personal challenges may have made you think people were judging her, but I don’t think from the comments I read anyway, that the intent was judging, I got that most people felt sad for her she saw what most people see a predatory action by her CEO, she saw as an act of kindness. It’s not bad to cry when someone gives you a heartfelt gift or gives you a random act of kindness, that just shows your human, but that poor lady thought her Mlm preying on her was kindness, I think that’s what most people found sad.
@@ladidaohoh3168 clearly you weren't here a year ago when i made that original comment, because the comments i saw then WERE you can't go a year later and assume what you see now is what was there a year ago bless your heart ♥ "personal challenges" yeah that's called lifelong abuse thanks, i don't know how to see things any other way than i do... maybe you should step back and say "hey maybe i should consider that this person, a year ago, talking about a really emotional time, could possibly know what they were talking about and just leave it at that, maybe i don't have the ability to see those comments anymore or maybe i just didn't scroll far enough, because it was a year ago and if i comment now, they'll be notified and they'll have to read back what they wrote and have to remember feeling terrible, so maybe i should just let it go" rather than "oh this person has had some tough times and explained a sad situation in their life, i know! i'll tell them they're wrong and defend comments that probably aren't even here/i probably haven't even seen! that'll make things better for sure!"
Regarding that first video and her reaction: I got COVID very recently and my company has paid COVID leave so I felt very lucky and privileged. I got a care package in the mail! My OPS team supported a local business by ordering some bath and “self-care” products and packaging it up with a hand written note wishing me a speedy recovery. I was very touched! But I can’t imagine myself CRYING and FILMING and POSTING on social media about how much I love my company jfc. It’s a business. It’s a company. It pays my bills. I’m not gonna be an over emotional wreck because they sent a thing I didn’t ask for?
Wow... I literally dissociated after the BL clip. There used to be people in my life who had toxic responses like that. In one case, it was a work situation (a 9-5 no less) who erupted at me before I asked a question. Whew. This world is full of them. Thank goodness for cats! Thank you, Cooper!
Jesse Lee is having an emotional breakdown as we watch. Every video she becomes more and more manic. She’s unhinged. Money can’t buy her love or self esteem. She’s a few months away from a public meltdown.
I went to high-school with her. She was a quiet and chill badass then, she's still a badass now. She has all the tools to be successful, and will always come out of setbacks on top.
15:59 _"'Course I'm not like anybody else, that's why _*_I_*_ get to teach and train the entire profession on how to make money."_ Reminds me of when Rachel Hollis said, _"What is it about me that made you think I want to be relatable?"_ Because that's literally what you sold yourself as, just like B*ssLee sells an opportunity that "anyone" can do if they work hard enough. So why doesn't it happen, B*ssLee????
You absolutely nailed the genuine disbelief that I’ve been thinking for 2 years about Beachbody. When we all got stay-at-home orders in mid-March 2020, between the loss of the gym and the stress of the times - within the limitations of not being able to do cardio too much/hard because I live in an apartment building - I discovered and fell in love with several (and these are a ton to choose from) yoga, power yoga, strength training, core, barre, etc. (it goes on and on) YT channels with tons of videos that are 100% free. Who, if not for awhile at least since COVID work-from-home times, isn’t aware of this? I really don’t see how it’s possible - especially because the Huns are going after people on social media, so they’re not luddites?.
I have a degree in Statistics too and BossLee's response in completely avoiding the question makes me think she doesn't even understand the question (and TBH Measures of Central Tendency is middle school Stats)
At Christmas, my Headteacher gave every teacher a care box, with chocolate, tea, bubble bath, hand sanitizer, etc. When I was having mental struggles, she would let me work from home on mornings where I had no classes on my timetable and come in at lunch. When a whole year had to isolate at our school, and I only taught that year for a day, again, she told us to work at home, even though she could have told us to come into school. All that feels more individual than a journal and at no point did I cry about it. Cause my school is not a cult. And, honestly typing that out, it almost seems dare I say MORE flexible than an MLM!
Yo, this reminds me - during the most recent lockdown in NZ (it lasted four months, which is the longest one we've had), my manager personally dropped off a care package to my house (she left it in my letterbox bc no contact). It contained various snacks, treats, and little stationery items. And the food items were specifically catered to my personal tastes, and everyone in our team got one like it, also personalised to each of them. THAT'S being treated as "more than just a number," not getting a cheap-ass shitty toxic positivity notebook.
Yayyy I sent you that savvy one and it bothers me soooo much! “Monetizing your clothes” is soooooo dumb 😂. Buying overpriced leggings is not monetizing clothes. I can’t take it. I decided to send it to you to keep myself from commenting on her video. Thanks for another great video. You’re such a gem in this community. You’re so kind while debunking their nonsense and I love your style. So classy!
I tried to cancel shakeology and they charged me for THREE more months . I had a nicu baby and was so broke due to loss of wages to stay with him at the hospital3.5 hours away.It was devastating to my food budget. I got complemented for losing my baby weight so quickly, but it was actually because I felt so guilty for falling for the scam that i just took myself out if the meal budget so no one else would be affected.
Oh, adopting WFABB was a HORRIBLE move for iGenius. They inherited all of WFABB's notoriety, infamy, and controversy, which directed all attention towards them. Now antiMLM and the FTC are scrutinizing them, and Monat is probably trying to get some sort of cross-recruiting lawsuit going.
Their recent compliance zoom call was hilarious. The huns are all in complete disbelief that they can't make ANY income claims or flex about purchases, etc.
The YL rep probably has a diffuser in every room (I've literally seen videos where reps do this) and she probably also bought them as presents for everyone in her family so they'd have to start buying oils from her.
The crying over a journal is bizarre!! I have seen plexus huns get really emotional over the c-suite seeing them flowers and stuff. It's weird when they act that way.
Yes I’m sure Draymus has HUNDREDS of people lining up to become a doormat to a person who compared MLM mindset to HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS, and then made a tiktok dancing around laughing about the fact people got offended for saying that. Not to mention claiming to be a therapist which is NOT true.
With that basket of oils… are they stored properly? Are they old? This is why you shouldn’t front load on inventory because these random people don’t know how to store inventory properly and who knows how clean the person is…
I love how you present information, and you speak so well. No wonder you studied education. Also, that girl crying over the envelope- doesn't she realize that it's probably sent to ALL OF THE REPS? It's just a generic copied card, most likely. I get those from my college every semester if I make the Dean's list, and I don't sit and cry over it. I just hang it on the fridge, in silence, and move on, lol.
You can buy everything from YL. It is probably full of laundry soap, Ningxia, or started kits that she intends to sell at a party or farmer's market. When you are in, they convince you that you should buy everything from YL.
Augh, if the tears are sincere, I really kinda feel bad for the Prove It gal. I’m fortunate to work for a (real, for real pay, not “manifestation” pay) organization that sends the employees gifts from the CEO each season-but I certainly don’t fool myself into thinking that the CEO herself is sending them SPECIFICALLY to me and commending ME specifically for my hard work. I know she has her assistant send them to all the employees. And, again, it’s very cool of the company to do that . . . but if that gal believes that she got that package in direct recognition of her specifically . . . arrrgh, it just tells me that she’s never had a job where she was shown any kind of appreciation. I think this is one reason why so many people involved in MLMs rant about “corporate jobs” being soul-sucking-because they’ve never had a skill-based job; they’ve only ever had awful retail jobs with awful supervisors, and the MLM love-bombing seems new and revolutionary.
Young Living had the loyalty program. That's how they get you to stay on the monthly shipment and spending money. Then those loyalty points can only be used in another order, not your monthly order, and it doesn't count towards your pv.
Clip 7 - This is 1000% what MLMs do - I have seen people say they are anti mlm but they just join for the “discount” which is such a crock of bs considering the insane mark up! People anti mlm and pro mlm alike get scammed by this. Even though I would argue if you support mlm in any way. You can not be “kinda” anti mlm.
I wasn't anti MLM at the time, because it was 15 years ago, but I knew they were a scam, because my Mom lost tons of money to Mary Kay in my teens, so I knew to never really get into it. But I joined an MLM for the discount. I never made a single outside sale. I was actually star recruiter 3 quarters in a row because I would recruit people who only wanted the discount and promise they'd never hear from me again, and wouldn't be pressured to sell. A lot just bought the kit then immediately quit, some stuck around for a future discount. I stayed for 3 years and purchased a few times a year. It was a stamp company, that did unmounted stamps, so not nearly as popular as stamping up, but I liked their designs and they were cheaper than almost every option, and the discount made it even cheaper. Of course, they went out of business with no notice, and people who did rely on it for a job were totally screwed. But for the time, it was a great discount, there were no minimums to sell each month, and this was before websites were required, so zero fees. (I also made $0 on my extensive "downline", I think it was 22 I recruited, and nearly 60 with my whole "family" because you did have minimums to get downline commissions, and I never met them because I never sold to anyone other than myself.)
Oh. My. God. The first Pruvit Hun. I don't receive journals from my "9 - 5" employer, but guess what I do receive? Bonuses!!! Actual money for my hard work! And while I'm very happy to have monetary validation for my hard work, I've never once cried. Cringe!
while watching your reaction to the first clip, it struck me how people promoting mlm's always pull the "own-your-own-business" card, and yet in the mlm they always talk about community, and we're in this together, and they have such an insider vs. outsider mindset, just so cultish as you said
you have become one of my favorite channels. i literally click on the video the second it’s posted! lol and you’re growing so fast! you were just at 10k and you’re almost at 15k😳 so proud of the progress you’ve made you deserve it! also i saw your instagram stories about having high anxiety and crying all day (hope you don’t mind me sharing that info here) i can FULLY relate! i have terrible anxiety i’ve always suffered from and it’s been really bad recently. you’re not alone and watching your videos helps ease my mind! :)
My personal trainer has a masters degree and specializes in biomechanics. He charges $150 per hour. He doesn’t have to sell packages or memberships or prospect. I was referred to their center by my physical therapist after a full course of treatment. He drives a Tesla.
I plan to react to her recent tea time because I feel her reaction was unwarranted. Also I appreciate your articulate nature. I'm striving to grow in my videos and I appreciate how you speak
I couldn't help thinking with the 7th lady, "Gee, thanks for the stuff from your junk drawer of oils you couldn't sell! That gives me soooooo much confidence in this business!"
Imagine the absolute talent of MLM-img you must have to be the “number one network marketer” while ranking at 10th in your own company. Defies all odds (or is it logic?)
Oh dear. A support group I'm a part of, just saw post by the creator of the group, sharing of her hair loss journey (again) when I spot the word MONAT 😐 👎 she's crediting Monat with her hair regrowth and is now selling it...
Also....why do all the oil pushers have the energy of a house fly? Is ingesting the oils affecting their ability to seem even remotely interested in their actual products?
I think top fails are one of my favourite kind of anti MLM videos (although there are some zoom calls there are just way too juicy as well). as always love your personal take on each of them. I try to send you content, idk if I have Google drive quite figured out yet
About the Young Living boxes: she probably bought ningxia red. Those bottles come in 2 and 4 packs. They push it heavily!! She also probably gets all her "nontoxic" products like laundry soap form there as well. I would know, I used to do the same 🙀
Just discovered your channel! I’ve been a life long anti-MLMer. I appreciate how articulate you are and the points you make to combat the delusion and manipulation spewed by these people. ❤️
I'm glad you mentioned hustle culture. "A master class in deceit", you nailed it! BL always says she's #1...? Always flexing how rich she is. I don't get it, she's so vulgar, yet her entire downline trys to act just like her. Her dogs are adorable tho. That's the nicest thing I can say about her.
Is it possible that Sobbing Woman GENUINELY believes that she is the ONLY person who received a journal? My work sent me a branded mug once. Every employee got one. They were left over promo items.
I was beginning to worry if Zeke is OK. Luckily he has decided to make an appearance, so I feel better now. 😊 🐕 One of the ladies from a FB groups has just asked for recommendations for her hair loss caused by covid. I already see that someone has recommended some Amway products. Another person something from Forever living. Now I'm just waiting for the Monat huns to chime in. I'm sure I won't have to wait long.
it’s funny how it’s “I am just so glad that I am recognised as a person and not just a number” and not “ I am so grateful they took time out of their day and spent money on me to buy me a gift”
The faces I made in public while watching the first girl…. I feel like she is so completely overly stressed about the MLM and all the stuff she has to do every day and all the forced fake positivity and team calls with so much criticism/someone “putting a fire under your ass” that some little tiny gesture like that made her cry tears of joy…? Idk that’s just the vibe I was getting.
Aw thank you! It’s been a journey for sure 🤣 All of my skincare is linked in the “Amazon storefront” in the description box! Moisturizer Sunscreen Retinol Lactic acid Micellar water and makeup eraser towels All very reasonably priced too! ❤️
I was in doTERRA and we were encouraged to sell the home essentials as well. It was a way of making more money and PV as well as if you’re offering a free incentive it was less of a cost to you out of pocket. It’s been a few years but that’s what I remember.
The definition of a small business is fewer than 100 employees. If MLM recruits looked into their up lines family I think they would realize rather quickly that they’re not in a small business, and it might start the wheels turning about why their up line is pushing so hard that they are running their own business when in actuality they have absolutely no control with where their megaladon of a company is going.
Why does it seem like the MLM Huns are ALWAYS crying?!? Yes he sent you a journal but he sent them to a TON of people. It wasn’t directed towards her directly. It’s just ridiculous!
I've worked for small companies (under 50 employees) and BIG, publically traded companies. When I got messages or "rewards" at the big companies (gifts, bonuses, etc) I knew it was just a "symbolic" message and that my immediate supervisor had more to do with it than anyone. Or, it was something literally every employee received. At the smaller company, the actual CEO would hand out gifts at Xmas, which was nice, but he gave credit to and we all knew it was his wonderful assistant who actually executed the project and wrapped them all pretty!
I clicked on your 12 week program video … watched it all im so doing it! I’m sure you are the best teacher in the world. You explain things do perfect and in order. You are such a great role model for kids and adults. Thank you for your Chanel 😘
The first video was so bizarre. When I was in therapy for post partum depression my therapist sent me a pretty journal to help me work through my depression and even then, in my fragile state, I did not react so emotionally to receiving that journal..
I got a care package from my work mailed to me too. Apricated but did they DIRECTLY send it to me and did I have a crying fit over it..NO..that is ridiculous. Also, does she also think he sent it PERSONALLY, like he knows who she actually is...no, HUN, you ARE just a number to them.
I really enjoy your videos. I especially appreciate how articulate you are and can get your point across with no foul language. The first video with the rep crying was incredibly sad. It gave me the impression that maybe she has lost a lot of old friends & alienated a lot of her family so receiving this gift was the first time in a long time anyone has given her positive reinforcement.
Oh boy. My aunt is a young living distributor. I can tell you what's in those boxes that could take up that much room: The thieves line of cleaning solutions, thieves toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, carrier oil (think olive oil or vegetable oil), droppers, extra labels, extra bottles to make her own blends, the roller bottles, fabric cases to protect oils when traveling (like my aforementioned aunt who used essential oils when she did reflexology on her clients), the fancy Ningxia red bottles for her family to consume (they're pretty large, about the size of a 2 liter soda bottle), and that was just in the early 2000's. I'm sure they have more stuff now.
I purchased Young Living products several years ago from a rep who also used the "It's just like a Costco membership!" line to get people to buy $160 kits. It *sounds* like a good comparison when they say it, but you debunked it perfectly!
19:40 your Young Living actually has a cleaning kit that comes with a bucket and essential oils and rags and spray bottles and all kinds of stuff and it's actually pretty big I think 2 to 4 of them could fit side-by-side in that big box
I just started a job at a company. Junior level position, minimum 50k a year + EXTENSIVE benefits and expense plans as well as 4 weeks vacation and over $2000 towards my home office setup. Also they sent me over $5000 worth of computer equipment (most of which is mine to keep) and I went through a 6-week PAID training. In whattttttttt world do these MLM huns think they’re being treated well when they get bullshit letters in the mail & have to literally beg for sales. I love my job and I never have to be on social media. I’m also helping ACTUAL businesses grow and I’m extremely grateful 😇
I never understood why anyone would ever want a membership for essential oils. I have an entire pouch full of oils and I realistically never use them, I have a few young living ones and they are no different than the ones I got in a kit from Ross. Maybe every once in a blue moon I'll pull out the lavender or the peppermint ones but that's about it, the other ones smell too strong and I just don't have a need for them. It's ashame these people get all reeled into this thinking people are going to spend so much money on oils.
The first woman crying over the journal makes it very clear how she ended up in her MLM. She didn’t get sold on the money opportunity she definitely got sold on the community because she was obviously lacking that in her life to cause her to feel so valued and seen because she got a journal from the company. It’s very sad.
I want her address so I can send her some small gifts. I feel sorry for her.
Oh that’s heartbreaking
Yes it is so sad, you nailed it.
That’s so true. And how she doesn’t realize that she’s probably one of thousands received the book. So sad 😭
Did she for real think the CEO was sitting there thinking of her and went and mailed her a journal? Oh sugar.
Right? I'm sitting here wondering how many other reps were mailed journals with the exact same "hand written" note.
I was going to make a similar comment. Like, come on! That was a mass mailing to either everyone, or new reps, or those who hit a certain goal, etc. Big eye roll!
The “oh sugar” got me 🤣
So sad 😞
Sooo vulnerable
The woman crying over the journal and card made me so sad. She is probably lacking support and encouragement in her life to be reacting that way, which is an easy in for an MLM.
I’d bet money that the note from the CEO with the journal isn’t actually handwritten.
Yeah that’s a good point ❤️
She's clearly *desperate* for validation. So so so sad.
I had to rewind back to the beginning of the clip because i thought she had lost a loved one or had some tragedy? and that was what the card was about (and initially though, well that's quite nice?). but JEEEESH. girl needs her social media privileges revoked for a week
That’s what I thought 😢
It’s so, so sad to me that she thinks her company’s CEO is “in her corner no matter what.” Absolutely not. That relationship would end immediately if she left.
As it should?
@@Daaaanielle I dunno; I am still friends with several of my former supervisors (male & female). I absolutely feel that I could call on them to help me if I needed it. Come to think of it, I did ask for help after my husband died & I realized I needed to sell my house. A former supervisor and her husband helped me paint some of my walls to get the house ready to go on the market, she helped me move to my new, smaller house, she & another former supervisor came to my retirement party, etc.
I'm a nurse and it give me major "hEaLtH cArE hErOeS wOrK hErE" vibes 🤮
Definitely this is what happened.
Absolutely!! Like nobody actually believes Biden himself wrote and signed all the covid relief letters that were sent out. No big guy actually signs or writes this stuff lol
Wow that 'Dear Leader' is what North Koreans call Kim Jong Un.
BINGO
Yep :(
‘A master class in deceit’. You are far and away the most articulate and well-spoken star in the anti-MLM firmament. You’re a natural teacher. When this MLM thing goes away, your students will be grateful
You and Mack Attack would be such an interesting collab…. Both incredibly well-spoken and knowledgeable, with Hannah’s softness on Mack’s snark 😍
Yep I love to tell her this. It’s a whole different level of content and information entirely.
@@Allisonsaul oh that is definitely a collab I would love
I agree - only one up there with her is Mack attack . He is so well spoken , hilarious and really knows his stuff .
@@Allisonsaul - That would be amazing!
Right!? 😂😂😂 That’s 4-digits+ level of tears 🤣
But I do hope it helps and will answer any questions I cant.
crypto and nfts are both terrible for the environment so even if you do understand, don't do it
when i say terrible i mean HORRIFIC, they're so bad, and so many nft things have been stealing art from real artists and profiting off it, while the original artist gets nothing
@@SkwithOv Totally agree; it's a mess all around.
Yup In fact they even call them partners because they all get stock!
When i was in Young Living, we always wanted people to sign up with our equivalent of the “home essentials kit” because it consists of products that people go through quicker. daily cleaners, laundry detergent, soap, etc. are used are more often than a random bundle of essential oils, and the reps know that
Came here to the comments to find this answer, thank you!
Yes, and the laundry detergent is probably the largest item, dimension-wise.
Okay I'm only on the first clip so far, but I have two thoughts:
1. My husband called it a "crisp pat on the back."
2. She says, "I'm not just a number!" Whew, I got news for you, girl...
Exactly! I want nothing from c-suite but money. I don't want anything except more money. Anything else is worthy of an eye roll.
A journal is a one level above a certificate and one level below a company pizza party 🤣
She's not "just a number", she's a *significant* number
LOL, my dad got the training & went to work as a Nursing Assistant after he retired from his job as an insurance guy. His Nursing supervisor GAVE HIM A CANDY BAR as a reward for something one day (he was 70 at that point), and he felt VERY patronized (although it made a good story)
Jelly of the Month Club vibes. Plus "he" didn't sign or send it, some administrative employee did.
After 20 years in the same place, the overload of corporate merch in my home is……too much.
Parents: tell your daughters you love them and that they are beautiful. There - no more MLMs. Fixed it.
It is 2% of 2% for those that keep the rank. So it is 0.02%
I know this isn't a LuLaRoe video but I must tell you, just yesterday, I went to a Goodwill Store near the NC /SC state line.
Thank you for always approaching this topic with grace and kindness! It’s why you’re my absolute favorite anti-MLMer!
Yes exactly right.
Graceful, kind, and the perfect balance of straightforward but diplomatic 😇
Thank you for your support Yolanda!! 🥰
MLMs often send out mass gifts and cards to the members to make them feel special. She's likely one of several hundred that received that journal, it's so silly and kind of sad that she feels really special because of this, and like she was singled out to receive this special gift. I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet this is the case.
i've definitely cried when i've gotten a surprise gift in the mail before (it was a small, cheap stuffed animal, a bunny, that a complete stranger sent to me from my amazon wishlist)
but a big part of that story is
1-i'm disabled and don;t really have friends so i'm really isolated
2-i had just gotten home from being verbally assaulted in a parking lot until i cried out of fear and because i was so upset at being called awful names just because of a parking spot - i had been putting groceries into the passenger side of my car (trunk had some furniture or something) and this guy got so mad at me for using the parking spot next to me, despite there being empty spots all over (many of them were closer to the store!) so i had just filed a police report and i was so, so upset, and i couldn't tell my family because they were abusive to me, and i didn't have friends really, and my partner was at work an hour away....
i don't think it's THAT unusual to cry at what you think is an act of kindness if you've felt lonely and maybe unappreciated
i've cried over much less, i cried because my partners grandma made a grilled cheese for me once because she forgot i was vegetarian and everything else she made had meat
it took like two minutes of her time and she did it because she felt bad for forgetting but it meant so much to me because my family had me making my own food since i was 15, and i wasn't allowed to eat dinner with them more than once a week (and i still had to make my own food)
it might not have JUST been about the mlm and i think it's kind of silly to assume it's the only possibility
i know it's an mlm that sent it to her and everything but that doesn't mean her reaction was only because of the mlm, and it doesnt mean she's unhinged or something, she's probably just lonely and felt really good about feeling seen and appreciated
it's so sad
before anyone says anything i do know it's a manipulation tactic and was probably sent to everyone of her rank or whatever
what i'm saying is that it's messed up to comment on her mental health and that reaction being because of the mlm/company exclusively
it's like the straw that breaks the camels back, if she's not seen by family and friends and she's feeling isolated, something like that (no matter who sent it) could cause the same reaction - she genuinely thinks someone higher up in the company thought about her and wanted to let her know shes appreciated
it's not really what happened, but that's what it seems like she thinks
it could really make her feel seen and appreciated, and even if its manipulation, she apparently doesn't realize that and was genuinely touched by that and it's weird to make comments about her mental health when the only things you know are that she's part of an mlm and the leader of the company (or whoever) sent out random gifts to the people working there
you don't know what she's going through outside of that, if she's having a hard time
and like obviously i'm super against mlms but i just think it's gross the way people are talking about her
she is a victim in this interaction, she is being manipulated and it's working
and people are making fun of her for crying and feeling appreciated, which could be something she's never felt before (yes even though it's manipulation doesn't mean her feelings aren't real)
@@ladidaohoh3168 clearly you weren't here a year ago when i made that original comment, because the comments i saw then WERE
you can't go a year later and assume what you see now is what was there a year ago
bless your heart ♥
"personal challenges" yeah that's called lifelong abuse thanks, i don't know how to see things any other way than i do... maybe you should step back and say "hey maybe i should consider that this person, a year ago, talking about a really emotional time, could possibly know what they were talking about and just leave it at that, maybe i don't have the ability to see those comments anymore or maybe i just didn't scroll far enough, because it was a year ago and if i comment now, they'll be notified and they'll have to read back what they wrote and have to remember feeling terrible, so maybe i should just let it go"
rather than "oh this person has had some tough times and explained a sad situation in their life, i know! i'll tell them they're wrong and defend comments that probably aren't even here/i probably haven't even seen! that'll make things better for sure!"
The first one: Tell me you’re in a cult without telling me you’re in a cult.
I appreciate your professionalism and friendliness in these videos - you are a breath of fresh air!
Me too, she's such a kind bean!
Wow... I literally dissociated after the BL clip. There used to be people in my life who had toxic responses like that. In one case, it was a work situation (a 9-5 no less) who erupted at me before I asked a question. Whew. This world is full of them. Thank goodness for cats! Thank you, Cooper!
She's getting really defensive lately. We must be getting under her skin and she can't even pretend to be nice anymore.
How is BossLee somehow getting MORE unpleasant with every video🥴 She’s a delight in Chelsea’s latest videos too
Jesse Lee is having an emotional breakdown as we watch.

Because that's literally what you sold yourself as, just like B*ssLee sells an opportunity that "anyone" can do if they work hard enough. So why doesn't it happen, B*ssLee????
Boss Lee is so snobbish! Ugh why would anyone want to take mentorship from her? 🤢
i feel bad for the first girl she’s never going to leave. this is clearly a manipulation tactic to keep her in the MLM.
As I'm watching this and Wheel of Fortune, the final puzzle was buying a new journal.
So classy!
Thanks for sending that one my way Meredith!! Yeah the instant I watched it I was like “monetizing their clothes”???
She also fails to mention that “one time fee” also signs you up for a monthly subscription to shakeology or supplements
You are able to cancel but it is a pain.
She has a TON of diffusers actually. And she has a reel showcasing them all.
I genuinely hate seeing these huns cry, because their misery and stress is leaking and I have empathy for people suffering. But also...yikes. 😬😱
Oh young living sells thieves EVERYTHING: laundry detergent, house hold cleaner, soap, etc. So those bottles would be bigger.
Good point!!
Responding like the poll like that was a genius! I’d love a video on how to respond to tactics in a non-aggressive but funny way
That first girl will cringe so hard when she looks back at her crying over a journal - I'm cringing!
With that basket of oils… are they stored properly? Are they old? This is why you shouldn’t front load on inventory because these random people don’t know how to store inventory properly and who knows how clean the person is…
Whenever you say we’re about to watch a video of a hun displaying really odd behavior I know we’re in for a treat 😂😂
You and Deanna Mimms are definitely the best Anti-MLMers I love your kind approach to it not putting down the people but the MLM
Cringe!
Yes!!
I don’t knowwww…. I think I’d rather have a journal! 🤣
Coo-purr and Mr. Mu-Zeke 🤣
So important to share these. I feel for anyone who falls for MLMs.
Subscribed!
while watching your reaction to the first clip, it struck me how people promoting mlm's always pull the "own-your-own-business" card, and yet in the mlm they always talk about community, and we're in this together, and they have such an insider vs. outsider mindset, just so cultish as you said
you have become one of my favorite channels. i literally click on the video the second it’s posted! lol and you’re growing so fast! you were just at 10k and you’re almost at 15k😳 so proud of the progress you’ve made you deserve it! also i saw your instagram stories about having high anxiety and crying all day (hope you don’t mind me sharing that info here) i can FULLY relate! i have terrible anxiety i’ve always suffered from and it’s been really bad recently. you’re not alone and watching your videos helps ease my mind! :)
Thank you so much for your support and kind words!! 🥰
I love that these beach body girls really think they’re personal trainers once they become “coaches” they’re talking about clients 😂😂😂
Right! And did you know it’s all for only $160!!! Sign me up coach! 😂
My personal trainer has a masters degree and specializes in biomechanics. He charges $150 per hour. He doesn’t have to sell packages or memberships or prospect. I was referred to their center by my physical therapist after a full course of treatment. He drives a Tesla.
You made my day by posting today! Thank you Hannah for posting
Eagerly anticipating every video!! Thank you for working so hard to provide us with bingeable content :) thanks Hannah!
I'm constantly being automatically added to Zyia rep groups. It sucks. I'll leave and then a few days later, I'm back in it. Ugh!
My company flew me to Texas to film for them, completely paid for. The CEO gave me a gift card, and a handwritten note. I did not cry LMAO
As soon as you said “Heather Robertson,” I was like YES. Her workouts are amazing.
Totally unrelated to the topic but Hannah your hair is so perfectly smooth and it’s soooo satisfying 😍🤣 And not a drop of Rejuvenique in sight!! 😝
Hahaha thank you!! Moroccan oil! 😉
I think top fails are one of my favourite kind of anti MLM videos (although there are some zoom calls there are just way too juicy as well). as always love your personal take on each of them. I try to send you content, idk if I have Google drive quite figured out yet
Wow, the first clip makes me so uncomfy!
Omg so much Dotera in that drawer! That poor woman just seemed so burned out! She definitely wasn’t convincing anyone to join. So sad.
I can’t believe how fast its gone and how many anti mlm videos you have now! Amazing 😻
About the Young Living boxes: she probably bought ningxia red. Those bottles come in 2 and 4 packs. They push it heavily!! She also probably gets all her "nontoxic" products like laundry soap form there as well. I would know, I used to do the same 🙀
Yes great point that I didn’t think about!
I'm convinced her downline are masochistic.
One of the ladies from a FB groups has just asked for recommendations for her hair loss caused by covid.
She knew that this journal got sent out to hundreds of other distributors they see anything as an opportunity to cry and use emotional manipulation
Hannah I think I speak for a lot of people here but please share your skincare routine, your skin is flawless !!!
Aw thank you! It’s been a journey for sure 🤣 All of my skincare is linked in the “Amazon storefront” in the description box!
Moisturizer
Sunscreen
Retinol
Lactic acid
Micellar water and makeup eraser towels
All very reasonably priced too! ❤️
I was in doTERRA and we were encouraged to sell the home essentials as well. It was a way of making more money and PV as well as if you’re offering a free incentive it was less of a cost to you out of pocket. It’s been a few years but that’s what I remember.
1:36 Right off the bat starting with so much cringe from this MLMer.
It's just a Love Bomb
Very good, thorough analysis of these MLMs.
Hannah! Your expressions are toooo funny. Love your channel and the Kitties. I have 2 myself !
That is a very good point about comparison if a Principal sent teachers a journal- they would think you were unhinged if you acted that way🤣
The first video was so bizarre. When I was in therapy for post partum depression my therapist sent me a pretty journal to help me work through my depression and even then, in my fragile state, I did not react so emotionally to receiving that journal..
You know someone in prove it corporate watched her video and said, hey guys, those send outs we did for our reps really worked well.
I am so happy to see your smiling face today! Today was a rough one, and your videos always cheer me up!
Aw so sweet Jessica! This week has been rough for me too. Thinking of you!
@@HannahAlonzo I'm sorry you're having a rough week! I hope it gets better for you!
I worked at CORPORATE for an MLM. I disputed charge backs DAILY. Mostly expensive AUTOSHIPS.....sneaky fine print not brought up when recruiting.
