    An absolutely wonderful video. I have only just got this new macro lens and was expecting it to be similar, use-wise, to the 60m - it is v different and yr UA-cam has really helped! Hoping to find more of yr videos. Many thx :)

      Thank you. I am happy to see the video helped you. All my videos are with olympus / om system gear, but most of them are about landscape photography. An occasional macro shot comes along, but I don't do it enough. The 90mm was much more fun to use than the 60mm, in my opinion. Thankd for watching, and you're coment. i appreciate it! Grt guido

    Love the vlog Guido. I didn't know these butterflies were soo small. But... the photo of the house and the rabbit (it's a hare! 🙂 ) is stunning! That is a photo with taking 'that' moment. Also, I had some fun... I talked to a hunter in the filed when seeing 'rabbits' and he corrected me.. No, thats are 'hares'🙂he corrected .... Thank you Guido, enjoyed it !!!

    I love the shot of the house with the Rabbit in it. I have just brought a OM-1 camera with the 60mm macro lens never used a micro four thirds camera before always full frame or apsc cameras. I use my Sony A7R5 with my 90mm macro lens. I got the OM-1 so its lighter 😀 Wow that butterfly is so pretty I have never seen a butterfly with pink in it 😊

      Thank you very much. The butterfly looks purple when it's wings are closed but when it opens up its actualy bright orange. They are called orange tip butterflys. I hope the om-1 and 60mm will suit your expectations. I have the same combi and realy enjoy it although I don't shoot many macro images. It's just accosional when my attention is pulled to something I can't ignore. Except for this time with the butterfly's. It's just a realy nice subject. Thanks for watching the video. @GuidoVanDeWater  Рік тому

      Thanks a lot. I have the 60mm myself and love to take macro images from time to time. The lens is so small that it takes no place in my bag so it gives me more oppertubitys to take nice images without caring around much. But I have to say that the 90mm was much easier to use. But the price is almost 3x the 60mm so deffinitly an investment. Grt guido

    Have you found a compatible flash and wireless trigger that works with the camera and lens for macro

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  11 місяців тому

      I'm no expert in macro photography, and I don't own a macro / ring flash or anything. But I've seen people work with it so I know it's there. There is an original flash that is compatible as far as i know. It's the stf-8. I know the remote from the om system itself works great it's called the rm-wr1. Hope that answers your questions, but just yo mentioned I don't own these and never used them myself. It's only from what I've seen with other photographers. Thanks for watching the video. Grt guido

    Guido vraagje. Wat zou deze macrolens beter tot zijn recht laten komen met betrekking tot macro dan bijvoorbeeld de 40-150mm met f2.8 die je op 90mm kan nemen met betere F-waarde? Ik twijfel tussen beide lenzen

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  Рік тому

      Hoi jasper, ik denk dat deze lenzen voor het doel van macro totaal niet te vergelijken zijn. De 40-150 is ook echt geen macro lens. Je kunt natuurlijk wel flink inzoomen maar echte vergrotingen krijg je niet. Met een echte macro lens kan je 1 op 1 vergrotingen of zelf 4 op 1 vergrotingen maken. Je hoeft ook birt zo ver weg te staat om scherp te stellen zoals net de 40-150. Met de 90mm macro kan je een paar cm ervoor komen. Ook is de macro gestabiliseerd waardoor uit de hand fotograferen heel gemakkelijk is. Ik denk dat de vraag is of je plan is vooral macro te fotograferen dan zou ik namelijk 100 procent zeker de 90mm kiezen. Wil je een lens waar je ook landschappen, vogels en af en toe een close up van een vlinder of paddestoel mee kan maken dan is de 40-150 een goede keuze maar echte macro foto's kan je daar niet mee maken. Die hogere f waarde is totaal geen probleem overigens ook niet voor de achtergrond. Zoals je in de video ziet kan je die prima neutraal houden. Succes met je keuze en als je nog iets wilt weten dan weet je me te vinden 🙂 grt guido

      Je hebt wel echt mooie foto's geschoten met de 90mm macro! En smaakt macro fotografie dan niet naar meer na het testen met zo'n mooie lens?

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  Рік тому

      Het smaakt zeker naar meer maar ik hou vooral niet zo van dingen plannen. Ik ga gewoon en zie wel wat er mijn pad komt. Dat is meestal een landschap, soms macro en soms een dier of vogel. Ik kijk altijd gewoon wat mijn aandacht trekt. Maar de lens heeft er zeker voor gezorgd dat mijn spaargeld er binnenkort weer aan gaat 🤣

    How do you set your white balance for overcast conditions? I am assuming you shoot RAW and it is handled in post processing but do you ever set to anything other than auto in the field?

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  Рік тому

      Hi Rich, no I never change my white balance other then auto. Indeed i always change that in post processing. The only time i change it is for expample with night photography when there are a lot of street lights. But that is only because i want to have an idea what the light looks like. But almost always i still change it afterwards. And i have to say that my OM-1 usualy does a realy hood job deciding the right white balance on auto. Grt guido
