    Can't beat that price. My DIY sub box took me 8 hours of labor so that is worth $300 at least never mind the 2 Parts Express 10" subwoofer drivers (installed back to back). The MDF, plate amp and paint I had laying around.

      I cheated on that side. I started with a JBL 550P for $130 refurb. I then ordered a CSS SDX10 driver and swapped that in. The amp isn’t powerful enough but the enclosure size and quality is damn good for the $130 price. Saved myself multiple hours of building. I just need a 500-800W amp to power it properly.
      But I really want to pick up one of these 10E’s now to compare and I all but guarantee that I’ll keep the 10E instead of the CSS modified JBL for my living room theater setup. I think a ported sub would be the better choice. It will have more extension for movies and I don’t need super tight control for movies either. That’s why the CSS/JBL will go to my dedicated 2-ch setup.
      I also have two more of the 550P’s that quite frankly disappoint me now that I upgraded one. I’m not about to spend another $650 on two more drivers so I’ll have to try to unload them or something. Or maybe move them to the garage…I don’t know. They should do fine out there for music.

      @@Mike.Macmyazka Very nice. You must have some crazy loud mids and tweeters to need an 800 watt sub. The amp for my dual driver sub is around 150 watts and the gain is less than 50% when dialed in to my Triad MTMs.

    I contacted RSL about pairing my old front port 10s with the rear port 10e and this is the response I got.. "You shouldn't have any problem pairing the original 10S with the 10E. It's true that the ports will be on different sides of the enclosure, but it's the output from the listening area that's most important. As long as you take a few minutes to find the right location and dial in the phase, the 10E should be very easy to add to the setup. Over the past few years we've had quite a few people pair 10S MKIIs (with rear port) and 10Es with their original 10S’s. These work together very well even though the port has changed location."

    I currently run two 10s subs stacked in one corner due to odd room dimensions. It's directed corner to corner to capture the longest dimension of the room and help with large bass waves. When you stack two in one corner you achieve up to a 6 db gain. When I first hooked them up I was stunned at the output. Literally everything in that room was rattling and buzzing until I treated those issues. Still, I can only turn them up to the 9 or 10 o'clock position or they overpower the main speakers. Mind you, I'm running big towers with 10" drivers.
    Lately I've considered upgrading to two rhythmic L12's at $1,280 or even two F12's at $2,380.
    You now present me with a third option: Fill all four corners with stacked 10e's for $2,400 (8 subs!) or two corners for $1,200 (4 subs!).
    Do you have any thoughts on this? Thank you.

I was kinda missing the lower price point, but they made up for it and then some. My first rsl product may be a freaking rsl shirt if they got em! Here watching at 44 min into it being posted. This subwoofer is actually kinda funny because it's technically competitive on paper with a lot of subs that actually just have fake specs or hilariously misrepresenting/misleading specs lol. Is two better than one? Certainly but there is also an argument for one SB1000Pro. Recently I was integrating an SB1000Pro I own into my 2ch system and while it is only one subwoofer with all its room modes, the SVS App was actually very, very handy. To do the integration, I performed REW measurements and then changed subwoofer and or pre-amp settings (basic tone controls). Because of the app, I was able to do dozens measurements while tweaking different aspects, phase in increments of 1 deg from 0-180, three sets of PEQ where each can be centered on a specific frequency adjustable in 1 hz increments and tunable from -10 to +6db and adjustable Q (slope), this is in addition to the basic controls such as volume and crossover AND adjustable crossover slope. So while two is better than one, there is a good argument where one in this case the SVS with built-in DSP would be compelling. With two RSL, and basic controls, I’d probably have a much tougher time with the integration without getting into room correction or external DSP.

    Hey…I know this is an older video. But, just got my 10E in today. Running off of a musical fidelity A1 and q acoustic 3030i’s. Holy shit!
    I’ve been using q acoustics 3070 for music. They were on sale for $219 and I figured no big deal if they suck, I could give them to my yard guys. But, I found the fast response of the dual 6.5 woofers were really good bass to my ears. I still use them to augment my Lintons on another system.
    I use a klipsch 12 for my small movie room. It’s great for movies.
    my point, the 10E seems quick for music too, but, with the ability to go lower-transitions are better. I’m going to use RSL on everything after my brief exposure to the 10E. Also, I was one I the first to get their small amp. I’m not a class d fan but this one is the exception. Gave it to my son-he lives in the dorms at Barksdale afb. The low-pass filter is incredible. RSL has a military discount, so my 10E was like $269.
    Now I’m thinking of a whole new RSL system for movies. Like Toyota, just buy it, knowing the quality and customer service is excellent.

      yeah I saw that guys review, I'm a very anti-measurements person for this very reason. I've owned both and they are absolutely worlds apart in real world use. Measurements may be useful to the engineer that is building something but for the listener I find it mostly useless unless you're using it to intigrate a multi channel theater which is another story because time aligning all those drivers is very difficult by ear. Measurements will show you a Toyota Camry & and a BMW 3 Series both can drive 65mph without any issues but it tells you nothing about the actual driving experience ya know what I mean? I'd take a single 10E over a pair of 550p all day long. This is what I think is gonna happen, you're gonna be a little apprehensive but you'll think about what I said, you'll pull the trigger at some point, it'll arrive, and you'll have that holy Sh moment and wonder what the hell that other guy was talking about. The 550p is great at $200 for sure, but the 10E extends lower and has much cleaner output overall. Some people are absolutely deaf with respect to bass quality, something the 550p lacks. Anyway, hope that helps.

On paper it appears the 550p, 300w RMS goes down to 27hz (vs 26hz for the 10E) but not sure how accurate that is being that you said there's a big difference between the two. Hey Rick, it's a lateral move in some ways but the 10E should have a little more oomph in it and sound a little more forceful down low. The SB1000 Pro is my favorite SVS sub but it starts to lose some of its strength when pushed too hard in the lowest frequencies and that's where you'll notice the 10E keeps its composure. It's not so much that the 10E is better it's more the inherent difference of their designs, vented subs like playing low so I think that's a good idea! • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  8 місяців тому +3

      sooo that one is a bit of a marketing gimmick, heres why: they quote the extension as going down to 30hz but that's at minus 10dB! No other subwoofer manufacturer uses -10dB as a reference because it's so exaggerated, if the 10E extension was rated at -10dB it's extension would probably be 16hz!! But that's a BS exaggerated spec so RSL rates it properly at -3dB and it's still lower than the SW15. The reality is the SW15 cannot extend reliably below 40hz because it has a high port tuning frequency. That's a very poor design for music and even worse for theater, it'll have a strong 40-60hz region and that's about it. It's essentially a narrowband one note wonder. But I will admit that kind of tuning is well suited to playing very loud so if you need a big party sub the SW15 will get the job done, I just wouldn't use it for anything besides parties or small DJ setup where sound quality is not a factor.

    • @theoallen100
      @theoallen100 6 місяців тому

      @@NemoPropaganda Thanks for the reply. I want a subwoofer that is musical, accurate, has clean bass notes. This is the main tv in the home for watching sports, shows & few movies from netflix etc when we dont want to climb stairs to watch in home theater. Find myself listening to music on this system more often now though. Having the ability to place 2nd sub anywhere in the room is a bonus so wireless ability is good although it may not be completely necessary. I currently have 1 10s mkii and was going to add another OR maybe go rel route if there was justification for doing so.

      @@theoallen100 generally if someone is happy with the sub they have and they want more adding a second matching sub is what I recommend. You certainly can ditch what you have an go in another direction but I'd only recommend that if you were unhappy with your current subs sound signature or aspects of its performance. The REL T9X and RSL Speedwoofer simply don't belong in the same conversation. If you have the speedwoofer and you're looking for an upgrade the path would be to go duals or if you want different subs the next step up would be something like a Rythmik LV12M or if you want to keep things small the XTZ 10.17 Edge is also fantastic.

      @@NemoPropaganda thanks for your honest input and guidance! (Huge performance car guy as well bro!) So after thinking about this more, and reviewing specs, I'm now wondering if the S510 should be on my radar as a possible single sub solution? (Would prefer single vs. duals to conserve floor space) The Rythmik's size is the only issue for me since it's in my living room and I just ordered the SF Lumina II 3.1 system after hearing those. Thoughts on if the S510 is too large or too much?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  6 місяців тому +1

      @@theoallen100 hmmm, the RSL Speedwoofer 10s is a vented 10" and can play very loud for how small it is, the REL S510 is an absolutely outstanding subwoofer but it is a sealed 10", I can't be sure it will be enough for you or not. How much bass is enough is a very difficult question to answer because everyones room and taste for bass are different. It's like how spicy is spicy enough, everyone will feel differently.

      Yes! However the EMIT have A LOT of bass so you might need to plug their ports to get the best subwoofer integration.

    Hey Buddy going to order 12s now can I get it sealed ? If not I will buy anyways or do you think 2x 10e would nw nest on a room 14ft x22ft and 17 panels 8 diffusers ' ceiling treatment as well ?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  5 місяців тому +1

      no, you should not seal the 12s, plugging the vent on a large vented sub will result in a sealed sub with a giant box and a high Q so it will be very underdamped, generally sounding sloppy and in a worse case scenario a reduction of power handeling that could cause damage. Some drivers can take abuse all day long in a vented enclosure, you put that smae driver in a sealed enclosure and it can fry with the same power or less. I'm not famliar enough wtih the RSL 12" driver to know how it would perform in a sealed enclousre but I know 100% there is not a 12" driver in the world that would perform well in a 4+ cuft enclosure :). Anywho, as far as dual 10E or dual 12s that's a tough call, there is a massive size & performance difference between the two. A pair of 12s will recreate reference theater in most room sizes. The 12s performs more like a compact vented 15" in terms of scale & output. If you want the big daddys def go for the 12s. If you don't want such behemoths in your room then the 10E are without a doubt the best subwoofer you can get at its price and easily rival some brands subwoofers up to $1000. Ultimately this just comes down to how much bass you want which is like how much sugar should you put in your sweat tea, everyones gonna have a difference answer since it's so personal :). Hope that helps though.

      @NemoPropaganda ohh I was wondering if they build a sealed enclosure I may go with 1 12s for now small room 14ftx22ft I do like the high level inputs on 12s for my vintage intgrated Amps ' But me on the bench because 10e doesn't have high level input but 2 of them may have better balance in room than 1 12s ? And I don't have alot room ' I am more in to speed n upper bass punch than how low the sub can go'

    300$ for this is really pushing it. You couldn't even DIY a similar speced sub at that price point as a decent 300Watt plate amp will set you back 150$ alone. This is a crazy good deal. I don't actually know how RSL does that.

    Absolutely incredible for the price! And yah the peak numbers marketing is terrible. Even if a lightning strikes your subwoofer it'll probably never hit those peak numbers. That's why the subwoofers with 2000-3000 watt peak numbers still have standard 120 volt setups typically.
