Hey Taylor, do you think your course is most definitely for a wedding shooter only? I do events, mostly small gatherings (families and companies), and some documentary photography. I would like to try more video. But I don't do weddings. Thanks.
Wow, crazy how you’re shooting almost all your shots wide open. Id be afraid of missing details or get a few faces not focuse. But hey, that’s why you’re the pro and im the begginer. Good stuff
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Sir, please help me decide. I do events - exept weddings for now. I am torn between the Samyang/Rokinon and this. If money isn't an issue, what would you ultimately buy to keep and use full time. Btw, I got the Sigma 85mm f1.4 DG DN and the 40mm f1.4mm DG HSM too. I just want to consolidate my gear. Out of convenience and speed of workflow. Thanks and more power to your channel. =)
Great video. I’ve invested in the R3 & 28-70 f2. but thinking it may be a bit OTT. How do find A7iv autofocus in comparison? Anything you miss from the r3?
hi Taylor, Great Video but I have a question, does this lens have auto aperture change while zooming? I am a Indian wedding photographer and is this lens great for an all-in-one type lens?
You kind of need something wider like a 20 or 24 prime. I’d also do a 50 or 85. To answer what id do: Sony 20mm 1.8 or Tamron 20mm 2.8 (really inexpensive and good) and the new Sony 50mm f1.4
I switched to shooting in Aperture Priority, since I found out about a setting commonly used in sports-or wildlife photography which is the minimum SS. I set this value to - let's say 200 - dialing in the auto Iso range and I'm good to go :)
@@criticaltinker yep, that's where the minimum shutter speed comes in handy...I can set it to 1/2000 or faster and let the camera choose the right iso (in the range or your choice)
I can see why this would be a very versatile lens for weddings. I bought it because I shoot sports and it is the absolute best lens for court sports (Basketball, dark shitty high school auditoriums) that I’ve ever used! This lens means no compromises in anything. Great reach at 150mm. Perfect wides at 35mm. Wide open at 2.0 let you stop down for even crispier crispies. Oh Laws yes, I hardly ever take this off my camera indoors anymore.
Taylor.... since you're shooting manual.... using Auto ISO??? Since it seems you are shooting wide open for many of the shots, and the Aperture is varying zooming in and out from f/2.0 - f/2.8??? or adjusting Shutter Speed, as you go??? Can't wait for a Nikon Z variant of this lens. TIA
Hey Taylor! I just got my 35-150 to pair with my A7III! I am coming from a Sigma 24-70. I shoot in manual and in RAW. I've got presets that I have developed to increase my workflow. I've noticed that the colors are rending a little differently than that of my Sigma. Does the Tamron 35-150 produce a warmer tone?
I own the Tamron for my Nikon Z (via FTZ adapter) and its incredible for Aquarium photography both in FX and DX modes depending on how much reach I need. Colors from it are amazing too.
This lens on the Nikon Z5 and Panasonic S5 Mark ii would be impeccable shame we can't get this lens for Canon Mirroless it would be great for the Canon R7 and Canon R6 Mark 2
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto thank you! Eyeballing this lense to make parts of the day much easier, it seems. Mist filter effect is a bonus for less skin editing..Ha!
One question : In INDIA during wedding handheld photography most photographer use speedlight all the time day or night But you don't use speedlight why?? Photographer answer me light bring clarity and sharpness to photos.. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
nice tuto but i was expecting more tricks on focus area (wide, wide tracking, zone, zone tracking, extended spot tracking...), face and eye detection, ... which can be challenging on a7IV. I have currently bad experience with a7iv with zone tracking with face dettecion on people coming to me at 10-20m. face is not detetcted until they are too close. i tried in parks, with joggers, couples walking,... and only extended spot tracking was reliable, which is a pity for best focus on eye on planet. my iphone pro max detetcs faces much better than a7IV !
Great content. May I ask, is it a bodycam you use for walk-arounds?
Hello! What color profile do you shoot in? Thank You! I've had this lens for my Nikon Z6II for 3 days. Excellent!
Very good video. Thank you. Have used my 35-150mm f/2-2.8 for two weddings and it was great.
Great video as always. I shot a wedding there last summer and working around that crane in the background was driving me nuts all day 😅.
How many total photos did you take in that event and what was the total deliverable count after edit ? any rough number you can share ?
35-150 is great! Are you still Using the Stella Reflex?

I think a lot of it could apply, but it’s for sure a bit more targeted at weddings. There’s also the 100% money back guarantee if it’s not for you

Thank you alot for this video. Its golden for me or someone who is thinking to start photographing weddings or events.
Thanks for watching!

What tripod mount lens collar do you use?
debating on selling on canon gear and switching to sony for this lens but idk if i can do it
what is that thing that holds your gopro?

Love that 35-150.
Great for senior pix too!
It’s a hero of a lens
What's the issue with guests using cameras at a wedding?
Alo alo, in your opinion . What would be the best lens to pair this with no budget.?

I did a wedding summer 22 with this lens, was very happy with my photos/video. Same camera.
Can I pair Tamron 35-150mm f2-2 with Sony i9 two or Sony I9? Do I need to buy an extra connector?
I’m not sure what the i9 is
@TaylorJacksonPhoto Sorry I mean Sony A9
This is a really cool location for a ceremony :)

Sometimes auto iso with lens. A lot of the time not weirdly. I don’t know if that’s right or wrong tho
Do you shoot Auto ISO during the ceremony?
Sometimes I will. For this I didn’t though

Was your flash on your camera at those first shots? Any modifier on it?
I don’t think it would have been. Even to bring a flash out during the first dance is rare for me
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Oh in the video you said yes, there is a flash on….the pics of the bride in the room at the beginning?
Oh you’re probably right then. Sorry this wedding was from last summer. No modifier, but would have been bounced

This lens in L Mount? I thought only E mount
Always awesome content! Like with a 1/8 pro-mist filter...so the 35-150 is slightly soft in a flattering way?
Yah. And when lights come straight down the lens (car headlights for instance) it looks exactly like a 1/8th mist filter

Great pics bro
The 🐐 of lenses! It is heavy AF 😂 After 8 to 10 hrs my back is toast.
Haha first wedding of the season is going to be hard on the arms haha
lente excelente, parabéns pelos videos, Odair , Birigui city, brasil
I actually intend to purchase the DSLR Version of this lens in both Nikon and Canon mounts. Its like 650 uk pounds
I haven’t tried that one, so I’m not sure what stays true to it from this version. Hopefully it’s good though!
Dslr version is a stop slower throughout the range.
Thanks!
🍕
Why not use the A7R5?
This was from last July
That crane goes to a lot of weddings.🤪
great video

I just have it set to full wide points face and eye on and never really have any problems. No one’s really jogging during a wedding tho
Tamron is making a Call of Duty game you play as a Navy SEAL photographer and your only lens is tgr Tamron 35-150.
Canon 💔
Maybe they’ll eventually allow it
