Lots of great shots in here Octavian. Paris is a wonderful place to shoot street, so much to see and always lots of people in interesting attire. Hello and thank you ! I liked both to be honest. Even the harsh light at noon is nice for high contrast images. The architecture , the tall buildings and the windows play an important role in how the light falls and it's distributed on the streets. @@OctavianCarare Madrid I do NOT recommend because I don’t think it has too much potential, 😩 but September/October and March-June is a good time. LISBON has lot of potential and amazing light, and same, September/October and March to June probably is best, although I would say that any time if you get a sunny week (which is the 85% of the time). Nice to see you around Europe to get inspiration! 😉

Just stumbled over your account and immediately subscribed. Great shots and vibe!! Keep it up 👍🏻 What is the second Canon body that you carry around (5D with 24-105)? Do you often use the crop mode on your Q2? Many shots look narrower than 28mm.
Thanks mate ! Appreciate it :). The second CANON body is a R6 with a 85 mm 1.4 which I shoot my intros with (on this epsiode I used the Q2 as well for the intro). I do crop slighlty my shots if necessary but not all of them :)

La photo en 3:09, j'adore! Et celle en 3:16, Ich liebe! Et la 5e en 3:26, absolue! Elle est bonne pour une campagne anti-bruit! Et la 8e en 3:57, ouiiii, très classe! Et la 10e dans le reflet voiture, waouuuh! La 47e est rigolote comme la 44e en 13:39 , .... Donc une vidéo avec des photos qui prouvent la qualité artistique de ton oeil et esprit : bravissimo! Topside post and images, Octavian! My guess is that you will return there. A visit provides a taste, but longer stays might reveal a more balanced perspective. Terrific set-up vid w/many Paris “tropes” but well presented. Looks like many locations had other photographers working as well. Did you try a few shots of that street artist? I ask because I’m drawn to them at festival shoots - always a challenge getting a good combo of artist, subject, and drawing. Your thoughts? Sterling images. 34, smoker my fav along w/3 (diagonal arm matching shadow line). 8 good timing of guy rolling out green carpet (tighter crop in post might make it even better). 15 most challenging light trap (narrow light slit, brief time for pedestrians to cross into light). 32, we saw your intended subject enter scene - nice. Pre-39, noticed guy waiting for you to shoot before he crossed your path (polite) - do you get much of that? 25 good silhouette perspective. Photographer and model in red dress a lucky find (tell her “no, turn this way” to see how “friendly” Parisians can be😁.) Thought you might have tried for a few more of the skate-boarders. Wish you had explained more about how the Paris light differs; softer, cooler? No waffles, but creppes, maybe?😁 Cheers!
Your reject shots are much better than my best shots. Another great video. I have not been to Paris for about 10 years. Are there still plenty of pick pockets and con artists in the streets?
My first time in Paris was about 12 years ago and I was shcoked by how many pick pockets there were. I haven't seen any this time, maybe they got better at being stealth :). Still smells of piss though ☺️ . Definitely need to pay a visit but be careful with your belongings
Weirdly my first thought was: why does everybody hold their head in Paris?! :D Very cool experience, even to watch! Great shots, and some of my favourites are 8, 22, 31 and 35. There is definitely more going on in Paris than in Oslo, I must say. Why not just move to Paris, Octavian? :)

@@OctavianCarare Because to do good street photography in London, for instance, is so easy :) In Brussels is not, but you master it. So inspiring for those who lives in small/medium cities.
I like the #35 because it has a character and it tells something abou the man on the picture. The rest is okay bud this is real street close up photography as it should be. Dont give up and if I can give you an advice, try to get closer to the people you're photographing. The intimacy and being closer to the people is what makes street photography good.

There is a area in Paris called La Defense with some great architecture and beautiful lines and I see too many people simply walking in the frame or sitting on the stairs and nothing happens. I am trying (as well) to get away from this type of so called street photography :). Hope it makes sense, still having my first coffee this morning :)
A friendly tip: u need to chill a bit and don't be to critical /talk your self down that much. Ur doing fine ! :) Also I think some of your best pictures was in the "not 100% happy with" @ 18:25 awsm! @ 18:30 Great :) @ 18:35 another awsm shot @ 18:55 nice @ 19:00 another awsm shot :)

Poor images without the story you were telling in your earlier shots. No Paris, no story. There is so much dark but the lack of soul, these shots are about nothing. Your Brussels works were so much better. Good luck and inspiration!

Quoi? tu n'es pas satisfait de tes dernières photos? ..... Beh, la photo en 18:22 j'la trouve très bonne de par le contraste hors du commun des couleurs au mur avec le noir charbon du personnage! Excellent, tout simplement! Et la photo de suite après en 18:26 est tout aussi qualitative dans sa symbolique et son message social et politique! Elle est digne d'un 1er prix, Octavian! La photo en 3:09, j'adore! Et celle en 3:16, Ich liebe! Et la 5e en 3:26, absolue! Elle est bonne pour une campagne anti-bruit! Et la 8e en 3:57, ouiiii, très classe! Et la 10e dans le reflet voiture, waouuuh! La 47e est rigolote comme la 44e en 13:39 , .... Donc une vidéo avec des photos qui prouvent la qualité artistique de ton oeil et esprit : bravissimo!

Topside post and images, Octavian! My guess is that you will return there. A visit provides a taste, but longer stays might reveal a more balanced perspective. Terrific set-up vid w/many Paris “tropes” but well presented. Looks like many locations had other photographers working as well. Did you try a few shots of that street artist? I ask because I’m drawn to them at festival shoots - always a challenge getting a good combo of artist, subject, and drawing. Your thoughts?
Sterling images. 34, smoker my fav along w/3 (diagonal arm matching shadow line). 8 good timing of guy rolling out green carpet (tighter crop in post might make it even better). 15 most challenging light trap (narrow light slit, brief time for pedestrians to cross into light). 32, we saw your intended subject enter scene - nice. Pre-39, noticed guy waiting for you to shoot before he crossed your path (polite) - do you get much of that?
25 good silhouette perspective. Photographer and model in red dress a lucky find (tell her “no, turn this way” to see how “friendly” Parisians can be😁.) Thought you might have tried for a few more of the skate-boarders. Wish you had explained more about how the Paris light differs; softer, cooler? No waffles, but creppes, maybe?😁 Cheers!
Your reject shots are much better than my best shots. Another great video. I have not been to Paris for about 10 years. Are there still plenty of pick pockets and con artists in the streets?
My first time in Paris was about 12 years ago and I was shcoked by how many pick pockets there were. I haven't seen any this time, maybe they got better at being stealth :). Still smells of piss though ☺️ . Definitely need to pay a visit but be careful with your belongings
Weirdly my first thought was: why does everybody hold their head in Paris?! :D Very cool experience, even to watch! Great shots, and some of my favourites are 8, 22, 31 and 35. There is definitely more going on in Paris than in Oslo, I must say. Why not just move to Paris, Octavian? :)

@@OctavianCarare Because to do good street photography in London, for instance, is so easy :) In Brussels is not, but you master it. So inspiring for those who lives in small/medium cities.
Somehow I agree with you. It's harder to get good shots in small cities, true :)
I like the #35 because it has a character and it tells something abou the man on the picture. The rest is okay bud this is real street close up photography as it should be. Dont give up and if I can give you an advice, try to get closer to the people you're photographing. The intimacy and being closer to the people is what makes street photography good.

Great pictures 👍🏼 The smile of the red woman in the beginning was charming. But why is street photography with architecture cliché? And in what way?
Thank you Berno :). I fully agree with you regarding the smile of the redhead, wonderful. There is a area in Paris called La Defense with some great architecture and beautiful lines and I see too many people simply walking in the frame or sitting on the stairs and nothing happens. I am trying (as well) to get away from this type of so called street photography :). Hope it makes sense, still having my first coffee this morning :)
A friendly tip: u need to chill a bit and don't be to critical /talk your self down that much.

Trash and poverty is easy to shoot, indeed. It's everywhere, in small and large cities as well... That's the world we live in unfortunately
Poor images without the story you were telling in your earlier shots. No Paris, no story. There is so much dark but the lack of soul, these shots are about nothing. Your Brussels works were so much better. Good luck and inspiration!
