“You’re not over it, you’re carrying it” “Just because you’ve adjusted to the load, doesn’t mean you should be carrying it” THIS EPISODE😭😭😭😭 Let’s be honest glowing up is PAINFUL😭 and UNCOMFORTABLE But we thank JESUS for the growth🥺🙌🏾
Can I just say this is one of the best social commentary channels I’ve ever watched. I’ve been obsesseeeesed with you ladies’ channel from pretty much the start, and I show these videos to people and just watch as they question their own mindsets and change right in front of me. PLEASE keep doin what y’all are doing because these are the kinds of videos that really leave the lasting positive impacts on society that are needed today.
I also think men being mad/annoyed/uncomfortable about male trainers is rooted in jealousy and men trying to “steal/take what is theirs” than your woman significant other being sexual harassed, how unsafe and uncomfortable for will feel. “Babe, if he tries anything. Let me know, I’ll be there quick.” instead of “Men will be touching you?” “It makes me uncomfortable it’s a man.” Bye.
Thank you. Trainers are supposed to be professionals... a good one doesn't try to mess up their professionalism by messing with a client. Being possessive with your partner just because they'll be working with someone you view as competition is not a healthy outlook, and when it pertains to hetero relationships, it often comes from the internalized view that women are object to be owned. That being said, I can understand jealousy and a little possessive feelings if there's a REAL threat when you see odd patterns emerging... like your partner going out on lunch dates with their trainer, without clearing it with you first? Your partner talking about their trainer all the time? Your partner being gone with them longer than their allotted training time? Then that would make sense. But generally perceiving men (or whatever gender they view as romantic competition) as a threat and thinking your partner should not interact with any of them in a professional/casual friend capacity is an unhealthy level of jealousy.
To the sis in SA. Take the long view of your life with this guy. What does it look like? Are you fulfilled in the partnership? If the answer is no then it is unfair to both you and him to continue. Resentment and frustration will brew. Being a nice guy isn't enough if it isn't in the areas that matter to you. I've been there and I know! Good luck sis!
"glowing up" in the emotional or psychological term is doing shadow work. it's going to the depths of what hurts you, what patterns you formed from that hurt, and how to let go of it and change it; all the while showing yourself grace and compassion because your intent to better yourself is the bravest thing you can do for yourself. I enjoyed this episode so much, it's my favorite one so far.
The hardest part is that it is not overnight and that the process is ugly, and being that sometimes the only thing to do is push through. It’s hard being uncomfortable lol.
You're so correct, when you think you're on your way up; you're literally on way down, if not vigilant, discerning, and sit with the uncomfortable and the NO's that are not of God and His timing for you and the plan & purposes predestined for long life When we don't embraced the discomfort, uneasy, the loads, the disconnect, the mistrust, et'ceteras; we won't get to the better or the healing that is upright Allow God to exposed the cover up and asking for His mercy, forgiveness and accept his love that has always been
Listen, this “relationship” is a test of the journey that you have been on. If you have truly grown in the way that you thought you have, when you realized that your letter was being read on the show today and you heard them read it out loud, that’s when you should’ve said to yourself, “let me pause this real quick and break up with him right now!” If you haven’t done it already and you see this comment, do it today! Don’t let it get further in the relationship and you are really wrapped up in your feelings about him and you see that his behavior has gotten worse. In the beginning of the relationship you’re supposed to be on your best behavior, if this is his best you don’t want to see what’s next. Just because someone is a good person doesn’t mean they are the right person for you.
Amen to not compromising on values! That possessive, 23k-blowing-in-two-days, not-saving guy may be sweet but doesn't sound like husband material. I think sis knows he's not the one. She needs clarity and affirmation that she's not doing the most by calling out his red flags. Levelling up is an ugly process 😭😂. It really should be about the best version of you and because we're all unique, that will look different for all of us. That's why therapy is so helpful in helping to deal with the pain associated with growth. After all, a butterfly was once an ugly caterpillar but the pain he went through transforming into a butterfly made him beautiful. We're all at some stage of the caterpillar. Our journeys will be different. Rather we work on becoming people as in "am I kind?" "Generous?" "Empathetic?" Versus "how much do I make a year?" "Where do I live?" "How many cars and followers do I have?" Loved this conversation, ladies!
You guys are in my living room. You are in my house😭😭😭. I’ve never related so much to an episode. This is actually insane and amazing at the same time. God bless you guys seriously.
Having me time with self is vital as to gain spiritual insights, replenishment of the mind, heart, body, soul as to gain balance, (very important) so when giving, doing or providing acts of services I won't be depleted, others won't suck the energy from you, but boundaries and spiritual discernments are key to the Kingdom of God in wise decision Cheers to the love language to self and deepen one's relationship with the knowledge of the Word of God
This has literally become my favorite podcast. When I listen to an episode, the points stay in my head and sticks with me. These conversations are very deep and well needed.
You guys responding to that dilemma was so helpful after coming to terms with a relationship I recently ended. I kept saying these things to myself but it was nice to hear you guys say it too and validate how I feel 🤍 love you girls!
This was a whole SERMON ok? Marinating in it and awestruck by the facts you are spitting. This has to be one of my fav episodes . Thank you for reminding me to be mine first!
The way Renee imitated sisters saying "I'm a giver" 😭😭😭 I'm dying!! 😂😂 It's soo true though. Wow, so many gems dropped on this podcast. 1st time listener here and I'm so glad Lydia Dinga mentioned yall in her vlog. Keep shining Queens 👑
@To My Sisters Courtney & Renee, Discussion Topic : SISTERHOOD - why are BW not on the same page as compared to other female communities (ie; white, Asian, etc), like regardless or class, status why is it that when you boil things down, the other communities seem to be in better accordance than BW. (Reference: Chrissy, Cynthia G n a bunch of other “feminine” Black YTs even one of the biggest gossip channels Empressive ) have made comments that black women not being on the same page. Another example Black women Enjoying luxury Vs. Black woman against capitalism. I’d love to hear from you too about this cause a lot of other channels have not made such significant shift mentally as well as intellectually that I applaud and appreciate you two sooo much for this profound Sisterhood 💜🫂
Aaaaw I didn't know there are videos as well!! I have always listened in the apple podcast! Y'all are so beautiful wow! Listener from Tanzania,East Africa🇹🇿
I'm a very visual person so I really appreciate the analogies, I can visualise everything your saying lool!! You both are sharing soo much wisdom and some of what you've touched on links to the sermon I heard at church last week...
Friendzone that guy he might be a good guy but he's not on your level. Love this ❣❣ I recently shared in one of my videos glowing up is external (your appearance) and leveling up is internal (your mindset). I love making the distinction because they require different levels of self-work. Awesome advice, ladies ❤❤
Love all your videos but this whole podcast had me stopping in SHOCK , at how much facts you both were spitting things that I’ve been thinking but hearing it from two wiser woman sounds even mader, love it
I don't think Ive ever heard self-help from this angle, I related so much to the description of having times when youre sad with your character - it can feel very lonely. Thank you for sharing truth and gems around this, feeling refreshed!
Love al the points you ladies made. It’s so amazing and funny how God works. I literally embraced my own self love journey a day after you lovely ladies posted your video. I mean how is that you ladies are seemingly reading my mind and emotions : it’s just THE LORD AT WORK! 😭 Keep up the good work for us, your sisters from other mother. 💕
For me the struggle I have with my glow up is stay consistent and discipline and not looking to failed past chapters when moving forward and also setting boundaries not just with myself but others and really giving myself love and cultivating my relationship that I have with myself. Such a powerful episode. It’s so true change and levelling is a hard brutal experience but is definitely worth it.
I've probably watched this about 3 times already because...wows. When I say I related HEAVILY with our good sis's dilemma, I FELT that with my whole chest. I was in a similar predicament and the weight of the guilt and regret I felt from breaking my ex's heart and seeing the pure savagery he managed to let out after it all was TOO much for me to handle. Or at least I thought. It's been about 2 years and I'm just now starting to accept the situation, forgive myself, and learn about who I am after all that mess. Glowing up is truly painful but necessary. So this episode couldn't have come at a more better time.
I just listened to this episode on Apple podcast but I absolutely had to come on YT just to say wowwww y’all really dragged me and had me rolling on the floor in the same breath! You shared soo much wisdom, wow. We love to see the wisdom of the Lord upon the sisters!! Missed y’all and love love love the podcast!!! Blessings my sisters💖
I'm glad I listened to this at midnight cos I think it sank so deep in esp for this season I'm in. Honestly the glow up is work but def worth it. I realized I'm one of the givers haha but I need to dedicate more time with and for myself. Love the analogies you gave as well. Thank you for this honestly 💕💕
I love this podcast!! I definitely have seen this so many times I feel like we live in a society where people are taught to be selfless and put other people's need before their own to the point where people literally allow themselves to suffer and go without. You should always take care of yourself nothing should come before you.
First of all, the title took me out cause I’m deff on the path of glowing up, but I’ve been mad ugly & life’s been real depressing. 🤣 But this is what my glow up looks like. & one day I’ll look back & appreciate the journey.
Okayyyyy I’m a first time listener and I just want to say the potency of this content. Wow. I had to take a break just to let things sink in. Wow. You guys hit the nail on the head repeatedly and made several good points. Yes. Thank you and yes. New subscriber.
This really Hurst me in a good way, this insight was needed and I thank God for these two blessings ✨❤️ because we need that unfiltered truth in order to grow and glow
All the way from South Africa, where my Mzansi people at? 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 I'm a first time listener and i must say I love y'all, a new subbie.... Here's to listening more of what you guys have to say. The Sister who send her question, you know what to do, he is not ready to comment yet or work on himself, you did that, you don't want someone to send you back steps that why you need to break up with him.
