Ever heard of the devoicing rule?
The u is silent
whats that?
"-ta" in verb is frequently associated with past tense. for nouns such as tomorrow, "ashita", "-ta" here is just part of the word, does not refer to something is done in the past.
Nice
This is formal or informal
Japan society ae aismashu
The last sentence always use by u
Nani meaning?
You can write it as "mizu wo" or "mizu o" when writing in Romanized Japanese. The proper romanization is "wo", but when pronouncing it it sounds like "o".

I was wondering, if I want to ask "what are we eating today?" Would it still be "kyou nani o tabemasu ka?"
Diana Edvi Yes, that is correct!
Alright then, thank you :)
Wait, can I break this down... 'Kyou' is today, right? And 'nani' is what and then 'o tabemasu' is to eat and then 'ka' is the question particle. Is that correct? Sorry, I'm just trying to make note you see.
The Lugia Song yeah youre right.
"kyou (wa) nani (wo) tabemasu ka?"(今日(は)何(を)食べますか?)(←"wa" and "wo" can be omitted in spoken language.) In this sentence the subject(we=(watashitachiわたしたち) or you(=anataあなた)) is omitted. So it can mean "what are we eating today?" or "what are you eating today?" depending on the situation. When it’s clear to eat together, it means "what are we eating today?" To make the subject clear, you should say "anata(=you) wa kyou nani wo tabemasu ka?"(あなたは今日、何を食べますか?)for "what are you eating today?" and "kyou nani wo tabemashou ka?"(今日、何を食べましょうか?)for "what are we eating today?" ”tabemashou” means “shall eat”. "kyou nani wo tabemashou ka?" means “What shall we eat?” ※“nani wo” sounds like “nani o”. “wo”=”を” “o”=”お” ※※Sorry for my poor English.
Now she's making japnese look so easy... Arigatoo gozaimasu
has man been put in a spliff yet
That's fine. Also we have a video from this series that's titled as "to do " in lesson 6. It will give you more examples of how to use it.
She is the best teacher for the beginners who are interested to learn japenese as well as to speak japanese fluently...

Your lessons are a lifesaver! It really helps me learn without paying for a single cent. I'm going to live in Japan soon so I was worried how I would pay for Japanese lessons when I found out they were so expensive. When I found your channel, I'm not worried anymore. This would make a whole lot difference! I'm really grateful to you. Thank you very much.
Excellent lessons with an excellent sensei.

One of the best channel to learn Japanese in my opinion
If you take into account the skill level, content, repetition/learning opportunity, variety, skill & likeability of the teacher... from start to finish this is maybe THE best Japanese educational video ON THE NET, in my humble opinion.
Such a good teacher. I've learned so much from you over these few videos and i feel more confident in speaking it. been trying to use it on a daily basis. the dates are kicking my teeth in though.
are you fluent know
@@myself7232 now*
This would be a lot more handy if you used the kanji instead of hiragana to depict the verbs, since repeating them over and over will help with the kanji memorisation. In case anyone's wondering here are the kanji for these 4 verbs = drink : 飲みます - eat : 食べます - see:見ます - hear:聞きます
You're a great teacher! How you integrate words into sentences and your speed helps me learn so much! Thank you!
I have been watching these videos today and I just want to say thank you to the teacher for making them and making them so fun! These are very helpful, thanks very much!

This is wonderful. Helps me learn this amazingly beautiful language! Thank you :)
are you fluent know
The Japan Society videos are the most helpful I've found so far. I'm the type who needs to make sense before I can use the language. This approach is very logical and not like many which rely much on memorization. Great lessons!!
These lessons are the best. I love being teached by the sensei!!!!!!!
I have learned so much japanese in the 5 lessons I have watched.
Here's some mnemonics to help differentiate between the four:
- For tabemasu, think "table"
What do you do at a table(dinner)? Eat. So TABEmasu is eat.
-For nomimasu, think "no"
If someone offers you a drink(alcohol) you say no(well I'm a minor so I'd say no and any minor should say no to alcohol). Or you can think "no drinks allowed" for NOmimasu.
-For mimasu, think "Memes"
Because you SEE memes. MIMasu.
You could also think "Me" or "Mirror" because you SEE yourself in the mirror.
-For kikimasu think, "Kiki"
As cringey as it is, think of hearing the "Kiki, Do You Love Me" Drake song. KIKImasu. Like, ugh, I don't wanna hear that song!
Hope this helps!

I've just finished Lesson 5 and I've already learned a lot from her since Lesson 1! She's a great teacher!
I grew up in Japan so I just listen to these videos and it all comes back. Hope to get fluent again. So much easier than learning from books or finding someone to converse with you in Japanese.
waw, sugoi desu ne.. Arigatou gozaimashita.

+Huzi Channel Arigatou gozaimashita. is used if the favor is already done. get it?
oh if you are professional, its ok. Im a beginner. thank you I got it
So if you already learnt something , the favour is done , it's ashita because you've already learnt it? And if you're about to learn it and haven't yet it's 'asu' ? I get it now
OMG she is such a cutie pie you are such a sweetie ma'am
This exactly oh my god she seems like she's so sweet and her smile just aw
We currently do not have a video on how to read romaji. Masu is used for present-tense endings for "I eat", "you eat", etc. However, it is also used for other words like nomimasu, mimasu, kikimasu, etc.
Just added this channel to my favourite channels. Thank you for the lessons on your channel.

○○ o △△←mistake
○○ wo △△←correct
Suteki o tabemasu
Suteki wo tabemasu
↓Translated into Japanese
スキーキ(すてーき) お(o) たべます。←mistake
ステーキ(すてーき) を(wo) たべます。←correct
"お" and "を" is a different thing.
"お" it has been used to words as " おはよう".
" を" is a way to be used as an adhesive in order to provide a words and word.
Sorry if English was wrong .
I learned that it is written "wo" but pronounce as "o"

I would love to be able to have some basic conversations while on the trip and this series has been a fantastic beginning point for me. Highly recommend for anyone looking to just start learning.
if the the question is... "what did you eat yesterday lunch?"
is it... "kino hirugohan wa nani o tabemashita ka?" ?
christine ferrer Yes, that is correct!
thank you japan soc.! this is really helpful for me to know the basic nihongo. keep it up! 2 thumbs up! hontou ni tanoshkatta desu!
christine ferrer kino nani ranchi o tobemashita ka
I read somewhere that they're three different ways to say lunch in Japanese O.o And Ranchi is one of them. I think I'll stick with that one instead ^^ haha
ランチ(katakana) is the "english" form of "Lunch", you know. 昼ご飯(hiragana) is the Japanese equivalent of lunch. Just saying XD

I really like this lady she makes learn Japanese so easy. Thank you!
Just a couple of things:
it's kinou, not kino.
it's koohii, not kohi.
it's suteeki, not suteki.
it's kappukeeki, not kupukekki
That is why theres a line on top of all those words ( i have no idea whats its called) so that it is spelled right. For eg: Kohi is spelled koohi when there is a line on top of 'o'
EXCELLENT LESSONS! I have been searching for something like this for so long. Clear, instructions - lots of repetitions which I love (sinks into the grey matter!) wonderful, thanks so much
