Are you all stupid, or is this just a contest ? Listen to what HE says, stop thinking of what YOU would like him to say ! Then, read all comments published here... full of useful informations for those who doubt, or deny, or express without knowing. Especially the comment from "cinegenies4651", who used to own several Samyang lenses. A friend of mine, professional full-time DP, bought a Samyang lens in 2014. I don't remember which model exactly, but I do know it was my first time hearing about this brand and that he was very pleased with it. The purpose was to film rehearsals and spectacles of a dance company, so he needed something light and with a good aperture. When I met him at Musée d'Orsay (at sublime parisian museum, located in a former train station), where he was filming an entire show, he had no Samyang lens in his kit. After this first one, he told me about two others, which eventually got returned for reliability problems and aperture blades lacking smoothness (a major problem when filming in low-light conditions if you need to use the full capabilities of your lens, especially bought for this very purpose !). And that he also sold the first one, to prevent the same malfunctions from occurring while filming. He said about Samyang being "too much of a lottery", when it comes to reliability from item to item. Have you ever wondered why cine/TV gear-renting companies (very) rarely have Samyang AF-lenses in their offers ? I've seen just one, but it's their "economy" offer and it's all non-AF cine lenses. When in doubt, whatever the topic, just watch closely at how the experienced professionals behave with it. When it's your way of paying the bills and putting food on the table, you do care about how your gear will perform. A LOT ! Exemple : personally, I will never ever use again products from BOYA, as they are totally unreliable... lesson learnt !

I will! is in my to do list is just difficult because I work doing Video Production Full time and also run a Wedding company so between those two it makes it difficult to get on camera but I am working on finding the right balance between the 3.
I love this video, my issue with this lens is that when I change to MF from AF the lens just bug and the camera stop recording (like removing the lens )then it make a reset and they work (maybe)
Yeah I didn’t had that option for Sony. You have to buy a separate adaptor to update the lens I’m already over 1,000 for this lens, why do I need to buy something else extra just to update it.
it's about 60 grams heavier than the Tamron... that is to say, nothing. Nobody else has suggested focusing is a problem -- Christopher Frost seems to say it's good. As for the lens tube slowly extending when inverted, you can lock it but I am wondering why that would be a big problem (lots of lenses do that). That all said, I'm thinking the Tamron is probably better, based on what I have heard.
Well actually a lot of people had issues with the focusing, and I know everyone is saying well you needed to do a firmware update ok I agree with that but what I don’t agree with is buying a separate device after I spent more than a thousands dollars to make it work. My Tamron is more expensive but the user experience has been better (no need to update, it worked straight out of the box) it focuses way better in my opinion and in all the weddings I have use my Tamron I had zero issues. Perhaps I had a bad copy but that my opinion about the lens the user experience was horrible
