In case u dont know this, we sing hard or not depending on the amount of shows/perfomances scheduled within a certain amount of time to recover and/or still perform.. chris could sing like in the albums anyday, but not if he had lots of shows scheduled close to each other without recovery time.
I agree Win!!! Great job. I have heard other live performances of them song this song & your right, this and him singing this song live in London square are done equally as nice.
one of best solo ever made in rock history...credit to tom for such a great solo..and thanks to chris for delivering pure emotions in this song..perfect combination
absolutely the best solo of the last 25 years. This song blew my mind the first time i heard it. Volume always goes to 11 when ever i hear it....never got to see him live....ouch
my god I had this come on in another window and I just assumed it was the studio recording of it. It wasn't until i heard the crowd faintly yell during the end of the solo that I realized it was a live version. Unreal how good of a performance this was
How could I possibly dislike this comment layne was phenomenal with such a unique an incredible voice Love hate love was such a beautiful song that’s my favorite from AIC I miss both these guys
@@mikesoprano4994 my favorite is actually bleed the freak. I love Chris’ rasp and range, but for me Layne hits the soul! Oddly enough the only one I’m not a big fan of from the grunge era was Kurt Cobaine
I completely agree and the perfect example of what you said in my opinion is love hate love such emotions and anger and sadness and hearth break and I love Kurt I just don’t think he was that talented of a vocalist compared to the line up of talent in grunge at the time it bothers me most people talk about Kurt but not Layne
This surpassed my expectations it was so good. I have to be honest, I liked Soundgarden and Audioslave, but I never fully appreciated just how good of a singer he was until he passed. Shame on me. R.I.P Chris🙏

Literally ON Broadway. How absolutely amazing , better then studio n Tom M.awesome guitar... its 2022, I cant accept that 20 yrs have passed since this performance...if I wouldve known I'd never got to see him live, I'd of walked to the city for this...RIP cc...
So I listen to a lot of different kind of music but overall this is easily in my top five all time. SUCH A GOOD SONG! Never gets old. So much passion, so much meaning and such a good live perfomance. He was on point with his voice. RIP
I rmbr watching this on TV 🥺 I rmbr, even older memories, writing soundgarden lyrics in my textbook while in class, & everyone thought I was taking down notes You're a legend, Chris
AC/DC is hard to beat for a new singer, Totally different to Bon but goes hard live still, Pink Floyd changed 3times successfully that’s a record? Foo fighters, Little river band, cold chisel swapped mossy and Barney, van halen, There’s been some shockers though Adam Lambert in queen and inxs for eg!
I ever been some nearto New York before. I would love to visit one day. I can imagine in some nearby restaurant there's an employee begging his boss to take a break so he can stand outside and enjoy this awesome concert... man, if only time travel were possible.... 2002.... just a year after 9/11. damn.
On a cobweb afternoon In a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death Reading how we'll die alone And if we're good, we'll lay to rest Anywhere we want to go In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone And on my deathbed I will pray To the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone Who will take me to heaven To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The wine was bled And there you led me on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone And on I read Until the day was gone And I sat in regret Of all the things I've done For all that I've blessed And all that I've wronged In dreams until my death I will wander on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone

He isn't on "auto-pilot", listen closer and you can hear minor flaws. This is him at his best with Audioslave. Put this side by side with the studio version and it becomes more evident.
@@timetravelingoldman6839 I think he meant his expressions, not that it was pre-recorded. He does seem a bit distant, but he could just be focusing too much on the performance since it's their live debut.
So glad i got to see him, there was a period he quit smoking, and i saw him in vancouver bc and his vocals were absolutely perfect, i knew i was witnessing something truely unique, i dont even thing there was any recording of that show besides shitty 2 minute distorted cellphone clips in a time when cellphones if they could record video it was terrible and short. RIP to a legend.
What a beutiful man and soul,im 27 yr old male but when i look at Chris i imagine Jesus Christ literally,he has that "angel face" you can tell he never meant no harm to anyone ever...but himself
2024 and still listening - Chris you're legend, a lot of your fans still miss you.
A lot? All of us will miss him forever!
Best live version of this song. Chris nailing each notes.
Yea I was thinking the same. For live this is ridiculously good. Man could you imagine these jokes now adays doing this without autotune.
It's the greatest live version of this amazing song!!

My 6 year old son listening with me this song & Numb.
I'm grateful for his music taste
This might be my favorite live of Audioslave ever.
The pain, the rage and the beauty in one single voice. God, I miss this man.
you can feel the misery in his voice, R.I.P Chris.
The vocals after the solo until the end of the song are some of the best live recorded vocals you will ever hear in your life. Rip CC
The chord changes are beautiful and compliment the vocals very well

Glad you said that. I thought it was just me.
It’s def sped up. He has one he does super slow too just him and his guitar.
sometimes bands like to speed up their songs for their live performances
Excitement from performing live maybe
Tv performance. So gotta be fast

Que voz tan Impresionante 😲
On a cobweb afternoon
In a room full of emptiness
By a freeway I confess
I was lost in the pages
Of a book full of death
Reading how we'll die alone
And if we're good, we'll lay to rest
Anywhere we want to go
In your house, I long to be
Room by room, patiently
I'll wait for you there
Like a stone
I'll wait for you there
Alone
And on my deathbed I will pray
To the gods and the angels
Like a pagan to anyone
Who will take me to heaven
To a place I recall
I was there so long ago
The sky was bruised
The wine was bled
And there you led me on
In your house, I long to be
Room by room, patiently
I'll wait for you there
Like a stone
I'll wait for you there
Alone
Alone
And on I read
Until the day was gone
And I sat in regret
Of all the things I've done
For all that I've blessed
And all that I've wronged
In dreams until my death
I will wander on
In your house, I long to be
Room by room, patiently
I'll wait for you there
Like a stone
I'll wait for you there
Alone
Alone
