    You are right that multi-part lines are fine. When I was looking up some information for my Chevy Trailblazer I noticed that replacement transmission cooler lines for it were two pieces lines from the trans to the cooler. I did not need to replace my lines, because I am Southern California, but many people people in those areas where they salt the roads in the winter do have to replace rusted out lines.

      I used to live up north and had a rear axle brake line blow out due to salt/rust. Thankfully I had just pulled out of the driveway and wasn’t moving at any real speed

    Great video, very informative and well thought out.
    My only request would be to balance that volume level on the intro and outro. They're significantly louder than the rest of the audio throughout the video.

    IICR, aluminum and stainless steel like to react with each other and cause corrosion. Your SS clamps and bare aluminum tubing may corrode if the aluminum isn’t isolated from the clamp.

      @intheshoptv  5 місяців тому

      That’s very true! And while its usually not an issue if the surface area of the aluminum is much larger than the stainless, my plan is to use more of the same rubber weatherstripping that I used behind the aluminum tubing… I just didn’t have enough on hand at the time.

      Cool, I like watching your vids, pretty professional looking! My truck is a '56, I'm not bagging it, but put the triangulated 4 link in. Now working on bed panels body work, I need a place to put the front end when I'm taking it apart! Limited wpace

    How many times have you flared a line and either put the nut on backwards or just simply forgot it?

    • @intheshoptv
      @intheshoptv  5 місяців тому +1

      STILL forget them all the time! There’s no greater disappointment in the shop lol.

    Hello... I want to ask question pls... I have 1956 chevy 3200 truck and I want to keep my original fuel tunnel where it is... but also install new style fuel tank in the back is possible to keep the the fill tunnel and use new tank as well?

    • @intheshoptv
      @intheshoptv  2 місяці тому +1

      It will be challenging because of gravity. Your fill hose would have to exit the cab higher than the tank, then maintain 1/4” per foot minimum of downward slope, the hose would be visible in the bed, all the way back. What people do is keep the fill cap where it is as a dummy, (just for cosmetics), but fill elsewhere. You could fill behind the license plate if you don’t want it visible
