@LilTreFlipG A fight stick is standard for every tournament. Its not difficult to switch between ps3 controllers to xbox controller but it still a difference and one might not do their combos input correctly. A FS will make everything easier and help solve this problem
@LilTreFlipG Well Most people believe that you shouldnt play on the pad anyway because your at a disadvantage against people who use stick because they have more mobility and have a larger access to the buttons (four fingers instead of a thumb and Index finger)
I don't know whats going through Wongs head, but he did shake hands and man hug after the match, he can't be all mad. I think hes trying to bring that element of banter to the games.
can someone please tell me how diago didn't show up in finals. didn't he not lose all fights and didn;t he owned justin? am i missing videos, if so who did daigo lost against? By the way, jutin has changed a lot since i played him from ny nyclan tourney 2 years ago. He wasn't that cocky back then, must have happened overnight or something
It's not the fact that people are taking it personally. It's just the fact that there is a complete difference between being cocky and being a good sport. Shaking a persons hand after you get all in their face isn't having good sportsmanship. That's just going through the motions and you heard the crowd get after him.
I really wanted Mike Ross to win, going that far with a character like E Honda has merit in itself. To go that far with a character so low tier and with so many weaknesses, Ross gets props from me.
Wong brings so much hype to the table. I agree he could learn to chill maybe a little bit. But it's not like Mike Ross is a complete stranger to him. I love gootecks in the background "WEST COASTT, WEST COAST".
They shook hands in the end and respected each other as equals, the end. I dont think Justin should of been in his grill like that but we dont know what was said between the two prior to the match. As long as they shook at the end, its cool.
I expected more from Rufus...Why didn`he continue the combo on several occasions, after Messiah kick?! He could do at least Snake strike, or even an Ultra combo finish...The Honda guy just could not chill after the first loss, I think he did not play at his best shape, and I believe he`s a much better player than he looks like.If only I could fight any of those two guys, it would be even better and more fun!Kudos to the uploader for his work.
Whoa whoa, really now, nothing wrong with getting hype, especially since he DID just win a nationwide championship. Ross and Wong know each other, it's not a big deal, really.
I havent seen any vids of Mike Ross so I can't say anything about him and how he uses him. BUT from what i see, he didnt really play him as aggresively as he should of. Justin Wong is great but when you give him too much time to think he has a plan ready and will win. you can pull off combos with E.Honda thats one reason why he lost. and yeah staying back wasnt a good idea he needed to get closer and use that judo chop
they're both friends.i think. i personallly think taunting changes the game and makes it more exciting. i play sf4 at home with my buddies and the shit talking(to a certain extent) is quite entertaining.
Like i understand that Justin Wong is trying to prove something. He is the best SFIV player in the U.S. But Mike Ross is a classy guy, and respects his opponents
none of you that hate on justin seem to think. he always shakes the dudes hand after the match. during the match hes not his friend, hes literally trying to beat the shit out of him. you guys need to quit taking it so damn personal.
I think the reason why people hate on Justin is that he's not exactly the classiest winner out there. I don't blame the guy though, because when SFIV is your life you tend to get carried away in the major winnings. For those who hate on Justin, he'll be a virgin for life...isnt that punishment enough. Justin, you are my SFIV hero.
Daigo was eliminated early in this tournament. Justin actually eliminated the guy who beat Daigo, and went on to win in the finals(this video). The video that shows Daigo vs. Justin was an exhibition video. Justin probably wasn't taking it seriously since it didn't mean anything, tournament wise.
@EmbodiedArgosax they are friends. i am pretty sure you have gloated about beating your friends at something in your life. this is all that it is but justin haters of course will just make a big deal out of it not understanding the situation, but yea he probably would not do that to other people that are not close to him and he hasn't. the "worst" he does is pump the crowd after he wins a round but that can hardly be considered bad but again justin haters will make big deal about it.
First of all, they probably know each other somewhat. And it was probably just friendly trash cause in the end, it didn't stop them at the end from embracing. You guys need to simmer down
I disagree. First off E honda is not a combo character. Secondly do you really want to jump in at rufus and against justin wong with and eat an ex snake strike for 30% damage everytime. Lastly, yes this is the Finals. Mike Ross won 1 and 2 in california, took a flight to georgia for round 3 and won, and placed 5th the same day in an sf iv tournament with 240 entrants.
Mike Ross probably deserved it. Justin Wong likes to win and is cocky sometimes but he doesn't go do that shit unless Ross started something first. Jwong's a nice guy.
Not at all.... he's fighting a Rufus, one of the best inside fighters in the game. E.Honda has 0 to no combo game that would get him anything more than an ex messiah kick to the face against Rufus. He did the right thing by staying back and playing defensively.
There is nothing wrong with what Justin did, he only did it to win, mind games its called and its not against the rules. As long as he didn't say something like "your moms a ho" or sticking obscene signs at him then its all good. Sometimes if you wanna win, u gotta be ruthless, the good guys come last.
Talking trash also gets into the head of the other player. If someone is yelling at you while you are doing bad, it's going to get to you and your confidence is going to go down along with your skill. I still agree with your post.
Good effort by Mike Ross. I'm a huge Justin Wong fan and all, but dude needs to get a haircut. : ) Justin is actually a very humble dude in real life. The hype you see here is just for show. He definitely learned this behavior from his friends.
Definitely man. Taunting your opponent, especially face-to-face, will make them lose focus. But also, it depends on how the other person takes shit-talking. I understand what you are saying with your friends, cause my friends and I do the same thing. However, there is always one friend in a group, including mine, that takes it way too seriously and gets pissed off when we are all just messing around. Personally, if I were competing and someone got in my face, I would punch them.
The game itself has a command to taunt. Personally, I'm more reserved and won't celebrate if I win a tournament, but I won't get angry at someone else who does if they beat me. As long as he's not insulting his opponent mid-match, it should be fine. I think they're friends anyway so it's their business.
@xtstonex, Homie, did I say anything about trash talking being wrong like anywhere in my original comment? Please learn to read before you make assumptions.
When it gets to this level of play, it is along the same lines as a sport. Hence SPORTSMANSHIP is expected. But judging from your comment, education isn't so high on your to-do list.
@studioping /watch?v=lMTDHZML8Hk&feature=channel_video_title, so u can see it by yourself, everything was done so people could get hype and shit if ur really in the fighting game community than u know whats up
What's funny about this video is that mike is black and he's from LA where most of the good player base is asian, whereas justin is asian american from NY where I assume most of the good player base is black. Mike is the respectful one whereas justin is the hype in your face type one. Clearly, it's not a race thing but a coast thing. Justin is acting like the typical new yorker.
It's good to see Justin and his homeboy play at a big tourney such as this. they showed each other at the end. kudos to that
@LilTreFlipG A fight stick is standard for every tournament. Its not difficult to switch between ps3 controllers to xbox controller but it still a difference and one might not do their combos input correctly. A FS will make everything easier and help solve this problem
Wow seeing how jwong acted in this match it makes it all the sweeter watching him get smoked by Daigo =D
I think hes trying to bring that element of banter to the games.
yeah and if you watch the documentary IGOTNEXT you see them hanging out loads.
well.. they are friends. they are just having fun like they do all the time..
In this game, yes. I meant in the games they have played before, such as Street Fighter III =).
I love the way how Justin Wong goes to Mike Ross face when he wins the first and second round.
can someone please tell me how diago didn't show up in finals. didn't he not lose all fights and didn;t he owned justin? am i missing videos, if so who did daigo lost against?
By the way, jutin has changed a lot since i played him from ny nyclan tourney 2 years ago. He wasn't that cocky back then, must have happened overnight or something

@supermariofan546
Wait.. Then why was Justin here and not daigo?
man im with you on this
I really wanted Mike Ross to win, going that far with a character like E Honda has merit in itself. To go that far with a character so low tier and with so many weaknesses, Ross gets props from me.
you people need to understand that this is extremely COMPETITIVE gaming and what jwong was doing is all apart of a good show for the audience
Wong brings so much hype to the table. I agree he could learn to chill maybe a little bit. But it's not like Mike Ross is a complete stranger to him.
I love gootecks in the background "WEST COASTT, WEST COAST".
@Allistar123 ohh ok so i was wrong , it's just that mike ross didnt even act like he knew justin in this video
i love how he goes up to mike after he wins the first round like: yeah!! wattup biatch! XD
Mike Ross and Justin have history together. It's basically a rule that Justin is supposed to say something to Mike after he wins a match.
They shook hands in the end and respected each other as equals, the end.
I dont think Justin should of been in his grill like that but we dont know what was said between the two prior to the match. As long as they shook at the end, its cool.

no they're good friends, they've played eachother hundreds of time justin was joking with him, I've met justin wong he's pretty docile
@gaara1227 They are friends.
Whoa whoa, really now, nothing wrong with getting hype, especially since he DID just win a nationwide championship. Ross and Wong know each other, it's not a big deal, really.
@pen15l4nd i think cause it was a us tourny i think o.o, and diago didnt enter. lol
I havent seen any vids of Mike Ross so I can't say anything about him and how he uses him. BUT from what i see, he didnt really play him as aggresively as he should of. He was just having fun with his friend
i enjoyed watching him play daigo after this vid, big time
You should've seen him in the EVO09 final. Good thing he got facepwnt by Daigo.
@enervated not really people don't have to only use shotos to be good
they're both friends.i think.
i personallly think taunting changes the game
and makes it more exciting. i play sf4 at home with my buddies and the shit talking(to a certain extent) is quite entertaining.
haha. why dont they fight afterward?
Those taunts made by Justin were fine, also Justin and Mike know each other it's not like they are complete strangers.
That was a semi-final match.
Why isnt valle playing?
again? Daigo never played Wong in a final until yesterday.
are they using sticks??
Like i understand that Justin Wong is trying to prove something. He is the best SFIV player in the U.S. But Mike Ross is a classy guy, and respects his opponents
Correction: They've never played before in the finals.
Would you be interested in playing Mike Ross for money sometime then? It can be arranged
Yall stop hating on J. Wong! The man has skills!
I don't get it. If Daigo won against Justin, how coud Justin be the Champion?
none of you that hate on justin seem to think. he always shakes the dudes hand after the match. during the match hes not his friend, hes literally trying to beat the shit out of him. you guys need to quit taking it so damn personal.
What if he was from Canada?
@gaara1227 Uh...look at 5:04...they're friends. It's friendly trash talk.
Do I hear Gootecks yelling in the background? lmao
the video says "US national championships". This isn't evo.
que escenario tan chingón :O!!!!!!
ross and wong are buddies though. Its all in fun
Daigo was eliminated early in this tournament.

IT'S OVER 900!!!!!
First of all, they probably know each other somewhat. And it was probably just friendly trash cause in the end, it didn't stop them at the end from embracing. You guys need to simmer down

Notice Daigo didn't shit a brick when he WTFPWNED jwong.
Hahaha classic.
I definetly agree with you their
Jwong's not that much of an asshole. It's all in fun. He shook his hand and gave him a hug at the end. Lighten up people.
WTF why is Justin WOng in the finals? i just saw getting his ass whooped by Daigo on the last vid
Not at all.... he's fighting a Rufus, one of the best inside fighters in the game. E.Honda has 0 to no combo game that would get him anything more than an ex messiah kick to the face against Rufus. He did the right thing by staying back and playing defensively.

could be fucking with his mind when he does it
Dude, they're friends, he was messing with him.
Talking trash also gets into the head of the other player. If someone is yelling at you while you are doing bad, it's going to get to you and your confidence is going to go down along with your skill. I still agree with your post.
There buds guys.., chill out
props to mike for using honda
wtf was Justin up in his face for? They got some type of rivalry?
lmfao i love how justin gets in his face
Justin should be careful who he does that to. It might not end well for him if he isn't.
@@bl1ndr that doesn't matter.
it's rufus an overpowered character i always here people saying that
i heard gootecks, "let's go west coast!"
am i the only one who finds jwon hilarious
Jwong wasn't talking shit when diago stomped him. :D
@boredstudent / So that doesn't mean anything.
Good effort by Mike Ross. I'm a huge Justin Wong fan and all, but dude needs to get a haircut. : )

see mvc2
@AsgardianMight nope
ooooh now i see why bad comments for justin at 1:04 it all started
@xtstonex, Homie, did I say anything about trash talking being wrong like anywhere in my original comment? Please learn to read before you make assumptions.
When it gets to this level of play, it is along the same lines as a sport. Hence SPORTSMANSHIP is expected. But judging from your comment, education isn't so high on your to-do list.
omg im fabulous!
All we know Mike Ross could've been laughing as a joke between buddies.
justin wong is just overcompensating because everyone knows him as 'that chun li that daigo owned'
When you're one of the kings of fighting games like JWong, you can talk shit.
@studioping /watch?v=lMTDHZML8Hk&feature=channel_video_title, so u can see it by yourself, everything was done so people could get hype and shit if ur really in the fighting game community than u know whats up
Daigo beated him in the finals... again =).
i assume they're friends or Justin would have got his ass beat afterward.
Shot at a Street Fighter tournament?? I highly doubt anyone there is that hard lol
J Wong is the 'truth'
Not much even the best Hondas can do against a good Rufus.
wow Wong is a real jeark
wow mike ross is the nicest guy in the street fighter community why would you disrespect him like that.
justin got goth girls up in that shit
Idk why everyone is making a fuss about this
It's just some smack talk among friends
UH OH, UH OH!!!!
JUSTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN WONG.
OH MY GOD.
OHHHH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDD(Head explodes).
Don't provoke it outside a game.
if provocation like 1:04 is allowed... I guess smacking him in the face and finishing the game while's he's knocked out is allowed 2?:)
