Lumineon V. I remember when it was first revealed, and seeing Lumineon finally getting a powerful card made me so happy. I have its special illustrations cards too. I love how pretty they are. I'm excited for rotation, especially the new trainer's Pokemon mechanic coming out next year to shake things up.
I just started playing last month. Really enjoyed lost box, I was glad to see Pikachu breathed new life into it but I came into it knowing it was destined for rotation next year. It’s definitely better for the balance of the game for older cards to rotate out.
Same here got addicted to lost box and arceus now i found out all will be gone you can still play expanded but playing as a new player against someone that has all the crazy cards from the past just seem unfun
I think this rotation coming will be the most impactful that we have seen in awhile. Even though it's 3 months away I'm assuming based on what we are losing and what decks are rotating that I think raging bolt and charizard will be at the top of the format with dragapult ex behind it. The other decks that I feel will do good in the format after rotation is gholdengo, miraidon, ancient box, ceruledge, terapagos, and probably archaludon. This is just my thoughts so far but we have sets that will be released before rotation so depending what kind of cards releases will determine how the format will look after rotation.
I think losing manaphy and canceling cologne is the worst. Wall decks will destroy ex pokemon and the bench isn't safe....hydreigon will be more powerful i think..
Miraidon will certainly survive as it is only losing things like raikou v, zapdos, raichu, and forest seal stone. We are gonna have a tapu koko ex that will release soon and it does basically what raikou v does but with no ability. As for a solid replacement of raichu to one shot things I would try running 2 copies of pikachu ex and have about 14 lightning and one grass and one metal energy. Reason I say this is because if you include something like counter gain then you could use pikachu as an attacking option and you could power up the attack easily by attaching for turn, electric generator, plus counter gain to reduce the attack cost by 1. Also the new magneton from surging sparks can accelerate energy from the discard opening the door for a back to back attack from pikachu ex.
Time to build a new ceruledge deck lmao I’m not losing much just greninja, lumineon and the switches but rip to any lost box or poison control players (those decks will NOT be missed)
Honestly idk what to replace greninja with tho maybe i just sub the lumi/greninja for some type of mew/pidgeot replacement for draw power and replace the discard levy with extra carmines but either way a difficult meta shift for everyone
Goodbye Snorlax, you won't be missed Goodbye Lost Zone Box, you'll be missed Goodbye RotomV, Lumineon and Forest Sigil Stone, you all will be missed PLEASE MANAPHY DON'T LEAVE I NEED YOU
Sorry i hardly understand (1- because i'm new in Pokemon TCG and 2- because english is not my main language): all those cards will be removed for official tournaments? So basically, correct me if i'm wrong, they will demolish lost zone box, snorlax and regidrago decks?
Basically all cards that have an F label on the bottom of the card will be removed from play. This means all pokémon that are V, Vstar and Radiant will 100% be gone (so full decks like Lugia, Lost box, Regidrago, etc. some of the most used cards like Rotom V, Lumineon V, Radiant Charizard, Radiant Greninja, and some generally useful items like Lost Vacuum, Canceling Cologne, etc.). It's pretty safe to say that almost all decks will be changing pretty drastically, either due to losing cards or because different decks become meta after losing bad match ups.
@@wayforglory945 The sad / fun part of this story is i've recently started play pokemon tcg with a lost box deck (because I listened a "pro player" suggestion, just few weeks ago). Gg to me ahahah
@@ibbatta While not as new as you probably, I also started playing the TCG around this August and picked Lost Box (Giratina). I knew it wasn't really meta at the time and that it would rotate out soon, but since Giratina was my favorite legendary I had to make it. Few months later and it won me many 1st places in challenges (way making up any cost that I'd ever spend in this hobby, which is astonishing as a former yugioh player) and has not let me down ever since I bought it (if anything I'm the only letting it down when I lose). It has performed way beyond anything I'd ever imagined from a "non meta" deck, so much so that I can already say that I made it's worth, the next 3 months will be my solid goodbye to the deck. Will I miss it? Absolutely. Did I feel like it already over achieved it's job? Absolutely, so I'm not sad about it going out.
@@wayforglory945 ah so it will be in the next 3 month?? not in Jenuary? I'm scared to do "official competition" atm, because i'm afraid to suck a lot (i don't know cards effect, mechanics, etc). So every card before F will be outdate?
@@ibbatta yeah on the 27th of March, so plenty of time to play. As for being afraid to compete, don't be! By competing you can only get better, the better you get the more fun you have! Just go to a local tournament/challenge and play it out, don't give too much weight to winning or losing, you are first and foremost learning!
The last days in March huh? Little earlier than I expected but I might as well spend these last few months enjoying my RegidragoVSTAR deck before it rotates out. I also have a Raging Bolt deck and a Charizard/Terapagos EX deck anyway. For those decks, any ideas on what cards can substitute the F cards rotating out?
The trainer cards will definitely get reprinted somewhere in the future or another card will do the same thing. For the pkmn it's only the latter. Once they're rotated you can no longer use them in the standard format, only in the expanded.
@@shaymondezu8217 and how you play in the expanded format? Also, doesn't those cards exist in real life? Isn't it kinda meh that another card will do the same thing?
@@Floryn_2345 The expanded format on tcg live can be found by clicking on the blue logo behind the red one on the starting screen. It's always one behind the other. In the deck list you have to press ON the red format button in the left corner to go to expanded blue. I have to warn you though. On expanded EVERY card can be used. And since you're new you haven't seen the horrors that VMAX brought in the sword and shield era. You'll meet Arceus, Dialga, Palkia (ADP) + Zacian V. It's not lame that cards do the same thing. That's how you keep the game playable and different. Easy example is Bibarel and Revavroom. Bibarel will rotate out while Revavroom can take It's place, with the bonuses of being a steel type to boot. Most cards will take at least a year to get a similar print, heck, some cards only appear ones a generation. But It's for the best. Just look at Yu-gi-oh. All the cards exist in real life. Cards that rotate out will become either cheaper or most expensive since they can't be used in official tournaments anymore and the sets usually don't get reprinted. But all that is outside my expertise. Hopefully I cleared things up a little.

Snorlax stall.
DTE, RIP Klawf decks
@TheCatDad2424 I’m guessing there will be a DTE equivalent coming out soon.
Palkia Vstar, Rad Ninja, Dark Patch 😢
LDF is gonna lose his precious Bibs
He’ll be okay. They have Revaroom, and dundunsprace. And quaquaval
That is literally the worst spelling of quaquaval I’ve ever seen

As an ancient box player, i hope we get a stadium which is similar to tower of darkness; discard a label card to draw 2 card.
I just started to play after not playing since Night March. I’m gonna miss Radiant Greninja and the V’s 😭
Glad you make these types of videos, i stop playing every year or so and like to see whats popping nowadays 👍🏽
I cant WAIT. I started collecting for this upcoming format about a year ago and we're almost getting decklists for them
Rotom V gonna hurt to lose for stage 2 decks

We have rabsca
yeah we will definitely need a cancelling cologne replacement,as long as cards like iron thorns are around, we will need some counterplay
@blukins8 klefki and fluttermane exist
Manaphy isn't even used in meta decks right now.

haha I agree

Good luck bro 😭
Yes! I run this deck at locals, and it's what I like to call the Meta killer.

My Bibarel and radiants 😔
I'm really excited for rotation. Vs and radiant need to go, it's time to move on and remove those Vstar markers from our dice boxes.
