    Loved this. I would advise to pay off debts. Even if you have to suck it up and live very minimally for a while, reduce the number of mandatory payments you have each month until its just the necessary bills. Always do more than your minimum payment on credit cards, pay those off as fast as you can as the interest is ridiculous. Once you get those down, move to your bank loans etc. Keep a couple credit cards but as you use them, put the money right back on. Save up at least 6 months salary as an emergency fund.
    The best thing I did for myself was become debt-free and I had loans and credit cards. Getting rid of my debt allowed me to save a lot more seriously. The next debt I might take on is a mortgage but that's it. If you need extra money, try your hand at free online classes in an area that interests you that can bring in income. Also, if you work a 9-5 and you enjoy it, then that's great! Not everyone can be an entrepreneur sis. Find out what you like and do it, create a plan and stick to it.. but also give yourself grace when you slip up. None of us have it all figured out.

    first of all… these braids are THE MOMENT! Renee is a whole character with her accents and shenanigans lol i’m loving all of it 😂❤️
    i love the way you all addressed the dilemma, especially mentioning the power we have in the Holy Spirit to overcome temptation. getting into community with similar goals and values is going to be essential to not staying bound to that lifestyle. a lot of times, the people and environments we expose ourselves to will continue to validate that “but why shouldnt i” voice, which we know is the enemy using our flesh to bend us towards sin. ✨self awareness✨ is going to be key in her spiritual maturity, as well as accountability. i also love how you all mentioned therapy PLUS spiritual counsel, because they aren’t necessarily the same but both are very beneficial when dealing with certain dilemmas.
    great episode sisters!

    Loved the advice on the young lady who said she's sleeping "around". I did this too and I only realized as Kourtney was speaking that I did it to prove to men that I was 'open-minded, care-free, cool". I cringe. But yeah, a famous South African proverb says, 'ukuhamba ukubona' (loosely translated: to live and grow is to understand and realize).
    Hope she gets the therapy she needs without shaming herself for enjoying s*x.
    Having lot's of s*x is healthy but has negative connotations for women. Take your power back by knowing why you are doing it, and being safe. Love B :)

    This episode felt vague and unhelpful. It would be nice to hear about any specific goals like how ur planning for retirement, homeownership, and long term saving. How to invest in ur 20s. Instead, even the anecdotes were vague and sometimes vapid…just want to give honest feedback in the event that this topic is revisited! If so, hoping for more next time.

    • @tomysisters

      Hi, thanks for your feedback, we appreciate it. It’s quite difficult giving financial advice as, mentioned in the episode, we aren’t qualified to give highly specific advice on some of the things you requested. We’re also conscious of the fact that we too, are learning as we go along, and take into account where our general demographic is at, hence our more general approach. In your articulation of feedback, your note on ‘vapidity’ in particular comes across as discourteous, considering we’ve covered the aforementioned topics in some of our earlier episodes in much more depth. Feel free to check those out. We also recommend checking out some other content creators and folks who are more qualified/ targeted towards financial well-being, such as the Humble Penny (they’re great)!
      But, note taken, and we value your input. Hope you enjoy the other episodes!

    Hey, First, I love your podcast. I am the firstborn girl currently in university. Luckily I have been able to earn some decent coins for my age, but I am finding it hard to grown and save when I am expected to help; my family expects me to contribute so much of what I earn to help my younger siblings. It feels demotivating to even pursue my bag since it feels I cant grow untill I stabilize my family. How can you grow your own wealth while still supporting your family?

    • @tomysisters
      @tomysisters  3 роки тому +1

      Hey hey, firstly we love you! We can definitely resonate and we actually have a podcast episode coming out in the next two weeks dealing with sibling relationships and specifically, first born experiences. In terms of growing wealth, we also have previous episodes (on Spotify and Apple) called 'Building Wealth'. Hope they help ❤️
