Finally a vid showing how to start using the RC-10R without unnecessary chat and a clear view of the buttons/displays. This has been REALLY USEFUL and I'm now going to buy one. Thanks a million Mr Kingman, much appreciated :)
🌟Thank you Brett! Long time BOSS lover and you always make their products shine brighter than the majority of their video product demos, including BOSS' own;-) This was one of the best examples of both your excellent video reviews, as well as typically superb guitar playing plus creativity. Here's a well-deserved virtual pat on the back brother!💕
Wow, the best demo! I’ve just got mine. I messed about a bit with it at the store. I loved its preset drum sound, and it didn’t make me sound glitchy and distant when I recorded, so I was sold. I also I have a thing for BOSS in general. Your song is fantastic.
One more little trick I learned was if you stop the pedal with double tapping on the rhythm and find the displayed track is 1 instead of 2 or visa versa and you want to get to the other track, hold rhythm down and tap the loop switch and it toggles. Volia.
Nice Brett. Intro sounds like: Dream Come True by: The Brand New Heavies. I'm torn between this-unit, and the New EHX 1440 (Midi) Looper ??? Great job brother - as always.
Hi Brett, great demo! Thanks! Could you tell me if is it hat a Bossa Nova and Samba rhythm? I'm a Bossa Nova guitar player. Thank you very much for your tip. Regards from Switzerland. Alcira
Whoa whoa whoa....I need the name and version of the editing software. The RC10R is really limited because it's programmed to try to satisfy everyone. I want to edit the USER DRUM PATTERNS. Itsna good looper but just needs tweaking of the rhythm patterns.
Check out the RC500, whenever they get around to actually shipping it. Has phantom power and XLR, and I think they fixed the syncing issue that the 10R has (had?). You couldn't record a loop first and then drop in rhythm and have it sync up, you had to set the tempo first in BPM. It was kinda weird, since the RC3 and predecessors would sync up the beats to the loop even if you added them later.
You could save the bridge to one of the presets but I think to change to that while performing you need an additional footswitch (FS-5U, FS-6 or FS-7).
I notice both patterns are 8 bars long. Is it possible to make to the two patterns / channels different durations? eg pattern 1 to last 16 bars and pattern 2 to last 12 bars? or must they be the same. Or even must they be 8 bars by design?
@@Kuzcoco I bought one but not used it for a while so I can't remember. I'll have a play with it and try and let you know if I can find this thread of comments again.
@@Kuzcoco yes it can be done. Most of the drum patterns are an 8 bar loop by default, but you can record to one and half cycles of 8 bars (12 bars in total) as long as you press the footswitch at the right moment. Then you can swap to the other channel and record to 8 bars (or similarly any number of bars by pressing a footswitch at the right moment.
Sounds great and inspiring, thanks. Question: I have my guitar effects on the amp (marshall code 25). When I connect my guitar thru the RC-10R to the code 25, my drum rythms takes the same effects as my guitar. How do I avoid that? I want a “clean” rythm sound. Thanks a lot!
You need to use a fx loop on the amp (don't think the code 25 has one tho) otherwise you can set the drums to come out of the second stereo output and plug that into a separate bass amp / drum monitor or if your really struggling into any old stereo with an aux input.
Can you keep the guitar effect in the loop after you saved it, even when the effect is not on? I have been trying to figure this out for a long time! Really appreciate an answer thank you!!!!
Do you know if you can erase a loop without it being audible? Example: you record a loop live but make a mistake and want to try again but dont want audience to hear it being played back for few seconds while it erases
My question is can I import a .wav drum track, save it, record 3 layers over it and export those individual layers to PC? Or will all layers end up as one file?
HI Brett, i have an axe fx 2 (i know the axe 3 has different routing options but generally if i use this looper as an fx block - where do you put this in your presets - right at the end or before any reverb/enhance block. Also do you have it running in stereo
Hi Gerald. If I recall correctly, I ran the Axe-FX III's outputs directly to the RC-10R and then fed the left and right outputs of the RC-10R to my PreSonus Quantum, which in turn fed Logic. You could conceivably set up a stereo FX Loop with the Axe but you'd probably want to place it at the end, just before the output block, so you don't compromise the drum sounds with cab/delay/reverb blocks.

It’s very nice to see someone create a loop and whiteness what comes out of them & in the solo. Your playing is beautiful. Thank you.
Cheers, Mike. I appreciate it.
Best video on this pedal, sir. Your musical feel is really very great. Thanks!

What a cool song. With the right vocals, it could really kick butt. Thank you for showing us. Dang you are good at what you do man.
Great demo as usual Brett. The simple and clear explanations of what you review are fantastic and very helpful.
Thank you. I really appreciate that. Cheers. 🙏🏻
Excellent demonstration.

Amazing song.
Sold! I always enjoy your demos. Always good, and informative. Thanks! Killer tune!
Great practical video thanks...just bought one of these cant wait to play with it
Great rhythm in the opening, love a link for the backing track.
Loved this demo and your tune is just the right amount of dark to light ratio. Cooool

So sweet demo . I can hear it many times. Not too much distortion on your LP and nice chorus.
For quite some time I've been thinking about getting a looper, mainly for my acoustic show. This video has reinforced that desire. Thanks, Brett.
Cheers, Marc. All the best to you.
Awesome! Would love to try running vocal loops through it
That was great. Thanks. I'm sold !
Really impressive creativity tool. Thanks, great demo.
Great job. I like your music.
Love your stuff! Cheers Brett.
Mate that was super enjoyable! Thanks and fair play to you
Great job mate - I just bought one. Thanks for helping me learn it quicker. Hi from Perth 🥳
You are having way too much fun my friend...! 😁👍
Cheers 🍻
Haha. It is a lot of fun, for sure. Thanks, James.
Muito bom!! Vc é muito criativo, parabéns pelos exemplos, me ajudou a escolher o loop que irei comprar. Obrigado
Awesome video
Nice playing from France
Amazing improvisation.
That’s a great demo! Well done, and thanks! I can only hope to play so well some day.
I'm trying to decide whether to get this one, or the new 500. As usual, great demo! Thanks!
Which one did you buy?
@@thecursedbellybutton9267 I ended up getting the NUX JTC. Lol!.
Very nice. All in 5 minutes, too. 👍🏼🤘🏻

Well spotted, Michael! I played that tune way back in the 90's. Somehow it stuck. Cheers!
When you finish, can you put those two together?
Fun and nice job!
Great video! Is there a way to set it to not automatically record when changing to track 2? Thanks!
Brillant!

How did you get that amazing bass tone?
Thank you for the video! Can you use it without the power cable (with a 9V battery) when you are on the go?
Nice!!
Is everything we listen to including the drums from the looper?
Fantastic demo Brett once again. Not sure if this or the Digitech Trio + would be the ticket. Any thoughts on the Trio+? T.
I haven't tried the Trio+, I'm sorry. Can't comment on that one.
A comparison video of the two would be great!

Just missing a XLR input for a micro. Will keep waiting for the Boss RC-30R...

Are you sending the bass effect through a PA ?
No, it's all going direct to the computer via a soundcard. I use a PreSonus Quantum soundcard and PreSonus R80 speakers as desktop monitors.
