Man I loved those riffs! So funky bluesy and catchy! Attractive style to my ears. Anyway, this pedal appears to be the absolute freaking BEST looper in creation. Players have been dying to have a multi track looper for verses and choruses, instead of just repeating the same thing, but the boss rc 300 breaks the bank and is huge! So an actual song with a simple structure can actually be built with this rc10r! Im solddd and will start saving up to be a proud owner. Awesome demo!
@@untamedgorealist So, I was going to get some kind of looper. I saw this and thought it was so cool! But then...I saw the Aeros Loop Studio which is even sicker! That was like $600 though so I was saving up for it. But then, I ended up getting and Axe Fx II XL+ (Yes even though the Axe Fx III is out, too expensive for features I dont even know how to use). And so, I'll go to my DAW, record the parts, activate the loop and just jam over it if I need to play over a repetitive melody or something. I wanted it for live stuff because I dont have a band. But now! I realize... I can record all the instrumentals into my DAW myself and just play/sing along! Like record the rhythm guitars, drums, bass and harmony vox, and then live I actually just play live lead guitar (or vice versa I'll record leads and play rhythm)along with the instrumental track and sing! So instead of a repeating loop, I can just compose an entire song, bring my laptop, plug into the FOH speakers, and just play my guitar and sing along as a 1 man band as opposed to playing a loop over and over
@@brianleechee in short youre using a backing track. Sometimes some venues are against backing tracks and they want the muscian to perform everything live by looping. Some cruise lines allow backing tracks and some dont.
@@AchintyaSingh Yeah well, I'd probably get the Aeros Loop Studio for looping cause you can do like 6 tracks and switch between sections like verse chorus etc. But yeah if I record an instrumental, and play it through the monitors and sing and play over it like a backing track, I didnt know venues didnt like that
@eechee the reason why venues don't like backing tracks is there is no limit to how much layers/tracks you can put in a backing track. And sometimes even a bad player can get away by fake playing.. Even if he messes up strumming , the other tracks would still be playing and he might get unnoticed. Talking from an audience perspective also, they'll thing where is the keyboard , bass , drums sound coming from. But most of the people now know what a looper is, thanks to instagram. So everyone loves a looping guitarist who can do everything (drums, lead, rhythm ,singing) on his own that too live in front of them. It also elevates musicianship and set you apart from normal campfire guitarist. Cruise lines prefer looping solo musicians over normal strumming ones.

Awesome new Looper/Drum combo pedal! Well thought out features. Boss hits a home run with this one! This fellow did a great job demoing the BOSS RC-10R. I want one.
This has been the best informative video tutorial on this devise that I've seen. Thanks. I would though, like to know more about adding a separate pedal.
Nice and kinda revolutionary new stuff, hats off to Boss. Moreover, beside being a nice and clean faced person, Jay knows his business really well indeed, best guy choice!
Two really cool things.... 1. - One of the preset rhythms is 5/4, you can select a different inbuilt percussion kit to this to get several 5/4 patterns. 2. - You can record a sequence of chords and then change the tempo when playing back, this only changes the speed NOT the pitch so is great for recording some complicated chord sequence and increasing your tempo when playing along.
I had a question about the intellectual properties rights of the drum loops. The user manual states that "The copyright of content in this product (the sound waveform data, style data, accompaniment patterns, phrase data, audio loops and image data) is reserved by Roland Corporation... Purchasers of this product are permitted to utilize said content (except song data such as Demo Songs) for the creating, performing, recording and distributing original musical works." So imagine that I were to record a song using the drum loops on the pedal, and it made a bunch of money, does Roland get a share? What about licensing the music for film, tv, etc.?
Hey, BOSS! Can the RC-10R functions be externally MIDI-controlled? (i.e. with the ES-8 switcher) Even paired with an external double-footswitch like the FS-6 or the FS-7, it seems I could NOT get the full potential from the RC-10R.
And regarding the external 1/4” control pedal.....? What does it control, what pedal is necessary? I just received mine and the manual is not very in depth. Quite a bit of info is omitted, I was hoping this instructional video would fill in some blanks. Perhaps a deep dive version will be posted soon.
You need to download the Parameter Guide (and more complete manual) here: www.boss.info/ca/products/rc-10r/support/ You don't need a pedal, but it can make accessing certain features easier, and also expand options for more foot-control.

Pretty new to looping and not sure whether to get the RC-5 or the RC-10r. Seems like the RC-10r does everything the the RC-5 does but has the addition of rhythm? Would be a better item in the long run?
Great Video but I have a question. Can I run the drums and bass (via an octave pedal) to one output say to a sound system mixer but then run the the guitar through the second output to a guitar amp? If so this would be perfect for me. Thanks for your help! Tony
Very nice job dude...so much so that after watching this I went and bought one today.....I have one quick question that I probably will figure out once I play with it more but Im lazy so I will see if I can get a quick answer from you...lol... So basically you press down the drum switch once and its starts playing a drum beat - then you find the beat you like and fine tune it...then you hit the switch once again and it starts playing pattern 2 of that beat you liked....now is when I get confused....hitting switch once more takes you into sync mode ( light turns blue) ...its seems like hitting the switch once does 3 different things ? pattern 1 / pattern 2 and sync mode-- how in the heck do I know in what sequence to hit the switch once? Maybe its late and Im being stupid ? LOL
How do you turn it off? Just unplug it? The owners manual doesn’t give much direction and isn’t helpful. How do I change my overdub tone without changing the playback tone? How do I get the rhythm to play only through the monitor and not both my amp and the monitor? Can I use instrument cables or do I need TRS cables?
Hi guys, after waiting since July I finally got to buy a RC-10R today. But I'm having a hard time with Rhythm Coverter software, it doesnt recognize the correct pattern in the Phrase Memory, instead it just shows the same pattern every time which is your factory default, the "Funk 8Beat" even though I have saved/written the phrase memory with a different pattern. It's very frustrating, I can't find any contact window at Boss website?? how am I supposed to get support?
TBH, this looks better. I owned both the Trio + and the SDrum ... this is a lot more intuitive in my view. Plus the routing options are superior. The MIDI IO options, the ability to edit patterns, expression jack and etc will eventually have me selling my SDrum. This is a serious piece of kit that I will have to have ... UNLESS there is a version dropping that will let me have 5 song sections (I, V, C, B and O). like the SDrum... then it will be sold immediately...LOL
Help, why is there an obvious delay at the end of the loop recorded? It just doesn't continue directly at all. This is using just the loop function. Thanks!
Please help me! I bought a Boss Katana 100 guitar amp, and I am lost because I do not have loops! My question is: Should I buy a single looping pedal or a guitar processor like the Zoom G1? Help!!!!
When using the unit as a stand alone looper, why is there a delay in playback when stopping the loop for playback ? It doesn't come back on the 'ONE'. Why is that ? Makes the looper itself virtually useless.
hello 😊 in the RC-3 you can add your own rhythm created by yourself but it is absolutely necessary to convert the file to WAV and that it is a limited time as indicated I do not remember the duration of time, so you can assign a different type of rhythm by track, a friend has created 20 to have different rhythms!😉
