The punt where you forgot to exile supreme verdict was rough but understandable. The awkward thing was right after you let a mystical dispute do nothing in your hand as your opponent dug for an answer.
When you said “necessarily necessary”, I finally realized something. You enjoy the sound of words... the way a word feels in your mouth will sometimes make you say things again just to feel that word again

Exactly - I love watching Seth because he is cheerful, has fun, and makes me laugh. I also like that he plays weird decks instead of the same thing everyone else plays.
What's the current score for Seth vs Tron? I think it would be damn hilarious to see like a compilation of Seth fighting modern Tron and include highlights like the one in this episode. Well played Seth, this episode was a blast. Here's to one of my fave mtg yt channels
I honestly don't know what our record against Tron is. We do beat it sometimes, but we also have some super quick matches where we just lose on turn three. Would be fun to go back and calculate and maybe make a highlight video.
Cutting Cavern and Blossom makes this decently budget, which is always nice. I've actually been running it like that at my LGS for around a month now and I've had great success
The surgical punt was super rough to watch, considering they came back and won the game from there. But then seeing seth battle back in game 3 and take the match made it all worth it! Seth, youre always a delight to watch!
I've been wondering if bitterblossom and Bob could work together in some sort of suicide party deck? Not sure what the party payoffs are right now though, maybe the d&d set with add something cooler than coveted prize
Honestly that match against burn was awesome, game 1 it was obvious lava dart is way too good against you, but somehow you made a very competitive game 2 and 3. Good work.
One quandary I was trying to think of for a deck like this similar build not quite the same line was pyre of heroes with faeries cause then you can pyre out say a dead oona's blackguard for say thieving sprite give that a counter from the newer blackguard swing discard 2 more cards they're in top deck mode hold up spell
Windrobber is probably a better 1 drop for this deck(over slitherblade), and effectively has unblockable due to the low number of flying creatures in modern.
the more videos I watch being played on arena, the more I cement my opinion that I prefer MTGO, easier to follow, clean battlefield, similar to real life.
Would adding green for Sultai CoCo and some other good green rogues be too much? There's some pretty sweet green rogues like Chevill (yes, like the band), CE Selkie, and even a lil bitta Yisan, the Wandering and Singing Bard. Each can be got with CoCo. Whaddaya think?
Yeah, the Burn/Blitz decks are a nightmare. All of their burn spells kill all of our creatures. I was surprised that we actually took a game off Blitz. The matchup is super bad. I could see running Force of Negation, probably in the sideobard.
Haven't watched past the deck tech, but i think switching the1 Zareth in the SB for the SB drown in the loch would be better. Want the versatility before sideboarding.
I feel like bitter blossom is a trap. I would move some number of them to the Side board and take the rest out of the deck. You have to wait until turn three to get a 1/1 with flying. You can be dead by turn 3 in modern.
Bruuuuhhh...I’m screeeeaaaamin at my phone. When you threw everything at tefari in the u/w control match...you had lethal!!! Pay full price for stinky....send em all at players face. GAME. AAAAHHHH!!!
My thinking is we want to avoid one toughness creatures as much as possible because Lava Dart is a really popular card in Modern right now, which is why I like Slither Blade. On the other hand, I'm not sure we can beat the Lava Dart decks anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter and it isn't worth trying to build around.
@@jackpabich763 well you don't want them to know their turn 2 remand is dead. It also conceals what you're playing. If you play cavern turn 1 it's likely they just serum visions and tapped land turn 2. As far as I know nothing counters a TGE there except maybe fetch into logic knot, or remand which we don't care about.
also the ingenious infiltrator with changelings is sick, you can even splash green use the high cmc of stinkdrinker and infiltrator to go neoform to cmc5 turn 3, tutoring goblin dark-dwellers recasting neoform picking up grave titan or muldrotha haha just kidding that would be silly...
Since Crimsoned was so hyped about Rogues it might have been nice if he was the one that piloted and recorded this episode. Or maybe he could have co-piloted with Seth.
I accidentally clicked through combat with a Through the Breached Emrakul because MTGO lagged on me. It would have wiped my opponent's board and left them at two. They didn't scoop and ended up winning.
If you're playing 2-player queues and calling it a league, doesn't that pretty much mean you kept playing until you got 4 wins (losses not shown) and tried to pass it off as going 4-1 in a league (80% winrate)?
Only if you're insecure and trying to play off that you're super good. Seth is probably the only person I trust that that didn't happen. He even will usually put in the articles if he played extra matches and why they weren't included and what the record for those were. He's not in it to sell packs or singles. Much Abrew is more about him building interesting themed decks and trying to make them strong, sometimes they aren't, sometimes they flood. But he shows all that.
@@PerhapsOOTMM sure you can attack me but that doesn't change anything. If a person were to cheat, it would obviously be smart to also lose occasionally to make their cheating more believable. And considering how prices of cards Seth plays skyrocket in price due to his influence, it's pretty obvious what he has to gain from this.

Completely ridiculous that he didn't even consider countering the Opts lmao
Honestly, that's also bad manner from his opponent.
Someone with more fair play would have laughed and conceded at his punt.
So much this. I get not disputing the opt but with 1 card in hand and having already drawn for turn, why not dispute the snapcaster?
Mayburns no. No one wants the throw away money
Mayburns came here to say this.
That last match against Tron warmed my heart.

"Path, path, blow cavern, wrath" are good lyrics for a song
Bitterblossom is back! Also, wouldn't Agadeem's Awakening as a one or two-of good for the deck? Helps a bit when you're flooding heavily.
Yeah, I might have to add that. It does seem good.
Might prove painful with Bitterblossom, but it's all upside apart from that

“That’s the advantage of playing a rogue deck”
the triple runner runner terminus punishing the surgical misclick was beautiful

I'm kinda upset at how surgical just resolves without telling you to actually exile the cards.. I kinda just blame the UI more than anything
As long as you don'tface lava dart decks you're fine . I think force of negation is a great card for this deck

I built something like this when I opened 3 theives guild enforcers in a pre-release pack. I use the windrobber instead of the Slither Blade.
That surgical extraction vs WU control was fucking painful
You could’ve won the second game if you prowled out the bandit and you still could have flashed out the enforcer
Deck should be called "Soaring Thoughtseize"
Pretty sweet deck! That top deck drown in the loch vs DS.... I think you shoulda grabbed street wraith instead of magmatic channeler with Zareth tho
Good old Stinky MVP here
You can play faerie macabre as a nice prowl enabling graveyard hate
Real talk, how many 1 land hands did you keep and draw the second land immediately though? At least 7 times if I recall.
Yeah, we might have gotten a bit lucky (although we do only have 20 lands, so keeping one/two landers won't be uncommon).

He only had 3 mana each time a Teferi was on the battlefield. 🤷🏻♂️ So there's no way he was casting stinkdrinker bandit precombat.
Faerie Macabre not as good as cling to dust? At least in the main?

That creature is overpowered against tribal decks, especially 1/1.

This might get me to finally dust off my Rogues standard deck from Morningtide.

Why not just board out bitterblossom vs prowess....? Like, you never want to play it anyway. Deck was sweet anyway :)
