I spent one day shooting street photography in Paris and for once I am really happy with the shots taken . I won't lie, I felt really tired at the end of the day, around 35.000 steps and I feel like I put lots of work in this video (editing and montage) but it was really worth it. Thanks for being here !

I was on the fence about picking up a q2 and your videos have sealed the deal for me, mine comes in a few weeks and I couldn't be more stoked. I'd also just like to say MAN what an eye you have. Very glad I found your channel keep up the inspiring work.
Thanks a lot Isaac! I am glad you will own a Q2 soon :) hope you will enjoy shooting with it as I do with mine :). Thanks for the feedback as well 🤩
Enjoy.
Sacrebleu!!! You got more terrific shots in one day than some people get in a year of pounding the streets. It's as if every person in Paris knew just where to stand and how to pose. Amazing video, amazing shots.
Wow, thanks David ! You are exaggerating but I will take the compliment :). It's such an extremely rich city for street photography :).
The girl sniffing the flower while she’s walking, BANGER!
Thank you ! :)
Paris never gets old... defo getting the blues💙 Nice shots ;)
Thanks a lot 🤩 daaaa we will always have Paris ☺️

Thanks Bart ! Appreciate your feedback ! Everybody has different tastes but most of the people prefer the pictures at the end of the video, with the sun and shadows ! :)
Always good Mate!
Thanks a lot Greg !
Wonderful, especially the contra jour of the guy walking by the boarding. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Victor! Appreciate it
Paris for one day !
And yes, Octavian, the intro is fabulous again, together with the appropriate music here :-))
As usual, beautiful photos, your well-known style ! !
No. 2 is so funny :-)) No. 6, the camera, a good one, 15 is really amazing ! 22, dangerous :-)) !
No.34, beauty ( but I would take her closer :-)), no. 40 + 41 are gold !
The light in this POV works so well with you !
What's your favourite I want to know :-))
Hi there and thank you ! The light was beautiful indeed. Well I have lots of shots that are my favorites to be honest but 36 is one of my favorites and 44 as well :). Bedankt !

It was Tom :) thanks for watching the video :)
another great video mate, love it that you show it that you're so tyred after a full day streetphotography, can relate to that!
Thanks Benny ! Indeed it was a looong day and I am glad you can relate to that ! Cheers and keep up the good work :)
I really enjoyed your video presentation :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks !
It looks like there are a lot of sexy things in Paris 😉. Many many colors and a nice vibe. Beautiful shots. Too hard to choose a favorite. The food looks amazing also. And the intro... smooth like a dream. Another great episode my friend👏👏👏
Thank you Alexandru ! Well Paris it's a sexy city. The pastries and sweets in Paris are crazy good :). Thank you for watching the video :)
Photos number 12, 40 and the last one really made my day.
Thank you and glad you liked the shots !
That was funny with the tourist in background at the end. They stole the scene.
hehe true
underrated
Thanks mate :)
I have not wanted to comment for a while because those intros are so beautiful. I fear if I acknowledge them, they will disappear.
If I have time to do them, the intros are still coming, no worries about that :)
Very nice video. I'm defiantly feeling fired up but dark Denmark feels a bit beyond my creative skills. Great photos, truly inspiring....
Thank you Miles :) appreciate it. Weather is terrible for the moment in Belgium and it's dark all the time but getting back to to work pretty soon :)
Up there with the best of them. Wonderful pics as always.
Thanks a lot Ian ! :)
Superb use of (particularly warm evening) light. It's easy to forget that is a great option for street photography. Thank you for an inspiring video!
Thank you for watching John! Appreciate your kind words as well.
To take so many fantastic Photos 📷 no wonder you need such a big lunch. 😄 And no wonder you needed a rest 😄
A most enjoyable episode Octavian. Always a delight to watch. Thank you 👍😎📷👋
Hi Steve :) the lunch wasn't that big actually. I was still hungry :). Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it ! :)

No 40 is fantastic.
Hahaha I borrowed the model as it was on the streets :) thanks for watching the video Lorin :)
Great stuff. Your a lucky guy to get to go to all these fab places.
Yes I am I guess :) Thanks for watching John !
really love these photos. in particular the n°. 2-3-7 and all those in which you take advantage of long shadows and backlighting. Great!
Thanks a lot Alfonso ! Glad you like the shots ! :)
#36 is 🔥🔥🔥

@@OctavianCarare do you usually leave the Q2 on 28mm or use the crop modes?
@@erich_raw always on 28 without crop modes in camera. If I need to crop I will do it afterwards in post.
@@OctavianCarare 28 is hard work! Incredible images
Thanks mate!
It was such a beautiful walk, congrats for the photos ! The light was incredible... I was in Paris too on the 24th to shoot some video for my work. I was frustrated not to have time to shoot some street scenes. I want definitely come back for streetphotography there, it is so easy and the streets are so vibrant ! See you soon I hope...
Un grand merci Jeremy ! :) The light is incredible in Paris. See you soon in Brussels or Bucharest or Rome :) keep in touch on Whatsapp :)
Always very nice your videos, I love them. I prefer pictures 27, 38 and 39. I live in Paris and I shoot with a Q2 too, but I never got those vivid colors and renderings, bravo. Do you spend a lot of time working on your raw ?
Hi Marc ! Thank you for your thoughts. Paris is lovely for street photography. I don't spend much time because I have some self made presets and I use them to edit the pictures. The RAW files are pretty flat.
Lovely captures. Your use of light and shadow is always inspiring. I understand it’s the photographer not the camera, but as a fellow q2 shooter I do hope you continue to shoot with Q2😀
Thank you ! Appreciate it :) I will continue to shoot with the Q2, yes. I love it :)
Nice angle in #21.
Haha thanks 😎
Very nice photos. Thank you. Do you use zone or auto focus?
Thanks Mathias, only Auto focus :)
I've finally watch this video about Paris, yeah you did lot of good shots this day and especially some funny ones ! ahah. Always nice to see your own view of the city. I know you was in Paris just for a day or two and you visited most of well known places. Next time you come in the city, you should take a look on "popular district" you could love a lot. If you interested, i can give you few places or tips for your next visit :)
Great work and nice editing as awlays.
Hello et merci ! La prochaine fois je te contacte pour faire une petite balade dans les 'popular districts'. Ca sera chouette, surtout si tu connais les endroits ou on mange bien a Paris :) Merci !
Hi Octavian. Just wondering if the stills you show are cropped or uncropped pictures from the Q2? Just wondering if the images POV is 28mm or something longer. Keep up the good work!
Hi Luis ! Some of the shots are cropped, some not. The footage coming from the GoPro is wider than the 28 mm, probably 16 mm or so. Thanks for watching and for the kind words ! :)
Great video and lovely shots Octavian! It would be interesting to see a video of your editing process. I understand you have some very useful presets?
Hi Peter ! I have some custom made presets indeed. I done a video on editing my pictures and it didn't performed that well :)
This is why I look forward to your videos. You continually impress. I know you under expose, but for your silhouettes, do you spot meter as well, or set your exposure to the brightest part of the scene and then set exposure lock? I'm not very familiar with the Q2.
Thanks a lot Kent and I am glad you enjoyed the video. I use spot meter and expose for the highlights indeed. It's pretty simple and you will get used to it after couple of tries.
@@OctavianCarare thank you for responding. Love your work.
@@KentFleshman appreciate it !
太捧了👏👍!!!
Thanks
Quality post and pics, Octavian.👍 What a shame you only had one day, but you made the best of it. Fine opening footage (love the dancing shadows) to set the scene. In first outdoor selfie you were squinting from front lighting - other vid selfies were fine. 11 stripes best of bunch for that unique place; your patience paid off. (If you were less visually “honest”, in post you would have made the lady’s bag stripes vertical to match surrounding 😁.)
Chasing shadows segment w/title lead-in a plus; suggest similar segment titles in future vids. Impressive silhouettes 39 and 40. Street performers at 24 likely offered lots of compositions; my guess is that time was running out for you. 19 best of balloon series for proximity photos.
Could not tell what you were eating. Ice cream? All in all a productive day. Cheers!
Hi Paul ! Thanks for the feedback. I will probably add more titles like indeed, it gives the feeling of continuity and chapters :), will do. Regarding the street performers it was a competition and it took place in the famous La Defense district in Paris and it was my first time there. I didn't want to linger to much indeed. I was eating sort of Paris-Brest. It was delicious and nothing beats the fine pastries in Paris (France) :) . Thanks again for being here !
Great ideas through example. It would good if you could provide iso f-stop etc info on the photos. Love the silhouettes
Thanks Robert ! I don't want to put too much information one the pictures (for the moment)
great channel, can you do some portrits with the q2 please
Thanks Carlos! Check my first videos with Q2. I did 2 videos with portraits :)
I enjoyed your video and pictures of one of my favorite cities, Paris. Of particular note, was the technique you used to develop your pictures. I assume you create the extreme contrast in LR our similar program. You’ve inspired me to try it in my small seaside town Newport,OR. It was good you stopped when you did, your face looked very sunburn. I look forward to your next video. Keep up with your street photography with Q2 (I’m also a Q2 owner, so I’m prejudice😂)
Hi there ! I underexpose my shots and then edit in LR indeed. Thank you for watching the videos ! Appreciate it and enjoy your Q2 in Newport :)
Having just returned from Paris I found this video inspirational but also allows me to relive my holiday ;). Thank you. I see in a few comments on your videos you mention doing one on your Lightroom workflow. Is there one? I have spent time searching but can’t find one. Thank you so much for your generosity with your tips and teaching.
Hello Gail! I hope you got some cool shots in Paris, it’s such a rich city for street photography! I haven’t done a editing video yet. I did one with reflections but didn’t get many views, so I think it’s not that attractive. Thank you for the kind words and for watching the video.
@14:14(40), did he ask if you took his photo? Just curious....Nice vid man!. Stay safe:)
Thanks! He asked if I took a photo, not necessarily of him (more of the sunset) :)
@@OctavianCarare Thank you..That was nice of him....stay safe:)
Sorry Octavian but I couldn’t pick a favorite image this time…I liked all them all 😊 you had a great day in Paris
Ciao!
Thank you! 😃 Mauro ! I am glad you liked it and thanks for the kind words :)
Youre here after wacthing peter mckinnon to watch more of q2
Thanks 🙏
Hello Octavian, how did you take such strong contrasts of light and dark picture?
Hello! I underexposed my shots and then deepened the blacks and shadows.
Genial👍👍
Merci
Hello Octavian, I love your street photos and watch all films you present here on youtube :) do you plan to have your website only with street photo? I was looking for something and can't find out :)
Hello and thank you! Yes I do plan to build my website dedicated to street photography. What are you looking for? :)
I like how you expose for the brightest light letting the rest go very dark. How do like to do that with the Q2?
Thanks David! I underexpose, even 2-3 stops if needed. Especially when we have that harsh light
@@OctavianCarare Thank you Octavian I love your shots. And thank you for sharing. What's your insta? I'll follow if you do that...
I have to ask: what settings did you use to edit the photos? They look very film like!
Hi Ryan ! I have some custom made presets simulating film :) thanks
Great video! Do y crop your Q2 photos ?
Thanks a lot Anders. I do crop but not always. Actually I try to crop less and less and get more close to people :)
I really like your color correction, especially the absolute whites and saturated colors, which give a natural effect to the photos. Do you use presets created by yourself or do you post produce every single photo with different settings? Thank you
Ciao Marco! I have some custom made presets that I use to edit my pictures. I will probably put them to sale soon :). Thanks for watching the video!
2 had that how did you do that factor !
Thanks Ernest ! :)
On verra :)
Very nice photos! Ordered a Q2 last week and I'm excited to get it. Can I ask, is there a shutter sound on the Q2? I use an M6 and the Q2 is my first digital camera in about 9 years. One thing I never liked about digital is the poor (or lack of) shutter sound.
Thanks ! Appreciate it! There is a shutter sound if you use the mechanical shutter. With the electronic one is quiet :)
@@OctavianCarare ok thanks, good to have both options I think. And thanks for the great content, will be watching more :)
That’s great! Thanks a lot :)
Leica Q2, which I haven't filmed yet, but I think I'll use it someday. Have you filmed any videos with Leica Q2?
Hi there ! I have used the Q2 for filming some sequences and you can check my video '6 months with the Leica Q2', there is a short video 2-3 minutes with a ballet dancer. The quality is very very good :)
@@OctavianCarare Thank you. Let me check.
Which lens do you use ? I mean Range 23mm or 28mm
Hello ! It's a fixed 28mm so 28 mm
Do you have color presets that people can purchase?
Hi mate ! Not yet :)
80-90 percent of shots r classic category...... carry on...
Thanks I guess :) If classic category means good :D
