- Shaun Davey introduces Rita Connolly in the National Concert Hall Dublin in September 2009 with a taste of his new creation based on Romanian folklore. Come to Sapanta, from August 12 to August 15, to catch a glimpse on Romanian & Irish powerful musical performances.

The author's musical intelligence and sensitivity to the messages found at Sapanta, as expression of the pastoral Romanian culture, created an hymn dedicated to mothers and motherhood! Rita Connolly's voice is exceptional as was in the concert as well. Congratulations for this success!
It took me a couple of minutes to realise she was singing in Roamanian. At first i thought it was as Gaeilge and I was trying to understand it... very good rendition of Romanian, I must say, go raibh maith agaibh !

@@kaluklanu I think you can easily find the CD by Tara Records in Dublin. Most of the compositions by Shaun Davey and Rita Connolly are printed there. And besides both are very famous, almost national Irish characters.

In the cemetery God speaks directly to us ... These music are dialogues sung with God, for our souls ascending Golgotha (or Calvary) ... God, please watch over our souls on the way up!

This merry cemetery was not merry at all. Some pieces are very sad, but the music fits very well with the epitaphs written on the graves... Wonderful.

Pronunciation still needs working on. (When Romanians sing in English, they do a much better job.)
Romanians should stop lamenting about how only the foreigners care. Educated Romanians, of which there are still a great many left, care more. Corruption and incompetence at various levels, though, make things difficult at times, indeed.
Chiar nu cred ca trebuie criticata, dimpotriva, a facut efortul sa invete sa cante in limba romana si trebuie felicitata si laudata. In plus, canta foarte frumos.
Era o simpla observatie.
Daca noi putem sa le vorbim limba, trebuie sa se straduiasca si ei mai mult.
