Great video, I just wish you were in the USA. I have an opportunity to pick up a IIIc (021 II) for a low price, but it is noted as having a slow/sticky shutter at low speeds. I'd be comfortable cleaning, lubricating and aligning parts as you did here, if you think that would resolve the issue. I'm not sure my skills would be up to disassembly/reassembly of the shutter mechanism and I don't have parts if one is lost or needs to be replaced.
hello chris, i have the same camera and the shutter blades doesn't open... my shutter doesn't move on the body , is still on the body...how to fix? the little gear is in the correct place
If the shutter release button can be depressed, then the shutter is cocking, but is jammed. If the shutter release cannot be pressed, the shutter isn't cocking, so either the shutter--cocking rack is damaged, or the shutter is failing to cock for some other reason. From experience I can tell you that even if the main problem is the cocking rack, the shutter doubtless needs to be serviced anyway.
Im working on a IIIc shutter right now. Having trouble figuring out what that oblong screw does to the right ,, next to the bulb lever arm. Towards the center of the lens mount barrel. When I cock the shutter (manual drive assembly ) manually without the spring to test function, rotating it, the shutter wants to immediately “fire”. Its driving me bananas. Do you have a video explaining how the shutter functions normally? I have seen the one where you explain the circular function of the manual drive assembly.
