No crazy fake before and after stuff. Just steady, solid progress 👍🏼💪
You forgot the reverse before and after, where a ripped guy gets flabby and they swop the pictures around 😉
@@Rambling_Bob I’ve been that guy 😂 for real 😁
Hi Mark, why don't you enter a CrossFit event? (age group) Given your foundation of fitness thus far.
@@alexmonroe4706 The exercises just don't suit me. I'm doing Deka Fit in Oct - that's close
Good video - have you got the links to the V02 Max test / Body scanner company that you used please?
Hi Mark, I just wanted to share my little story with you, such as it is.
41 year old male. 2nd of January 2021, I had let my weight slip up to 17 stone (I'm 6'1") so I decided I'd start back in the gym. 15th of January 2021, on my way to work on a freezing morning, went to turn my steering wheel at a bend I had navigated 100's of times before - nothing happens. Car keeps going forwards and slams headlong into a Mini coming the opposite way. Fractured my spine (L5 burst fracture), internal bleeding on the stomach and bowels and a nasty concussion.
Spend a couple of weeks in hospital and several months in recovery afterwards. My weight crashed to 11 stone due to my stomach issues before it finally stabilised. By this point though I had started to eat like crazy to try and combat the loss.
May 2022. My weight ballooned once again to just over 17 stone so I decided to try and get back into some fitness. I was scared as heck up to this point to do it as I thought my back would simply give out and I'd find I just couldn't cut it anymore. I was pleasantly surprised though to find that not only was that not the case, but the gym was just what I needed. I took it easy at first. I almost exclusively used the cross trainer as it seemed to be lower impact. The weight started to come off again and my back was strengthened better than I could have ever hoped.
About a month later I stepped onto a treadmill for the first time. Didn't really know what to expect but I just started going. Did the set programs the treadmill offered. Mostly HIIT stuff. My goal was to see if I could get anywhere near 30 minutes for my 5K. First time I tried it I failed miserably after less than 10 minutes. Kept grafting though. The second time I tried it I hit the 30 minutes.
Now as of August 2022 I've lost exactly 3 stone and I just got a 27:47 which for me a few months ago seemed close to impossible. I feel great. In fact this is the best I've felt in years, even before the accident.
This channel has really really helped in terms of motivation. Your down to earth 'better than average' motto is something I have taken as my own and keeps me driven, and I can't thank you enough for that. My goal now is getting to sub 25 minutes for my 5K, then after that who knows, I may focus more on resistance training.
Once again thank you.
Well done, amazing effort! 👍
I get so many of these incredible stories. Inspiring. Makes my “I was just fat” sob story look pretty lame 😂. Your park run time is already fast than the average person could do it. Just go to any city centre and look at Joe bloggs……..he isn’t even going to a run, let alone going sub 30
@@MarkLewisfitness exactly this. if your sole aim is to improve your fitness and get healthy, FINISHING a park run - being able to run, jog, shuffle, fast walk - is an achievement, and something the majority of people out there probably can't do...
Thanks to everyone who has responded positively to my little tale. You guys are awesome.
Great achievement Paul and well done on everything you achieved. Keep going, keep improving and keep smashing it. 🙌🏻👊🏻
"So I should take the credit for all of the youtube thing then"... That line had me in stitches 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gotta love her sass!
To be fair……I quit about 10 times and she refused to let me.
Agreed.... that was so so funny. 😁
The way he ended the discussion quick was what had me in stitches 😂
I just have to give Jenna a massive shout out for being open to putting all of this in the public domain! I wouldn't have been able to let the internet in, if it were me, so she is inspiring and helping others in more ways than one!!
When I was not overweight with a reletively good physique in my 20s I tried running and was left breathless and gave up whilst the obese people I was running with weren't out of breath and ran the distance. I learnt a lesson that fatness or lack of doesn't equate to fitness and not to judge a book.
Jen rocks, just wanted her to know that. Mainly for gamely agreeing to be your experiment and our entertainment! Jen you rock!
Jen, blink 3 times if you're being trained against your will 😄
Ha ha! I was thinking that too!!
Commented on one of your other recent videos, but just want to echo again that this is really motivating and inspiring me. I was 250lbs after finishing cancer treatment, and having both my hips replaced. I've had some setbacks with binge eating disorder, but am now 216lbs. Since watching your videos I have decided to do a Hyrox (Surgery depending), start a UA-cam channel, and totally change my approach to fitness. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration.
Great video - well done Jen. I really liked your discussion about newbie gains. I'm 47, and trying to get back into running (well it's more shuffling at the moment). I've just cracked the highly impressive 40 min for 5K, and dropped a few kg (i'm a mere 125kg, 186cm now). Bit disheartening, but thinking about the % gains makes things feel better. Love your vids, have binged a fair few.
Stick with it Chris….I started slow jogging 11-29-2021. My first 5k was a blazing 54:23. Last Saturday I ran a 5k race at 43:34.
I’m a 66 year old male ,5’10” 172 pounds. Last time I ran was H.S. football practice 1974. I’ve lost 25 pounds,BP has dropped to normal with no medication.
This channel has been a great inspiration for me to get out and exercise
Hang in there it will get better. 👍
@@jacklandismcgowan1413 Thanks Jack! it's great inspiration for me too, and funny too.
I’ve run those times and been that weight. Just keep plodding 💪
keep going mate!
@@LKeet6 thanks!
Wow, Jen has made impressive progress in only 3 months! Very inspiring.
Jen has shown that when you train and tone up you look slimmer and younger, like people who lift parts of their face with fingers to show what a face lift can do to take years off, Jen has done a full top to toe transform and it doesn't have to cost the earth, well done, keep it up. 👍👍
Big big respect to Jen.
And respect to Mark for managing to do this without totally putting Jen off with your boundless enthusiasm.
Great to see that’s she’s doing so well but remember if it ain’t fun most people stop doing it, my mrs loves cycling but is not very keen on how I do it cos I love testing myself, she instead does it for fun and still loves it so I keep at her speed when we go out together.
On my own I go into my mode, Great vids 👏
100%. Gotta have fun or it ends in tears
And this is where I like having a tandem!
@@MarkLewisfitness Loved the statement on park runs - the people walking running it against their best time and the people walking it at the back are both completely valid - and they are both doing far better than those who do nothing!
Have come across your channel seemingly at the right moment. You have inspired me, 108kg 178cm fat slow old, to become a runner. 33:49 - 5k the other day, almost died, 1h 30 - 13k today, loved it. Times are awful but feels like the start of something exciting. Thank you. And go well Jen!
Well done mate!
I guarantee you’ll be sub 30 before you know it. You have so many huge gains to rattle through. Fun times!!!
@@MarkLewisfitness looking forward to it. Just sorted my first parkrun for Saturday and got my ticket to compete at HYROX Manchester. Just got very real!
@@mrwilliams5006 being able to run non-stop for 5K is great. 13K certainly is! Keep doing that, and your times will drop fast!
small tip, that took me a few months to realise, do NOT do hard runs every time you go for a run. Buying a watch and going for PBs all the time is a very easy trap to fall into.
I did research on it, read a few articles, and the advice is "more miles, run at an easy pace, is the way to go."
Dude I’m at like 90kg, similar height and my best was around 47 mins for 5k. (Continuous/no walking)
I’m pretty jealous.
Really interesting and great to see Jenna's progress. Also she is a delightful lady and whilst blessed with good genetics, she's an inspiration to others. Keep up the progress.
for sure Jen is going to become fitter than you :D GO TEAM JEN!!!!!
Good, then I can retire and she can do this nonsense 😂😂
Great video. And I love how you kinda 'soften' up your presenting style when the two of you are side by side.
Excellent as always, just watched it on the big tv with my wife; she’s a few months into her journey too - love the content, congratulations to Jen for your channel 😉
I was made to be watched on a big screen 😁
@@MarkLewisfitness for sure. I’ve been using your channel for inspiration since January. 55 years old, dropped 13kg and gone from a 33m 5k to 21:56 - keep doing what you’re both doing, it changes lives 👍
Love the channel, well done to you both, the improved posture makes Jen looks taller in the after picture too, great stuff, well done again Jen 💪🏻

Mark you are very motivational and the message you give comes across in very plain English. I’m 68 in two months. I shall be running the big half next month. I ran the Richmond half last year in 2hours 3mins. I’m not expecting any improvement to that time but I shall run from start to finish and enjoy it. Ps I worked in an office environment for over 40 years and only took up exercise 6 years ago then i joined our local coastal rowing club and decided to join a gym to build up stamina and strength. Now I compete in park runs, having done 159, cycle locally and race against other coastal rowing clubs each winter. The message is you are never too old to try to get fit. 👍
Good on you, Mercedes! You are an inspiration.
(and by the way, the other message you delivered here is that you are never too old to STAY fit, either!)
Damn that's awesome, girl!!!
her base line is actually really high ! i've been training for a while and i'm not even at her starting weights :') how old is she? she looks 25
MASSIVE shout out to Jen for making this youtube channel what it is :).
I have a hard time believing that Jen GAINED weight. She looks MUCH leaner than her before photo! She must be adding some quality muscle while burning body fat. Great job, Jen!
Trust me 2kg. She wasn’t happy till I pointed out the photos. Upper leg an butt especially LOOK 5kg less!!! Incredible what some weight/muscle in the right spot can do.
Muscle takes up less space than fat for the same weight, which is very cool, and why just weight doesn't really matter a whole lot. :)
@@MarkLewisfitness definitely noticed the butt and thigh improvement. Pretty cool.
@@celticlass8573 and muscle weighs more than fat so its often something people struggle getting their mind past when the scale numbers go up and yet they are stronger and leaner than before....
@@user-jd1bk6sy1m By volume, yes it does. Unfortunately many people just focus on the number on the scale, which as you say is a very hard thing to overcome.
Love this series! Inspiring! I related in the "it's in the head" I'm a 50yo, have been running for about 4/5yrs. Started after a split from my ex wife. Love every minute but my weight goes up and down. Have 20-25kgs to lose to run my favourite trail series in Apr23. But "my head" keeps getting in the way of getting into training and weight loss. You have inspired me to focus. Thanks for these videos. Keep going, you help more than you know 👍💪
Great stuff, Jen! Hard work paying off is always a delight. You look amazing, although you looked pretty damned good before! Congrats to both of you for doing all this together. I hope it brings you both loads of satisfaction and joy!
Thanks rob
Mark could you do a “beginners supplement” guide. Love the videos and trust your content. Really hard to know the difference between protein powders etc for us non experts. Loving the updates as always
Completely agree. There’s so many snake charmer type claims. @marklewis It’d be good to understand how you started and how you focused on what you needed. 👍
There is nothing like a supplement for a beginner. Just improve your diet. And put 1g of salt in your water when sweating.
Jen blink twice if you are in danger.
strong to the interview ending! really made me laugh. Late 30's started at 250lbs 6ft I'm at the start of my journey and loving your content and can genuinely use the word inspired! Eight weeks ago this all started with being barefoot shoe curious to my sporty wife gifting me a garmin at Christmas. keep it up!
The secret formula in this success, is that she is not doing it alone.
"you're welcome"...funny, yes, but I bet you slept on the couch that night. Jen is a nice person, be careful not to bullocks your relationship up because of youtube fame. excellent video, keep up the good work and in case you haven't been told in a while, you do inspire people!
I appreciate this from the husbands perspective! I’ve recently begun my journey 2 years postpartum (my husband is super fit) and notices a difference. I’m always curious about the “fit couple”.
I think it is important to note that girls who start out in the gym with a higher percentage of body fat than Jen are more likely to lose weight/ size than put it on. I am Jen’s height but at the opposite end of the bmi /muscle spectrum , and I build muscle quickly, but I dropped weight and size despite getting stronger. I will never be sun 60 kgs…, in fact 60 would be a dream weight for me , but I can still punch out a very good 5km even though I spend most of my time on the bike now.
Feeling strong is empowering!!!
Also Jen clearly had a fast metabolism so her ability to sustain cheat meals should probably not be considered normal!!!
Great video. Love seeing gym / strong / sporty girls!!!
Trying to get my wife into fitness has been a failing challenge. Turns out that could be down to my approach. Great advice, great improvements well done both!
Absolutely smashing it Jen! Love to see it. You can see that glisten in the eye that people get when they’ve just found something that makes them feel good. Keep up the good work and keep smashing your goals.
I bet Jen just wants a quiet life by the pool and now she has to do all this exercise 🤣
It's great how proud you are of her!
Excellent content as always. Glad Jen is enjoying the results so far! Could have been an interesting followup if not
Really impressed, we see a lot of our soldiers improving but then getting disappointed when they hit a barrier they feel like they cant crack, little improvements regularly and then suddenly they are through it. Well done Jen and great channel Mark
Galifianakis hosting Mark would be hilarious.
Zach: So your primary slogan is to be a little bit "above average", right?
Mark: Yes.
-Zach staring at a 6' ripped monstrosity-
Her facial twitch at the end when you said heavier was priceless
Great vid, Mark. Happy to see Jen is getting stronger and is enjoying the journey. Love the gentle, mirthful jabs and mother in law ...😉
From South Africa - I am very pleased 😃- well done 👏 you two 😊
Grit and determination...key words..with 3 weeks of training my husband runs a 5k faster than me..😑 he watches your videos ,and upgraded strava 🤣🤣
Excited for you guys👍👍

It will be a fight to the bitter end

loving the 'Next Jen' content.. really good to see the process and progress is always a win 🤟
Beautiful couple, mainly because they are striving to be better together. Also, no crazy changes but realistic so that women don't get dissapointed and give up. It's all about the process and consistency. Awesome.
She's a natural born athlete! If she sticks with it she'll be a real threat in her age group
I recently signed up to Hyrox Manchester in January after being introduced to the event via your videos.
Say hi!
Will do!
Could I ask if there a particular training program you follow for Hyrox?
Hey Mark, new sub here, loving your content and great outlook on health and fitness (and your jokes- makes a nice change to find some dry British humour on a fitness channel). I was actually considering entering the Manchester Hyrox myself after watching some of your videos, are you entering the mens pro category or just the normal mens category?
Pro for Manchester 🤞
I'm pretty confident that your fitness level is higher than 'above average'! Mine was above average in my 20s and I wasn't anywhere near that toned. My fat percentage was down to 20%, the lowest I ever got it, but, I didn't look anything like Jenna because my body composition is unmistakably different. I didn't enjoy lifting weights in the gym and wish I could have been introduced to more natural ways of using resistance, if that makes sense.
Any tips how to avoid knee issues for us runners that are still more on the fat side? 😁 After losing 30kg with careful dieting and exercise, just as my running stats started improving, my knee started acting up and now I'm stopped in my tracks scared of permanent injuries. 🙄
Still interested in Mark's advice, but I have a suggestion: shift to something low-impact but cardio-intensive. Bicycling is the one everyone thinks of first, but my difficulty with a bike is that it's so dang efficient... before I know it, I'm 20 miles from home, feeling the same as I would after a 4-mile run. There's always Zwift or some other stationary bike solution, I suppose. Or try an elliptical machine in your local gym --or a rowing machine.
Good form on a rower might be difficult at first, depending on where you carry your extra weight. Have a trainer coach you in good rowing technique that's within your range of motion. Getting your hips and back to do the right thing is key (or it was for me). You can increase your range of motion later pretty easily as your rowing muscles develop and your body gets used to doing that movement. A used rowing machine of good quality is often less expensive than a used stationary bike of similar quality, although also harder to find, since they are less popular than bikes.
Also, consider a ski erg machine. Mark loves them. He's mentioned them a few times in his videos that I've seen. I love them too, partly because in my misspent youth I was a competitive skier for a while, and loved loved loved it (I just wasn't a very competitive person, so once I got to a certain level at which peers were no longer very friendly, it wasn't fun anymore, and I dropped out). So the movement of the ski erg activates lots of happy vibes for me. Muscle memory is real. The ski erg takes up almost no room and will make you short of breath faster than either the rower or the bike, so pace yourself! But it's also super gentle on the knees, even more so than rowing and biking, which are low-impact but high-flexion. Ski erg is zero impact and minimal flexion.
Hang in there, Chris, stay active however you're able! Don't worry. Find a healthful tribe (this channel is part of it), eat wisely, hydrate happily, sleep well, stay mindful of your thinking & habits, you'll thrive! Grace and strength to you.
@@Wordsmiths Thanks so much for replying
Since she could already complete an ultra without training, she is surely a natural. (naturally athletic, I'm not even talking about weight) No way I (I'm fairly fit) could even walk an ultra. I'd love to see her progress for years to come and see her bevcompetitive with some of the world's best ultra athletes.
This is soooo inspiring and the small improvements can definitely add up. Go JEN!! I think i’ll start tracking more of my progress so that I can see the improvements over time. Thank you 🙏
Would've been weird doing this journey with someone else's wife anyway. So gotta work with what you've got!
Well done Jen
Great achievement
Interesting and entertaining content 👍🏻
This is a awesome topic
I've been doing Endurance for 13 years and forgot how those gains feel
That's when the " addiction to sport" starts, for me it was trail running
9 weeks til my 2nd 100k( 3 yrs apart)
Im 6'4 100kg 49yrs ran a 23:30 5k a month ago "Anythings Possible"
GO GET IT JEN
I got a knee injury whilst I was in the army in 2017.
I did physio for a year but never got better.
So when I left the army I’ve never run again. In fact I stopped exercising altogether.
Last year I decided to lose 15-20kg. Get back to the weight I was most of the time whilst I was a young infantryman.
Lost 12kg last year. Then went back up 7kg until this year. A few weeks ago I thought I’d try again.
I’m down a few kilograms.
Figured I’d try running, haven’t had knee pain for a few years.
Went and bought runners. Ran a bit whilst walking the dog.
Tried again 2 days later, 1 step in I couldn’t stand the pain.
Running is completely off the table.
Makes me sad as I ran every day whilst I was in the army and loved starting my day like that.
Mark you have an exceptional talent of keeping your videos interesting and relevant ! I was just wondering if you have made a video showcasing your medals at all ? If you have, please send me the link ..... If you haven't, I think it would be quite popular? Keep up the good work sir 👍🏻
Your wife went from being beautiful to being beautiful AND sexy! Way to go! Keep pumping!
No matter what sport (except weight lifting), a world class athlete is roughly 2x as performant as a hobby athlete. It takes 10 years of 7.2% improvement reach that. That is actually what it usually takes.
1st off big fan of the channel, can’t get enough.
2nd your wife loves you so much. My wife hates cameras and she has a similar look. You are blessed and breathing rarefied air.
Yes. The poor woman is obviously very uncomfortable on camera.
She's hilarious! Awesome video! Very inspirational! Thank you Mark
Thanks a lot for the video! Driveby unasked 2 cents: lower back during the deadlift position could be improved, just rubbed me as it can lead to injury. Keep doing great stuff and stay safe!
I've come to think that when many people saying they're going "all out", they're barely above LT1.
Fun to see Jen's progress.
And while she looked fit, you clearly see now that what is there is muscle that is being used. It looks a lot fitter.
Hi! Please give us more day to day details from Jen. She still feels remote to me in comparison to Mark.
How is it training with a plan? First time? How often does the plan change? How motivated is she? Does she skip training sessions? How does it fit in with work? Do Marks older videos inspire her? Does her view on sports or Mark change? Does she want to train too much now and has to calm down?
Cheers!
It’s coming.
I’d be interested in this too, love Jen, nice to see the dynamic between you both
great video. for some reason women are so scared of getting too "bulky" in the gym if they use weight training. my answer to that is you wont just wake up one day and be too bulky, you have to train for it. its not gonna happen over night lol
@Swim bike run to run and it takes a lot more effort to actually look bulky, it aint easy especially for women to get that bulky/muscular look. just weight train, you will look much better than just having fat on you. muscular legs look great
Yep. Jen could easily carry a few more kg of lean weight and still look far from bulky.
"It can't keep up ... She'll be faster than me."
But you'll be stronger. Why, on your bench alone you'll ... umm ... Wow, yeah, she'll be faster than you.
Nicee🔥
Great work Jen! Call me strange but I've always thought strong shoulders are something that looks good on anyone. I say that as mine are wasting away from just running and neglecting my entire upper body. Probably should do something about that..
Yep - and she has more lower body size so can handle more shoulder/back size and still be very in proportion
Good stuff and quite common for a woman to put a number on the scales that they want to hit. What they don't usually know is that muscle is twice as heavy as fat for the the same size, so losing fat and gaining muscle is the reason for the weight increase.
Muscle mass/tone also makes the body look better, so don't focus on the scales at all really.
Also women are never going to get Arnie size when training naturally due to the lack of testosterone. Not even men are going to get that size unless using peds.
These videos of Jen's progress are what have brought me to your channel! I enjoy them and I'm glad I found you!
Mark, you must interview Jen's mom.
... and when you do interview Jen's mom, please find a suitable 80's movie with clips in it to represent "angry mom"😅
Jaws?
@@MarkLewisfitness I think you might have to pick very carefully here actually…. There could be repercussions at Xmas 😂
What a counter at the end :D Great stuff here Mark and Jen!!! I'm really enjoying this series
Killing it! Losing the newbie gains will be sad. 5k race for me this evening and I know the 1min 30s PR improvement I did last race won't continue. Time to grind.
Yep. Enjoy them while you can.
Post race update: 40s faster than my PR race 5 weeks ago. I'll take it!
That's why her deadlift is so good.. from spotting your benches ;-)
Ha! That’s actually quite funny 😄
Hey mark, how did you/jenna find your trainer? Do you have any tips?
I'm only halfway through the video and I have to stop to say WOW Jen is one hell of a human being. It's got to take a ton of fortitude to put yourself up in front of an audience this big, to be scored on your progress by your spouse like this. I don't know if it's easy or difficult for her, but it's amazing and praise-worthy. The progress is great, too, but I just had to stop and comment on that.
I don't think she quite gets how many people watch 😂 At Hyrox she will be mini famous 😂😂
Some people love to photoshop or use the new apps to change how their body looks especially if the claim to be an influencer.
Got to work out how to motivate my other half who always wants to join me but constantly finds excuses not to .....
I feel like the Q&A talking about Jen’s body measurements should be prescribed to every woman afraid of ‘bulking up’ if they lift weights or focused (as Jen was) on the number on the scale above all else. Body composition is the most important thing in feeling and looking healthy and fit and so many women don’t realise this until after they’ve gone down the path, with many, many more avoiding starting this kind of training because they fear what might happen. So they just focus on eating less and it’s a downward spiral. Jen looked slim before, now she looks slim and athletic and it’s great to see she’s pleased with that outcome, with more energy to boot! Great progress on the mindset too - I personally think that’s that’s what separates the average from the above average, the willingness to push yourself when it feels uncomfortable. Good job Jen. And well done Mark for forcing her into it, you can now say ‘I told you so’ to Jen’s mum.
Yeah definitely. I've seen a lot of men fall into that trap too tbh. Worst thing about focusing solely on the scales is, as you say, it doesn't take composition into account. So a lot of people just end up "skinny fat" and still unhappy with their body even if they do succeed in hitting their goal. And in a lot of ways that's even harder to fix than just being overweight because the solution is to gain weight back, albeit in muscle, which seems contradictory to someone who is only thinking about the number on the scales.
And as far as women bulking up goes, I think it will be a while before she puts another 2cm on her arms without doing isolation work. Legs yeah, if her squat goes up her legs and glutes will blow up with it, but most women don't seem to mind that. Getting big "masculine" arms as a woman takes serious graft and very specific training, so she doesn't have to worry about that happening by accident.
I agree. Her old attitude of “all I care about is the number on the scale” is so destructive. Now she cares about what she can lift, run, etc….. not random fluctuating body weight.
@@yewtewbstew547 Tell me about it, I’ve been trying to grow my arms and it takes forever as a woman, and I’m a more ‘bulky’ build naturally and it’s still hard slog to put on muscle mass. 🤣
Team Jen all the way!!! Instagram & functionally fit are great assets to have.
I used to run cross country 5k or 3 miles. shaving off 2 minutes is huge.
Very Interesting. High quality content 👍🏻
I’ve really enjoyed this series Mark, as someone with a wife without a competitive bone in her body, it’s been fun watching Jen obviously push herself and find some competitive spirit.
Yep - by Hyrox she will be READY!!!!
Great content Mark, and amazing job Jen. Really interesting process for me as I’ve been training for about a year now but still have a long way to go as my first hurdle was and still is weight loss despite dropping 25kg. Looking forward to seeing the next phase.
Very fortunate to start out with little to no extra weight, but amazing either way.
Cheers for this Mark - you're commitment to this space, fitness and educating others is inspiring. 👏
Do yourself a favour skip to 14.30 🙂
57 here most couldnt train with me.
You're punching above?
100% agree abiut recognising improvements ans taking motivation from it. Im 13M in to a fitness journey, mainly focusing on running. I was really suffering with poor motivation and what felt like slow progress. I joked in November 22 that id like to run a sub 20 minute 5K at some point. I was shocked when no one at my sons running club laughed in my face. Since then my times have crept down and ive improved my PBs as follows:
Half marathon = 1:39
10K = 41:31
5K = 19:40
First marathon in April 24 and ive started increasing my mileage already.
Working on diet (I need to lose weight and my diet is rubbish!) And speed work too. Want a sub 19 5k and sub 40 10K in 2024
It’s a hard mindset to get out of for a lot of women, gaining weight = bad but it is so cool to see Jen going against that and feeling better and stronger
Yep. Had to hide the scales for a few weeks!!
i might make "somewhere between here and Arnold" my goal from now on
It's how I live my life 😂
Jen's clearly the talent here..
A very rude question so please forgive, how old is your lady wife? As a bloke pushing 40 I like the idea of being physically fit enough to attract someone not as old and haggard as me :)
She’s 33. I met her at 40 when she was 25. #thegymworks 😂
