- This is probably the best zoom lens for portraits and event photography I've had. I really like it!
Cameras used: Sony a7IV, a7c, a6600, zv-e10
Lenses: Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8mm, Sony 10-18mm f4, Sony 50mm f1.2 GM, Sigma 30mm f1.4

This lens is the holy grail of portrait lenses !
Best reviews I've seen in this lens. I love to see lots of shots and situations. Gillian was amazing
Thank you! Glad to help and I will let her know!
This is a killer portrait zoom. I tried it yesterday in store and take a shot of my father. Sharp, top bokeh, contrast, colors. Instant love. Got it.
I have shot so many weddings and portraits with it! It has made its money back!
I watched a lot of videos from tons of creators and this was the best. You helped make my mind up. The sample pictures were beautiful. Thanks and keep up the good work
Thanks you 🥹
The best lens review I have watched on UA-cam... This lens is great
Thank you for spending so much time on this.
Fantastic model... and all rounded beast lens!
Jillian is great and the lens is fantastic!
Great video, thank you!!
I actually really appreciated this review and I’ve seen plenty! I’m sold!👍🏼
Thank you so much! Glad it could help!
7:18 those eyes !
Gillian is a fantastic model.
Yes she is and she’s also super talented with the violin 🎻 and music in general!
Gorgeous work mine is coming soon I'm crazy excited and there aren't too many portrait people giving insight on this lens the way I'd like but great work
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Going from Canon to Sony I never expected to be shopping Tamron lenses, but as a portrait guy, on the move, this range is it! I shot with 70-200 for over a decade, and while the compression is nice at 200, I think the 35 vs 70 on the wide end is 10 times more useful. Great showcase video and beautiful model too.
Great review! 💕 I also bought this lens and love it!! 😊
Thank you!! I’m glad you love it! It’s a great workhorse of a lens!
Thanks bro!! Amazing vídeo and techniques!!
Thank you!!!
i cant wait to buy this lens..... few more months.... the best lens ever made
It is! It was worth the investment!
This was Great!! so many videos talking about the lens but none showed us this!!!! i just purchased a 105mm nikkor vintage lens. i shoot with a D3200, so with its crop sensor that 105 becomes a 157mm so i needed to seen how it shot. Thank you!
I didn’t even think this could help like that! Thanks for the feedback!
Dream Lens Best Zoom Portraiture Lens Ever Made... the Trinity in one...
Very patient woman!
Thank you 😊
Lol yes! I’m grateful she let me do this 😅
Hey man, amazing video, that's what I wos looking for🙂could I as you one question, did u used any spoedlight or different sort of light with those portraits,or is just a natural light?beautiful edits ,looks really nice👏
Great video and images
Thank you!!
Just picked up this lens for my A74, can't wait to put it to good use! Seeing your work and what this lens can do it makes me tempted to part with my Batis primes. 25/85
You don't have to part with them if you like those lenses but I'm a gear head so there's that... I kept my 85mm 1.4 and 35mm 1.2 and still use those lenses whenever I can!
Very patient model. haha Nice sample of the look of this lens. Thanks! Can't wait for the Nikon Z version to be available.
had to buy this as my 24-70 had to be given to the second shooter. Got a few events so it would be perfect for that too.
Great content!!! Thank you!!! You made my decision easier!!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great for indoor sports! This replaced my 70-200 GM 2.8 version 1. I am able to shoot team photos as well as action on the court and carry only one lens.
Impeccable work with the Tamron 35-150mm F2-F2.8 lens.
I intend to purchase the Tamron 35-150mm F2.8-F4 Version of this lens for both the Canon and Nikon Mounts in the DSLR format. Alongside a Youngnou 85mm.
Thank you! It’s a great lens. Hope you like them!
I’m really curious to try the 50-400mm
Very nice, tahank you!
Amazing review mate. Crazy how although the aperture grows, when you film/photograph at narrower focal lenghts, the bokeh behaves pretty much the same way due to the increase of compression. This lens has a lot of science behind
Thank you! I enjoyed making it!
@Michael Diamante just got this lens a couple of days ago, it's biiig!😂 I'm very happy tho, it produces an amazing image, it's a high quality lens and you feel it straight away :)
@@ClaudioDesideriFilms you’re going to enjoy it! I got mine when it first came out and it has made its money back several times over on projects that I’ve used it for. Most of weddings I shoot are on this!
@Michael Diamante I understand exactly what you mean because as soon as I purchased it, I got a 2 days gig which will make up for the investment straight away and I'm looking forward to using it on that project! Paired with my A7siii (and A7iii for photos) it produces great footage😉
THIS is how you do a lens review. Show us, rather than talking about it! Thanks!
I got a chance to hold this lens at a camera shop but couldn’t justify dropping the cash on it right now. It was surprisingly lighter than I expected. It’s reasonably heavy but not bad, just wish it had a collar.
Oh and excellent video!
I add a cage on my camera just to have a little bit more protection and it kinda gives it a little more balance. It is a chunker though so probably a collar would be nice!
Thank you!
Thank you for the video. does the arm get very tired after a full work day?
You’re welcome! And no it doesn’t. It’s better than carrying two camera and two lenses all day
Very beautiful smile Gillian 😊
Nice....👍 You've just earned yourself a Sub...👌
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Thanks for this vidéo. Is it possible to use this lens with the A6400 ?
You’re welcome! And yes you can but it will be very big on it and it will look more like a 53-225mm f3-4.2 depth wise
Can you do a comparison with the new Samyang 35-150?
If i can afford to buy it in a few months i will!
hi.. how far you need to be to get the headshot in 125mm to 150mm..??
Probably the best review on this lens I´ve come by, thanks! My understanding is they only make it for Sony...? I use Canon and have no intention of going to Sony :) Maybe, one day...
Thank you so much! Unfortunately for now it is only Sony! But I hope they release it for other mounts because it’s just a joy to us!
Do your 35-150 lens, have this weird internal knock, when you move the lens up down like mine does. It goes away when mounted on the lens and turned on. This is the biggest zoom I ever had prior to this I have the Tamron 17-28 and it doesn't have this level on knock in the lens. I had posted it on my YT reel showing this internal knock sound.
I’m not sure but I know some lenses have floating elements like the Sony 20mm f1.8 and it totally normal. I say if it’s take great photos it’s still good! If it’s soft then I’d start worrying.
Pretty sure that's just the nature of a linear focus motor. The focusing elements sit on rails and are able to slide around when the lens is not powered on.
Hello, what do you think about it, fot a travel lens and trekking?
No good , it’s too heavy. I’d rather use the 28-200. Which is what my next video is about. 28-200 vs 35-150
@@mdiamante usually, in Mountain i go with 17-28, 45 1.8 and 70-200 f4
@@lorenzo4262 check out my videos on the 28-200 specially the one from Washington state. I really enjoy that lens and covers most of the focal lengths I want and you can even get some portraits with e 200mm end
have you tested the new 20-40 2.8?
No, I don’t have money for it 🥹
thanks for this review., I just switch from canon to sony because of this lens.
Congratulations! I’m excited for you. This lens is definitely worth it. What camera did you land on?
@@mdiamante i have a7iv and im just waiting for the lens to be delivered.
Great review! I'm trading in my 24 to 105MM f4 Sony for this lens. IF I can find one in NYC THEY ARE SOLD OUT
Thank you! It’s an excellent lens!
Do you still recommend this lens for weddings ?
yes, I still use it for weddings. in fact I have two now. one for me and one for my second photographers
@@mdiamante have you compare that to Sony 24-70 ? I don't think they are at the same level in terms of sharpness.
@@earthgraduate726 yes they are insignificant to my clients and if I wanted to I have topaz ai if I really want to sharpen my photos.
What are the names of the songs/artists?
@14:03 But grain adds sharpness...
That is not the case for me. Grain takes away detail when I increase the size of the grain and increase roughness and the only reason I do that is because I'm going for a filmic vibe.
@@mdiamante Sure, yeah, if you apply it in that way you'll reduce sharpness. But generally speaking, film grain is often utilized (1-2%) as an organic sharpening method, because it adds detail and texture. It's especially useful when enlarging photos and video footage because it gives the illusion of enhanced resolution.
@@basic-decaf this did come across my mind when I was responding to you. It applies to true film. Digital is sometimes too sharp for me so simulating grain helps give that soft nostalgic feel.
